Cool ambiance, decent prices: strong alcohol around 4/drink and 8/cocktail. Staff is friendly and helpful. I don't suggest you go there for a quiet evening. The name of the bar suggests a view on the canal, but you only get to see this if you use the outside terrace. Coat check is around $1 and you're aloud more than 1 item. There's was live DJ last time I visited.

I've only been here once so I can give it that dazzling 5 stars, however on the one occasion I came here, I was quite pleased to see such uniqueness for a nightlife venue. Sadly it was cold that night so I wasn't really able to get a grasp of the outdoor area however the interior was electric and it seemed quite spacious, music was good and the beer was cheap. I would have to revisit during the summer on a busier night to get a true feel of the place but certainly one of a kind spot.

If you're looking for a unique spot with great atmospheres , Riverside should be your go-to destination. I've been a big fan since it's re-branding back in June 2019 in part because of it's top notch service, great drinks and versatile vibes (great spot for day drinking but also for a fun night out). Unwind outside, dip your toes in the sand or bust a move on the indoor dance floor... all of this, seconds away from downtown.

Terribly disappointing. We had a reservation for over 16 people for a friend's birthday booked over a week and a half in advance. Less than 48 hours before the event, we find out from another friend who tried to make a reservation the same night that Riverside will be closed due to a private event. We reached out to confirm that our reservation was still set, only to hear back a day before the event that our reservation has been cancelled. Completely unacceptable as a business to treat customers this way and offer nothing but a mere "sorry for the the inconvenience!" Very unprofessional as well that had we not reached out, we likely would've not even been contacted about the cancellation. We are now left to find somewhere else to accommodate 16+ guests, which will likely be impossible on such short notice. Would give Riverside 0 stars if it was possible. Prioritizing a corporate event over repeat customers. Unfortunately you've lost us as customers and all of our guests.

Ambiance here is so fun and friendly. The outdoors are great and our waitress Carolina was very nice. Drinks are good with fair prices. I recommend for a good summer hangout in Montreal. This place is 15min walk from St-Henri station and has a few parking places on premisses.

Whether you're a St-Henri local or not, this spot feels like home - staff is always warm and inviting, the drinks & vibe is absolutely incredible. Hands down, my favourite spot! Also, UNREAL food truck options & they always have cool events - pop up art, comedy nights, co-working during the day, basketball court, and a ton more. Also, access from the canal - EPIC to drop in for a drink after biking all afternoon. Everything that is cool about summertime in Montreal is embodied in this place. Check it out!

We went to Café Malté, their little coffee shop just by Canal Lachine. It's an awesome spot to stop at for a cold brew after a little walk along the canal. It's super dog friendly, they also have some frozen treats for dogs. Chelsea was super sweet and friendly and the coffee was very tasty. It's really a little hidden gem on the Canal.

Great club with a nice terasse perfect for a summer party. The road entrance is not so great and the garbage containers are right there so it smells really bad the minute you arrive... The smoke area is where you get in so you need to smell that as well... Nice place but could be organized better.

Visited a few weeks ago, once they were under new management. Outside terrace was very large, perfect atmosphere for outdoor drinking with friends and having a conversation. Inside is larger than expected, and provided a transition into more of night scene, with dance floor and DJ. Staff was great, drinks well priced, and the general setting and scene along with the attitude of other patrons was very positive and energetic. Had a great time, and will be back!

Very fun and fresh space - volley ball and basketball courts, ping pong and pool table, the terrace is very nice. We were there for an event, so not sure if the DJ comes with the place, but the music was a nice touch. Bartenders were very nice. A pleasant experience all in all.

