In a word, disappointing. I was under the impression that Chop Steakhouse was a high end steakhouse, however I found the prime rib to be the least enjoyable part of the meal. Our server was one of the top servers I have ever had the pleasure of being served by, the restaurant looked great and the prices were average for a steakhouse. The French onion soup was great, the prime rib was the correct doneness, however the meat didn't taste as it was seasoned at all, had a grey exterior, and was bland. I had found a few sprigs of fresh herbs on it which had some flavor but this was few and far between. So while I thought Chop Steakhouse was going to blow other steakhouses out of the water they failed on the most important part, the meat!

It was a great experience, amazing food and caring staff. We met a waiter there who had to be recognized publicly. Antony was his name and he was phenomenal. He was hospitable, caring, and knowledgeable. And he just had this friendly demeanor about him that made us all happy. By the end of our dinner, everyone agreed that he is one of the best waiters we've dealt with. Chop Steakhouse and bar is highly recommended

Was super excited when I saw the reviews, and even changed my shirt when I saw people walking in, only to be disappointed. The best thing about the night was the awesome server. For a more expensive steak house I had high expectations, however the kitchen does not seem to know how to season the food. Ordered the Smoked Rib Eye with a side of mushrooms and garlic shrimp. The cook on everything was awesome, however the loaded baked potato was far from that, the garlic shrimp had a few flecks of black pepper but no trace of garlic anywhere, and the steak while cooked medium like I asked was flavourless. When I mentioned the lack of seasoning, our server asked the kitchen and their response was that is the corporate standard. If it wasn't around 10:30pm when we got our meal I would have sent it back, however hearing the kitchen's response did not fill me with confidence that they would get it right the 2nd time. The best part of the night was by far the server. He constantly checked on us, made sure we were aware of the upcharges for certain items, got an answer for me about the lack of seasoning, and gave me a better dessert to make up for the lack luster supper. In summary for spending over $100 on myself, I will not be back.

I came here for a retirement party with 10 work colleagues and we all had an amazing time. Aoun was our waiter and he did a great job very polite and friendly knows how to take care of his guests. The food was also incredible. 5 stars all around to this chop steakhouse location. Thank you to all who were working here on this day highly recommend ????

Very, very first time. Went for lunch yesterday. The receptionist could be more friendly. She's the first you interact with anyways. Our waitress was very nice. My son ordered smoked rib-eye, asked for medium. Got well done. Disappointing for a steakhouse but he still enjoyed it because it tasted good but still... My prime rib dip was very good. The taste, portion and price was worth coming back a second time. Chandeliers were humongous and so close to the table. It made the cobwebs too obvious. Physical distancing was very good.

Incredible dinner. Went there for our anniversary. It was my first time and everything was delicious. I would definitely return. Only minor snag was that we got a complimentary dessert that said happy birthday although it was our anniversary. No big deal and the creme brulee was so delicious we didn't care.

Great place, you must visit their patio while it is still open! And if you make it during happy hour (3-6pm and after 9pm) you’ll enjoy some treats on budget! Their Smoked Old Fashioned which is smoked to order with Canadian Cedar is amazing. Brings back the feeling of summer campfires combined with the taste of great cocktail finished with orange bitters!

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary as a recommended alternative to The Keg. The atmosphere is upscale casual with decent lighting and very comfortable seating either in the lounge or dining area. Noise is average. Spencer was our server tonight and he made excellent recommendations for our meal. We decided to get crab cakes and the blue cheese salad to start. For entrees, we had the Oscar Steak (surf & turf) and prime rib. Oscar Steak was a top sirloin and was delicious with the bearnaise sauce, scallops, asparagus, and turnip - it had both excellent taste and texture. The prime rib had a nice, smoky texture and was very flavourful. For dessert we had the chocolate torte (flourless) which was extremely rich in flavour. The filling was Amaretto based. Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Chop and would recommend it to anyone looking for a casual, but excellently priced steak dinner.

