The food was as to be expected, fairly good, the boss seemed to be constantly yelling at employees and apparently steals large portion of their tips. Because as I overheard him say "what is illegal to you is not illegal to me." Based on the ethics of it is why I don't recommend this restaurant. To much of this happening in the restaurant workplace!

For a chain restaurant I was quite impressed. Staff were great. Large selection of choices even for vegetarians in our group. Meals were served quickly. Early bird specials from 4-5:30. Improvements better dipping sauce for calimari, brown rice option better coffee.

My husband and I went here for breakfast the day after our wedding. They have great mimosas and a nice breakfast. It is not the cheapest breakfast option but we enjoyed our visit.

Toast came cold with no butter..asked for new hot buttered toast. Got just butter with a pile of crumbs in it for buttering cold toast. Re asked for hot toast. Finally got it. Asked about crumbs in butter... they use the same knife to scoop butter out as they use to spread the butter on toast. Cross contaminating with other breads including gluten free bread is not acceptable. Server seemed to think it was OK.

Went here twice recently for breakfast, and each time was a great experience. Roxanne and Michelle served my mom and I on each occasion and they were so friendly and welcoming! The food was delicious and the cafe had such a beautiful atmosphere. It was very clean inside and out! Next time we are in the area, we’ll definitely be back!

The food was mediocre, the service was slow. I ordered a glass of wine and it cost me $22 cost more than lunch. They should be ashamed to charge that, I thought I was at the airport. You are a pub not the ritz.

Had a wonderful evening at Symposium tonight. The service was wonderfully exhuberant and personal from the server Roxanne and the bartender. My daughter loves their strawberry milkshakes! New menu and we loved the cajun shrimp appetizer. Next time I'll be trying the Asian root vegetable trio which looks like an incredible addition to the menu. No room for dessert tonight but dessert selection and quality can't be beat. They do great breakfasts as well. Overall a great atmosphere, always friendly service, and great food and drinks.

Nice wait staff but underwhelming food. We ordered a dinner special and I picked a seemingly safe choice, pork tenderloin with orange sauce. They didn't indicate that it was crazy spicy and the presentation was a mess. They replaced the meal with pork without sauce but it was dry and bland. Disappointing to be sure. Maybe they had an off night...

Our first and last visit. The wings and flatbread good but over priced.. My husbands child size portion hamburg and fries were double the price of anywhere else. $20 for a ????. Way to much $. Our waitress was good but she didn't need to be embarrassed by a male waiter who announced she was new that day. The decor was very nice.

They have a great selection of food to choose from. This place is famous for breakfast, we went there for dinner on Wednesday. They had good options for martinis. The server was also very nice and obliged to our special needs. Must visit second time, more for ambience than food!

Symposium is one of our favorite early bird dinner places to go. Nice cozy cafe and reasonable food choices. However, I tried this new dish "Portobello mushrooms with spiralled zucchini" tonight, there were just too much portobello mushrooms and zucchini was kind of too plain. I would not recommend this dish to anyone, even vegetarians. ~~~~~~ This is my review for another visit. I tried this new Korean marinated salmon with Thai coleslaw. The plating is terrible! Made you feel like you get half of the meal. A little rice, a small salmon filet, a bit coleslaw. Very disappointed and sad to see this place is getting worse in the last couple of years.

I've been coming here almost weekly for well over 12 years. The menu just updated. Its the core staff that keeps us coming back. Management comes out regularly to check on guests. Very pleasant.

Nice lunch.. had the California chicken sandwich and was good. Hubby liked his French toast. Others in our party - unhappy about lack of vegan options (was even told the beyond meat burger "wasn't vegan"); did not like their chicken blt sandwiches - said were dry, chicken dry. BUT our server was very nice and patient with a large family group. Sat us in a private room which was very nice and helpful for our dementia-suffering mother. The cakes were, of course, DELICIOUS. Overall, would recommend. They were good to our challenging group and hubby and I enjoyed it.

Food was ok. I was expecting more from their burger based on the ads in their window. However, it seemed to be from a frozen patty and not a lot of seasoning on it. They do have a lot of option to build your own burger so you can truly have exactly what you want, though the did forget my bacon. However, my wife had the broccoli and cheddar soup and said it was amazing. Facility itself is very nice with a cozy feel and service was good.

