It was my first time visiting Manhattans, and I came on Friday around 5. I was eating alone and the host was VERY friendly and professional. He made me feel not awkward coming to eat alone. I ordered a pizza and it was amazing! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food!

A beautiful restaurant filled with lovely people and featuring absolutely delicious food. We were fortunate to spend our anniversary here and the hosts were all so very kind to us, even playing a special song for us, and getting the live musical act to do the same. The food was a delight and was fresh and as flavourful (moreso likely) than anything else in the region. Highly, highly recommended!

Great experience! Right away we were welcomed and seated by a classy well dressed man, which really set the tone for the night. Great ambience and decor along with soft lighting, really set the mood. Throw in an exceptional three piece Jazz band, some incredible drinks along with some incredible food and we had a perfect Friday night. Highly recommend you take your better half and do something different.

I have eaten here at least a dozen times and I've always been impressed. Beautiful atmosphere and great food. Every time I've been there the owner Thomas is there a greeting patrons. It's nice to see a business where the owner takes great pride in his establishment and is always on hand to ensure great service.

If you're looking for great food, amazing atmosphere and staff that are second to none, look no further! We have visited Manhattan 's 3 times, twice pre-COVID and once post, and I honestly cannot say enough to truly explain how wonderful it is. The drinks were deliciously crafted and the food...wow, the food! The pizzas are the best in Guelph, gourmet and fresh, the toppings are generous and tasty, and the chili oil, it is on another level. The gnocchi was so soft and flavourful, I savored every bite! All of those things being said, it is the staff who really make this place spectacular! Each and every person is friendly and helpful, it is obvious that they care about the experience their guests have and go out of their way to ensure you have a memorable time. Doug was our server again this time, what a genuinely amazing human being! The level of service that Doug provides can only be described as stellar, an amazing soul! Go to Manhattan 's, you will not be disappointed.

Our first visit there last night for an impromptu dinner out, and we loved it! Reservations are definitely needed, especially as it gets closer to the time that the live music starts! They keep the menu straightforward and simple, choosing to focus on what they offer instead of offering 8 pages of items. You can tell that they take great pride in their food, and it reflects in the taste. We will be returning again, with reservations this time, and closer to the live music start time!

Wonderful live music, however we had a poor waitress. Not every attentive: had to asked for bread 3 times, came 15 min later, waitress solemnly came by to check , we refilled our now water and got our own steak knifes. Food also below average for price they charge. Stick with the pizza as fish and steak were too salty. Pasta also lacked taste.

Wasn’t sure what to expect as it’s located in a strip plaza. Shocked when we went in. Great jazz music. Fabulous atmosphere. And our dinner was delicious! They even have gluten-free pizza! Hubby had the vegan special and really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this place. Suggest that you make a reservation though. We were lucky as we just walked in for an early dinner on Sunday night.

Disappointing at best. Started out well and soon went downhill. I ordered the Lamb shank, and my wife ordered the Hangar steak. The Lamb was not worth the price at all. The steak was so tough that my wife ate 2 pieces after several minutes of chewing and decided it wasn't worth the effort. The potatoes had the texture and taste of play dough, and the chimi churi sauce was nothing but bitter. Now we all know that restaurants can have a bad dish once in a while, but they decided to insult us by saying they would give us $7.00 off a meal that was not edible. Then the server we had decided to start ignoring us and actually had someone else come to collect the bill. At this point I had had enough and abruptly told the new server that this was not acceptable. They finally, and hesitantly decided not to charge us for my wife's inedible meal. Don't think I have to say it, but we will not return. If they had immediately apologised for the meal and said they wouldn't charge us, I would be more willing to give them a second chance, but as they initially insulted us with a $7.00 off the $130.00 meal it left us with a very bad experience.