Had a great first experience! Loved the food, ambience and service. Will definitely come back. Try the Smoked Rib Eye (add the Béarnaise sauce) and the prime rib was also great! For dessert hands down the creme brulee!

Had dinner at the patio for the first time today. Food was okay - hubby enjoyed the prime rib. Drinks were great, got a good sangria for an amazing price. There was a lady, might've been a manager since she was flashing a big key on her waist area. She went to every table to ask how they were doing, if they're ok etc --- but not our table. She went to every single table around us except for us. Also handed every other table a happy hour drink menu except for us. It wasn't a good feeling to be excluded when were all paying customers. Good thing we had a good server and that lady should be thankful she has good staff. Don't think I will be back

I don't typically leave negative reviews but, neither my friend or I had a good time. We ordered the Gorgonzola Cheese dip, crab cakes and two top sirloins, and everything was overly salty or burnt. Our server Gavin was lovely, we didn't have the heart to complain. It was also a bummer that we were both celebrating birthdays, which was noted in the open table reservation, and it was not acknowledge. Maybe Chop is not the place to go for special occasions. They get a star for seating us so quickly, and another for Gavin. But for my first time at Chop, I was pretty disappointed in the food. Sorry.

Great service, Great Food, especially for me since I'm a beef and steak lover, but on the menu there are vegan options and even ways to make some of the food gluten free. Add ons are very flexible and the prices are reasonable, and last but not least, the desserts all of them are to die for. It's great they also have the small trio option for those who don't know what desserts to take. I find that their menu is what brought my expectations up as it is very complete and has a lot of options.

The outdoor patio at this location is beautiful at night. The appetizers, while small and pricey, were surprisingly delicious. The chili shrimps were really amazing. We didn't waste a single drop of the sauce. The Ahi Tuna was delicious but super small. The prime rib was cooked perfectly.

Met with friends at Chops, not my first time at this place. Great steaks are served here, but tonight I went with the Lobster Linguini with escargots for an appetizer. Trendy crowd, great service with a nice menu selection. I recommend this place if you are looking to chill and eat well.

I was here for a bachelor party. Only 8 of us but we received excellent service. We were joking around with our waitress and having a great time catching up with friends with great conversation. The drinks and food were excellent. I got the 20oz ribeye steak and I was not disappointed. Excellent flavor and cooked perfectly medium rare. I will have to go back because it was such a great experience and I really enjoyed the food.

The environment is so beautiful. We had the option of staying indoors or at the patio. We chose to stay inside the restaurant. The waiters are very friendly and smart. They confirmed our bookings and gave us a table. Meals were very tasty and very well prepared. The only reason I'm not giving the 5 star is because of how expensive their meals are. But every other thing was perfect. I recommend! But be prepared to SPEND!!!!

Poor service vs the chop standard we are used to. Our party of 9 was left searching for the waiter many times and consistent reminders were needed. Vaughan location hasn’t let me down. Recommend visiting there instead.

It's ok in general. I ordered a pepercorn steak and it was extremely chewy and the texture was not right at all. The mashed potatoes were pretty good and the tomato with pesto on it was good and a bit of an interesting twist. The cheesecake was not very fresh and it was just descent. The atmosphere is nice but can get a bit loud, it can be hard to talk.

Went here for my boyfriend's work party, the ambience seemed very business-y. Our table ordered a couple of apps, we got the steak bites, the tempura veggies, the crab cakes, we also got the tuna tataki but I think they forgot it but at the same time we weren't complaining bc it was A LOT of food. We were starting to get full just from the appetizers. I also got the sparkling bellini drink and it was so so tasty! Would def recommend it if you're ever at this steakhouse. We got the lobster bisque as an appetizer as part of the set meal they had done for our group, but I didn't like it at all. It was extremely sour and tomato-y and I couldn't taste any lobster in it at all so it was more like a tomato soup. I also ordered something off the set menu bc the chop salad + steak looked super good on the menu itself and I was dying to know what it was. All in all, it just seemed like a typical steakhouse chain, nothing too special about it but it wasn't terrible!

