Amazing experience. We tried this out for the first time last weekend, and I can say that we are definitely going to return. The portion size was huge, and the food quality was incredible. By far the best Indian Cuisine in Guelph. That paired with amazing customer service, made for a 5 star experience.

Ordered Balti chicken and Saag with goat, along with side of rice and chili garlic naan. It was nice portion and even had to pack some of it. Great quality and the restaurant is modern and clean.

Thought of dining in with a friend. Checked online for timings and updates before going and everything seemed okay. When we reached, they requested proof of vaccination (which is understandable and I believe soft copy was okay and I had that with me so no worries) and a government ID (which we were not expecting at all since that's never been requested from other places before nor was such an important detail mentioned in their updates or website). We wasted our time going all the way there for nothing. I have ordered their food using ubereats once before this and the food was not bad (but nothing special. There are better options). I thought of dining here just because of the location. To the restaurant: I like supporting local businesses at this time but such important notices should probably be announced online or at least on your website so that potential customers don't end up with a terrible impression and experience. I hope it gets updated at least now. To customers: if you want to check out this place, have a good back up plan just in case.

Me and my friend went to the restaurant to know about the menus since we 8 persons wanted to dine in. At that time, there were many customers so we couldn't sit. That is why we thought instead of sitting we can ask in the front desk what are the options available and then we can decide. We were waiting to talk in the front desk and then manager/owner came from inside and asked us whether we want to dine in or takeout. Afterwards, I said we want to dine in but discuss first. The person replied to me " I have no time to talk now". That was very rude and didn't expect as a customer at all. I was really unprepared and couldn't realize what to say at that time.

Very delicious food so ever in guelph, I have tried this restaurant for the first time. I tried so many restaurants in brampton & Mississauga but this restaurant failed them. I ordered paneer makhmali and just garlic naan., coz I was not sure how it will gonna be? The softness of naan and curry made me fan of this restaurant. On top of it, customer service is really good. If someone is looking for tempting food, please go and try this.

Update: They have made corrections. The biryani I ordered last week was tasty and the chicken tasted fresh. Thank you guys. Uber Eats: I choose this restaurant only if I have no option. The chicken in their Chicken Briyani always tastes weird, like it's two days old boiled chicken. This is not a one time scenario. It is the same every single time. Uber Eats: These people take feedback very seriously. I ordered a lamb coconut briyani a couple of days before and every single ingredient was fresh and looks like they changed the recipe too.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Guelph! Due to covid we have only gotten takeout but the service is always fast, pleasant and food is just exceptional. The starters, the kebabs, the vegetable and paneer dishes, everything that we have tried really is just amazing. Special mention to the kheema egg roll, which transports me back home and to my childhood every time! I hope they flourish and have a very successful tenure here in Guelph!

I usually don't write bad reviews but this restaurant begs it. Its the most horrible food i have ever had. I ordered "Balti Chicken" and when i reached home after picking up i see they gave butter chicken (photo attached) and it was horrendous. The mutton biriyani i ordered was soooo bad that even i could have cooked better blindfolded. They claim to be creating this restaurant in nostalgia of the original Calcutta club. Either their story is a complete fake and they have never had that food or just want to use the name to make some money in canada. Because i have been to Calcutta club and food is million times better than what these guys are selling. This restaurant is absolutely fake and the food is beyond horrible. My owner or Chef whoever is reading this review note that boiling few pieces of goat meat into a soggy mixture of rice and masala does not make it biriyani. At minimum have some honor in your life and maintain atleast a decent quality. If you can't even do that then atleast give the order asked for and not something else, dont swap dishes thinking customer cannot tell the difference between balti chicken and butter chicken

I have order food many times here and there taste and portions are really good but the only problem i found that floated across all there dishes is that the tangy taste and not actually indian spicy and mostly the dishes are topped with chilli flakes and yeah tangy taste for sure! I had a delicious lunch at The Kolkata Club and was happy with every aspect of the experience. The food was delicious and plentiful, the staff were charming and kind and the atmosphere was lovely. We ordered two curries, a butter chicken and lamb vindaloo with a coconut lamb byrani rice. It was all delicious. The butter chicken didn’t have enough meet but the Vindaloo lamb had tons. We didn’t mention it until the end and they offered to bring more chicken, but we were so stuffed we said no. The staff were very gracious. I highly recommend stopping for a delicious meal!