I was first introduced to Manhattan pizza twenty years ago. I moved to Vancouver often wondering when I would get the opportunity to come back. Well, today was the day, From the moment I walked in...it felt like I I was home. Since the day I left I have been craving the Caesar Salad and their pizza. I was overwhelmed by how good it still tasted. I was speaking to the wonderful owner (Thomas) and asked him if he could bottle and sell his dressing to the public? I do hope that he eventually will... as I would be willing to but stocks in it! Needless to say...as I was leaving....I was wondering.....when the next time I will be back and to feel this excited about a restaurant. I cannot wait to return again. We dropped in as a group of five on a snowy Wednesday evening without reservations. No problem grabbing a table next to one of the fireplaces and everything else with the evening ran great. Food was delicious (loved my hanger steak main as well as the roasted cauliflower soup) and I can give a strong recommendation for the bread pudding, they have it up for a special. Loved the live piano background music. The hostess and waitress couldn’t have been better. Overall, it was a lovely night and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

This is how a restaurant experience should be. Food, service and the right attitude aplenty. Food tastes great, smells like food, and is presented well not out of the box like it is from any of those loud obnoxious xyz chains. Service is attentive, but not overly so and is not condescending. We were made to feel welcome , offered coat checks upon entering, and were accommodated with seats and a spot to eat and drink even though they were sold out for the night. The atmosphere was inviting. The smells from the various plates of food that were being served to everyone made our mouths water. Menu selection is first rate and more than competitively priced. We even were able to listen to live music that was fantastic. Not too loud and the performances were worthy of awards. Thank you Thomas for the wonderful restorative experience we received. It was worth the drive from Kitchener. Restauranteurs from the KW area need to go here so see how it should be done! AND a special thanks to the Nick Maclean Quartet with Brownman Ali! Your music made our week!

Manhattans was a wonderful surprise. It is the kind of place you would drive by every day and not necessarily think about visiting. When you do visit, you are instantly transported to another world. With live (but not too loud) music six days a week and paired with amazing food, it is a place not to be missed. The staff were amazingly helpful and friendly. Make sure you make a reservation on weekends.

Absolutely fantastic! The food and the service were amazing, they were able to accommodate my 15mo son with a real highchair! As a mom I don't appreciate restaurants that offers a very uncomfortable hard wood highchair so that was a very nice surprise for us. We had the lamb, the gnocchi, a pizza and the burrata, it was so delicious!! We are definitely coming back, this is now one of our favorite restaurants in Guelph.

We've always had a good time here. I tend to find places like this focus more on either the food or the music. The two are in perfect balance here. The music is enjoyable, and right for the size of the room. The food is excellent and the wine list is on par. They are willing to handle special requests and always do so with wit and warmth. One of the places I miss from Guelph.

I'm a glass half full kind of guy and being that way can be tiring when your day is busy. Going out for dinner and being served is usually a good way to feel better. Tonight at Manhattans that was not the case. The drink orders were wrong and forgotten, the appetizer soup was frozen and the pizza felt like it was pulled from a fridge. The waitress was non existent as she did not bring one thing to our table. All that being said, maybe we caught them on a half empty kind of day.

We didnt getbto see much of the band because of our early reso but the atmosphere and service was off the hook. Also if you want to spice it up with a fancy cocktail - try the acid jazz! Soooooo good! Charcuterie and lamb shank are highly recommended as well! We'll have to try and get a late reso next time to enjoy the band's more!

I did not find this place to be compelling. We have tried it two times. The first time, the Lamb flatbread was soggy, and the pizza was average. The Price was not in line with the quality. The staff were friendly, but the food just didn't warrant the price. Soggy Lamb Flatbread - really sticks in your mind. The second time we tried it - our friend bought us $100 Gift Certificate for Christmas. We went in early around 5:30 and asked for a table. The hostess was friendly, until we let them know (As a courtesy - having been in the hospitality industry) that we had the gift certificate. The temperature dropped... The hostess immediately became dismissive, and snooty, and showed us a table. It appeared that no one wanted to serve us ... and we were served by multiple servers... I keep hearing from others how great this place is, but our two visits, just won't allow me to try this again. There are other great restaurants in Guelph who do the job much better.

