I got food poisoning from this place. My friends and I went to dinner and their food tasted odd. 4-6 hours later at night time I woke up with severe abdominal pain. I was sweating and felt like dying from the pain. I had nausea and diarrhea. Spoke with the emergency doctors who told me I got food poisoning from the foot I ate. I would avoid this place. As per other reviews too their food is never consistent.

Great spot, busy, even during covid. But the tables are spread out and barriers up at the bar. Assuming the air is circulated, it was a great spot to go even though it's not the biggest of areas. Servers were all wearing their masks and were very on top of covid rules (we got warned when a nearby buddy of my buddy approached the table and said Hi for a couple mins). Fair enough, we complied and apologised. Happy hour menu options are great - both for drinks and food. We ordered most of our meal off of it. The food was fantastic (wings, cauliflower, pizza, kids chicken fingers). Oh, and their fries are very very similar to McDs....not sure how they pulled that off! Will definitely be back. Plus they're in the Entertainment book.... So extra discounts outside of the happy hour deals that we eventually stayed beyond.

I haven't been in a few years and was not disappointed. The food was great and service was on par. Lot's of tv screens to enjoy any sporting event. The black jack strips as always are a must along with the steak bites. The Cajun BBQ chicken club burger was excellent. They also have a good kids menu and provide worksheets with coloring to keep them busy.

My wife and I were looking for a nice place to have a quick bite of lunch. We decided to stop at Sammy J's. It appeared to be very Milestones / Earl's. And the menu was typical of the genre. I had the fish tacos and my wife had a Mediterranean chicken sandwich. My wife's chicken sandwich was slightly overcooked and the flavor combination between the mayonnaise and other ingredients seem to almost Clash. The medicine the sandwich was wilted from the hot chicken. Creating a average experience of sandwich and overall disappointing. My fish tacos we're not great, but they were okay it lacked a well-developed flavor. That being said the three kinds of fish we're cooked perfectly the tacos were hot and flavor-wise the meal was well developed. The service was good our waitress was more than understanding about the mediocre experience of the sandwich. Ending kindness in compensation offered to remake the sandwich, provide something else off the menu. But in the end we decided that we've had enough of this experience. Our server was nice enough to provide us with a free appetizer on our next visit, but I don't expect will be using it anytime soon. For this category of restaurant it falls very short of our expectations.

Ordered delivery. Strawberry fields salad had brown rotten Avacado, only 3 slivers of strawberry, a massive amount of greens that wouldn’t really fit in a plate. The chicken was severely over cooked. I was half expecting something wrong when delivery showed up at my door less than 20 minutes after placing the order. The restaurant is 10 minutes from my house so they made 2 meals and an appy in less than 5 minutes. Lettuce wraps were sub par, pasta dish was glued together like it had sat for an hour. We had eaten in restaurant several times pre Covid, was delicious. Won’t go back again after this.

We recently went there for a bday event and was really disappointed. This is the first time I have gone to this location. There was mix ups on the orders as to who ordered what for meals. We asked twice to have the music turned down. We could not even have any kind of conversation with each other at the table. I have been to other Sammy j's and they were no where near this loud. The manager did come speak to our table and I mentioned about the music and he said well that's a lounge atmosphere. I explained that is probably the cause of the mix ups due to no one could hear the waitress when the meals arrived. Unfortunately I have to admit that I will not be returning to this location. I will continue to go to the one in South surrey as the atmosphere was a lot more pleasant and they seem to appreciate you being there

Many things have changed at Samy J's since I was there last The menu has been abbreviated, which unfortunately ended the availability of my favourite spicy meatloaf. But they still have some incredibly tasty blackened chicken as an Appy. Good service, wonderful server who was attentive to our conversation and details of our order. Very nice meal.

Definitely a surprising eat. They have soo many vegetarian options now and a easy to go gluten free menu too! The food was great. The millennial wrap tasted very good. The slight drawback was the cauliflower starter. It was watery and simply boiled with no flavor.

Consistently good service at this location and the waiting time is minimal compared to many other places in the downtown area. They've got some decent variety to the menu and with the restaurant and bar separated by glass, you can pick the side to match your mood...

Way overrated! 1st of all, if you're going to advertise "Happy Hour 3-6pm Everyday", & have on your online menu "heavily discounted appies", you should probably offer a GOOD DISCOUNT ON APPIES!!! 1$ off is NOT heavily discounted! It's quite a farce to offer a "Happy Hour", when you only get 1 or 2 dollars off!!!! I think I'll go to 1 of the many other restaurants that actually offer a good happy hour! I think I'll be writing to head office about this crock!