I took my daughter to this restaurant today. We were unsure of the protocol so asked the server what we should do. She passively said go into the restaurant and the manager will seat you. He came over to us after 5 minutes and pointed to a patio table where we should sit. I overheard a server saying she couldn't take any more tables. I asked which way we should go & he said whichever. We arrived approximately 1:20. After 25 minutes a gentleman came by and asked if we had been looked after. We had been seated for approximately 20-30 minutes and no one had come to our table to even ask us if we wanted beverages. We left as we were completely unimpressed with the service and noted that many of the people that were served clearly were there before us and we recognized that service was at least 30 minutes. I realize that the re-opening of restaurants has been an issue with Covid; however, to not even acknowledge patrons shortly after seating is not restaurant service friendly. I have never walked away from a restaurant as I am open minded to various situations; however, this situation was extremely disappointing. I hope it was one-off.

Waited an hour and twenty minutes for the meal. Manager wasn't overly hospitable about it. No matter. Tried to make the best of my sister's birthday with the family. The kick in the pants was the subpar food. Other friends have said this place to be good. It probably is. Just our experience that evening wasn't commendable.

Friendly service but the meal was brutal. Ordered the chicken and bacon club. It came with a sliver of chicken. Could barely even see it in the sandwich. Showed the server and the manager and they both agreed it was an unacceptable portion but the only option given was to wait 15 mins for them to add another little piece of chicken. lol Didn't even offer a discount. This Symposium can't even hold a candle to the one in Milton.

I visit Symposium weekly for breakfast. The omelettes and French toast are delicious. Our waitress is always courteous and prompt with my meals. I find the price very competitive to other restaurants and the food is great.

Good food, meh service, misleading drink menu. Ordered a pitcher of sangria for $25 but it was only a litre - a pitcher is 60 oz! Server rushed us out when we had a $100 bill and were there less than an hour. Won’t be back.

Do NOT trust any negative reviews about this place! Staff does care - we got asked if everything was ok 6 times. (We think the secret to that success was sitting next to the patio's exit, but I can't guarantee that this positioning will help you recreate this amazing experience for your visit). Since the Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge has decided to block handi capped parking spaces with their outdoor patio.... I will be there every day with no mask a(because I'm outdoors) and lean against their fence and chain smoke cigarettes and cigars..... They obviously have no respect for the handi capped.... so Symposium Cafe Restaurant & Lounge should expect no respect....

Recently visited my family in Guelph and had a breakfast and lunch at the Symposium Restaurant. we found their breakfast and lunch to be excellent in term of food quality and price. it is also a great place to meet your friends and family for a breakfast and lunch. great place, definitely I will revisit next time I will be in Guelph. This ended up being my favourite restaurant in Guelph during my visit! The food was so delicious, especially the fish tacos and the steak sandwich. I also loved their caesar salad! The service was above and beyond- all staff was very friendly and engaging.

Great service, amazing dinner and even better dessert! Our waitress, Roxanne, was absolutely incredible and made our whole experience so much better! The chicken wings were my personal favourite and a great sharing dish. The double fudge cheesecake was delicious as well! If you can, request Roxanne when you visit this restaurant, she is one of the kindest waitresses I have ever had and made us laugh so much.

Went for breakfast. Got a chipped coffee cup with a sharp edge. Food didn't show up. Other tables were served. Wait staff blamed the kitchen with lots of eye rolling. More tables served , but not ours. The manager came over with his mask not covering his nose. Said he would look into it. Came back carrying our food right under his exposed nose. Gross. We paid for our drinks and left.

I know that this place appears???? to be a nice place. To me, it was a little bit more of a 'cafeteria-style': look in the decor. I guess, that must be the "award-winning 'style' of restaurant" that is mentioned in their own description. The food was so-so because it was- ... actually tasty [as it should be] .. but my portions were a little small and pricey for what I got. I can't say the place is terrible... it is NOT! They tried to present the food ... to look like a fancy, up-scale high-end 'cusine'. Yet, I got such "mixed signals" from: a. fancy presentation of food b. 'cafeteria' atmosphere c. expectations d. decor The worst though and to top it all off; there was a clearly audible business presentation nearby!! - what was up with that? I guess, it isn't my idea of a nice night out. - I truly am sorry to say negative things like that. TRUTH!!