So this place is always really busy and reservations are a must. I enjoy the live jazz music too. They have a great drink selection. When I ordered a margarita pizza, it had so little cheese, it was absurd. I understand that margarita pizza sometimes just has melted splotches of cheese, but frankly this was ridiculous. I would say that cheese covered less than a quarter of the surface of the pizza, and where is was, wasn’t very thick. There was also a lot of waiting for food, drinks, bill, and payment. Two friends had their pizza wrapped up and it was stacked so that it was gross when it was ready to be heated up. Also, when the bus person was resetting our table, she put the place settings on the booth’s seat and a fork fell onto the seat and then she put it on the table.

Our favourite restaurant in Guelph - we love visiting Manhattans for a quiet date night, or when entertaining friends from out of town. We often suggest it for meeting up with friends we haven't seen in a while or people new to Guelph. We always call ahead for reservations, even if just two of us, or for seats at the bar - it can be very busy (because it's so good!) on evenings Thursday-Sunday. Our favourite dish is the starter caesar salad - the best in the whole Guelph area as well as the meat lovers pizza. They always have awesome floral displays for Christmas too; and they host private office parties, birthdays and weddings. We hosted our close friend's 30th birthday there and a networking group holiday lunch.

My grandparents love this place, they use to go multiple times a week! Loved the food and live music. Unfortunately the owner of this establishment appears to be an anti-masker. I've seen him at stores all over town without a mask. This makes me seriously question the entire restaurant's safety protocols. Truly disappointing behaviour to see from a local business owner, do better Manhattans!

The food was excellent. A nice cozy atmosphere with live music. They take donations for the band which is kind of odd but fair enough when you consider they probably don't pay them much to be there. Service was very good. Not rushed. I would go back.

Pizzas were awesome, great topping combinations and especially great crust. A note that some of the mains are quite expensive, but the pizza is more affordable option. I had a large pizza and was surprised how big it was! So a small is definitely sufficient for a single person. The drink options were nice, as well as the desserts. I had the toffee pudding which was very tasty! The live music was really amazing. Great service and a very cozy atmosphere! Would highly recommend for a date night. Will definitely be returning to repeat the wonderful experience! Looking forward to trying all the enticing menu options!!

Visited Manhattans in Guelph for the first time this evening. This place really has it all. The food is incredible, some live Jazz in the background and the owners of the restaurant checking in on the tables. We ordered the Muscles and the cheese platter as an appetizer. Best muscles I've ever had. All 4 of us ordered various Steaks, perfectly cooked. Hats off to the chef!

What an enriching experience. This is a gem in Guelph that I am so grateful to have discovered! The service was top notch, the food was delicious, the setting was beautiful and classy, and that doesn't even begin to describe how wonderful this place is! Who knew such a beautiful experience could be found in a little strip mall?? Truly felt transported to another place! The live music was certainly the best part, "the piano man" was absolutely incredible to watch as his fingers fluttered across the keys effortlessly. His beautiful voice, his comedy, and his interactions with the audience made you feel part of the show. Susie, the vocalist who joined him, had a gentle rasp you don't see much of these days. She didn't try to oversell songs, but rather let her voice naturally carry the music across the room with a resonance and timbre that can't be adequately described. They both had incredible mic control that was just a joy to watch, and a lesson for any aspiring singer. If they see this, I hope they know how appreciated their talents are!!

Me and my family went to Manhattans this past weekend to celebrate me graduating university. It was our first time coming to this restaurant and we all had the most wonderful time. The food and drinks were awesome and the live music was a wonderful experience. We chatted throughout the evening with the owner and he was over the top friendly and welcoming. If you want a classic cocktail this is your best bet in the Guelph area. Every item I've ever ordered here has been delicious, fresh, and filling. Their pizzas are great to order for the table. Staff is usually attentive, however the wait times for food and drinks can be long. With the live music the wait is worth it. I always try to bring friends here if they're not from the Guelph area because the atmosphere is so good.

Great food, ok service, super slow. It took 85 minutes to get our food. We waited to order apps, waited to order entrees, waited for our food, and even waited for our bill. It was a full 2 hours for dinner and the restaurant was only 60% full. We skipped dessert because we didn't want to wait another half hour. This would be a fine place for a date or a leisurely dinner, but too slow for a typical weeknight meal.