Decent food and friendly service. Only been there once and had an odd experience. Husband ordered the soup and it tasted burnt. Let the server know. She offered to give us something else, but we politely declined since what we ordered minus the soup was enough. Server came back later saying that the soup was definitely burnt, the kitchen was making a fresh batch, and thanked us for letting her know so it wasn't served to any one else. Overall a pleasant experience, however there was no offer to comp the soup (or a drink if comping a side was too difficult). The rest of the food was fine but when there are so many other places like it with the same type of food and same level of generic service, doubt we will be back. All in all, fine place to go but nothing stands out.

Sammy J's has not stepped it up enough in my opinion to stop the spread of covid. Waitresses aren't wearing masks. When the waitress brings food to your table how do you maintain a 6-foot distance? You can't, it's impossible ,so put on a mask. Restaurants like this make you not want to eat out.

Had a wonderful lunch today, we shared the costal salmon and crispy fish tacos. Even though our server knew from the begining we had a gift card she was very attentive and polite. The outside bar area was perfect, nice breeze and sun and the noise of inside just a whisper.

Normally the rating would be higher however due to seating it dropped it. I called to make reservations for a staff Christmas party and was told a manager would call me back. When I spoke with the manager I explained how many were in our party and said we wanted to all sit together, which we had a few years proir. He stated they could only seat us in the lounge with a group of 18.. I told him we had minors with us and he stated that was ok as long as there were "adults" in our party, which there was. When I arrived I noticed they had us at 2 seperate tables. I asked why and they said the lounge doesn't have a large enough space for a group of 18 and that was the best they could do. The food (various items were ordered by all, and everyone seemed to give the food a 4) was a 4 star, the staffing seemed to be short as wait times were a bit long. I was turned off by the lack of honesty about the seating. I feel as though my request to sit together came second to the money he would have lost had he said we couldn't sit together. Chances are, if Sammy's would have told me we couldn't sit together I would have asked what a better date would have worked so we could as this place was a request by staff votes.

I felt like I was very welcomed by somebody who truly enjoyed her job. Wings were perfect, and although I had a burger it was outstanding. very good quality meat obviously and very very good. overall it was a bit pricey, it was worth every bite. We had lunch there today. I will give the food 5 stars as it was delicious. But taking stars away for the COVID precautions, the sitting was fine as no one around us. Our complaint is due to the lack of masks, I asked the hostess and got a smile but no answer. Also asked the waitress & her answer was well it isn’t mandatory so we don’t have to wear them if we don’t want to. I think management should require their staff to wear them it sure would make us more comfortable. Everyone has to do their part to bring this under controL. I will have to think about returning because of this.

Wanted to try a new place to eat so me and my wife went to Sammy’s in Langley. Asked to sit on the restaurant side which was a huge mistake. They had a large party (looked like a company staff party) who we were sat directly beside. It was so loud we had to switch tables. It was still unbearable and couldn’t even hear my wife talking to me the entire time. Half of their party of 20 or so we’re standing, completely in everyone’s way and appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Clearly over served. We could of had a quieter experience in the sports bar side of the restaurant. The table next to us even complained. We decided to give it another chance as the food was actually pretty good with a good menu selection. We sat down on the restaurant side again and within 10 minutes a completely intoxicated woman approached me and my wife and tried to engage in conversation out of know where. She was so wasted that neither of us could understand what she was talking about and again clearly over served. It’s not like we went there at midnight either. It was 6:30pm. Overall, very unpleasant experiences. I recommend not bringing children as it is far from a family restaurant. We won’t be going back.

This place is just awesome. Their food is excellent and their service is always impeccable. We ordered off skip the dishes tonight and part of our order was left behind by the driver. We called Sammy J's and the staff we spoke to were very understanding and apologetic and they offered to make us a fresh pizza (which was the item missing). When we came to collect the pizza, they had also given us 2 comp desserts for our trouble. As always, we were very happy with the service and food.

Wonderful service and yummy food! Go during happy hour and the prices are perfect. The restaurant is very clean and it wasn’t too loud, I could hear my friend talking most of the time. The only things I didn’t like were: I felt small in the booths, like I was short and the dinning area was too dark. Other than that this is an excellent place for a wonderful meal!

