Their was only one person in the kitchen, the food was good but slow coming out as there was a big party in front of us, we were advised that there was going to be a wait.

The main waitress / bartender lady is a real treat.. and a real treat I mean she is really rude.. Slammed our food down on the table, angry we didn’t know the beer list off by heart and will really make us go somewhere else from now on after our golf rounds. ( group of 8 ) its a shame because the other younger waitress is super nice each time and the kitchen staff got our food out fast, hot and delicious .. bye bye newlands , hello other local establishment

Always a good live band and dancing available on Friday and Saturday nights. Staff are good, some better then others. The atmosphere is more of a local hangout, so people come as they are... Some very casual others very fancy. Definitely not a yuppies or hipster type bar.

Went dancing on a Saturday night. The music was a mix of 70 -80' s music and a bit loud if you don't like louder. Service was good and prices average. Dance floor could be a bit bigger. The place hadn't changed in the last 30 years, but still a great place.

Pretty sure this place only survives because it’s on a cheap golf course and there is a wedding factory below that drives the business in between events. We came for dinner before a friend’s birthday and we had to ask for a menu from a waiter twice, and then ask for service three times. First two times the waitress just snapped at me and said “ya we will get to you”. There was 4 waitresses and maybe 3 full tables at the time. They were out of French fries (pub 101 people) and since we got yam fries instead, they were out of chipotle mayo. For a long standing place and frequent bursts of traffic from below, you think they would be able to plan for influx. Food wasn’t even very good and pub food is pretty straight forward. Not one to usually give low ratings but wouldn’t return.

The waitress was a bit grumpy, the food was relatively good, but the karaoke was fun & entertaining to dance along to. Overall, a fun trip. Since it is a golf club, however, the crowd tends to be slightly older.

Newlands Bar & Grill has live music and dancing Saturdays, starting around 8:30 pm. Nice place, great dance music in the bar & grill, the nacho meat platter was very good. Kids are allow up until 8:00 pm. Food is available until 11:00 pm. This lounge is upstairs, so if your on the second floor, above the buffet down-stairs, then you have arrived at the bar & grill. The staff were excellent the night we were there.

Came in on a Friday night for a quiet dinner and a beer with the family. The food was good, not great but good. Our server went beyond the call of duty-she appeared to be running the place(bartender and server). During the course of mixing a drink she cut her hand (needing stitches) but she followed thru with everyone's needs with her hand wrapped and zero complaints. 4 stars for the food, 5 stars for the service!

Went there (Pub on the 1st floor) with the family for a beer/food on Sunday, while waiting for the reception to start. The waiting staff (2 ladies )was particularly rude and unpleasant, no greetings, a feeling that you’re deeply annoying the staff, « we don’t have this/that/and this is broken we can’t do that » without a sorry not alternative offered, no patience to explain what drinks are ok for a citrus allergy person... and finally when one of the waitress brought 2 of the 3 food items we ordered and we were just checking on the 3rd one, we got the famous « I only have 2 arms » served. I was so closed to answer « well if you can’t carry 3 baskets with 2 arms, why are you here for?» It’s just ticking all the boxes of a poor poor service.. I have been in the industry for 10 years now, I’m far from being demanding, but seeing people feeling miserable while doing their job is more than I can handle. I rarely do a review but this needed to be addressed.

Took forever to receive drinks and Food. When we received our bills they were all wrong even when waitress corrected was still incorrect. Waitress seemed to not know what she was doing. She should really be retrained and write orders down and have better interaction with guests. The live band was really good though.

I love to golf here with my buddies on a Friday afternoon, but just avoid this pub. Twice now I've received cold or uncooked food, including a still frozen piece of fish with the fish and chips. Just downstairs is Mr. A's with a great buffet, so skip this bar and get the buffet, they still serve the beer.

The band Beach Patrol was awesome. Drinks are very expensive here and hard to get. No one waits tables. Patrons have to line up at the bar to be served and the lines get very long.
