Staff are always great but they took the BigSurff away. They said they have Kokanee on tap but it doesn't taste like Kokanee. Waitress said a lot of people said the same thing.

It's food is good and cheap, but it still managed to be 20 dollars for a beer and a burger. Might've just been the brand but the place was otherwise nice and the waitress was friendly. Will probably go back, and forgo the beer.

Dirty, dingy, what is commonly known as a "dive bar". The walls needed paint years ago. The seats are ripped and torn and nobody cares. It smells and that goes into overdrive in the horrid bathrooms. Avoid this or risk seeing your lunch again.

A very cool vibe that offers delicious food and drinks. The Met offers a good variety of beers along with some appetizing food. 'Honey Brown' is a must try, if that's what you're into! The staff are kind and friendly. Overall, I've been here a couple of times and I'd definitely go again! :)

It's a pretty average pub, it's decent sized, the staff are friendly, the drinks are good, but there's just no atmosphere whatsoever. The lights are all always on, not dimmed, so there's no ambiance. There's a pool table. It just feels like small, half forgotten place that happens to still serve alcohol and has a big screen TV for sports.

We were ther on father's day and had a horrible experience. Our meals didn't come out at the same time. My husband's mac and cheese arrive 20 minutes after the rest of the food did and it was aweful. He couldn't eat it. Our server way really obtrusive and acting extremely bizzar. We would never go back.

It's a good pub. We went for trivia night which they do every Thursday. Lots of people with a good mix of ages. Reasonable prices and really good service round this place out. The food was decent, nothing to write home about but nothing wrong with it either - I'd eat there again for sure. Just an all around solid neighbourhood pub!

Would love to see if it can be better but without being open past 9 it's pretty much a restaurant for old folks that serves beer, and cuts out a large portion of the working public who may go. I would be here 1-3 times a week for food and or drinks if it was even open a couple more hours. Also horribly understaffed. The server I had was great but literally the only employee there. Ownership needs to do better by their employees

Please get vegan options. Convenient location, like that they have a pool table but are lacking in vegan options. Nothing for me to eat here. Ideally located with the skytrain just outside their doors. Plenty of shopping stores surrounding this pub as well as a movie theater. Great service and my food was great. I would visit again.

The food was delicious, which is why the 3 stars. Zero stars for service and environment. Only one server on shift and she was eating behind the bar. One other off shift employee was sitting, drinking with friends and yelling instructions to customers upon entrance. No social distancing measures in place and the waitress was leaning across us to deliver and collect plates and drinks. Had to go up to the bar for our bill after waiting for 15 minutes after we asked for it.

Kind of shocked to read the negative reviews, I have been a customer for a long time and I've never had a problem with the food, this place is a bit old and has a lot of history to it. I also get top level service whenever I go there. The bartenders or waitresses always have big smiles and are a treat to be with, while I enjoy a couple of beers after I'm done work. Darryl is a definite favorite for me when it comes to bartenders, he always has funny jokes and is fun to be around, plus he really just genuinely enjoys bar tending and I can see it through the way he treats people.

I go here all the time. Amazing Appy hour specials, cheap beer, and unexpectedly well-made dishes. Would recommend to anyone. Definitely a real BAR though, which is good, as those are fast disappearing :-(.

Marina is the best bartender, she’s pretty much like Tom Cruise in the movie cocktail. If I had 3 wishes, two of them would be to be served by her. The third would be for more wishes. Not an option? Fine, one more serving, ma’am. She’s like a female version of Brad Pitt in the movie Fight Club. You know, when he gets done fighting. So perfect, really just gets you in the feels. I get that feeling every time I’m served a Big Surf Lager from this lovely martyr. I’m going to name my first daughter Marina, and not because I’m aquatic. If you’re in New West and thirsty, get your Whistle wet at this hidden gem.

Service was actually really good, but the drinks were loaded with ice and I got about 4 sips per glass. Then the bill came. It was $90.35 to be split by me and a friend. We were both given the machine with $50 owing, which wasn't discovered until after we left when we talked about it. Annoyed that I tipped when I was being unknowingly ripped off. That was my first and last time at the Met.