Outstanding! This was the first time we visited Chop steakhouse and the experience was amazing. The food and service were both phenomenal. Wanted to give a massive shout out to Jack, our waiter, who truly made our experience amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and positively influenced our decision-making when ordering! His recommendations, personality and service truly enhanced our experience! Our dishes wouldn’t have tasted as good without Jack! The food was also amazing. The Smoked 13oz Ribeye was by far the best steak I have ever had. It was super tender, flavorful and juicy! The steak was so tender, that it was softer than the beets, lol! We also ordered the Chuck Burger and Steak Oscar, which were both great. Overall, absolutely phenomenal! Highly recommend and will be coming back!

Went to Chops after very long time. It was my dad's birthday and we went for dinner. It was very nice overall, friendly staff and our server was amazing. She was attentive and very good. The steak was super good (I had ribeye). The appetizers were hit and miss. But overall we were happy with the food and the service and the restaurant. Will definitely come again.

My company and I had made dinner plans here to take out a client. We were intrigued with the venue, the atmosphere, and of course the food selection. The steaks were cooked as order and the "mini" dessert option was just the right portion. We will definitely consider coming back here for future dinner meetings. Advice to all, make reservations well in advance. We had booked the last table for a Tuesday night in the prior weekend.

Always impressed with Chop Steakhouse. Great menu, prices and wonderful customer service. Had my birthday and my sons birthday celebration this time visiting, which is the first visit since COVID. Even with the social distancing protocols that are clearly defined with floor directions, hand sanitizijg stations throughout and masks, it was still a great dining experience.

Celebrated my anniversary at Chop. Not again. The lady who took the reservation on the phone specifically asked me if we were celebrating anything and I said, yes, our anniversary. She said okay that is noted. However, that clearly was not the case. There was no acknowledgement that we came out to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated in a very awkward spot on their patio that blocked us off from what was around us. We asked to change to a booth and were told they were reserved for bigger groups. But soon after a couple came and sat in one of them, so I guess that flew out the window. I wanted to order their house soup and told the waitress that often when the soup comes out the soup is cold and the plate and bowl are hot. She said, no problem, I will make sure the soup is hot. It was not. It was semi cold and too creamy. I returned it. Also, allegedly CHOP does not give you a piece of bread with your $10.00 cold creamy soup. I ended up ordering two "cold" charity breads instead. Then she said as a courtesy they will give me a free dessert. My husband and I wanted one dessert to share so we said we want one full proper dessert with two forks. Then she said, okay I will bring out 2 desserts and not charge you but will charge your husband. I was surprised, but okay...the dessert comes out and it was obvious they cut a half of a half of dessert for the two of us and charged full price for one dessert. Both the slices of the cake were very thin...it was obvious they cut in half one dessert and called my portion complimentary. Stingy and a disappointment. $100.00 later...I came home and ate a toasted bagel with some asiago dip. Under $3.00. Thanks CHOP....

Mediocre, overpriced food. I ordered a medium and my steak was dry, cooked well done and not delicious at all. I was surprised and disappointed. For a steakhouse I was excited to try chop for the first time and the steak but was let down. The price is high but the quality is not. I'd rather go to the Keg where there is consistency on food quality and presentation. Will not be returning.

My boyfriend and I had a terrific experience at Chop last night! Food and service was 10/10. Shoutout to our waiter, Ahmed, who was so friendly, polite and attentive. He chatted, checked in often and got us complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. Give this man a raise!