I popped into Symposium Café last week on my own. It was around lunch time and they were busy. Despite being busy my service was quick, polite and did not feel rushed AT ALL! The food was quick, fresh, and delicious. I always get concerned going into restaurants during peak hours, but they did not disappoint! Can't wait to go back!

Pretty good prices on the 33% off appetizers after 9pm. 4 dollars for a PBR draught which was good too. Little bit of a dead atmosphere when we went. Wouldn't mind if there was a little more background noise on nights it is not busy, but I understand it's not a Boston Pizza and has to diversify from the average sports bar vibe. Wouldn't say I was crazy about the food but good price none the less.

This was by far my worst experience at a restaurant in Guelph. We spent 30 minutes on the phone ordering, because the server did not know what was on the menu and kept running from the kitchen to speak to us and did not understand anything we were saying. After ordering, he did not ask for a name, a phone number or provide any details and hung up. We had to call back and ask for the cost and ETA. He said 30 minutes.. and when we arrived we waited an additional 15 minutes for him to bring out the wrong order.. blaming us and saying he asked the kitchen and that’s what they made. We asked for the vegetarian bowl and he came out with a burger. Then, he had to make the order right after fighting us on it. The manager came out and touched the food with his bare hands and told us to take it. There were also things missing from the order so good thing we checked. They were unapologetic and extremely rude. Upon getting home, I opened my soup and it’s smelled rancid and had a tangy flavour, they definitely had it sitting out and it was spoiled. Save your money and your time and buy from another restaurant that is actually good quality food and good customer service.

It was hard to choose between 3 and 4 stars, but the reason for the lower rating is due to the tiny portion of chicken tenders, that were also not very tender. I had the chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo, which was really tasty! Enjoyed carrot cake for dessert. High prices, and smaller portions hurts the rating. However, the service was prompt and friendly and the food quality was good overall.

My husband and I usually went every Sunday for breakfast before the whole lockdown thing . We love Paul, and would always sit in his section! He is wonderful. We hadn't been since the right before the second lockdown, however managed to squeeze one visit in before this third one started ! Of course we asked to sit in Pauls section and he was great as always! We always enjoy our food there as well ! Can't wait until the re open so we can head over again!!

Wonderful experience! We had two servers. Paul and Noah. Both were very welcoming and provided excellent customer service. Our breakfast arrived quickly and the food was hot and delicious. Covid protocols were followed to the letter which we really appreciated. We will be back again soon! ????

Upon a recent visit, we ordered two aperol spritzes. The drinks arrived tasting really stale - it seemed that the prosecco might have been stale. We told our server and she said it we were tasting the aperol, as if we hadn't had the drink before. It was even one of their advertised drinks, so one would think they'd have the necessary ingredients prepared to go, but that wasn't the case. Freshness seems to b a recurring issue with this location, as we'd also had an issue with the salmon during a previous visit. I usually like Symposium restaurants but this is a really poorly run location.

Bring your patience - a long wait to be seated, have your order taken, and have drinks or food. The food was okay. I enjoyed the chicken Caesar wrap and fries but the fish tacos were not my thing. They were very saucy and too full to pick up. I would go back but it wouldn't be a top pick for me.

We went for dessert and the waffle was fresh, but I found the ice cream and brownies sub par. The portion was huge, though. We went for Lunch on the 22 June 2021 even with the cool weather on the patio it was a chance to eat at restaurant during Covid. The first think I notice is how all the prices were up considerably since before covid. I ordered their Symposium burger which is suppose to be two 4 once patties and came with salad . When the food arrived I noticed it was only a single patty after taking a bite i asked the waitress why it only had a single patty she said no I put the order in as a double would I like the the double and I said yes. While waiting for what I assumed was a new burger that I ordered I ate the salad and left the burger. After about 10 minutes the waitress returned with a cooked hamburger patty not the whole burger when questioned she thought everything was ok even with the other burger now cold. I spoke to the manager who didn’t think there was a problem and when I advised I wasn’t paying she advised she was only charging me for single burger. To make matters worse the burger was terrible it certainly was not all beef not sure what kind of meat was in it. I will not be returning to this restaurant and I suggest you find another one as well.

