I am not sure exactly who puts the trail signs up but OMGod cant someone take control and mark and direct the signs more precisely. Its obvious some trail signs are out dated.

too bad they don't give you a discount when you purchase a new sled late in the season. prorated.

Great trails! Great price on the permit and ordering/delivery was quick and easy . Thanks for all you do to give us great trails ????

LB (LB)

Purchased my trail permit online (because that's the only way to do it now) and it was never delivered. Because I didn't opt for their $15 tracking option, they say I need to file a POLICE REPORT, pay them another $15 for the replacement permit and you can guarantee I'll have to buy the $15 tracking this time around. No accountability on their end at all, they don't even give you their name when replying to emails. And good luck finding their phone number on their website! The WORST customer service I've ever experienced.

All the volunteers do a great job. But the higher ups need to do a better job with permits and such. And offering a free weekend that has no snow, should be a replacement date setup. To encourage more riders getting out on the trails.

Brent Turner

great job with the trails considering the last few winters One negative comment ofsc has forced us to do the permits online I have to do permits for a friend who has no credit card this limits some riders and the service charge and shipping is out of line $10.00 shipping that is not right $7.50 admin charge that must be to cover the Credit charge from visa or other credit cards I think your should rethink these charges or have a option to pick up permits Thanks Don

What are yous doing for us in North Bay ? Trails are shut down and we’re told to ride in our district which is closed ? Money back? I won’t buy a pass again for a few years I’ll get my money back in use with no passes for a few years

I went for a ride in the Ganaraska trail system on Friday night. I started off in Pontypool with seven of us in the group. The trails in Pontypool to the Ganaraska forest were in perfect shape. The trails half way to Bewdley were also perfect. We always stop for a break where the huge pine trees are in a gully around the Gardenhill area. Soon as we leave that spot the trails are awful. The whoops are deep and seems like the grooming stops. My family buys three permits a year and if there are not enough volunteers to groom the trails then they need to hire people to do them everyday or possibly every other day. Me or my machine shouldn’t have to sustain abuse because lack of manpower. You people know what you have to do! I know where the groomer sits and that’s all I see it doing. Come on Ganaraska trail system shape up and get them trails shaped up.

LpsSparkleDuck

BRUTAL trails, memberships go up each year... I'm not giving these crooks any money.

Murray Baker

Takes days to get a trail permit no good ripoff

Kai Nowak

No more trails in my area

Jason Rose

Excellent trail system . Trails are groomed to perfection and clearly marked. Great website with all the info you need!

Money money money.. Thats all they want... They set the guild lines for the early season discount and when I tried to get one before the 12:am mark the system glitched ..I started at 9:30 pm and at 11:45 it was still saying YOUR ORDER IS BEING PROCESSED.....when I called the office and explained to them I got a tart on the other end who told me its an MTO issue... So after numerous call to MTO without anyone returning my call I called my local MTO office and to my surprise it was an actual person.. She then gave me the number to Service ON . who told me it was an ofsc problem so I called them back just to get a sorry for your luck there is nothing I can do..its not like I don't have the proof.. I have screen shots of everything times and dates.. I feel that's its become all about the money with ofsc .. Very very disappointed with them ..what happened to the good old days when I could walk into my local dealer and buy a permit... Its not wondering why so many people risk going on the trails without permits

I feel sorry for all the hard working volunteers who do there best to make great trails. The OFSC is a terribly run organization. There web site fails and is awkward to use. The map app doesn't work this year ( really ...you had 3 seasons to build an app) Forget about customer service....if They make a mistake, it's like fight city hall to get it resolved. Dictated by legal wrangling, Government and law enforcement. They are losing land owner support like crazy as many refuse to deal with such a dysfunctional system. I would give hem 1 star if were not for the hard working volunteers....Go ride in Quebec!....There system and trails are far superior!!!

Tyler Nicholson

Horrible website!

Stephen Niblett

What happened to the Locate the groomer that you Hired Goldstar to do in 2014. Its 2018 and Quebec has this option. Pay more in Quebec for better trails. I would pay more if the system was better. But if I payed more and it stayed the same thats no good. It has to improve.

Terry Hartwick

local clubs are very dedicated, but the organization is most unaccountable. just attempt to contact them by phone. they refuse to post contact numbers on their website. this is an organization that started as a grass roots group and has morphed over the years into a bureaucracy that has become completely unaccountable to the end user.

