This restaurant was the icing on the cake while staying and the Rodd Mirimichi River Hotel. The server was incredibly kind and funny, and the food was amazing, and the dining room and the view were gorgeous. I would highly recommend their Chicken & Bacon Alfredo. 10/10 Will definitely be coming back soon!

Great food. Had a table for 6 on Valentine's day, restaurant and bar were full full full. Food and drinks came reasonably fast, steaks were cooked to specifications of customer's. Nice atmosphere, clean, new furniture, swanky spot.

I go here once in a while and there food is usual amazing; however, yesterday I ordered and cheese burger and I swear it was made with taco meat. I didn't finish it as it was disgusting. Although usually there food is very good, the service is always awesome, and the restaurant is super clean.

On vacation and wanted to take my boyfriend for seafood. Pictures looked amazing on the Web. In reality the portions were small, the food was mediocre at best, and the service was super slow. Waited 15 min just to get seated and the place was pretty much empty. Not worth it.

Was told by the waitress that there was an event and they couldn't take any more customers. The event was a little more than an hour away, which would have been more than enough time to take an order or maybe just a coffee but they turned us down and wouldn't seat us. Absolutely the worst service EVER. Never tried the food and never will.

I wouldn’t eat here again. The servers were nice but overall the food was not great and definitely not worth what we paid for it. My boyfriends bass was bland and had no seasoning and we both loaded tons of pepper in our soups because they had no flavour. The lobster roll was ok but mostly just mayonnaise and the fries were meh. There was nothing we could tell the server that was wrong with the food other than it was just not good. I would not recommend this place. I’m pretty annoyed that we spent $100 on a underwhelming meal.

The place iis formal & yet causal. Window seat has water view. It is open till 10 pm on Sunday. Food was good & freshly prepared. We arrived at 9:15 looking for a place to eat.

Best bruschetta ever! My husband said he ate the best burger in his life (and trust me, he's eaten a burger or two in his day). Everything was delicious and fantastic friendly service.

Well presented dishes with a minimalist, but complete, menu. Could be improved to provide more vegetarian options. This restaurant services both the public and the hotel guests. It may be a bit pricey for a hotel serving restaurant. The building is attached and can be accessed directly from the hotel lobby. It is right next to the river and a public waterfront park. Beautiful setting for an evening stroll after dinner.

The view is great on the river but we are still waiting for our dishes (1 and half an hour now, it's horrible)!!!! Very bad customer experience :( And finally, the food is very bad. I took a stripoloin medium rare and vegetables plus mushrooms on the side : - the vegetables are not "cooked" just boiled - the steak is just overcooked - the mushrooms are burnt The burger that one on my children has ordered is worse than McDonald's In conclusion, it should be a bad day for the chef but it's a very bad experience for us.Poor waitress who is in the frontline. The management shouldn't take more customers when the kitchen can't follow the orders!!!! Please fire the Chef, meals at the hospitals are better than his.

Not sure how I feel about this place. The views are beautiful. The restaurant is open, spacious and very well designed. The food though, it's a hit or miss most of the time, and today of all the days it was a miss. We ordered a sea food chowder and it was extremely thick and gloppy. It tasted good enough, but the texture was a bit off for me. The Scallops were juicy and well cooked, but for $16 I had hoped for a bit more than 6 scallops on a plate. The Blackened Salmon was okay and my baked potato was fine. The server also forgot our order, forgot the order of the table behind us too. The highlight was the yam fries that my husband got. So, for today, its 3 stars.

Well my experience was not very good. Our server was awesome. The food not so much. Apps included spinach dip and smoked salmon plate, highlight of our meal. Buddy had schnitzel. It was dry and he said it tasted like frozen. His fries were terrible also. Chicken Chipotle had no chipotle. Baked potatoes ok. Ordered chowder. Never showed up. Had one bowl left when I ordered, but apparently it was given away to another customer. Cod was ok. Asked for ceaser salad instead of fries. They brought the salad in a bowl the size of a tea cup. I think they better do a little quality control.

The food menu at lunch is different than the one for the dinner at evenings. So the choice is quite limited for lunch. Food is good anyway but no salmon at lunch ... Disappointed.