Is this really the #2 rated restaurant in all of Guelph? It has many positive aspects but not to a five star level, in my view. Five of us went for dinner Saturday at 5:30, so before the jazz trio started to play. At that time, it is not as crowded. The owner took the ladies' coats (so we needed to hunt for them later) and three of us waited 10 minutes for the last two of our group to arrive. During that time, we were not asked if we wanted to order drinks. Just sat there. After the two arrived, a server did finally take drink orders. Prices were as expected. Many imported beers and wines. We all wanted their artisan pizzas so we ordered two large (about $30-32 each). And the server convinced us to order two of the Crostini appetizer with roasted garlic and red peppers, etc. ($9) It was fine, but there was a lot of stuff for the few pieces of small toast bread that is included; why? Bread is cheap. Add more of the little toast slices, please. They make thin crust pizzas with unusual toppings. And their pastas are definitely not the typical stuff you get at Canadian/Italian restaurants. Both were very good, but not the best I have ever eaten. Nice atmosphere before it gets too crowded; a bit old-fashioned feeling, including the small stage for the band, with a red background; see my photo. The bar area is very nice, with a large aquarium. We saw some people sitting there to eat, perhaps because all the tables were taken. Reservations are a must on weekends and anytime a jazz trio will be playing. (We have had dinner here with jazz too; then it gets very noisy with about half the people trying to talk loud enough to be heard over the music.)

Bad Service...Totally ignored I think because it was busy and we had a table of 6 so waitress knew she was guaranteed a tip as it is included on the bill. We wanted a 6:30 reservation but were told they were full and had to take 7. Got there and the room was 1/3 full and still appetizers & drinks (lousiest Mojito EVER, if you cant make it don't say you can)! , took ages and the mains were close to an hour. Food was good , as long as you stuck to Pizza ...I had The Salmon and it was Flavourless, Rubbery and a waste of good money. So although I have had good experiences at Manhattan's--- I'm totally disappointed I took my guests there and afraid that it is going downhill. Even the live "Music".

This place is awesome. Great live jazz band to set a nice relaxed atmostphere and very tasty plates of pasta and pizza. I've been here 3 or 4 times now to sit and eat and everytime i've gotten something different. Each time the food has been great. They also make arguably the best pizza in Guelph. I pretty regularly ordered their pizza for take out over the years. It is more expensive than the local pizza pizza at something like $25 for an XL 3 topping pizza but I can't stress enough how much better it is. Service has also been on point every visit. No complaints, highly recommend!

Fantastic service for our friend’s bachelor party. I hope we came across as respectful, if joyous. We ordered several cocktails, many pizzas, and some wine. While the house merlot was perhaps unadventurous, our Chianti order paired well with the margarita-like pizza and their sausage pizza. Our waiters and waitresses were as friendly as anyone could ask. I can’t think of one fault with their service. The decor is a modern blend of faux antique lighting and trees, with elegant soft lighting and semi rustic wood furniture, a fish tank, and lit spots to draw attention to service counters. On some nights the venue is entertained by live musicians, who in our case were happy to tailor to our bachelor’s taste by request. We even met the manager in duty who was a charming gentleman. Overall this is a lovely place to visit and to be recommended.

Great night out with family, we had a reservation for 8pm and were seated at about 8:15, which was reasonable since it was a hopping Friday night. $5 Martinis were an excellent way to start the night, and smooth jazz rounded it out. The food was all quite good, pizzas and pasta. The staff was friendly, but a little swapped. Would recommend Manhattans if you like live music and good food.

This is a lovely spot for a really nice dinner. Even as they change up the menu they continue to create winners. The caesar salad was loaded with “lardons” and freshly grated cheezey goodness. An abundant serving of mussels in an apple cider broth was lovely and again more bacon bits. I will say though that the previous creamy vermouth sauce with mussels is my all time favourite. The duck breast was cooked perfectly. The orecchiette was delicious with intensely flavoured smoked chicken in a creamy/ cheezey sauce. Everything beautifully plated and served hot.Service was very attentive. Popular spot so reservations are a good idea.