Richard

Surprise surprise, no app.... just a website. Brutal. They could learn a lot from Quebec, they do it right.

A AR

The Trail system is not opened soon enough in the present and last year. The season is too short , so purchasing a permit does not provide the value to justify the cost.

Ryan Drexler

Our tails wouldn’t be the same without your help. Thanks for making the season safe and fun for all.

Amazing organization, best trails condition I have seen so far. Keep up the good work and I can't wait for the snowmobile season !

nice trail conditions

John & Halina Tylak

The club in our area (Haliburton) has continued to be lousy for the last 3 years at least, i am so fed up riding these trails to get to the good trails that boarder us on the east, west and north.... i buy our four passes from these other clubs now as they actually do there trails well, hopefully one day haliburton can get it together like the others!!

Tony Willis

the guys in Penetang and Midland do an awesome job keeping the trails open, i lost a tag last year and was able to pick up a replacement in Elmville within a few days

A wonderful organization! Without them, we wouldn't have any of the amazing trails that we do. Thank you for what you do!

Ordered permit online, arrived in eight days even with the postal strike. I was a bit worried because i did not get an email saying the permit was shipped, and i didn't pay extra for the tracking. I also received an email for a temporary trail permit in case mine was delayed in the postal system. Cant ask for any better service than that!

Andrea Walasek

Fantastic organization! Thankful for all the people who put in the time and effort to make the trails great!

Brock Deighton

Was very disappointed with conditions on secondary trails in the MSR. Large group of us will not be coming back to this region having experience poor trails for the last few years!!

Chris Lavergne

Most snow we have had in a long time. Worst trail conditions ever. Never mind how rough and beat they are but logs and tree branches on the trails. We even saw huge rock the groomer flipped up and just left on the trail. We couldn't move it so we marked it with some sticks before someone gets killed. VERY UNHAPPY LOTS OF PEOPLE WITH NO PASSES WHAT ARE WE PAYING FOR U TELL US TO SAY IN OUR AREA BUT IF YOU LIVE ON THE OUTER EDAE OF A TRAIL . YOU DONT GET LOOKED AFTER.

Ken

I would love to thank the clubs in Midland/Penetange as well as Wasaga for doing such a fine job this past weekend considering all the blowing snow that created almost unridable trails in some places. I gambled that Sunday morning would be perfect as all my friends bailed. The trails where perfect!!! Well done and thanks again.

Simon Sybydlo

What happened to the old OFSC iSnowMobile iPhone app? Is the new internet version the only one available?

Jeremy McArdle

I think the prices are too high for someone like me that just wants to ride around the area. Can't even buy a one day for when you just want to get out. Especially since most of the trails around me are closed for pretty much the season. Last year we bought 3 full season passes and we only used one on one weekend. Never mind the fact that they sent my pass to the wrong address TWICE and me pay to replace it. Aside from that, this should be more affordable to the casual user and I believe they will make more sales.

Travis Parker

Horrible website!

Collin Stratford

Marc Plazek

Very disappointed! Last year (2020) trails opened late, delayed due to club mismanagement and insurance discrepancies, no apology, no refund or credit issued to permit holders. This year (2021) trails closed due to Covid, again no refund or credit issued to permit holders. Hmmmmm.. For a nonprofit organization, it sure sounds like they’re making profit!!! Maybe apply a discount or something instead of “ the take money and run approach”.

On the two occasions I have needed the assistance of the OFSC, both have bee discouraging to say the least. Last season, I erred in purchasing my Trail Pass for our older third sled instead of my wife's current sled. When I received the pass in the mail, i noticed the mistake and contacted the OFSC office. At first I was told, too bad, you''ll have to buy another pass. I explained this was unacceptable to me and was passed along to another person who told me it could be done but would require a lot of paperwork on my behalf, she gave me a list. long story short, I got all the paperwork and submitted it but that was the last I heard from the OFSC and no new pass was ever sent. By now the season was half over so we proceeded to use the wrong pass on the wrong machine. So much for trying to do things the right way. This year the OFSC unilaterally decide to only offer trail passes online and to tough luck to some of the older riders and those who are not computer literate. Add to that the ""online purchase only"" option doesn't even work during its final and busiest days to purchase reduced price passes. When I called the CFSC to inquire what to do, I was told to speak the the MTO, it was their problem! The worst customer service I have ever encountered.,

Depends on where you ride but overall the OFSC has fallen into a state of decline the last 5 years. Too much administration combined with bad winters and no accountability. The money they rake in and groomers only go out once a week. There is no snow in half the areas so where is all the money going? Not buying permits anymore after this year. I've loved sledding since 6 years old but after 20 years of seeing it get worse and worse I've had it. Don't give these people your money.

