The service and location were great. The suite was well decorated (curtains, antique style dresser, wallmount tv with full cable, nice furniture), bit small sq. Ft. but the toilets flapper needed to be manually reset each flush.

Great as usual . Love the place

Price okay but beds were single beds . Doubles would have sufficed for price but I was grateful no credit card was needed just a cash deposit. Would return .

Went to have breakfast here, really delicious and large portions.

Very poor customer service and they don’t care about after the payment. We stayed there last week and front staff was very rude, when we asked her for the water in the room she strictly said no we can’t provide I. The room and you can come downstairs and can get from there. ..,,,, No good experience

This is our second time staying here. Really enjoy staying in the older well maintained accommodations. Beware, that there are rooms that share washroom facilities or a few rooms with a private bath. Also no elevator, but that should be no problem since you have spent all day hiking or walking around town. Parking can be an issue. Our room had no air conditioning (such a first world problem) but evenings were cool enough in August for a comfortable sleep.

we just got back from a family wedding in jasper and we stayed in the Athabasca hotel. while the hotel is very old, it had a really nice atmosphere. we had quite a few family members staying there and it was quite nice running up and down the stairs to each others rooms. yup, no elevators but it is only 3 floors. the rooms are small and there aren't any of the fancy amenities like a pool or gym but the main lobby was a great place to hang out and there are a couple of bars as well there. the hotel staff was very nice and helpful. the location was perfect, right in the middle of town. great to walk anywhere and the restaurants were amazing. the beds and pillows were amazing! fresh air and great beds and amazing mountain views! what more can you ask for!

I really wanted to like this hotel because it felt cozy and plush, but I wouldn't stay here again. Pros- easy walking distance, good size room, windows that opened and ceiling fan (see cons), as well as a sweet little Australian desk clerk who was very helpful, and great views. Cons- no AC, even with the furnace off our west facing room was really warm. No mini fridge or microwave. Plug ins in really awkward spots and not many of them. Hair in the bath tub (second room). Large Empty booze bottle and disgusting crusty rag behind the head board of one of the beds in second room (switched after first night due to smoke detector needing something done, it was beeping). Candy bar wrapper behind the night table in first room. No elevator (which wasn't a deal for us but could be for others). While I really appreciated the girl at the desk and her customer service, the older portly gentleman that was on the next day completely brushed off my comments when we checked out and told me that it was already taken care of and that the staff (particularly a female) had been informed. He completely interrupting me as I was explaining my concerns, which I found quite rude I know stuff gets missed, but after the way the second room was and the customer service- we wont be staying again by choice.

Everything From check in, to Restaurant to bar, to slots, and every single staff member I came across! Unbelievably professional and exceptional! Meghan and the bar manager from Berlin (forgot to ask his name) went out of their way to make me feel at home! A wonderfully clean and quaint room all wrapped up in a hotel with a long history and a tin of character. I absolutely recommend this hotel above most others! Bravo Athabasca Hotel! Truly impressive!

On a last minute trip to Jasper we decided we would spend the night at this antique hotel, we had a lovely 3rd floor room, king size bed, fantastic views. Has a on-site bar, restaurant and located centrally in Jasper with all amenities within walking distance. Will definitely be booking additional nights in the future.

A tourist trap in Jasper Well, first of all – it should be named a “shelter” not a “hotel”. When I booked a room with a single queen size bed ($135/night) I couldn't imagine it would be a tiny, stuffy box with no shower and no toilet in the room. All it has - a shaky bed, a sink, a foot stool and a tiny corner shelve. If, in the middle of the night you feel like using a washroom you've got to get up, get dressed, walk through the hall to a common bathroom, struggle with the door lock and then walk back to the room, totally awake and try to go back to sleep. I was wondering, how it is possible to write 4-5 stars reviews after spending a night in this shelter? Not to mention, offering such a sub-standard service in 21st century? Nevertheless, we consider ourselves lucky, because we spent just one night there. Can't imagine staying there for a longer period of time.

A large beer selection and good food.

Blair is an excellent host. Our room is lovely, the hotel so perfectly reflects days past

The standard for hotel accommodations in Jasper, the Athabasca Hotel is a beautiful, historic hotel perfectly located in downtown Jasper.

Stayed for 3 nights Wednesday till Saturday morning September 9-11, 2020. Parking is free but limited and a bit tight for a Yukon. The rooms are fresh and clean. Beds were firm and comfortable. No a/c no big deal. We had our own private washroom. Windows open easily and mountain air is cool and fresh. Outside noise minimal. Food is good and servings are large. Only drawbacks are the stairs, no elevators for heavy luggages. Best place to drink. Happy hour pints are almost half price compared to the bars and restaurants on Connaught street. This is a great place to stay. Will be back again.

As a local, here's my spin...Sunday night are S(service) I(Industry) N(night), usually starts late in the evening as the service industry of Jasper blow off some steam after work and dance the night away. With a great DJ, the dance floor can be packed.