I would leave zero stars if I could. The food and cocktails is mediocre for the price and to make it even worse the staff and management are completely rude especially the bouncers and bar staff . They made my cocktail wrong and refused to replace it. The manager/barman said that’s what I ordered since since he made it himself . The vibe, music, and food feels ridiculously hipster cliché. I’m sure they don’t care if I spend my money somewhere else

Went here on a Saturday 9pm-3am close. Super chill, music a bit on the loud side at times if you're trying to talk. Got really busy 11-2am, packed a bit like sardines. Mostly groups of friends in this place if you wanna go for a date, I'd suggest earlier like 7-10. Vibe was super chill as were the people (more men than women when I went). DJ was spinning a mix of music all fun, some 90s, some Drake and Sean Paul, a mix. A lot of strangers came to talk to me and my friend, everyone was friendly and it was refreshing for people to just have their guard down, non pretentious and just want to connect with other people. The bartender was great too, she would mentally keep a check on the order people were waiting and when it was my turn I was looking elsewhere she even tapped my shoulder instead of skipping me. They were serving food til late, not sure when the kitchen closes or if it was a special event. They have table bottle service and I saw reserved signs on some tables. My only complaint is my gin and tonic wasn't great and it's a simple drink, the tonic was super flat.

It's a really great concept. An outdoor patio with tons of activities. You can shoot pool, play basketball, beach volleyball and ping pong. The decor is beautiful, most of the structure is made out of cargo containers, giving it a strange mix of Tiki bar and industrial. The cons are that for a bar called Riverside, you don't see the river - at least not from the seated area, didn't go all the way back. Drinks are on the pricey side. You can pay up to 20 bucks for a cocktail, beer is 8-10$. There seemed to be some kind of BBQ going on, but it seemed to be for regulars only, at least that was the vibe we got.

Place is ok. Bouncers were impolite and unecessarily forceful. We were warned not to have a drink on the smoking side of the terrasse, and although I was just passing by with my drink not knowing the rules, we stopped drinking there. My wife came later and, not knowing the rules, she took a sip from my glass on the terrasse. We tried explaining, but the bouncer wouldn't hear it and simply emptied both our drinks in the floor. It was my birthday...

Off the hook! Great area - Amazing service. The terasse is beautiful and the people are relaxed. A better place for day drinking could not be found! The music was pure classic hip hop and chill electronica. At night - the vibe changed to more of a club scene but they still kept the energy high. I'm more of a day drinking kind of guy and with the sun out - it's an excellent hang. Let me end this with the best part - There's a food truck that parks nearby. I'm not sure if it's the same one each time - but that, my friends is a stroke of genius. There is nothing more appreciated than a good snack when you're all done having a good time. Can I give 6 stars??

Great atmosphere and excellent service. We went with a group of friends and following a recommendation of one of them, last Summer. Really nice place, very clean, nice staff and music. I presume we arrived early, because after one hour and a half, around 9:30pm it was so crowded! Recommended!

The service took a long time for our group, one of my friends only was able to get served a single drink in the course of an hour. Others had missed or incorrect orders. Overall vibe was alright. Everyone at the bar had to leave at 9 pm for a second service when we were still ordering / trying to be served. We got asked for a last call drink order then were asked to leave about 10 minutes after. Not a great experience from a service standpoint.

Very interesting place to come visit. It looked small from the outside but when you go in, you realize how big the venue is. The inside was nicely decorated and the outside terrasse had it's own dj / music. Great place and I loved the music here. Nice place for a drink with friends. There was some dance areas but I found it better suited for drinking and chatting.

The bartender was a sweetheart, super kind and super chill. The drinks were strong and well crafted. The music is nicer inside. I personally don't like that the bathrooms are mixed, guys were explicitly happy to see girls there which I hated. At least if it's mixed I'd rather not see urinary. The crowd is 18-23, but I was told sometimes it's late 20s. Would come back with a different crowd.

Bar near residential area can't sleep and work on the weekends music too loud. Bar does not have signs to tell people to not go screaming in the neighbourhood worst thing that ever happened this summer and the owner does not care about the local people living near. I can't believe that they put this bar right next to appartements with children not safe to go home at night.

Had I not just seen this bar featured in a Quebec vaccine passport commercial, paid for by the Legault government, I would have said it's a nice place to hang out. Any bar or restaurant who complies with this corrupt government in allowing them to take the freedoms of it's people will see more negative reviews from me, and there are many more like me. You sure you still wanna deny people service, or are you happy losing money?

Don't mistake the hip location and slick decor to mean this place is good; the bar staff lack any reasonable experience and the service is terrible. The place is pretentious and unfriendly. Even if you get in don't expect the serving staff to notice you unless you wave a chair over your head. Its a shame a location like this is run so badly. Head to Tequila Bar, Terrace Ste Ambroise or anywhere else nearby.