Excellent seafood chowder. Stuffed haddock is delicious. All the seafood was quite obviously very fresh. Presentation was excellent. Service was quick and friendly. Prices are quite reasonable for the quality provided.

Watching the sunset with my meal was a treat, as was the meal. The starter, Beetroot Hummus with crisped pitta chips, had a little too much of a vinegary taste but over all the dish worked. Main course, the Charred Cauliflower which came with a selection of vegetables and smashed potatoes, well seasoned and the two contrasting chutneys worked wonders on my tastebuds. The vegetables, carrot, parsnip, cauliflower, and spinach, had lost a bit of their flavour but the textures for the most part indicated perfectly cooked vegetables, and the smashed potatoes were done to perfection. Desert and coffee; the blueberry cheesecake was sweet, flavourful, and creamy, but not sickly. Unfortunately, it was served in a tall jar which made it hard to get the full taste through the layers, without creating a mess! The weak bland coffee, the lack of a coaster, spoon in the mug, and poor sugar and milk presentation is something to work on. Great local beer on draft, recommended by the knowledgeable, helpful waitresses who ensured I was well cared for. All in all a good experience, great decor and could be a great place for a romantic meal or dignified birthday celebration. Few things to work on to get there: level the tables to eachother, change the music playlist, and light the candles.

While visiting family had dinner at 1809 after checking reviews. Very good restaurant, beautiful view of the river. Had the stuffed haddock - excellent while a family member had the strip loin - also very good. Nice staff and great service. Would good back there again.

Went here for dinner since it was one or the highest rated on TripAdvisor. The food was decent. I don't think it was as good as people made it out to be. I ordered the pork and it was slightly dry. The mashed potatoes tasted good and the presentation was nice. For dessert we had a 3 layer cheesecake and that was definitely incredible. Not too heavy and not too sweet so it was perfect for my taste

Views are great and food is good but in the last year the service has gone down. Even when food is pre-ordered things still seem to take forever. I wouldn't go here if you have somewhere to be after eating as it may take a while.

Went for lunch. Absolutely fantastic service! Our waitress was very knowledgeable about all of our dietary restrictions (and we had many!) and the menu. The food was fabulous and very competitively priced.

Service is more than slow, it is stalled. I guess that the chicken where on strike as it was such a performance to get my two eggs. Fortunately I ordered them sunny side up so it took less time to cook.

Terrible. The cook needs to discover salt and many other spices. Stayed at the Rod hotel for 2 months. Tried everything on the menu. My blood pressure increased due to having to put so much salt on the food to give it some taste. Everything was bland.

We stopped here and decided on some appetizers - 1st they didnt have my husbands beer even though on menu, ordered scallops - they were all out - so settled on mussles...which were sadly plain and disappointing. My husband ordered seafood chowder - it was a potato soup with a tiny bit of fish in it. I ordered beet salad - had 4 slices of beets and dried bread and goat cheese and way too much vinegar! They ONLY good thing was the lovely, friendly hostess - a young lady experiencing Down Syndrome, who was pleasant and cheery - other than this young lady, it was a sad disappointment. Would NOT recommend this place.

Was in for breakfast around 11:00 this morning. The cold hit us as we entered. The air is so high that everyone in the restaurant was wearing a jacket or sweater. Even though we were dressed warm it was still too cold. Our waitress Sylvia was very nice and tried her best to regulate the air where she could do it. The breakfast was okay. I could taste the old margarine on the toasts. Where is the butter? The potatoes were greasy. We asked for onions. There was about one teaspoon of it and we were charged an extra $2 each which was worth 25 cents. The only thing going for that place is the view. I will never convince my husband to go there again this summer. It is his last choice of restaurant on the Miramichi.

Terrible experience. No seasoning in the dishes, boiled vegetables, much overcooked meat: have the cooks only tasted their cooking? We had 2 children with us and had to wait 2 hours to get served. I would recommend going there just for a drink and to enjoy the view. The rest has no interest..

Service was great as always but the menu offers nothing but full meals. It's nice to be able to order something light or small with a coffee. My husband and I used to go there regularly for breakfast or lunch before the menu changed.