Jason Thompson

Terrible experience so far. I have been trying for almost a month to get a replacement permit after purchasing a new snowmobile. I bought a new permit early in the season and put it on my sled then purchased a new sled and needed a transfer. I get passed from customer service to customer service rep. and nothing gets done. I am one of the first to purchase my permit for many years now and it seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. You get wrong information from one rep. then contact another and get another answer. How long does a permit replacement drag out? Time for a shake up at the Barrie OFSC. Follow up: I contacted the Barrie Office and requested to speak with a manager regarding my permit. After some confusion I was helped by one of the customer service representatives. She found my application and promised to send my permit out same day. I am happy to announce that I have received my permit. Thanks to the woman that made this possible.

LEIGH BRILL

Great trails! Always groomed perfectly, no where else I would rather ride!

Been a member for 41 years they do a great job maintaining trails and managing working relationships with many property owners while keeping the public well informed get your trail pass before december and save big!

paul duffy

excellent job and mostly volunteer . I wonder out of all the people that are complaining , how many of you have volunteered to help out ? If you have time to complain, you have time to volunteer .

FLETCH KOUROUSIS

Mar 2020, Been riding for 40 yrs. Been buying a trail permit every year I can remember. The last two years, I only bought temporary passes due to how expensive it is to sled these days. Add in the fact the grooming gets worse each year, they cancel the smartphone app and make you buy a new one every year and this year they didn't even provide printed maps of the trails, and it may just be time to sell the sleds. Now this year 2021 they have upped the daily rate from $35 to $45 per day with a 2 day consecutive minimum. That is a 28.5% increase in a time when Covid finds many with less money. (wife bought me a permit for xmas this year .. thankfully) One other very annoying thing .. they give a discount for older "classic sleds" from 1999 and older. Until ~5 years ago, they would increase the cutoff year by an extra year every year , but they stopped and it has been stuck at 1999 sleds only for about 5 years now. Of course my 2002 misses the cutoff even though I was 2 years from getting the discount 5 years ago.

Brock Parker

To much money for permit(s) when trails never open . Last season the trails in my area (barrie) were groomed maybe once. Open for not even a cpl weeks. Rode trails in burks falls once last season thats it! This season its going to be mid jan before we even get 10cms. Not enough to groom. . Where is all the permit money going if trails never open? Shouldnt we get credit if our aea never opens or is ever groomed? Ive heard others say ofsc is just ignorant. I have to agree when i paid $15 extra for permit tracking and you couldnt even track them was 7 weeks before they came. I talked to ofsc and do have to agree , the girl was not to friendly. What do they think? We are just suckers willing to just dish out big money on permits that dont show up and trails that never open? They had a program last year for a discount if covid shut trails? That was bs. And they sure did want to sell permits early ladt season 2021. Sure grab as much as they can incase covid shut trails im sure. Non profit? Ok so everyone in the office isnt getting paid? All these big ofsc confrences are what? Free? Theres our mobey. We dont get invites to these big ofsc partys for the ones that manage ofsc not supporters ! Ill be damm upset if trails never open here again after buyi g 3 permits!

A big thanks to everyone that participates in supporting our trail system. Awesome job! But please don’t scare people into purchasing the Purolator option for permit delivery because of they got lost in the mail you will hold the purchaser responsible for them. I spent the extra like you asked !! Wasn’t at home when the delivery came; got a note on my door that now I have to take time out of my day and drive across the city to pick up at a Purolator processing faculty. What a waste of my time and money!! PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THE SIGNED DELIVERY OPTION!

ray porter

From the landowners, volunteers, organizations, Thank you for making this sport so fun. All the hard work and dedication put in goes a very long way and makes my winters so enjoyable. Thank you again! Without the OFSC putting in the countless hours we wouldn't have this great trail system.
