I go to the Limelight karaoke bar every time I have a good voice day. I’ve been going since mid December and I’ve loved every night I’ve been there. Friendly and attentive staff, on the 14 route (runs decently late and gets you to portage well within a transfer’s time), and nobody bats an eye when my pre-HRT self walks into the ladies room! Definitely recommend for solo or with friends! Give them your money so they can buy new mics! Miscellaneous pros: pretty good hot tap water for warming up your voice, They turn on the blacklights every Saturday PS: Get the beef smokie with brie and curly fries

I've been going to Limelight regularly (3-4 times a month usually) for the last 3 years, and I love it to bits. The staff is friendly, they have a great song selection, and it's very cozy. Quiet during the week, so if you want to sing a lot, that's the best time to go. Busy on Friday and Saturday, but it had such a great energy to it. 5 stars all the way!

Worst karaoke in the city. If you don't know the host, and don't want to pay them to skip the line, don't expect to get many if any songs in. It's definitely NOT first come first serve, people in with the host often get 2-3 songs in before you'll get one. Go somewhere with a board where you sign up and can see it publicly.

We sat outside on the patio, but had to keep going in to get drinks as the server was alone on shift and couldn't come outside. She was extremely friendly however, and doing a great job of things on her own. We ordered food as well and the nachos were really tasty. They had a decent menu available for other food too.

Went here for a friend's birthday and ordered the platter: wings, fries, and nachos. Everything was going down good until near the end when I ate a moldy fry and immediately ran to the bathroom to throw up. Wasn't drinking either. Been sober for over a year. I ask to get the meal comped and they get the manager who sees that the platter was almost done and refuses to comp it despite my urge to puke in the wing bucket. His reasoning, oh no one else is feeling sick. What a db! Food poisoning can take up to a few hours or days. My friend ended up sick with food poisoning within 24hrs of us eating here and was sick for a few days. Horrible bday present. That's for sure. Don't order any food from this place whatsoever!!!!

Been going here for over 10 years. The karaoke bar is one of the best in the city. 7 days a week you can rock out with your friends or have birthday parties. Its not as busy since the renovations happened some time ago but its newer! Plus the staff are all amazing.

Limelight is always enjoyable for some local Kareoke and the best place for it that I’ve come across in Winnipeg. Plus some nights they do a fun “erotic bingo” before the Kareoke which was amusing and quite hilarious. Surprised at how many attend so I would say to get there ahead of time to secure a section of seats. Super fun though !

Great place to sing karaoke it’s easy to sing on weeknights when the crowd is lower, the weekends tend to be pretty busy but the DJ’s do their best to get singers up. The food is incredible. The bar staff are always friendly serving with a smile, the prices are reasonable and the environment is intoxicating (no pun intended). ????????????

The door guy is so slow and just looks at you like your a criminal and harassed me the whole night. The rest of the staff was fine despite almost jumping the door guy for trying to hard to talk to my girlfriend and making her feel uncomfortable ill give it 4 stars but i will lower it if this happens a 3rd time but id also raise it if they get a new doorman

Limelite is a great place for karaoke. The drinks aren't expensive, the atmosphere is fun, and the location isn't bad either. Easy to catch a bus or a cab to and from the bar. The only downside I've noticed is that the hosts play favourites and manipulate the order so that their friends can get more turns. Regardless, its always a fun night out at the Limelite.

Limelight is so much fun! Come here ready to dance & sing. It’s all about having fun! ☺️ bar is a little pricey, but that’s okay. Only problem is when leaving the bar as it’s downstairs and upstairs is not monitored, meaning sometimes the intoxicated will linger a little too long and sometimes harass others as they try enter the establishment or leave.

I have no idea where this is. But the bartender looked kinda similar to my coworker, which is a good thing. Drinks were very reasonably priced. Crowd was on point. Had a good time. Great venue, great memories. Never disappoints.

The host Ally like to puts people down the list and sings before some people get to sing. I’ve been here 3 times for karaoke and everytime it’s the same. The HOST should be WORKING not singing. Very disappointed. Also my friend came before me and I’m singing before her very poor service from her.

I have been going to The Limelight with my friends now for many years. it is like a Cheers bar, from the famous sitcom, in that we always have had a good time, because we see other people we know there, that we did not expect to see. It is always good to see my friend, one of the bouncers, who I used to see doing security in the 1980s. I grew up in Fort Garry and we used to frequent The Norlander because they always had the best bands there. We always felt safe there and the security was very good. I find now that many of the bars in Winnipeg, seem to have a big drug problem with the younger crowd. I am from the older crowd and we don't seem to fit in with the patrons of most of these bars, nowadays. Perhaps, because the staff knows me here, they treat me better, but I can't believe how friendly the staff are, considering I am not a big drinker and maybe bad for business profits. At The Limelight, we always feel safe, the singers are great and the food is superb. Try their pizzas, you won't be disapointed.

Pretty chill, only has one pool table but I wasn't there for that, wings were delicious! Their burger week advertises as sweet and spicy but it was more sweet that spice. Still good though

A blast from the past. This place has been around for a very long time. Hasn't changed much and they have karaoke as well. At least the Saturday night that we went. Drinks are resonably priced. They have one pool table as well.

Bar staff is excellent. Nightly karaoke is always good - the stage takes it to the next level. The bathrooms are clean enough, but not pristine. But the food.. just eat before you go. That is what took this place from 5 to 4 stars. But I don't go there to eat, I go there for drinks and karaoke.

Good song choices. No board to show signed up singers so there are times it seems host does not follow order of people signed up. You will see people walk in and sing before you even though you clearly signed up first

Honestly I'm not one who enjoys giving a bad review just for the sake of it but sadly I can't say too many positive things about the Riverside. Firstly, service was well below par. I sat for quite some time before having to get up and go to the bar to place an order. I am well capable of doing so but it defeats the purpose of having serving staff (of which there were two of) if they're not going to take your order. Then once I got to the bar I was literally ignored for about 7 or 8 minutes while the entire staff chatted approximately ten feet away looking at me as if I was a nuisance for wanting to place an order. Then finding a table that looked like it had been cleaned in this decade was a challenge to say the least. I know it sounds like nitpicking but if you're trying to entice people into coming into your establishment, correcting some of these things might be looked into - as well as maybe learn when to cut some people off. There were two individuals in there that were well past the point of the night being called for them. I get it - it's a bar and people are there to drink and enjoy themselves, but screaming at the top of their lungs and falling out of their chairs and noting being said or done is not pleasing for your other patrons. Just a thought.