Anyone going to a terrasse in Quebec in the last week should expect some hiccups, it's silly to rate 1 or 3 stars when everyone is just getting back up to speed. We had a great time at Riverside tonight, the drinks were great, the food was delicious, our server Chelsea was fantastic, and our experience was excellent. We'll definitely be back soon!

Like others have said, cool spot for music and drinks, whether to chill on the terrasse or a more clubby feel on weekends. But why is everyone saying prices are reasonable? 6-7$ for a 250 ml glass of beer is downright robbery.

Very cool spot. However I have a big concern for the welfare of the dogs that seem to always be there. The 2 Frenchies being exposed to the loud music for a prelonged period of time for what seems to be a regular basis. During our visit we recorded the decible of the music being at an average of at least 90. Damage to a dogs hearing begins at 85 decimals. I feel so sad for these dogs. Can they not stay home at club hours and only come during the day time? It's animal cruelty. Other then that I would have gave 5 stars.

Went there for an office party, agreed there were a lot more people they can fit in but the place overall had a decent vibe going for them. Was fun but definitely needed a bit of room. Good location, easy to find and fun little place to hang out (not for an office party!) EDIT: I am reconsidering the stars I gave, pretty sure this was not the issue from the St Henri's owners to control the crowd that comes in! The place is definitely amazing and as I mentioned you should visit this to have a nice time around the canal! Nick please keep doing to the amazing work you are doing! Went on a Saturday night (end of summer) for my friends birthday. It was extremely crowded, could barely move inside and outside. There is no a dress code so you can wear what you want. Funky and unexpected location, located next to an abandoned warehouse. Logo is projected on the wall, which was pretty original. There is only street parking but you can easily find spots. There is no cover fee which is great but I would recommend arriving early to avoid any lineups at the entrance. It's a hipster and trendy vibe. Great music and affordable drinks. Bottles are reasonably priced but there was a lack in service in regards to our table. Good place for a casual night with friends.

Me and my friends( btw we were 3 people of color)went there yesterday for around 5:30 for a 5@7or the first time . Heard its a nice and cozy place. While at the entrance we got refuse systematicly. Because its a private event. We verified before hand to head there. On the social media and website nothing were mention is not close for and private party or only for reservation. We felt that we are just a second class citizen not part of the privilege community or just a random customer thats not wanted to be accepr because of our color. The waitress just coulda help us get a table or smth. Place at terrasse was not crowded even inside. Who just got denied as simply and blaming.on covid and she say sorry private event while some peopel go inn without name and go trough to their so call g-list. Anyways... to my fellow POC. Dont go there.!! You might get refuse like us.

Riverside has been my summer spot since last year, it's sick! The terasse is awesome and in a great location, very clever spot to open up a bar! Great food as well! Rly cool spot, built into the side of an abandoned industrial building. Looks kinda whatever from the outside but trust me on the inside it is gorgeous. A must-see spot in Mtl. This place is the best. Large terrace with its own bar and DJ, dog-friendly!!! Lots of space, and chill up-beat vibe. Inside becomes a club atmosphere, smoke, different DJ, very comfortable booths for bottle service, and some sweet interior decor if u ask me. Having 2 diff DJs makes the atmosphere so dynamic. You can step inside and you're in a totally different environment .... Or step outside and wind down a bit. There's space for bottle service outside as well... And there's even a food-truck with some FIRE poutine which is actually VERY affordable. Smoking area is large, bar is well-stocked and not at all cramped. You gotta check this place out it has something for everybody.

Really fun place to come with friends in the evening, vibe is amazing and easy to find parking. The downside is that the drinks are not strong and insanely expensive. (50$ for a pitcher filled with ice) The only reason I come here is for how much fun it is but it shouldn't be legal to charge those prices.

Riverside is by far my favorite place to go in the summer. The atmosphere of the terrace is like no other with good music and a big outdoor bar. Staff is always nice and provides great service. Highly recommend!

FINALLY! A dog friendly place in the area that's not super cramped! I love that at the end of a nice walk on the canal there's a place to sit down and have a drink with the puppy. The service is great and super friendly and the drinks are refreshing and reasonably priced. I haven't tried the food yet but I will for sure next time I go!

