Lots of live music Friday-Saturday. General trivia on Tuesdays, music trivia on Wednesdays. Great and lively karaoke on Thursday nights. Stand up comedy on Sundays. This bar is different from venues like trappers alley and is more personable. Jimmy Jazz is a place where you can meet many others with similar interests, and you'll almost always see a familiar face. Drinks are also a lot cheaper here than most other bars downtown which is a plus!!

Fantastic Karaoke Nights on Thursdays. Although I'd avoid the Comedy Nights on Sundays tho. They promote a lot of racist comedians, which makes me think the owners are supportive of this content??? Despite the diversity of Guelph, there's no sense of inclusion towards Black, Indigenous, or People Of Color (BIPOC) here. On the other hand, hillbillies, rednecks, and less intelligently inclined are apparently welcomed with open arms...

I've never found anything special here. From the best of my knowledge there is no food, it is quite dark and there seems to be a lot of interesting characters. Music is loud, which could be good as long as it's what you're into. Service can be slow at times, definitely not very friendly and bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. Just not my cup of tea.

Dinner at Royal Electric was interesting. Our nachos were topped with American spray cheese, the table was wobbly and the waitress kept filling our glasses only halfway every time. My group was stuck in a debate of whether they are hipsters or incompetent, and we couldn’t figure it out.

Awesome little dive bar. Visited off season with a group and it isn't large, so we pretty much took it over! Average selection of beers. Pool table and 2 dart boards we took advantage of which made for a fun night.

Fantastic food. Killer comedy show Drive in from Toronto to do a comedy show, almost ate Mexican across the street but as a vegetarian and performer on the show I decided to give the falafel sliders a chance. Only $3.50! So I got two and added a $5 quinoa, arugula, apple slice salad. I thought this place was way to classy for the tater tots but for only $3 I threw them into the meal and was pleasantly surprised at how well they paired with the goat cheese dressing on salad. Thoroughly impressed.

Played to a packed house for an original metal show as an out of town band here... basically unheard of. I didn't eat or drink anything here but I can say that if you're looking for a night of original music in an atmosphere where people appreciate that kind of thing, this is the place to go in Guelph.

Cash only, good vibe, very local feel. Went for karaoke and there were quite a few talented singers. Beer selection is heavily craft oriented, at about market price. Food was well priced and of good but not great quality. All in all a reasonable place to spend an evening.