So fabulous! A colleague and I were in town on course and were alerted to this treasure by a friend. Fabulous atmosphere and fantastic food; I had the shrimp quinoa and it was superb. I've been here twice now (years apart) and have had the same experience each time. First time I went, we waited over an hour for our pizza where guests that got there after us were receiving their food long before us. That time the waitress was absent and not attentive. Went again last night for a birthday celebration and had the same experience. Very slow and it wasn't at all busy. There was a table that we overheard complaining that they waited 2hrs for their food and they were leaving. Our pizza took over 45 minutes to come to us. To add to that, the waitress didn't even ask our order and kept dodging our table. We ordered through the hostess as we could flag her down. All in all, overpriced establishment for mediocre food and poor service. Go to Buon Gusto instead.

My wife and I without fail would order asiago bagel BLTs which came in a comvo for 7 bucks plus taxes. Great BLT for an ever greater value.

I used to really enjoy this place and it's sad to see it go so down hill. Despite making reservations we still waited over a half hour for for our table. Menu has changed, less options. Wait times were absolutely horrendous. Took well over 2 hours for pizza that was mediocre at best. Staff was rude and rolled eyes when we asked for the bills. Bills were all scrambled and our server had to bring all our bills and shout over the music to sort it all out. On top of this had to pay an 18% built in gratuity since we were a table of six. Honestly will not be returning. There are far better restaurants with better food and service. Don't waste your time or money here.

We went here on a Wednesday night. We were notified that they were running under a new management. They had live music, which was great. We ordered the soup of the day for starter and then Gillespie pizza for dinner. We were so hungry and the pizza was so good that we totally forgot to take a picture of it. And the soup was very flavourful. The staff was very nice and our server was very attentive to our table. At the end of the dinner, the owner came to our table to ask about our experience and how they can improve. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this place for an impromptu date night or if you're celebrating a special night!

We were a large group and everything was handled extremely well from the food to the drink orders and settling all the bills. The food and drinks are always delicious and the atmosphere was a great place to celebrate a milestone birthday!!! Thanks to all at Manhattans!

We drove to Guelph to bring our son home for Reading Week and decided to grab some take out for the ride home. Based on google reviews we chose Manhattan’s. We were not disappointed. Their pizza is fantastic. Perfectly baked, thin crust pizza with a crispy texture. Toppings were fresh and plentiful. And the gentleman kindly brought it to our car with complimentary Lindt truffles in celebration of Valentines Day. Next time we’re in Guelph we will definitely be back!

Dinner with fam on a Friday night with jazz. 5 of us and we all loved it. Great feel to the restaurant and a fair price. Incredible meals! *edit* having since been here 3 times with friends, fam, and my girlfriend this restaurant is the the best I’ve been to in Guelph. Parking is abundant and the owner truly takes pride in properly selecting and training his staff. With both of us having been servers it’s nice when a waiter knows timings and etiquette.

I visited Manhattan's on a Saturday night it was very busy we were seated around 8:00 there was a jazz band music was nice and the environment was cozy. Drinks were served promptly but the rest of our meals took a very long time dessert took 45 minutes for 1 creme brulee I had high expectations for this location as it received such a high rating but was disappointed by the food. The charcuterie board was good but entrees were not Pizza dough was very dry and the lamb pasta was very mushy. If you are very hungry I wouldn't reccomend this restaurant because of the extremely long wait times.

During our most recent visit we enjoyed the food immensely. Our compliments to the chef, as always. You can't beat a fine meal starting with baked brie and a charcuterie board followed by beautiful pastas, smoked duck, and artisan pizzas, finishing with delicious cheesecakes. All that while enjoying live jazz. We find the food and the ambiance fantastic and love to introduce friends to this gem of an establishment for all of that, but by far the hospitality of the owners, Darin and his wife, keep us coming back above all other reasons.

Booked for a large party, was quoted prices way higher then menu prices for a fixed menu and was told our group was paying for the experience and atmosphere. We asked for them to honour their menu prices and said otherwise we planned on looking for another venue and they told us "Good luck" spoke with 2 different people both were extremely rude and unprofessional.