Nice food, environment and service. Would come again to try other stuff. We came as a group of 3 and got seated at the bench / booth area. I knew of the place before as a Zoup and the environment and decor of the entire place is completely different. Very elegant space. Service was great! The server immediately greeted and seated us. Offered great recommendations and was quick to help when we needed anything. Food was great, we ordered a bit too much. Everythingw as served at the same time and hot. Plating was beautiful. My friend ordered a chai drink and said it was good. I've only been once but my experience at the restaurant was great. I will def. try ordering take out one day.

I am so glad the Kolkata Club is getting great reviews. We'd been eating at other Indian establishments for years, but since Kolkata opened, it is now our go-to restaurant. Besides the excellent food (their amazing Samosa Chaat Bhujia and Club ki Daal are not to be matched), the wait staff are "old school" attentive - they will never interrupt your meal, but are always there at your table the moment you catch their eye. Perfect place for a wonderful meal AND good conversation! My partner tells me the selection of beers is a perfect pair with his meals, and I am a big fan of the "My Way Gin and Tonic" - a really fine cocktail to start a wonderful evening out. Can't go out? Order in! There are so many good dishes to explore.

First time to the Kolkata Club and would highly recommend it! Had the Padom Box, Goat Curry and Balti Chicken. Tons of food and VERY tasty. I used to live in England and we would travel up to Spark Hill in Birmingham to have a Balti (home of the Balti), but no comparison. This was much better. And the goat Curry was as good as any I have had, probably better! Highly recommend it. Best in Guelph in my view.

It's a home away from home feels... As you go inside the aura of the restaurant takes you back to your natives as its a magic door. The food is cherry on cake it has all the spices and warmth of love which was served so fresh right from the counter. Chef Tejinder Singh should be a part of MasterChef for his cuisines have a ethical and modern touch in all dishes we were served the content and quality for so amazing that if it was possible I would eat it everyday. Even the owners were so curtious that we were escorted to seat and were served food with care and precision.. if you are reading this to have a second thought that should we try this restaurant I would say their shouldnt be any second thoughts..One of the best thing that happened to me was to try food at Kolkata club which is scrumptious ❤️

This place is very good but the reason why I am giving three stars is because the service is EXTREMELY slow, friendly, but slow. There were only two other family’s along with us but they took forever even for the billing. Also, they charge a lot for the food and the one thing my family really loved was the manchurian. I don’t really recommend this place because of how slow and expensive they are... other than that, the decor is beautiful and food is good and service is friendly. ????

Ok got a special Thali Deal from Kolkatta Club. On their Instagram page they clearly show a drink in that deal and in reality they say that they dont promise a drink. I mean yes food was good and service was good but how can you mislead your customers ? Either give a drink or dont show it. Have some business ethics

Ordered lamb Korma meal for pick up. Requested mild. Added Naan. Cost was $28.70 which seemed very high. Returned home - 15 minute drive - to enjoy. No Naan. Called restaurant- I can come back to pick up or they will give me credit on my next meal. No delivery, though. Meal was very spicy and not a lot of flavor. Very disappointed and won't return.

I’ve ordered/dined in at this restaurant around 15 times and to my surprise, they’re unimaginably consistent with their excellent service, scrumptious taste and supreme quality. It’s been 3 years since I moved to this country and tried so many different Indian restaurants in and around GTA, but nothing to beat this gem. Ever since I tried their food, I haven’t really even thought about eating elsewhere. They have a super courteous staff and extremely comforting ambience. Being a vegetarian, it’s always been difficult to find a lot of food options at restraunts in Canada, but this place offers you a plethora of finger-licking good vegetarian dishes. Must try: Paneer Makhmali, Noodles, Dal Makhni, Soya Chaap, Lehsuni Cauliflower, Fried Rice, Paneer Tikka and Mock Butter Chicken Way to go, The Kolkata Club ❤️

I live in waterloo and I ordered $40 dollar of food through Uber eats from this place just looking at the menu and pictures thinking it would have the explicit taste, the chicken was bad not cooked properly it was hard and even had an odd smell. It ruined my entire appetite, I was fasting all day and this is what I end up expecting something different. Would never order from here again.

