Today I tried a open face steak sandwich with salad for lunch and it re-affirmed my belief that Shannon's is one of the best places to go for a drink and bite in the city. It's a large space so you can always find a table (whether it's a secluded booth or in the open area near the performers stage) and not feel claustrophobic. They have an extensive selection of beer and always have cheap drink specials. The 3 pool tables and dart boards are awesome too. Good times are always had, and the staff had always been friendly. Amazing fries, great service, good place! A solid selection of drinks. The singer who was there that night was talented and entertaining. The beer selection is great. Some great Irish pub food on the menu, the lamb burger has a great flavour profile. In true pub style they serve a great Roti as well. The Guinness on tap is always fresh. Service is sometimes a little slower but it is a great place to hang out. Pool table is usually easy to get on for a quick game. Laid back and fun place to to go in downtown Winnipeg.

Great bar and nice atmosphere. The bartenders were friendly as they suppose to be. Didn't like that they have two dart boards and only one set of darts. So we had to wait for 25 minutes for other people to finish their game. Otherwise it was a great night, music was good, although a bit too loud.

Well, first off the food here is excellent. I had the Steak Stout and Potato Pie... the steak was tender, the portions were massive, and everything was very delicious. The pub itself leaves something to be desired... upon walking in I got the impression I was in someones basement rec-room bar, which mainly serves locals playing pool. However, they played great music, and the food made me forget where I was (try sitting at the booths behind the bar if you'd rather be low-key). Service was very slow, but my waitress was alone on a busy night and kept her sunny composure.

After having a good night at this placeAnd spending over $70 I was going to pay my tab and when I had a question about my bill one of the servers or what ever the hell he was got all up in my face and tried to start a fight with me and the managers just tired to defend him by saying I was yelling at him ( " talking over the music"). I love this place. Always come here when I have meetings downtown. Love the atmosphere. Pretty good beer - I would like to see more local (Manitoba) brew. Food is pretty standard pub fare. Only downside might be the last two visits (Friday at 4pm and Tuesday at 6pm) all the bar maids had beards.

Shannon's Irish Pub is definitely one of my favourite watering holes in Winnipeg. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming for both locals and tourists. The food tastes great and the selection of drinks are great as well. Usually my go-to drinks there are Murphy's Irish Stout, Bushmills and cola, and Half Pints. There's also some great deals throughout the week like on Tuesdays, wings are on special all day along with tequila shots at $2.50 and jager shots at $3. There is Karaoke every Tuesday night, and it's always packed and full of people enjoying the service and music. The staff are very laid back and their service is excellent. If you ever want a great place to hang out with friends, Shannon's Irish Pub is a great decision!

Me and my girlfriend decided to give this place a try after the cfl fan fest event across the street; in the rbc convention centre. We walked in and they just looked at us. We sat down, waited for 30 minutes and didn’t get any service. Not even a hello or menu to look at. We got up to leave and all they did was just look away. The place wasn’t even busy or full at the time. I’d say about 20 people in total. Worst downtown experience I’ve ever had. I recommend Browns, Rudys or Pony corral instead.

Good spot for karaoke and shootin' some pool while having a beer. There is an actual stage so you get more attention and space while you sing. I'm a bit wary of eating anything there or any other place in that building after seeing a roach in the main floor lobby. Not sure if it's a building wide issue or only located in one area. There are bug traps in the double doors to the main floor. Just saying.

Shannon's is a dive! In every great sense of the word. Dark, Dingy, Loud, sometimes full of Loogan's, this pub is not the place to come if you want to visit a dive bar with your friend because it seems cute. Shannon's is a fun, odd and raucous place to be on any given weekend. Pint of Guinness or Kilkenny always in hand, listen to some live music and find a spot. A spot at a table, the bar, a bench or the odd little booths tucked away in a nook in the back, doesn't matter, you will be entertained.

This is where I met the love of my life so I'm a little biased however I've come here to get drunk a couple times and i enjoyed the variety of drinks and the waitresses are always kind and considerate and brought our drinks quickly. The atmosphere is nice, very relaxing and the lighting is just right. Dark where you want it to be and light where you need it. I always have fun here but also always spend too much.

We were seated in a alcove and our waitress barely came to serve us. My order was forgotten but eventually I got it, on my receipt it said rush rush forgot. So i know it was forgotten. The group I met here come on a regular basis and they even said they've never had such bad service.