Arrived in town to celebrate our anniversary. Did a Google search and discovered Symposium Cafe. Left the hotel and arrived a few minutes later. What a special evening in an intriguing setting. We chose the Dinner for Two where each could make their own menus selection. Nice presentation and great flavour. Shared a wonderful carrot cake dessert. All included - salad, beverage, mains and dessert. The value was terrific. And very attentive servers. We will be back.

Ordered through Uber Eats due to the coronavirus. Paid $9.45 for a chocolate milkshake which was delivered in a coffee cup. Called to discuss the outrageous price for the shake; was told it was Uber’s fault as they set the prices and then asked to send a photo of the cup via email. Have heard from nothing anyone associated with the restaurant for several days. Very poor response to customer.

Have only been to this location once and was quite disappointed with the quality of food. I ordered their classic 8oz burger with French Onion soup and both these dishes had this weird stale taste telling me that the ingredients were not fresh. I have been to other Symposium locations and have never experienced this before. Will not recommend this specific Symposium location in Guelph, ON

Brocolli broth soup had a large piece of plastic in it. Handed over the same to the server who went and checked with the cooks. They told her it probably was a large piece of onion peel and that they were sorry for the same. Gave us a complementary ice cream on chocolate fudge. The vegetables soup was terrible and returned it after the first scoop. Server Breeze who came to help out server Katrina was great. Poutine was a small portion with just fries, cheese curds and brown gravy. Rather pricey for 10.95. Enjoyed the calamari though. Other dishes were good, with the carrot cake being the best. No ice cream on the carrot cake this time. Had to order ice cream as extra this time.

Calamari was tasteless, tilapia was tasteless, on a bed of rice and was suppose to be blackened it wasn't ... no flavour. Virgin cesear was extremely salty, without the rim. Told server fish and calamari was tasteless and both were only touched. She offered no solution. We got the bill and paid the bill. A GOOD restaurant would have called the chef or owner over to discuss but nope, that didn't happen. Won't be back !!! Yah gotta know that hearing the customer, is the solution to success and longevity of an establishment. Oh I figure your calamari and tilapia were frozen.

My daughter and I went for brunch. The food was great, however the kids portions are very small. She is 7 and ate every last portion of a kids meal and asked to get another helping. She is an average size 7yo that doesn't over eat. Other than that the place was great, nice service and atmosphere and the prices are fair. Ill be back.

RATS COMING FROM THE KITCHEN. As we finished breakfast with family on March 18 2018 we witnessed a large RAT running out of the kitchen into the dining area. The manager was extremely rude and couldn’t care less. Not even an apology. Simply said “we killed it, what else do you want”. Disgusting. I recommend you never visit this location.

If you find it is not so maybe you should look els wear for the problem. I have taken family and friends. If the service seems slow it is because it is not McDonald's. The food has to be prepared.

My wife and I have visited this restaurant many times since opening day. We have tried breakfast, lunch and dinner and have always been satisfied with the quality of the food and the friendly staff that serves it. I can recommend this place to anyone who is interested in enjoying a good meal at a reasonable price in a good atmosphere. When the weather will finally improve the outside patio is also a comfortable place to be. I can hardly wait for it.

From dessert to dinner, fantastic. Symposium is probably my favourite place to eat in Guelph. Though known for their dessert cakes in particular (and with good reason), I've had a variety of dishes there and been blown away every time. From steak to pasta and whatever else in between, Symposium can't seem to do wrong for me. It's a slightly fancier place, but not so fancy that you're expected to be dressy. The atmosphere is nice and yet relaxed, with a slightly more "bar" atmosphere on one side (where they have some TV's and are playing major sports games) and more of a nice restaurant feel on the other. The two feel quite separate and yet it works very. Kudos to them for pulling this off. With this slightly higher standard, the prices are a bit higher than what you might pay at a Kelsey's or a Montana's, but I wouldn't say it's overpriced, and I'm always happy to pay for what I get there. There are daily deals that seem fairly consistent and worthwhile. Selection is full without being overwhelming, and they have a variety of wines that they recommend with different dishes. I can't comment on their beer selection. Service has always been fantastic and kind, although a few meals of mine have taken a bit longer to receive on busier nights. Aside from this, however, I have nothing negative to say about Symposium. I highly recommend it!

