A small and somewhat seedy watering hole in the down town core. Ironically, you'd think that the drinks might be cheaper because there is absolutely no ambience or anything to make this place stand out. Sticky floors, decrepit furniture and tacky Christmas lights hanging off a faux tree greet you upon entry shrouded by a dangling red curtain. The only thing decent about this place was ONE very busy bartender who, like a Whirling Dervish, kept a room full of people stocked with libations.

Read good reviews online so went with some friends to try it out. None of the servers wore masks and there was no trace calling. Drinks were overpriced and the charcuterie board was a bad rip off. Barely any cheeses or meats (and we ordered the large). Save your money.

Went to karaoke on Sunday and the singers were all amazing. The drinks were great and the tacos were delicious. Service was quick. The regulars at the bar were friendly and trying to get us to sing.

Starting going here regularly 3 or 4 months after it opened. Ended up working in the kitchen for a while before quitting to be a musician, but it's still my favourite spot in guelph to grab a burger, crush some pints, and catch up with friends. Feels like home!

Really enjoyed my night here last week. Went with a group, got drinks, had a nice time. Service was good and the drinks were well done with good variety for any palette. I think anyone that's a fan of cocktails would like it here, and overall it makes for a great lounge to start or (or in our case) end the night on.

We had dinner here last night....it was FABULOUS The drinks were on point and the food was out of this world! I had the fish tacos and my partner had steak. Delicious! Used to be a nice place for dinner and drinks, the last experience I had there has ruined all good thoughts about it though. The onion rings were my favorite appetizer, got them every time I went and they were a great portion size to share. This time the onion rings were only half battered, tiny in comparison to my past experiences, not enough to share between 2 people, and DEFINITELY not worth $9.50. I could have gotten better at Harveys for less than half the cost. The service was also terrible, after finishing our appetizer we had to go to the bar to request coffee, and waited 25 minutes for 2 cups, when we requested a dairy free milk the waitress rolled her eyes at us and said they don't do that here.... At a place that has vegan foods, really? We finished our coffees and still nobody came to our table so we could order our dinner. Waited another 15 minutes before having to go up to the bar to get the bill. Absolutely terrible. Will never be going here again.

Wednesday night trivia with Jen and Paul is the only reason I ever go back. The food is okay, but the wait staff need to be a bit more attentive to their customers. They rarely check in on you to see if you're okay or need anything. Most of the time I'm trying to get their attention. They also need to serve more local beer, like some of the surrounding restaurants/bars do.

I really wanted to like this place. The food and service was good (not amazing, but good). The ambiance is very nice. But the beer; ugh...they need training on how to clean their lines properly. I had 3 different pints and each of them had a degree of skunk flavour. Some were worse than others. I had one pint that i couldn't even get past my nose before sending it back. The others weren't so pungent, but still had a bit of an off taste.

I am enjoying the Cajun Fish Taco and beet soup at Sip Club, as we speak. Delicious treatment of the fish. The haddock is lightly coated with a well-spiced bread crumb mixture. The haddock sits inside a soft taco on a bed of fresh pico de gallo. Salad or soup accompanies the tacos, and I chose the 'soup of the day'; beet soup. Suffice it to say that if I was at home, I'd lick the bowl! :) Delicious food and comfortable surroundings on the back patio, which is partly roofed. So rain or shine, I can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air! Cheers!

Not the worst bar I've been to downtown. Waitress was okay, bar was a bit unprofessional closing down early due to it being a slow Sunday. Their food was OK. Not the best wings I've eaten and one of the bigger ones were raw. Their shrimp was good. Alright selection of beers.

I remember when this used to be Molly Blooms. It's a definite improvement. It's a shame it's as small as it is because it's always busy, but I guess that's a good thing. They have live music frequently, some good bands with lots of variety. The only drawback is that it makes it quite loud for conversation, but I guess I'm old now and like it a bit quieter ????

There are a lot of good options for vegitarian and vegan diet on the menu. Cider on tap was nice to find too. Loved the patio with vines and lighting. Have been back since our first visit because we liked the fish and tofu taco so much, they do a great job with the tofu.

Great food and atmosphere, but the service is often lacking. I have been to the Sip Club many times, and on multiple occasions I have waited 5 to 10 minutes for my drink order to be taken (when sitting at the bar, where I am in clear sight of the bartender). Would deserve a 5-star review with better service. Last night at the Sip Club my drink was empty and I waited more than 10 minutes to be asked if I wanted another drink, while a staff member who was also sitting at the bar next to me was served 3 separate drinks in the time that I waited. Service like that makes me not want to go back, but I inevitably return when other pubs in the area are full. (Hint, perhaps Sip Club is not full because of the poor service!)

Always amazing!! The new owners Dewey and Hilary are just killing it, very happy to see them succeed in taking over. Most notably for me is their focus on establishing themselves as a place for live music. Guelph needs a good show spot. For any aspiring or experienced musicians, an open mic night runs every Tuesday. Alternating weekly between an acoustic night and a full band night which is just simply epic. Have played along the hosting musicians for a few years and i enjoy every moment. Amazing food, great beers and friendly staff. Worth a visit for sure :)

Best bar in town. They make everyone feel like a regular from the moment you walk in the door. The owner and staff go above and beyond to make your experience fun and comfortable. Even adding a personal fire or heater if you look the slightest bit cold on the patio. Cocktail selection is amazing and the fish tacos are to die for. 10/10 would recommend!

The layout means that the place gets really congested the moment a decent number of people show up. But it's the only place that I've seen that reliably has a crowd on a Sunday. Everywhere else was closed or deserted and this place was still live.

