A Winnipeg institution! Sure it's cold in the winter and boiling in the summer. Sure it's rundown and not the best decor. Sure the bathroom and kitchen are look a little sketchy. However, you'd be hard-pressed to find a place that feels more like home! One of the best places to catch live music in the city

High & Lonesome feels like it should be in The Exchange District, in an older building, with very experienced furnishings, and a really friendly vibe. It has a bare bones ambiance, and the clientele are there for the content, not the looks. The stage is pretty low, and it almost feels like the band is playing in your Rec Room. No air conditioning, but what a great place to spend a hot summer night.

This is a storied Music venue, and artists from all over Canada (and indeed, the world) perform this little club with big character. Enjoy the memorabilia all over the walls, the show posters past and present, the kitschy and the rustic. Grab a Standard, find a seat (or don’t), and enjoy the tunes.

Don't come for the food. It's pub grub at its grubbiest but it usually has a unique performance on the generous stage. There is definitely a community feel here with lots of regulars. It's blue jeans and loose shirts. 100% Winnipeg. Bottle beer only which is a bit disappointing but there are a few local beers with sampling.

This is the best place in town to see live music. Styles will range all across the board but the focus is on roots blues and rock & roll. Intimate venue with world class live bands! Home to a blues jam on Sunday evenings that has been hosted by Winnipeg Blue legend Big Dave MacLean for over twenty years! I don't really like to go to bars anymore but I'd go to this bar any night of the week (but they're only open Thursday to Sunday)

Super cool joint for some good live music and cold beer. I was here on a sunday night for the blues jam. Being from Georgia and surrounded by great Americana music I was interested to see what Winnipeg had to offer. I walked out with a smile on my face. I wish I remembered the name of the guy leading the jam but he was fantastic as were all the musicians who signed up to play. Well done High And Lonesome Club. Not a big fan. Live band was on, seating was limited. The service staff did nothing to try to help find chairs or a place for us to sit. The band was ok, not my style but that's no reflection on the establishment. Prices were decent. It's a smaller bar so don't expect the largest selection of drink choices/variety. We stayed for 2 drinks and had to leave due to not being able to navigate around the crowded place to find ourselves seats or space to stand even.

Favourite music venue in the city! Love the dive bar aspect. Your typical drink selection and fast service. Note there usually is cover to get in. Parking is available across the street which is convenient. Get there early for a show if you want a place to sit. Great vibe, cool atmosphere and good crowd.