All Sammy J's are good but this one is the best. Why? It's all about the management. Manager Randy hires and trains the best staff so you get superior food, the widest variety of mixed drinks and all served up by Randy's outstanding servers. Beat that! Room for groups of almost any size (the enclosed patio also offers privacy for your group or function). If you're all alone, join the regulars for a fun time at the large 3 sided bar. Decided to try sammy js for happy hour since we always just go to cactus club or earls. Came in at 9pm and waited till 920pm without anybody coming up to our table so we decided to leave and go to earls. Girl at the front responded with "sorry about that" as we let her know on the way out the door. They are very understaffed or just don't care. I suspect it is both.

Another one of the local gems, inconspicuous yet pretty cozy, and with plethora of decent foods that will satisfy your hunger without overly straining your wallet. Good place to watch a game or celebrate just about any occasion. The service could be a little bit faster (maybe the staff could be more attentive), but the overall taste and quality of food certainly makes up for any of these deficiencies, so it's rather hard to not give them top score. Check them out with a group of friends or by yourself, you won't be disappointed.

I've been here a couple times and generally it was been a good experience but my last visit was not great. It was a Friday night so granted it was a bit busy, but there was no wait to get seated. However our server didn't know the drink specials the food took almost an hour to finally get and it was just mediocre once received. This location is fairly small but something about the layout of the dining room makes it amazingly noisy, so if you're looking for a place to have a nice meal without having to yell to talk, this might not be it.

I came here for lunch. I had the vegan Buddha bowl with crispy tofu and a local IPA. The food was excellent. I was so glad to have several appetizing vegan options and the Buddha bowl did not disappoint! The vegetables were fresh and the sauce very flavourful! We used to come here now and then, but hadn't in a while. What a great experience to return to. We've been twice recently, and the service staff and menu are really on point. I had the jambalaya with some potato skins last time, and it's always a pleasant surprise when you find out, they really like to try to make each plate exceptional. The ingredients are fresh, there is a pleasant subtle twist to each meal that sets it apart from your common plate at similar restaurants. Tonight I had the Seafood Linguini. Growing up, my mom used to make me seafood Fettuccini, and it was one of my favorite dishes. I've never had a seafood pasta dish at that level again, until this evening. It tastes like the scallops and seafood were cooked in with the sauce, which you don't find much anymore. Typically the seafood is thrown on top at the end and mixed together, it doesn't taste like seafood pasta, it tastes like pasta with some seafood in it. That's not how Sammy J's tastes, I have to give it a stellar review, it's actual seafood linguini, not just linguini with seafood as an afterthought. Well done Sammy J's, you've won me back.

Food was amazing, really well plated. Went here for my birthday wore a birthday pin and our waitress didn't acknowledge that it was my birthday. Our waitress was a bit slow getting to our table to offer drinks though and didn't take our empty glasses away. She didn't check on us often to make sure we were still good and didn't need anything. She also didn't really talk to us to ask how our day was or anything she really showed that she didn't care about how our day was. I also work in the restaurant industry and I understand that it gets busy but should still pay attention to all tables and guests.

Me and my girlfriend went there two enjoy our last supper if you will with the new restrictions put in place tomorrow. Came here to try out their 8oz new Orleans combo skillet. It used to be $26.99 awhile back when it was good and now its up to $34.99. The mash potatoes were over salted and spiced ans thick which made it taste like something they pulled out of a freeze to defrost and use. The shrimp/steak was descent but scallops were atrocious. Would rate it a 4/10 considering the price and the fact that telling our server really didn't seem to be of any help.

Went to Sammy Js tonight for a light New Years Eve dinner and drinks. Not sure how they are open as there were 3 families that came in and they tried to sit all the kids at 1 table and the adults at another well you xan imagine how that worked out. Kids were back and forth between the tables as were the adults, then they all got up around one table and the second booth was empty. We thought they were leaving but nope they were just swapping tables. Short of the long we left early as they clearly don't follow pu lic health orders or recommendations

My wife and I took my brother out for his birthday on April 20th. We were delighted to be given Sarah as our waitress. She was very attentive, extremely friendly and it seemed as though she took a genuine interest in her customers. We ordered some wings panko shrimp and poutine together with four glasses of wine to celebrate a birthday. Sarah kept on coming over to ask how the food was is there anything else she could get us. The get together was more than what I thought it would be the food was spectacular the wine was okay. But what brought it all together was our server her name is Sarah and she is wonderful. We will certainly be back as this is now one of our top favorite restaurants in Langley, bar none.