My wife and I really enjoyed breakfast on the weekend. It is amazing that this particular location (Lindsay, Ontario) has the early bird specials Monday to Sunday. Pricing is beyond fair, the quality of the food was top notch. The owner and employees are great, they are happy to accommodate you with any special meal requests. Service was perfect, the server visited us in comfortable time intervals. The atmosphere is nice, open concept and well thought out. We can’t wait for summer, the patio looks like it would be a great spot for a quick lunch or evening dinner. Definitely 5 stars.

Went with the family to have a great time out... Was served mediocre food, but the servers were excellent. For example, ordering a spinach dip pita app, they took the frozen dip, microwaved it and the dish, and tossed one cheese slice in the middle as the "cheese garnish". Buyer beware. Never going back to pay exorbitant prices for substandard food. Hope it helps others save their cash.

My wife and I have been to the Symposium in London and one in Toronto. We went to this one and the food was way different. The steak was over cooked and no seasoning. Veggies were almost cold. Carrot cake was cheap with the icing and had strawberries or something in it. The bruschetta was falling apart. The service was good and had a nice atmosphere though.

Omg the cakes are so good it’s more than a meal and our server was young and kind the best part we shared one and got to take the other home the hummingbird cake with coconut and the chocolate cake wow just look at the photos so good, please come it’s a great date night cake. Recently visited my family in Guelph and had a breakfast and lunch at the Symposium Restaurant. we found their breakfast and lunch to be excellent in term of food quality and price. it is also a great place to meet your friends and family for a breakfast and lunch. great place, definitely I will revisit next time I will be in Guelph.

More like two and a half stars. The atmosphere was great as was the server. Fantastic staff!! The food was a little disappointing though. The family I was with had great meals but I ordered the fish and chips special. The order was not correct (asked for no sides except fries but it came with the tarter sauce, mayo etc....) and the fish and fries were both cold. The server tried to help but that just made the food colder. I ordered a draft Budweiser but they were out. Two out of three of us had a great meal but me not so much. Not the server's fault though but the manager did not appear very concerned. When I placed the comment card the server gave me in the box by the exit a plaque on the wall above the box fell off and cracked me on my knuckles. A perfect end to the evening I guess. :)

Good seating and a great selection of fresh food at a reasonable price. Lots of fresh fruit and juice selection. Gets busy during peak times, Summerv time there is a very nice outdoor patio on the side of the resturant (where we took our small dog). I enjoy their breakfasts in particular the omlets. It is an Italian type with separate rooms for parties if necessary. We went here for lunch and it was extremely busy. There was a reservation for a hockey team and parents, plus the lunch rush. Our server was fantastic and the food was excellent and arrived pretty quickly. As busy as it was, it was an excellent visit. Would recommend it.

I had the Mediterianean Zucchini Bowl very dissapointed it was like a bowl of soup so much broth. My family and I stopped in here on our way home from the long weekend and I am so happy we did. We were greeted with a masked smile and right off the hop we weren't disappointed. I am a bit of a picky eater and they worked with me to make me what I was craving. They also helped when my son spilled his juice all over. Our waitress Breeze (I think) helped us clean up and did it with reassurance to my son. She was such a nice woman and her service was amazing. We ordered a agave chicken salad, fettuccine with chicken, kids pasta and a variation of avocado toast. All was served hot and tasted extremely good. We would recommend this place hands down and will for sure be returning.

