Threw a party here and gotta say it's a nice little spot. It was dark so everyone felt like they could dance and not be judged like at some other places and there are a few lounge areas set up nicely. The bar staff was friendly and the service was good. They have a coat check so that's quite nice as it was winter. They had a DJ in from Toronto spinning a mix of top hits. I would return here for a night of dancing.

By far the best club I've been to in the GTA. Definitely brings that Montreal Speak Easy vibe. The ambiance and decor sets the tone. Dark yet vibrant from the coloured lights. The service is always friendly. Drinks are reasonable. The music they play here is amazing. Everything from techno to hip hop to classic house to 90s they have a little bit for everyone. The best part is that people go there to actually dance! None of that douchey crowds you get a popular Toronto bars with a bunch of people standing around. I've always had a good time and always bring out friends!

Went out on a Saturday night to support my friend DJ Gadjet. They were spinning house while live band were improvising jazz over the beats. It was a crazy cool nostalgic experience. I was completely blown away by the trumpet player and congo drummers. The atmosphere was out of movie and I love the aesthetic. Felt like I was in a different city!

If you're looking for an unpretentious place, with no judgement, great music, and a mixed crowd - everyone's place to be, then this chic basement lounge is your best bet. One of the best places to dance in the city.

Clean, minimalist bar with a curated drink menu that will keep all your friends happy. The restrained retro-new wave-tiki decor, a variety of 'living rooms' to get comfortable in and friendly staff made us feel right at home. Crowd was a bit laid back on a Thursday night but if you build it on the dance floor, they will come. Looking forward to next time!

This spot is such a little gem in the downtown Hamilton area. A basement setting with the best vibes, music and fairly mature crowds. The bartenders are all lovely people, and you can tell the culture in there is one of utmost inclusivity where you can dance uninhibited by anyone else. I would come here every weekend if I could.

This place has changed the way we think about art in a dance space. An amazing interpretation of 70s non-conformist, underground chic in the 21st century. Joined with great people, great vibes and a club culture which ceases to exist in any other bar Sous Bas is a true "diamond amongst the rough".

A little cramped but they had the Girl Talk board game and i won so im giving this place extra points. They also had a great September 1970 edition of Playboy magazine that had a fantastic article about abortion at that time that was still extremely relevant it was crazy. 5 out of 5 for sure

A fun experience at a jam-packed late-night spot with a relaxed & welcoming, yet stylish vibe. A modern yet inviting space with comfortable couches along one wall, a long bar opposite & in between, lots of space to dance, mill around or simply watch. A predominantly young crowd, yet more mature night owls don't feel out of place &/or unwelcome. The music on our last visit was a DJ spinning soca beats sprinkled with hip-hop but with a predominantly electronic/techno edge. Just too bad no little snacks (not even just nuts/chips...) seem to be available.

Hands down my new favorite club in Hamilton. Fair drinks, 5$ cover, great acts and a variety of genres throughout each month from hip hop to reggae to techno and house and trap and disco. Only good looking people go here!

Come here and dance away your worries. A sweaty but spacious dance floor with delicious music, a seated lounge area, and dark, neon vibes makes you feel like you're in Montreal or Europe rather than underground in Hamilton. Owner is AMAZING and accommodating, some of the friendliest door folks around, and it's always a good time. Open to all shapes and colours, the washrooms are single stall and gender neutral, and they really work to make it a safer space for every kind of patron. When it's busy (which is impressively often), getting drinks is a bit tough, so I recommend making every trip to the bar count!

I heard about this place from a coworker that wouldn't stop talking about it. I went there on Friday night and could not have been more impressed. The place was SPOTLESS, the prices were reasonable, the staff was incredible and the music was AMAZING. I loved the fact that the crowd was super diverse - it really felt like everyone felt right at home. I wish I could give you more stars.. I'll just have to keep coming back so I can keep leaving reviews. Hamilton's finest in my opinion!

Wasn't a fan of the music set that the DJ was playing. The bar tenderer unlocked the bathroom while I was in it to go use the washroom.. Weird. It's LGBTQ+ friendly (not a bad thing to me)

Cool relaxed vibe. Great house music on the Saturday we went with Ray Prasad, Collab and Frank Williams. Live trumpet and drums. It's a small venue, kind of like a house party with a bar and live music (which is what I love).

Such a fun enviroment! I went for the funk and boogey night and the music was fantastic, the drinks were wonderful and the staff were quite friendly and fun! I definitely recommend this place if you're looking somewhere to go late at night for dancing and a few drinks.

Finally there's a club where my friends and I can go dancing that isn't gross and everyone is very respectful of you personal space! DJs can be hit or miss but you'll still have a good time even if the sound isn't what you're into.

This is the place to go dancing in Hamilton. The focus here is my the dancing. The owners have one intention get the best DJs and set them free to do what they do best. Just shut up go and shake your ass.

I was kinda surprised by the club..very hipster cool..not a typical Hamilton club..more like Toronto..chill clients and modern dance music..mainly techno chill style..plesently surprised...little to dark..but that's just me..

I moved to Hamilton October last year. Haven't seen experienced any place like this before. The drinks are very reasonably priced, the staff is efficient and friendly. The line ups are amazing. I've always enjoyed dancing at this place. Please check it out if you haven't!

Cool enough venue no doubt (basements are fine with me), and nothing was particularly bad, nor particularly good. Standard drinks. Deep house night was pretty disappointing. Me and my crowd were waiting for the tunes to really get good, and it pretty much felt like the same song all the way through. Yes edm is repetitive in general, but this was a bit much. The main issue for me was that the crowd felt somewhat hostile -- not violent, just unfriendly. Nobody said anything of course, but its all in the vibes, and the vibes are real. The bridesmaids camping out the front did not help ;p. Maybe it was an off night because all the reviews are so positive. May consider going back still.

The best non clubby club ive ever been to! I have been on the lookout for a place where i can go dancing thats not full of creeps and this is it! Excellent music, everyone is respectful of personal space, the asthetic, the drinks, the whole vibe here is amazing. Great mixed crowd of people, not over pretentious, just genuine casual fun. My favourite spot to dance in Hamilton by a long shot. The staff are all awesome - from the friendly doorman and girls at the front to the attentive bartenders. The place is also *really* clean and the interior is comfy and ambient with a cohesive theme. Sous bas is classy and attracts a great crowd. I’ll be back here soon!

Great place to chill. Make sure you check online to see what is gonna be the theme or else you will be shocked. I've been on a Thursday.. the Afrobeat night which was lit. I hear the Caribbean night is good as well... Not sure if that is on Saturdays or Fridays..