We had 2 orders of the 20oz bone in ribeye and the slow baked salmon Sides were Ahi Tuna Tataki and Chili Garlic shrimp. Pros: food was very good. The ribeyes were cooked perfectly (medium rare). Well marbled steaks. They tasted great! On par with Keg. My Gf devoured her salmon quickly- she was very happy. All our sides were great. Get the loaded baked potato or loaded mash! Appetizers tasted great too. Shrimp nicely de-veined. Excellent sauce. Ahi Tuna was excellent as well. Our server - Raj was great. Bill was reasonable for 3 adults. 175 tax inc. They didn’t charge me for Soda water either. Some places will do that. Cons: Front greeter wasn’t the friendliest. A welcoming smile is nice and should be standard. Food presentation isn’t on par with keg imo. That being said the food is equal or better quality. Overall: we had a very good experience and I’m glad there is alternative to the keg for mid to upper range dining. Next time I’ll try some of their bar specials if I’m not the DD.

With the reopening of patios we decided to go to chop for our anniversary dinner. The setting was nice, although by a busy street. The food was good, but the steaks were over cooked to how we requested them. The manager came out right away to attend to us, but we didn't want to waste any food so we ate what we got. Still wasn't that bad. The manger offered we eat desert and to take the app off our bill, which we said that we were looking for anything for free. He insisted, so we did and the desert was a good way to end it. Service was great overall. Washrooms were well maintained with clear markings for being safe. Picture is of our app, spicy garlic shrimp. The only downside is the price, $40 for prime rib and $16 for that app in the photo.

Went to the place on a stormy night and was not disappointed in any way of service, seating, ambiance and quality of food. From appetizers to main course to desserts the food was of very high quality. Am usually a very small eater but I surprised everyone by eating all the food on my plate!!! Speaks for how good the food was. Our server (Alex) was chatty and so much fun and gave us amazing service. Food quality was A plus and the steaks were thoroughly enjoyed by my boys. Even though we sat out the food came piping out which I loved! Will definitely return and recommend. Thank you for an enjoyable evening!

We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday tonight and had a fabulous time, the ambiance and food were absolutely amazing, the steaks were cooked as per everyone’s liking, was truly impressed that my daughter’s allergies were taken into consideration and her food brought out separately…. The icing on the cake was our server Gavin who went above and beyond to make sure our family was well taken care of, his friendly behavior and attention to detail made our celebration even better. Maybe I forgot what it's like out in the world as it was only my second outing since being in lock down, but the staff are amazing. My wife and I came here for dinner and everything we ate was great! We order the pulled chicken tacos and grilled chilli shrimp for our appetizers, they were the perfect size and very tasty. For our mains, my wife had their peppercorn New York and I had the Smoky Ribeye, both tasted fantastic and the sides perfectly complimented the steaks (I would recommend getting either steak with mashed potatoes). We finished our creme brulee and souffle. Service was also excellent and our waiter made some great recommendations. I would definitely come back here again.

Definitely give it a shot here - Bread and butter, the butter is so light and fluffy, same consistency as whipped cream. Bread came fresh and hot which is a great start to any meal! Big round of applause there - The chop experience dinner - Filet Mignon (6oz) is very good. I got it medium well but I think I may get it medium next time. The red wine reduction was the perfect thickness. - Mushroom and Prime Rib was the soup of the day and it is delicious. There wasn’t much of a meaty flavor, so if you aren’t a big fan of meat then it’s still a good choice for mushroom lovers - The baked potato came with onions, sour cream and butter and I omitted the bacon. Seasonal vegetables really were fresh - Prime Rib (14oz) with mashed potatoes was so juicy and have so much flavor. Will be ordering this again next time! - Mini Cheesecake with Fruit, I was worried about the ice wine and ginger but I didn’t taste it. Generous amount of blackberries, it didn’t have much of a cheese taste and I would have liked the crust to be a bit harder but it was very nice overall. For a mini it was quite big and it wasn’t too sweet which I was happy about Other Comments: - Very clean establishment and that’s a big thing to say considering they have black toilets! It’s crazy, check out my pictures to see them! - We prefer to sit in the bar area in the curved booths as it’s more lively and there is nice music - They have a separate room for dinning and it’s more cozy and romantic with dim lights - Never had an issue with service. It was our first together as a family and we had a wonderful experience, with Aoun making us feel comfortable right from the beginning. She we told that we had a tight schedule, due to an appointment, he ensured that our order was done on priority and was super responsive through the course of our stay. The kids menu is worth it and we are glad we ordered for both our kids from it. Kids steak was not sizzling but I guess it was served that way for kids. Overall, it was a worth the visit and we left with thoughts of coming back again.