The host at the front was very kind and quick to seat us, even allowed us to pick a spot on the patio. The server did very well, and somehow managed to wait on several tables all while training a new staff member- and did so effortlessly. The food came out fast and was delicious! Food is ok here, but the service is weird to say the least. Went here with my mom a couple weeks ago for breakfast and our server was extremely pushy in the sense he continuously asked myself and my mom if we wanted to order anything else, and even made several suggestions despite us not asking for them. The first time we thought he was just being a professional and attentive server, but after asking us a total of 5 times in a span of an hour or so if we wanted to order anything else, despite us politely declining, it was borderline aggressive to say the least. This place clearly pushes their servers to make sales on days that are kind of slow. It was uncomfortable for me and my mom, because we are not the type of people to complain about anything. Not to mention our breakfast was already pretty expensive for a small portion and we simply weren't looking to be pressured into spending more money. Restaurants should offer a welcoming and comfortable environment for customers. Nobody wants to pay for a meal that they can't enjoy without being hassled the entire time.

We also saw the manager or owner yelling at one of his staff right on the floor in front of customers. Our server needed more training on the iPad she was using for ordering. Had dinner here tonight with my husband. The food was amazing! My husband is a burger fanatic and said the banquet burger he ordered was one of the best burgers he has ever had. I had the steak sandwich and it was amazing! We decided to splurge on the desserts. The waitress took us to the dessert case and walked us through what each cake was. She gave great descriptions and they were accurate! She said the carrot cake was the best we would ever have and it was! My Mom & I have dined here several times. The food is usually good, but the service is never efficient (although at least pleasant). A couple of days ago though, it was awful! Our server exhibited very poor attitude, verging on rude (eye-rolling when I asked for something & she ‘tossed’ the POS machine on the table at the end). I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. It came complete with plastic wrapping inside & lukewarm fries. It was impossible to do anything about it; our server was nowhere to be seen during our meal. Some people came in with masks but most did not & no protocol enforcement was evident. Our table was not clean (didn’t notice until after we sat down); this is a huge concern, especially during these times! Probably won’t return!!!

I went to the Symposium last night for the first time and it definitely wasn't a comfortable experience. The staff wasn't bluntly rude but having multiple staff members starting at your table watching in amusement, and having multiple staff members continue to interrupt our dinner within less than 5 minutes of each other the dinner experience was uncomfortable and rushed. My friend had been trying to tell us a simple story that shouldn't have taken long but he was interrupted at least four times. The meals also came out cold, the two pasta plates even had undercooked hard pasta. We wanted to eat at this establishment to have a nice dinner before the movie with about an hour or so to have dinner but was out of the restaurant in about 20 minutes. I personally wouldn't visit or recommend this location to any of my friends. I feel like I paid to have a group of people to watch me eat opposed to having a enjoyable dinner with my friends. I also wanted to order a few other item's from the menu but I didn't feel comfortable. The staff was practically pushing us out the door. None of us actually even finished our meals or drinks.

The first time my family came here, we went for breakfast and we all enjoyed everything! I ordered the Belgian waffle (I had chocolate chips added), and my dad had the steak and eggs. I tried some of his food and almost ended up eating all of it because it was so good. Even my dad who can be a tough one to please enjoyed his food. Everything was amazing (food and service) and it left me wanting more. The only thing I I would've liked better is if the waffle was made with chocolate chips inside, not put on the top. Our server was super nice and even let my dad get normal fries instead of home fries, even though it was 10:40 and lunch hadn't started yet. The pricing was surprisingly not bad. We will definitely be back soon to try their lunch or dinner and desserts (they look amazing)!

We go to Symposium on a weekly basis. The staff is very helpful and friendly ... Ahbin one of the managers does a great job. Food is good and reasonably priced. We are big fans of their broccoli and cheddar soup, which is delicious.... The desserts are to die for.... Highly recommend the Hummingbird cake (banana bread with lots of icing). A great place to go for lunch or dinner

Worst chicken tenders I have ever received! Payed 21$ I got 6 tenders that were honestly the size of my pinky finger, I got 10 fries and the meal was ice cold. I called the restaurant and asked politely what the size of the tenders should be and roughly how many fries I should have gotten. The person on the phone could barely speak english and during the second time when I asked about what I should have gotten (because he didn't understand the first time) he said "Thank you goodbye" and hung up the phone.

Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a coffee. Anything you get here will come with great service. More than once, the manager of the restaurant has come to my table to ask if the food is good, and he does so with lots of other people I'm sure. Waiters are friendly and know their menu well. As for the food, you really can't go wrong with the breakfast menu. The juice is a bit expensive but you will enjoy it. And as the brand is known for their cakes, you can expect some of the best cake for dessert you may ever eat. Make reservations for weekends, especially if it is Sunday morning. Parking can be tough sometimes.

When I was ready for the bill, my three year old was getting antsy, I asked for the bill and took my kids to washroom. On my return , no machine for debit and no takeout boxes as asked. My son got fired up and stated to run and still no machine for debit or boxes. I walked to front till. Paid bill and asked about boxes, at which point the server at back of restaurant pointed down at boxes and motions for me to pack up my food. ( sure no problem while my 3 year old runs laps ). I asked manager why not better service when I clearly needed some. He said they don’t like to touch customers food. Question here, don’t they “touch “!food to prepare it?

Dinner with four long-time friends, getting together three or four times a year to eat, drink and talk. Everyone enjoyed their meals, burger, three fish and chips, one tilapia in an orange sauce. All portions were a good size, food came out quickly, hot and delicious. Wine list is limited, but a grape variety for every taste. Lots of space, didn’t feel like people from another table were sitting on top of us. Definitely going back.

This Place is Great. This was my first visit to this newer restaurant, and I'm glad I did. The menu is extensive, but not expensive. There is something for Everyone. I got the Steak & Salad Bowl. Was in town during a business trip and luckily I was staying nearby Symposium. Decided to give it a try, oh boy i was not deceived! Ordered some Calamari as entree and the Butter Chicken Rice Bowl. During the smail wait, i contemplated the beautiful decor. Artistic paintings, offering a nice ambiance. The Calamari arrived quite fast, they happen to be, wait for it... Probably the best Calamari ever tried! (Big statement i know, but stand behind it) They were tender and had just enough crust + dipping sauce A1! Followed by the main dish that was exquisite! Awesome staff and great service! Will definitely come back. Can i guve 6 stars here?

I had the three eggs breakfast, my boyfriend had the western omelette. Both breakfasts were very good. Service was good. Ordered 2 cakes, the strawberry shortcake and the raspberry chocolate cheesecake. Both cakes were extremely stale. They were hard, the whipped cream was hard, and it was as if they were left out for a week. Overall good experience except for the outdated stale cake. Would not recommend their cakes.

Horrible experience. Ordered $125 worth of food and left a decent tip. Both burgers wrong. Manager was going to remake and everything was good but owner calls me 5 minutes later saying I need to get it out of the garbage and bring it back to show exactly what was wrong as they dont put mayo on burgers meanwhile mine was drenched in it. He was rude and this was absolutely horrible customer service. Will not be supporting this place ever again and not recommending them to anyone!

We were really surprised to learn that menus were no longer available to look at. Only provided a scan to download on a cell phone which we did not have with us. I ordered the Avocado Toast which I have ordered before and was surprised to see that the price was now $14.00 plus coffee which is way more that it is worth. The avocado is spread extremely thin on the toast and the fruit cup was not fresh. Definitely disappointed with our food. The service was great!

Been this restaurant a bunch of times and it is always a good experience. Went with my girlfriend the last time and we had our dogs with us, called ahead and they told us we could bring them on the patio. Our waiter (I believe his name was Frank) was incredible, offered to bring the dogs water, and took excellent care of us. The owner is always super friendly and comes around to make sure everything is good. The food is delicious and well priced, the patio is amazing in the summer. One of the best spots to eat in Guelph in my opinion!!

The calamari was nice but the portion was small for the price charged. All in all the food was good. Service was friendly and the bill came to over $80 for the both of us. I think it was supposed to have coleslaw, too. Nonetheless, the meat was tender and tasty. Husband liked his fish and chips. Will go back.

I had a birthday here on October 19th 2019 for my partner. Joseph was very helpful on the phone with ordering the birthday cake and some appetizers for the group. The Food and drinks were delicious and the service was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant.

