This place sucks. It's dark, dirty and gross. No window. Bathrooms are usually broken and they smell.

As a regular I may have a bias to how I rate this bar but here is the jyst. I enjoy coming here, The main reason I keep coming is the amazing atmosphere that cecil has as its calming and open to discussion. The crew treats me like any good friend would and everyone that pops in are usually really nice. The beer and drinks are in my opinion the cheapest and best in medicine hat and the bartenders are the greatest servers in attitude and speed that i have ever seen. The only reason I wont give 5/5 is cause noone is perfect and the cecil is not for everyone. I enjoy singing and having this type of atmosphere and being able to have a conversation while drinking my alcohol as many other bars you just cant cause they play music way to loud.

Those that hate dive bars are the ones that give it a 1 Star. Those are also the people that never been to a small town bar. The Cecil is just that it’s just like every small town bar. It’s an old hotel that’s been there since the railroad came through. Relaxing atmosphere, sit down have a beer and a burger and just chat with the regulars. I love it because I am small town and when you walk in and know everyone it’s just like being back in a small town. Also they sponsor a wicked Off Road Club called Pirate Off Road Nation. Show your membership card in the diner and get 15% off food.

Great place sad that the wifi shut down so I couldnt sing any of the songs I wanted. It also felt a tad chaotic how it was set up but otherwise had a good time.

Be careful if you work there or you planing to, I'd work with the new owner before a guy from India Dave and his brother and they don't have a like to pay at all, no overtime, holidays, your tax, or paychecks to on time, paychecks bounced, horrible boss, they didn't have to pay me thousands of dollars and a lot people for even $5000 just warning you

The Cecil Hotel Country Kitchen is open early for breakfast, and honestly, nothing beats the price and service, except the food quality! It's fast friendly, and their food is great!

This whole entire place reeked of horrible smells, the liquor served was bottom of the barrel with a horrible taste to it, the food was disgusting basic bar food which was over cooked and a total waste of money, would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! Shannon our bartender was very rude and refused to refund us of our food , what a nightmare of an experience this was, stay away!

It had a good choice of VLT's but is fairly old which makes it seem not to clean or well taken care of. It also has a foul smell, which smells like sewer. So I wouldn't take a date here that's forsure.

Went there for breakfast since the radio advertised they had renovated. Seriously the worst coffee I have ever had. Breakfast was a joke. Dirty heater on the table. Everything I had a similar "off" taste to it. I wanted it to be good...or at least acceptable as it was cheap. The meal was horrible. I really can't say anything good about it. It was quiet in there.......maybe that's the good.

This place is disgusting. Everyone other bar in Medicine Hat EXCEPT for this place let me in on my birthday. Looks like they needed the business anyways and won’t ever get mine or any of my friends again. Dumpster dive. If the casino can let me in at 12am (a high end business) the lowest bar in town should let me in.