The food wasnt great. I ordered the trout and risotto, and it was very unexpectedly deep fried and overdone. My boyfriend ordered the short ribs, he enjoyed them but the portion size was very small. Halfway through our meal, the musician started to play and was extremely loud which meant we had to yell over the table to chat with our group. Might be good if you are interested in the "going out" vibe but not for dinner or drinks with friend where you want to chat and just enjoy their company! Would not return.

This place is always changing (and so far, for the better), so if you have a bad experience or don't like the menu, check back in a few months and chances are it'll be different. As of July 2016 my only gripe is that the food is sometimes slow, but quality-wise is top notch. Also: live music and one of the few places consistently open late throughout the week.

Had great experience- staff was awesome, - Happy and friendly -our waitress recommended the special which was scallops with cauliflower puree, onions and brussels sprouts. I asked for mashed potatoes as I had some dental surgery so didn't want anything hard. She said they didn't have but the chef just happened to appear so I asked him if he could make me some. His reply was of course I can, would take a little time but we had it. They were the best mashed potatoes I' d had in a restaurant. Told them they need to add to menu, so we will see.Lol

Understand that restaurants are undergoing tough covid times but food was not up to expectations from previous visits. 1 lb wings for $15 was 6 very small wings (they still don't have blue cheese which should be a given with wings). Loaded nachos were hardly loaded with barely enough cheese to cover half the nachos and very little beef was sprinkled on as a paid extra. Last time about a year ago got the same order and the offering was worth telling others about...disappointed this time. Service was friendly.

A close friend of mine is a valued musician in Guelph, that also has special needs. The Sip club used them for entertainment, then kicked them out after. When I accompanied this person back to the Sip club two weeks after, to advocate for their re - admittance. We we're treated rudely and unfairly by the female manager there. When I returned 3 weeks later to have a nice & peaceful time with another friend. The same manager with the long blonde hair refused me a drink for no apparent reason. Stating it was because I had shown up with their ex musician two weeks prior. This place has gone far in the mis treatment of people. The manager again was cold and emotionless in her miss use of power. Boasting a complete display in her ability to property manage a business establishment nor handle any form of customer relations. I have never had one issue in any Guelph establishment for the 26 years I have lived here. The Sip club has gone down hill. And has become an ethical disgrace to a community such as Guelph. Stand with me against discrimination to those with special needs, and take your business elsewhere, to more deserving establishments.

Nice spot to visit in Guelph. I came here with a few of my friends. COVID: They appeared to be following rules. Allowing up to certain amount of guests at a time. Hand sanitizer available and sign in is required. Atmosphere: This place looks like it would be hype at night as there was a stage for bands/artists to play. Food: Fish Tacos with salad & with fries (4/5) - Tacos were bit on the salty side but still tasted good. I think with some heat, it could elevate the taste! - Caesars salad was pretty good. Can’t go wrong on this one. - Fries were made fresh to order Service: 10/10. Our server was very friendly and kind. The rest of the staff were also very sweet. I will definitely be dropping by this place again, hopefully post covid, to try out more items on their menu. Cheers!

This was one of my favourite spots downtown but the new menu is a bit limited. The Jackfruit tacos were decent but felt like I was eating barbeque sauce in a tortilla. Fries were great. Great environment and space to hang out with friends and trivia was fun. The staff is also phenomenal but miss the variety of the old menu. (Also the burgers used to be amazing but looks like they only offer one now)

The for chairs I've sat in are broken, server couldn't leave the ice out of my drink no matter how many times I asked and then he even tried to keep for extra dollars. Not impressed. And the staff smack talking about customers when making drinks... Wow... Seriously thought high-school was over

Amazing chill spot in downtown Guelph, they had karaoke out front and live music inside as well . Amazing servers and service . Amazing beer crafted locally . I asked for a Canadian dude said let me get you one that's better , glad I trusted him cause it was great . This place made me feel at home and made me wanna move to Guelph To sum it up Amazing service Chill atmosphere Amazing people And great food and drinks

I'm not usually one to write a review however my experience at the Sip Club was simply garbage, theres really no other word for it. I was there for my 19th birthday along with my five friends, after waiting for nearly 25 minutes to get a drink I walked up to the bar and asked if it would be too much trouble for someone to make my drink, then returned to my table. The waiter walked over, got about six inches from my face and asked "whats your problem buddy". I explained to him that it had been nearly a half hour since I'd placed my first drink order and had yet to receive a drink or be attended to. "Don't be an idiot buddy" was his response, he then said "I think you'll get the bill" implying that I had to leave. So to summarize, when I complained about blatant incompetence and the poor service I was then berated with insults and told to leave. Whoever owns this place should be absolutely embarrassed, and if I had it my way, I would fire that idiot of a waiter

Atmosphere is always pretty great and the food is decent. I like how an older crowd hangs out here. But service doesn’t really exist and is pretty slow. There wasn’t a server for our table and we had to get up and go to the bar and wait at least 10 minutes everytime we wanted a new drink. I would recommend this place if you only wanted one drink.

Went with a group of co workers. We got a drink fairly quickly but it went down hill very fast after that. We asked for a menu and got one menu at our table . When our drinks came, one person said what they wanted to eat and the person left without asking the rest of us at the table. I then waited for 20 minutes starving and wanting another drink when no one came back to the table ever. Friends at next tables never had anyone come to the table despite given menus. Music (band) was great that night. Went to bar to ask for drink and ordered two for myself as I figured I'd never get the chance again:( Some of my friends left hungry. Not good! They could have made a lot of money that night on food and drinks but we had literally NO SERVICE!!

I liked the ambience of Sip Club. They have a nice outdoor patio to the side of the bar. My drink was about average, nothing special. Ordered an appetizer which was good.