I've gone to this place occasionally for a few years now. I am a huge fan of a few of the jazz musicians they bring in. I went there last week, I was greeted by the new managers. They are lovely people and are genuinely interested in making your dining experience enjoyable. Food was just as good as I remembered it being. The menu seemed smaller but there was a good variety for everyone. The food actually has flavour and has been crafted for you to enjoy it. Don't expect a plain meal. I highly suggest making reservations.

We had another amazing evening at Manhattans this past Sunday. We went to celebrate my son's 16th birthday and the food and atmosphere were the perfect combination for our group! My pizza and salad were delicious and the Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa was yummy and cold! The best part had to be the live entertainment. Stan and Erick were incredible on the keyboard and drums...I felt like I was listening to Louis Armstrong when Stan sang. Thanks for a memorable evening Manhattan's!

Best night ever! We have been going to Manhattans for years. Thomas has created and maintained one of the very best spots in Ontario... for fantastic food, great service, great live music, and a welcoming and just fun vibe. Tonight the the place was packed, but with a call ahead, and a tiny bit of patience, my son Isaac and I got a table, perfect pizza, busy attentive service with a smile.... and the music was awesome. First and foremost always make reservations on a weekend this place is happening and always busy. The food is fantastic and so is the staff, owner always comes around for visits which is a nice gesture. The live music is also a nice addition to the atmosphere of the already very trendy and classy restaurant. Had a Philly cheesesteak pizza that was to die for, the crust on thier pizzas is savoury and unlike any other. They also have a great selection of drinks from martinis to beers, would definitely recommend this place for a celebration of any sort or just a good night out.

Visited this restaurant for the first time and will not be returning. The pizza was truly terrible... like really bad. The dough had zero salt in it and was therefore completely tasteless. The dough had no rise to it at all, was flat like a pita. I don’t think they use yeast! No chew to it at all... was terrible. The salads were ice cold as if they’d been pre-made and sitting in a fridge all day. All desserts are “gluten free” which makes no sense considering that tons of people enjoy wheat based desserts and they are just catering to a tiny group of hippies. I think this place is popular for it’s live music but can honestly say the food was downright bad.

I've been twice both times I didn't enjoy it. Music was way too loud, you couldn't hear anyone from across the table. The food is mediocre, wouldn't say it's italian either. Prices are not good for the quality and what you get. For a great night out with friends to celebrate I could think of many other upscale places to go.

Horrible horrible service. Waitress was the worst I've ever experienced. I suggest people stay away from this place. Two hour dining window, waitress wanted to take our food order before taking our drink order. We didn't get our bread until 1/2 way through dinner. Waitress brought the desert menu then disappeared. We never got a chance to order it. Ordered a second bottle of wine, it didn't come until our two hour dining window was up. Then we were told we had to leave the table because the other group were waiting. If we had better service we would have been finished. The manager had a pathetic attitude and didn't care either way, he was more interested in leaning up against the wall - he didn't move the entire time we were there. If you want mediocre food and horrible service then by all means go to this place, but I would suggest you take a pass.

Great place to eat if you're a regular or know the owner. I'm from Guelph and would eat here about once or twice a year in our regular rotation, but there's always been an elitist attitude. I got sick of hearing "did you have a reservation, because we're fully booked" (when all the tables are basically empty). Or '"you can eat here as long as you're out by (insert time)." I can't tell you how many times we finished dinner, and still looked around at a half-empty room. However, if you're a regular you get the gold star treatment, they know who butter's their bread. After swearing off this place for over a year, we tried to book a table for dinner recently on a Saturday night in September and they said they were "closed for a private function." This isn't a banquet hall -- it should never be closed on a Saturday for a private function. But, guess what, it was closed for their regulars having a private birthday party -- a little birdie told me!! Guess what Manhattans, by playing favourites you've isolated yourself from many of the other socialites in the city, and word travels fast around Guelph. Short sighted business plan -- appeal to the few, not the many. I NEVER write reviews, but couldn't bite my tongue any longer.

