We came in with a birthday party of 22, mostly family. We were there by 830. The range of ages were 35 to 75. More than half of us were from out of town. Amazed that the security used a weapon wand on all of us, but no ID scanner. One of our party was a daughter of one from out of towners who came a little later. She was denied entry because she was under 21, she's 20. Isn't BC drinking age still 19? I understand they may have issues with young rowdy ones, but come on a tiny 20 year old girl with her Mom, Aunt & uncle and their friends? So the 5 who traveled from Surrey had to leave with her. We were denied our cover charge back even though the band had not stated yet. So, they lost out on a whole lot of business because of this. Dear owners, you have some highly intelligent employees on the door.

I was not at this establishment, but I had the displeasure of walking past it on my way to catch a cab last night. One of the bouncers from the Grotto was walking up Victoria St from 3rd Ave, splashing/dumping a large bottle of beer in his wake, which he splashed on my brand new $200 suede leather shoes, completely ruining them. When I asked him what the reason for this was, he simply told me to “wash it off.”

the best spot to be on the weekend! friendly staff, courteous ,polite , personable, and above all i feel safe as a kitten:) or safe as a raven, when ì`m missbehaven! iam 39, so i really appreciate a crowd my age, and the bands are always worth comen out to view and my favorite, dance with!!!

I like this place. It has live bands, as well as a DJ for when the bands take a break. It's location is downtown. They have coatcheck, as well as seating outside on the street, sectioned off for it's customers, whom want to smoke or just visit with others and cool off. It's got pool tables and some vending machines, and a raised area about a foot above the rest of the nightclub.

Have been to the Blue Grotto quite a few times. The last one was to see Texas Flood (great band). The venue is decent, with a variety of seating options. There are booths as well as tables with stools, and there is a dance floor available for people who want to shake that thing. There are also a couple of pool tables available for a quick friendly game. The drink selection is average and the prices too. Service is on point. My only real issue is that they don't serve any food - now this may be due to their licencing, or the fact that they are more a a nightclub than a bar or pub, or perhaps it just comes down to the fact that they don't have a kitchen. Whatever the reason, I just wish I could satisfy my palate as well as my thirst whilst enjoying the live entertainment.

Danced to Mostly Marley and we had a blast. The drinks are reasonable and the staff is friendly. I know it's easier said than done, but a little bar food would have been great. We will definitely return when we're in Kamloops.

Live music here was great on a Saturday night. The crowd was mostly older people which is not bad they are usually very nice and down to earth. The staff were professional. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to be around people who aren't full of themselves.