Guinness and mushroom soup was amazing, chicken wings were crispy and flavourful and the fish and chips were quite good but fairly standard. Service from the bartender with the Irish accent completed the experience very nicely! Will be back for that soup and a pint of Harp beer for sure!

First of all I want to state that I would never normally leave a one star for anything. I was recently in Winnipeg on business as I travel a lot and I check out a lot of pubs and restaurants in Canada. I was staying at a hotel near downtown and wanted to check out something fairly close and I am normally a fan of diners or divey type ambiance so I decided to check out Shannon's Irish Pub based on a review on here. So I got a cab to take me there and being female I usually know what to expect heading to these places, I went with another female colleague although I know she is more of the martini Earl's type. I promised her we would have a good time and "divey" bars are just a name and it's not actually scary to be at. Well boy was I wrong. The location was in a super strange spot, the service was horrible. I am not sure if the server was jealous because we were females but the clientele was really rough and mainly men who looked like they had been there all day. The bathrooms were very very dirty, no paper towels or soap !!!! The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The food tasted like it was heated up in the microwave and the beer was flat and over priced . I realize the last review on this place was over 15 months ago so I felt like it was my place to inform you that this place is not what the other reviews make it seem. It is not a dive...It is a DUMP!!!! I am quite easy to please and I really think that maybe at one point in time this may have truly been a dive bar with decent food and live music but I am afraid that is no more. I would avoid this place at all costs and I was extremely disappointed as I had many places I could have gone and tried but convinced my friend that this was the place.

Hmm the last review, must have been a friend of the establishment or something. I agree with the other viewers, the service was terrible, waited for the server and it wasn't even busy! then the beer was flat! I think the biggest turn off was the unkempt bathrooms. I have a thing with that, if the bathroom isn't clean, I cringe to think what the kitchen is like. I hope the management, cleans up their act and or takes a look at these reviews. I know I wont go back again

My wife and I have been to Shannon's a couple of times now. The first time was during the Jets game five victory over Nashville. The place was packed with enthusiastic fans and the staff was fantastic at keeping their tables served. After the game we were lucky to be entertained by the talented Joe Curtis Band. Our second visit to Shannon's was karaoke night which was a blast. Overall expect a great local pub experience with good service and food. The beer selection is ample enough whet one's whistle and the food menu is honest food done well. We'll definitely be back.

Went after a Jets game expecting Irish music. Got a cover band who were overly loud, unbalanced voices/instruments, good musicians who artistically sucked. Left after a couple of beers. Pub itself OK.

Went there for the typicall wannabe Irish day festivities. Music was to loud. Asides from that it was okay. The food was good. Service is attrocious. The servers are great but management stinks. I got charged for a beers I didn't even order. I unfortutnaely didn't check my receipt. When I called today they said there was nothing they were willing to do. Also they charge cover, what the hell is up with that? Seriously it's winnipeg not LA or New York, or anywhere remotely cool. Though it is remotely cold. I would not recommend this place, nor will i give them my patronage again.

We were looking for a more chill vibe for after dinner drinks. Fast forward to us belting out Queen during their Saturday Karaoke night which was a total blast. Drink were reasonably priced especially considering it's downtown. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to have a few and some good convo. They have VLTs, darts and pool table FYI

I had a horrible experiance. Besides the talented live band. The bar tender assaulted my husband because he thought he was drunk. We had two pints of beer. And my husband walked by the bar his jacket got caught on the bar stool and knocked it over. The bar tender cut him off. Then came to our table and saw a beer at our table. He assumed my husband was drinking it, even though the glass was full. And assaulted him. I got in his face and he let go of him. But to put this in perspective. We are in our mid 30s, we know how to handle our booze and dont get out of hand. We dont go out often and wanted to grab a couple beers at a chill bar. We will NEVER go there again. This occurred on Friday night October 12. Response to the manager: No plans on contacting your business regarding further concerns. As I said I'll never go back, nor will friends who were with us, or other friends I've told. It's bad review. Based on a bad experience from a bar tender that seems think hes worked soo long he thinks he can assault customers. Based on his assumptions. And yes he did assault my husband, no need for the quotations. So Thanx but no thanx.