I have been a customer for decades. I had my wedding there with Thomas at the helm!! It WAS our go to spot. Since new ownership I have been there several times and each time left disappointed. This past friday was my last visit. The service inexcusable and the food lacks taste and waiting 2 hours to receive it makes for a very bad experience.

Love this little gem! We came across this place by accident when we took a detour on our way home (ok, I made a wrong turn).... We were hungry and decided to give Manhattans a try. From the moment we walked in we loved it. With the eclectic decor, well stocked bar, live music and friendly staff, we knew it would be a good night. Service was great- not rushed despite not having a reservation. The food was delicious, my martini was perfect, and the dessert....... Mmmm. Despite it being loud with people talking over the music, Manhattan's was definitely a pleasant surprise and we will go back again and again.

Pleasant staff who wanted to provide good service however a little rough around the edges. Our server needed a little refinement but she did a good job attending the table. Food was ok, not great, not bad. I was tempted to give 3 stars on this review because of its’ quality. Had a Carbonara pasta with chicken where sauce was very “floury” at first bite. My wife’s dish was the same item with shrimp added and she felt it was 2 out of 5 stars. Desserts were good - better than the entrees. One true negative of service was the tea served my wife. Hot water served to steep the tea was not hot but only tepid. No milk offered either. If you’re a tea drinker these are big things and should have been done better. All in all a pleasant evening. Enjoyed one set of the jazz duo and we would return.

We wanted to take our daughter out for a nice meal and didn't want to go to a big chain restaurant. We had been to Manhattan's for lunch and enjoyed it. The decor is homey and welcoming and the staff was friendly. Though we were told our table was sold in just under 2 hours. We were only in for a quick dinner so that was fine. Menu choices were limited and for the portion size, in my opinion, overpriced. My friend quinoa was little more than that - tasty but not a real meal. My daughter did enjoy the cod and said "it was just what she needed." That made our meal worthwhile. I DID enjoy my $5 martini and if I were dining when the entertainment began later in the evening I would have felt better about the menu pricing. Will I go back? Maybe for lunch.

Food was delicious but terrible service. There were 3 servers andonly 2 tables including outselves (2 people). It took 15 mins for our drinks, 30 for our appetizer (carpaccio) and an hour for our mains (we both ordered the chicken marsala). Check was brought quickly after we finished and we weren't asked if we wanted dessert. We were clearly being rushed out. At 9:25 the server told us they were closed so we'd leave, even though they don't close till 10 (we were only sitting and talking not ordering more food). Food was good but very unhappy with the service.

Haven't tried the food here yet but I've been a couple times for cocktails and it's always been a good time! Ownership and Servers are friendly and great live entertainment both times I've been there. Valentines day they gave out long stemmed roses for the ladies which I thought was a nice touch! Had a reservation for 14 weeks ahead of time and they did not bring in additional server. They actually booked us at 2 different tables in the same.area in stead of rearranging the tables to allow us to all sit together. The waitress was a disaster. Very passive aggressive and soooooo slow. Everytime she came to our table she complained about something. Our meal lasted almost 4 hours. The pizza was just ok. Crust wasn't the greatest. Toppings didn't feel fresh or very flavorful. Id say the only positive was that the live music was such a nice touch.

I was excited to try this place as people spoke very highly of it. We were very disappointed. The only good part of the meal was the Cesar salad. We ordered 2 small pizzas and they were nothing special. We then had dessert (Boston Cream Pie). They forgot to inject the custard into the pie. It was vanilla cake with whipped cream for $12. On top of everything, our waiter was M.I.A for a lot of the time. No where to be seen and unable to be flagged down. Someone else had to pack up food as it had been sitting for a long time. Never go back.

Had dinner reservations, was seated immediately and then forgotten?? From time of seating to food was an hour, we had finished our wine and the waiter took our bread away and we sat another 20 mins waiting for dinner. We watched other tables get served before us that came in after us. Not impressed with the service and was about to leave when the meal finally came....pizza was good but not good enough for an hour wait. Gnocchi was homemade which was the only savior and why they are getting my star rating but the gnocchi and ribs lacked flavor, such a shame. This was a central location for myself and dinner partner but even if we lived local we likely wouldn't return.