Incredibly incompetent staff, took them 3 tries to make one lactose-free latte and then put spoiled curdled milk in it. Masks below nose, and a lot of servers maskless serving food. Absolute worst café I’ve been to, and i never bother to give poor reviews.

This is a brand new restaurant. It smells new so you have to like that. I had french onion soup and it was nice. I also had a turkey bacon club sandwich and it was good. What's cool about this place is the 30-foot ceilings with the frisco drawings and the bar reaching up to the ceiling and a fabulous dessert display. My waitress was friendly and hospitable.

My visit here was not disappointing. The quality of the food was very good and the portion sizes were decent. The waiter came promptly and took our orders and the food was received within an appropriate period of time. I will definitely return for another meal. Recommended!!

VERY unimpressed with this place today. U ordered an eggs benny with a fruit cup and instead received 2 overpoached eggs on an english muffin - its missing the peameal and the hollandaise sauce. They also forgot the fruit cup that tjey charged me 3.50 for. Absolutely ridiculous ????

I went with my mother and mother in-law for a late Mother's Day celebration. The food tasted ok but it was cold. When we told the manager he maintained that the plates felt hot when they came over. The cheese on the spinach dip was so cold it was one piece. The chicken and steak bites were also cold. Even though our waitress agreed with us, the manager basically said we were lying. We weren't looking for a freebie but an acknowledgement would have been nice. Terrible customer service by the manager ruined our evening. This guy should not be working in the restaurant business. There are lots of other places to go in Guelph that would appreciate the opportunity to have your business.

We always stop here for a meal whenever we are in Lindsay. The food is always great. Our waitress is usually Roxanne. She actually remembers us whenever we come in. Had steak and eggs today, the steak was really good. Ordered some cake to take home because they have the best cake anywhere around the kawartha. (I'm not kidding, it's amazing). Just noticed they also deliver. Will definitely go back. Say hi to Roxanne.

Got the menus pressed in our hand and they told us to pick a spot and they took off. Once we ordered I asked for my soup before the main course. The soup was OK (would not order again) but the main course arrived in less than 1 minute after receiving the soup. Ridiculous. Ended up eating both my soup and my main cold. My friends ordered something that was supposed to be hand breaded. Everyone could see that this is not the case, it was processed meat. What you're getting for the price, it's definitely not worth it! And it's so sad because 2 years ago, all of us really enjoyed it. Feeling that it was worth the money. Not anymore.

Food was mediocre at best , the burger was not juicy , very little portions of fries for the price ( and they were the best part of the meal ) the fish was good once you got the soggy batter off of it, poutine gravy needs work , chicken finger portions tiny, desserts were nice ice cream and brownie as well as carrot cake were both satisfying after the not so great experienced food dishes .........service was great though

Overpriced, extremely rude servers . I ordered mussels they were all broken up I almost cut my mouth open several times. I didnt get a refund or new dish of mussels. The server I had was extremely rude I filled out comment card and became very aggressive and had to wait till the new mnmanager came on shift the current manager was ",too busy".

Fast and friendly service! The food is simply amazing!!! We went to Kelsey’s in Lindsay and had a terrible experience with waiting for over an hour for drinks and appetizer!!! Symposium did nothing less than completely turn our night around! I can’t praise them enough! From the time we walked in the door until we received our meal was a little under 30 minutes!!! We went for breakfast this morning. They weren't busy at all. We got a seat right away. After about 4 minutes the table behind us was seated and the waitress attended to them almost immediately. We waited until after she brought them their beverages. By then we were ready to order our meal. The home fries were dry and hard, my toast was literally warm bread, not toasted at all and one slice had no butter on it! All in all, a very disappointing experience!

I called to ask about making a reservation and was told they aren't taking any but that there are lots of chairs and we would find a seat. We came, stood in line, were asked twice how many were in our party and ended up being told to sit in one available seat on the sun without any type of shade. Our table was the only one without an umbrella. There were 3 of us but only 2 chairs. So we were told to just grab a chair, that wasnt wiped down. We sat for 10 mins but no one came to us. We ended up leaving after other people were served before us. Not ready for reopening. Only 2 servers that we saw taking care of everyone