This is my first time at Chop Steakhouse and I can confidently say that my experience from start to finish was amazing! From the moment my family and I walked in, we were greeted by the hostess and showed us to our seats. Ahmed was our server and he was exceptional! He proactively asked if it was our first time visiting (which it was), he took the time and effort to make sure all of our questions were answered and we were 100% comfortable with what we were selecting. He consistently kept checking in to make sure that we had everthing we needed. Once the food came out, all the dishes came out spectacular! Couldn't have been more satisfied with my visit! My family and I are looking forward to coming back to Chop! Thank you Chop staff and thank you Ahmed for your exceptional service!

To my surprise chops steakhouse had some vegetarian options. I ordered the tofu steak avocado bowl. Really loved the presentation of the food and wish I had taken a picture but overall it tasted phenomenal.

Went for a quick lunch on Sunday. Check in with vaccine status verification was quick. People well spaced for those who may be uncomfortable. And our server John was great. Good experience for sure. Oh and the food..well lets just say I will be back.

We gave Chop a try for my birthday. Atmosphere is nice. Was seated at 6:50pm ordered wasn’t taken until 725pm. Not enough staff to support how busy they are. Wife ordered the salmon, which was perfect. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection. I ordered the bone-in rib steak... this was disappointing. Under seasoned and over cooked and there was no bone with mine. (Ordered med rare and most of the steak was med or med-well) Requested horseradish and salt to add flavor to the steak. French fries are great. We aren’t ppl to send our food back so we made due and finished our meal. Unlike other restaurants, they don’t acknowledge a bday. There is better options in the city, but its worth trying once.

The food is not good. It costs so much for so little food. They made me pay $39.49 for a small amount of rice and some garbage they threw on as an after thought. I can only describe the restaurant as fake bougie. It looks expensive but there is absolutely no quality to it and this can be seen in the clash between how up scail the restaurant itself is and how badly dressed it's wait staff are. If you are fine with mediocre food and ridiculous bills I recommend this place for you. If I could rate this restaurant zero stars I would. (Their steak is also bad I did try it lol)

Visited chops on feb 16. It was extremely packed it seemed to be a mix of people celebrating Valentine’s Day and family day, we just happened to be there for date night. Atmosphere is very nice and modern. Our wait time was approximately 1 hr we did have reservations but ended up here before our actual reservation time. Our drinks and appetizers came very quickly. I wasn’t a fan of the wings seemed salty the tacos were decent. For my main i got lobster and steak. My steak was dry and not tasty. The waiter was amazing I must say, attentive and kind. I would give them another try just not on a super busy night .

I was disappointed with my experience at Chop. I made reservations 5-6 days earlier and advised that we have 2 small kids. We were placed on a high table and the tables were wobbly. I feel when the staff was preparing for us they would have noticed this but it felt like they didn't care. I ordered my steak med- well and it was medium, the server came by at the beginning and make sure all the food has been served but didn't come till we were more than half way done and even upon tilling her about my steak she just looked at me and took my half eaten plate away without any acknowledgement. I will not go back.

My friend and I had a great meal here yesterday and our server was great too! The atmosphere felt safe, quiet and the tables were well spread out. The food was pretty good too, but the tuna tataki was exceptional and definitely my favourite dish! Our server was attentive, friendly and kind and it was a good experience overall.

Wow! What an amazing experience!!! The quality of food was beyond comparison and believe me I have been to many steakhouses. The service was just exceptional; given the table of 20. The patio was so amazing, the ambience just gave us what we needed to celebrate a very special occasion. All my guests had an amazing time and everyone appreciated the hospitality.