Summary: Nice sauces, but chicken fatty. I'm a curry fanatic (originally from England, where curry is the national dish nowadays). This new indian restaurant in Guelph has a lot going for it..nice ambiance, polite staff, and the sauces were very authentic. Wine was excellent, and portions large. HOWEVER...the chicken meat was VERY fatty and not of the high quality I was expecting for the price. If they changed the chicken supply (more non fatty breast meat please!), then this place COULD be vying for 1st place in Guelph. But as it stands, the fatty chicken prevents that for now. Perhaps it was a one-off? We will go back to see.

We went here for early dinner and went away with enough for lunch the next day. The samosa appetizer had an array of interesting chickpea and sauces around it. I had a new-to-me-chicken dish that was delicious, we also ordered the butter chicken-- also delicious. The tikka chicken was really good, butter naan was nice and fluffy. Nice selection of beer on tap, welcoming hosts, overall a great experience.

Nice place n very good service. Food is good but a little expensive. Quantity of food is ok as there was more gravy vs the chicken or goat in it. Even when v ordered paneer there was lots of gravey but very little paneer or vegetables inside.

Hello indian food lovers, I would love to share my food experience at this restaurant. I ordered naan along with curry most fantastic naan and curry in guelph i had till now. The dessert was rabri faluda: best rabri i had in the area in last 1 year. So i would rate: 10/10 for service 9/10 for food 9/10 for ambience Total of 28/30 for the major things we look for... In short best place to hangout with friends

The Chicken Biryani was excellent though just a tad warm. The fried rice was good and the manchurian chicken was excellent. The Mango lassi was above par. Just surprised that pappad is not complimentary. Nice atmosphere and good servers.

Three of us tried take out one evening when this restaurant first opened. What a very pleasant surprise. Food was amazingly fresh and delicious. Some traditional Indian favorites along with some new dishes I had not had before. Highly recommended although have not had a chance to go back. Would love to have dinner in the restaurant next time as the cocktails look amazing! Hope they have a long and prosperous future in Guelph.

The evening started a bit slow as we waited quite a while to place our order. We put it down to the fact that it is a newly opened place and they were not expecting the rush resulting from a very positive review in the local paper. Once we ordered we were very impressed. Excellent food, quite different from the usual Indian restaurant, and a top notch house G&T (with Fever Tree tonic water). The samosas were quite different, being served in a lovely sauce. A nice change from the usual dry triangles of pastry and potatoes. Highly recommended, we will certainly return.

Its not been open long but I've been half a dozen times. The pricing is good, the portions generous, the service has always been brilliant and, of course, the food delicious!

Delicious Indian cuisine! I loved the taste of everything I tried here and will definitely be back again. I can’t remember the name of my main dish, but I can say that the flavour and sauce was absolutely delicious and I ordered it twice already. It was a curry chicken of some sort with coconut milk, cashews and spices. I also loved the cauliflower appetizer in spicy sauce, although I will be asking for less heat next time! I look forward to coming back and trying different things in the future. Very nice interior of the restaurant and friendly, accommodating staff. Keep it up!

This is the best indian/bengali restaurant in Guelph.I've tasted food from all the other Indian restaurants in Guelph but nothing compares to Kolkata club. The butter chicken is heavenly. The biriyani is also amazing and they add a lot of chicken pieces which is great because all the other restaurants barely put any meat in the biriyani.

I've been away from home(Kolkata) for over 5 months and the food at The Kolkata Club reminded me of home. The service was great and the food was delicious. The ambience is lively and I'd definitely recommend it to everyone! One of the best Indian restaurants in Guelph!

DELICIOUS!! I *highly recommend a visit. This isn't your standard Canadian Indian restaurant, there are lots of interesting items offered on the menu. Portions are very generous and the service was friendly and professional. The mango lassi (a drink like a yogurt mango smoothie) was the best mango lassi I have ever had!! We tried the lotus root and peanuts and it is very tasty, it would be the perfect snack with a cold beer. We also got the murgh methi dhabewala and vindaloo lamb/goat, both were amazingly flavourful. I didn't grow up eating Indian food but found the flavours here very approachable. We look forward to trying more menu items!!

What an amazing experience with The Kolkata Club! I called before ordering to ask about wheat free options as I have an allergy. They were so accommodating and friendly. I felt like they were happy to assist me. We ordered smoky butter chicken, murgh biryani, the club meat and pickles. Everything had so much flavor. The club meat was spicy, heat, with great flavor. You don't want to stop eating once you start. We look forward to eating in the restaurant and being given guidance as to what to enjoy next