We just had the WORST experience ever!! We had made a reservation and then was told to wait at the bar while they held a table for someone else who was late and had not arrived yet. When I asked the host how long the wait will be because we might not stay, he said 20 minutes!! For people who have made a reservation! Oh my god. While there was a table empty for people who weren’t even here and late! When I expressed my surprise, he said, and I quote, “maybe you shouldn’t stay, this place is for people to chill and relax, and if you can’t wait for a table at the bar for 20 minutes..” Can you believe being spoken to like that?! It was so rude. I’m ethnic, and I wonder if that’s the reason. Everyone around me was the racial majority and being treated VERY differently. This experience was so terrible!! We will be discouraging all our friends and family from eating here!

Sadly, not super impressed. This place was listed as #1 on trip advisor so we tried it. Think maybe our expectations were too high. The Caesar salad and mixed green salad was literally soggy. The waitress was very friendly but unkempt (messy hair, not super neat appearance) which threw me as I thought was higher end place. The live jazz music was so nice but the guy would ask for money in between sets from the stage ("donations") which I thought was super tacky. The restaurant should be taking care of that, not the customer. The food otherwise was fine but to be honest, I wouldn't return. Didn't live up to the reviews. But not a horrible place, just "fine" for a place in a strip plaza I guess.

This past August I got married at Manhattans Pizza Bistro & Music Club, and I know I might be biased but it was one of the best weddings I’ve ever been to. I still have guests who talk about it, so I guess it’s not just me. And all of that is because of this beautiful venue and amazing staff. If you’re planning an intimate wedding (we had about 60 guests) or if you’re just looking for a great restaurant in Guelph, I would highly recommend you book for the following reasons: 1. The Food: As a long time patron, I knew that my guests would love the food (something that is very important at an Italian wedding!). We opted to do seated service. Guests were served dinner rolls and their mixed green salad. We took orders ahead of time and our guests could choose from any of their fabulous main dishes, most popular choices being the beef tenderloin and chicken Marsala. Desert was their chocolate pecan torte. ALL of my wedding guests gushed about how much they enjoyed their meal. The midnight buffet included several gourmet pizzas and an elegant charcuterie board of premium meats and cheeses. 2. The Atmosphere: Another one of the main reasons we wanted to get married here, the restaurant creates a classy and cozy atmosphere with its decor and live music. A piano and drum duo played procession music for the ceremony and then serenaded us while we ate. When planning, all I needed to do was put some flowers and candles on the tables and the restaurant’s backdrop provided such a beautiful setting that no banquet hall could come close to. Thomas, the owner, also put out some gorgeous floral arrangements himself! 3. The Staff: Thomas and Claire made the planning process a breeze. They were happy to meet and answer any questions we had via email along the way and even suggested the song I walked down the isle to! Also the service staff was amazing and not only served the guests their meals but served drinks to the tables as well, saving my guests trips to the bar. They were so professional and attentive! At one point I turned to my husband and said “it’s hot in here” and one of the staff who was walking by happened to hear me and said “would you like me to make it cooler?” and then turned the air conditioning up. Thomas allowed us to come in the night before and decorate after the last guests of the night left. He suggested the band and I’m so glad I trusted his expertise in that area and he saved us several hundred dollars for a DJ by suggesting that we simply bring an iPad. I download a wedding DJ app for a few bucks which blended one song into the next so that there were no pauses in-between the songs and no one had to man the iPod. The dance floor was full all night! 4. The Cost: While this venue was at the higher end of our wedding budget, I think it was worth every penny. The impeccable service, amazing food and wonderful entertainment made for an unforgettable night. Our costs were a little higher because we had an open bar and didn’t want to close the bar during dinner. When we approached our proposed budget for the bar at around 11:30, Thomas let us know, but we didn’t want to stop or slow down the party at all so told them to keep pouring! We don’t regret a thing. Overall, if you’re planning an event or just a dinner out you will NOT be disappointed here. I am looking forward to celebrating many anniversaries here for years to come.
