First time playing the course..... let me tell you. I was shocked. It was absolutely amazing. Everything was well maintained, the greens were perfect condition, the views are beautiful and the staff are really friendly. I was expecting it to be rough, but I was amazed by how well maintained the course was. Would highly suggest it to anyone.

Reserved online. Arrived the next morning only to find out that the online booking system isn't actually used. Didn't matter that we'd driven up from New York, we weren't allowed to play. Completely unacceptable. Went to Upper Canada and played there instead.

A pretty, links style course that is conveniently located close to highway 401. I planned a last minute 9 hole outing to take a stretching break while driving down to Toronto from Montreal. The course was well manicured and very playable. There is a driving range too. Its unfortunate that I broke my favorite driver at the 7th hole and I didn't play very well, but had fun and it wasn't very windy like I expected it to be. Pace of play was reasonable. 2 of my partners were also passing through. Would play again for sure.

Not the most difficult but if you are looking for a great price along with beautiful views of the St Lawrence river, I recommend this course. Unique set up with 5 par 5s and 5 par 3s allows for aggressive scoring. I'll be going back for sure.

By Land, Air or Water The Iroquois Golf Club is conveniently located near an air strip and several local marinas. The Iroquois Air Strip is located right in town and can accomodate most private planes. Galop Marina is also right in town and Iroquois Marine Services is near the edge of town. If you wish to travel to Iroquois by air or water, arrange they will arrange for a pick up and shuttle you to the course. Just provide them with some advance warning of when and where (Iroquois Air Strip, Galop Marina, Iroquois Marine Services) you are arriving.

Nice local course just of the 401 in Iroquois Ont. Not the longest course from the back tees but at just over 6100 yds it is a friendly place to get in some good golf. Nothing overly complicated as most holes are straight ahead and the fairways have ample landing areas. The greens are very receptive and you can attack the pins if you like that kind of golf. The greens are average speed and in good condition; not what I would call fast but can be tricky going downhill. Hard place to lose a ball but there is some high fescue in places and a few holes along the St-Lawrence seaway; 10 is my favourite hole in the region for the gradual dogleg left around the seaway (pictures below). Playing conditions can vary at different times of the year; in the Spring some holes have very poor drainage and can be a hassle to get around in and/or lose a ball in the fairway as the ground swallows up your drive. In the end of July early Aug if it happens to be a dry summer the fairways can be very brown and dry so difficult to hit from but you do gain some yardage on the roll. All-in-all I recommend a stop to play here and just enjoy a friendly round of golf (very affordable) at a leisurely pace. The restaurant also has a great reputation for awesome food. You won't regret playing here but don't expect a high-end golf course with extreme difficulties or elevation changes. You can however expect to play in some wind on most days.

Pros: - course is in good shape - green fees are extremely reasonable - soft landing, fast rolling greens - usually not very busy - fun holes - picturesque right on the water. - new/casual golfer friendly - easy to walk as it’s very flat Cons: - no beer cart - the drainage is dismal, wear your waterproof shoes if it’s rained within a week of your tee time. Plenty of standing water/muddy places. Be prepared for a lift, clean and club length relief kind of day. - no beer cart - poor signage for some of the holes/directions - no beer cart All in all, if you manage your expectations it’s a great value. It’s not a championship course in layout or condition... but the price is reflective of that.

It is open and got to play in under 4 hours. A negative though, no refreshments at all. No water, pop or beer and no snacks. I recommend you bring your own if you are playing here during the next four weeks.

The course is in pretty good shape along the river (nice river views). The customer service, on the other hand is lacking. We had a morning tee time where the tee time slots turned out to be more like five minutes instead of fifteen. Very busy. We were never notified that there was a club tournament happening. When we asked at the clubhouse after one very long hole, the woman said she told us that it would be busy, even though she never said such a thing. They wouldn't give us a rain check. Sad.

The weather hasn’t made things easy lately, the grass was understandably burnt. Credit to the staff for keeping it playable, the greens were perfect. The surroundings are the huge sell, especially considering how links courses aren’t really known for scenery. The wind is a factor which means some extra thought on some shots with wide enough fairways that the occasional errant shot is salvageable. Great track, had a lot of fun.