I called to make a reservation on August 10th, for my birthday for 20+ people over labour day weekend. I called weekly to follow up on the vaccine passport situation, since I'm not a Quebec resident, and wanted to assure that I would be let in to my own birthday celebration. I called on August 31st for a final confirmation regarding the vaccine passport, and the documents I would need to bring with me, only to find out that they had to CANCEL my reservation because they FORGOT they had a WEDDING booked for that day. They had multiple opportunities to inform me that there was a scheduling conflict, instead I have to find out less than 5 days before my reservation that I have to find somewhere else to accommodate 20+ people. The hostess I spoke to did go out of her way to find an alternate option for me, which was much appreciated, but none the less, this was completely unacceptable on Riverside's end. They didn't even offer me anything for the inconvenience. If it was a reservation for 2-4 people, then it's not a big deal, but this was supposed to be a party of 20+, that I was specifically flying into Montreal for, to celebrate my birthday... I am incredibly disappointed in the way this was handled. Especially coming from a bar that came so highly recommended.

You have to go through the smoking section to go to the terrasse from outside. There's not a lot of room outside, it's very cramped. It's dog friendly which is nice but not enough space for a dog to safely sit beside your chair. Music is loud and not great. Feels faux pretentious. We walked in and right back out.

Very rude bouncers I agree with people who wrote bad reviews about them. They are searching for trouble. Also the reply for bad reviews is very unprofessional, I mean you don't get the names of all the people who enter, my friend reserved a table and 12 people came in without registering their names. I am not surprised of these kinds of answers to bad reviews since the people who represent the place "pretending to be the owner" seem to be uneducated and far from knowing how to treat clients.

Fast service and nice vibes. The veggy burger wasn't the best but the meat one was good. We had a mojito pitcher to start and that wasn't the best choice (it seems like there was not alcohol at all inside) so we decided to continue with a beer pitcher. One thing I don't understand is why every drink they present you the bill even if you did not ask for it yet.. it gave me a bit of anxiety.

I've never gone out of my way to review something but for this place I wanted to just convince as many people as possible to not go. This place is so disorganized I waited in line for over an hour, and just never ended up getting inside. I saw so many groups of people leave, and the bouncer just didn't want me to let people in. Additionally the place was empty I didn't see anyone inside the bar. And anyone who said they knew someone just got in for free. My only purpose with this review is to convince as many people as possible to not go here

The beer is well priced and the patio has a nice atmosphere. The bartenders say you need a $30 minimum to pay with card when it gets a little bit busy which I find kind of weird. Plus the first tip percent option is 18%.

The place is very unfriendly and the staff is rude. The bathrooms were unsanitary and a breeding place for bacteria and diseases. They're bouncers were absolutely useless as they sit around like couch potatoes and don't provide some kind of safety in corners of the bar. Would not recommend this place to anyone who values good vibes, safety and friendliness.

This place is a hidden gem! We held my daughter's wedding their a few weeks ago and it was a wonderful event. Many of the guests commented what a relaxed and fun wedding it was and they loved the venue. I cannot say enough about how grateful we were to Justin for the support and guidance he provided to us leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding the staff were more than helpful!. Thanks Riverside St. Henri, great memories were made.

Heyyyy! Last time I went here was two years ago. I decide to go back last night with a couple of girlfriends when I heard that management had changed. Anddd....... I had an amazing time. I really want to thank the staff mostly, as the service compared to the old riverside was night and day. They were quick and very friendly. The crowd was super chill too. NO CREEPERS :). Riverside is now definitely on my go to places. P.s. Hands up for the DJs ;)

The bouncer was very disrespectful he kicked out my friend because “he thought” she wasn’t wearing a mask while she was. He was very rude and spoke to her in an aggressive way. My friend was very polite and didn’t want to answer him so she walked away but he followed her and told her that he doesnt want people with attitude inside the bar and that clients like her are not welcome. Thats not a way you treat your clients, very unprofessional.

Great place to hang out in a quickly developing area. The largest terrace I’ve seen in town with a unique location beside the old malting silos and right by the river. Inviting staff and well stocked bar. Inside and out you won’t be disappointed during your visit. I’ll be sure to visit again sometime soon!
