I quite enjoyed the one time we went to Brothers Brewing. The setting in the beautifully restored Petrie building adds a certain bit of hipster punch. Speaking of punch, the unique beers stood out for their, well, uniqueness. They weren't the best I've ever tasted, neither were they the worst. But I'm glad I tried them. One outstanding positive point is the service: they made an exception to a usual rule for us. One outstanding negative point is the noise: the poorly designed acoustics of the space and a large crowd made for difficult conversation.

The beers are top tier. Fresh, interesting flavours, variety. We had the salty sour beer, unbelievable flavor and well balanced. The aesthetic and old traditional building add to the appeal. Their patio is perfect for the summer even with social distancing. The one brother was taking care of us, super friendly and helpful in choosing beers. He's a G. This place is a MUST for all craft beer enthusiasts.

We enjoyed a few drinks on thier street patio with our pup! Love that the brewery has pop up food vendors (we went for a vegan night) and that they are dog friendly! They even have a treat for dogs on thier menu! Highly recommend

"Beer over everything", this place has a good collection to choose from. Lamplighter and delusions are a must try if available. Good ambience and at a cozy spot in the heart of Guelph. Having a bring your own food option was comfortable as well.

Great place for having drinks and they were all local. They also had food that was extremely tasty. I had a caesar salad and the chicken was SO DELICIOUS! The service was really good too. There was this asian girl who was super good and friendly. We were in the patio and had a great time! Definitely a must go if you're in Guelph looking for a good time and drinks!!

Wife and her two friends were ridiculed by your staff last night and treated poorly. Certainly not a place if you're looking for a friendly atmosphere. Thanks for replying and owning up. I'll gladly share the entire experience now. They waited and waited for a drink and acknowledged your bartenders who did not acknowledge them. They finally did after 20+ minutes when they told them they didn't know how to line up for a drink and attended to a much younger crowd and said there's only one way to get a drink here. Pretty pathetic.

I truly want this place to be good, honestly Guelph needs a good brewhouse downtown it would be such a perfect fit. Unfortunately this place is not it. Overpriced beer with no quality to justify the price. There are far too many good local breweries around that beat the beer quality hands down. Not to mention that this is the perfect place to put the best menu in downtown Guelph but instead you are prompted to order in from the local downtown fast-food restaurants and eat in the bar. This is good for cross advertising I suppose? Though in terms of a restaurant experience it quickly dashes any hope of that. The feature beers are the same they featured shortly after opening, with no signs of willingness to change or adapt it doesn't lend much hope for the future. Although maybe their future is bright nonetheless. Being the only brewery right downtown it will dominate a certain market and continue to provide a service that no other bar in Guelph currently can. Unless you count beer being brewed just a few blocks away.

My gal and I enjoyed beers here during a late summer Sunday afternoon. We believe that this building is haunted by a friendly ghost who enjoys opening the cash register. Also, the jugs above the bar are antiques that we're found in the wall during renovation. Try the prosciutto flatbread. The Brothers themselves sat near us.

I was looking forwards to a great place for beer and good food. The beer is really good here, but it stops there. Food selection was disappointing and the service was even worse unfortunately. After waiting over 10 minutes we approached the bar to ask for service and how everything works here. The waiter came 5 minutes later and never came back after bringing us the first round. It was basically self serve. The staff was not very informative on their beer selection either which is a must for a brewery with unique beers.

The beer is always good and it has a great atmosphere. The chalkboard with names of people who have a free beer when they come in is kind of fun. I was a little disappointed to hear that they didn’t do flights after 8:30, but as the server explained, it gets a bit too hectic for that. Although the service there is usually friendly, last night, my server seemed impatient, like I was a bother. Maybe it was a little too busy for pleasantries, but maybe servers get an attitude like they’re doing the patron a favour when they providing them with a drink when it’s busy. I remind you that a Friday night might be busy, but you’re not doing me a favour. I’m supporting your enterprise. Even a 15% tip on the $25 I spent last night is like $3.75 You don’t get a tip for pouring beer into a pint. So enjoy your $4, but maybe next time try to earn it.

The selection of beer is amazing. Better than what I initially imagined from a local brewery their size. I have visited many local breweries between Alberta, Newfoundland and provinces in between. This is definitely one of my favourites. They feature beers from other breweries and often have collaborations with other breweries. One of the best perks here is you can buy a beer for a family member or friend today and the person you bought for can go anyday and redeem it.

The atmosphere is good, and the location is great. The beer selection is good and they seem to be experimenting with more and more styles, which is a good sign. Haven't had anything that is truly a homerun here yet, but they continue to hone their craft which is a good sign for the future. Sometimes the service is sorely lacking, on multiple occasions I have left the bar after not being served or even spoken to after 10 minutes, even on not extremely busy days.

I like the beer, unfortunately that doesn't help me forget about the poorly-trained staff that doesn't seem to want to be there. We've been three times and have been helped by two different servers. Neither of whom were very helpful, and one just seemed like our presence was an inconvenience to her. I'll point out that the place was not at all busy at any point during our visits (one of which we just bought a couple trays of beer and left). Really unfortunate because I do like this place, but the service is pretty consistently terrible.

My partner and I showed up to have a nice patio beer, there were two tables open. I asked the server if we could take a table, she briskly said yes it needs to be sanitized first. I said that's fine, then noticed the second more desirable table and asked about that one instead. She visibly was annoyed and said it needs to be wiped too in a rude way, then walked away. When she came back out I asked again if we could have the other table instead as she progressed with cleaning the one we originally saw.. She rolled her eyes at me, and expressed wthat it still needed to be sanitized, and I needed to give her a minute with some serious attitude. Firstly, it was entirely uncalled for. I was asking a simple question and wasn't getting a clear response. Then her actions of cleaning the first table made me think she didn't realize we didn't want that one anymore, which spurred my repetition of the question. The experience was very off-putting.. I work in the service industry, and rule 1 is you save your frustrations for the back room or better yet you leave the tude at home.. her attitude was the quickest souring of a fun experience I've seen, it was completely unprofessional. I get that people have bad days, but her attitude drove away two paying customers instantly before we even got to sit down. Two people who went to the bar across the street instead. 2 stars because I've really enjoyed myself at this establishment in the past but won't be again.

This place makes being back in Guelph bearable. The ambiance, vibe, service and beer quality is unbeatable and this is the type of establishment we are so desperately in need of in town. An updated review finds the service lacking, however. Table service used to be prompt. I'll often sit with an empty beer for a prolonged period of time, now, looking at staff playing on their phones behind the bar. It may be best to do away entirely with the table service model if you always have to approach the bar for service

I'm a beer-lover but the cider/less beer-y drinks are what keep me coming back with my non-beer-loving partner. My two favourite staff are Liam and Claudia (the latter who served our party with a smile despite it raining on the patio). When my parents visited from out of town, we picked up some Ease Me In cans that were the biggest cans of beer we had ever seen it was AWESOME! And the product was also fantastic :) Received a case of beer delivered as a graduation gift and Brothers wrote a personal message on my delivery from the sender. And the vegan pop-ups are also great. Keep up the great work guys!!!

I went into this with a glass half empty style of thought but i sat down and easily enjoyed my self, the beer is great and the staff are super knowledgeable and friendly one even gave me a free taster. the snack selection is awesome the music is just what i want and all they do is play Bob Ross videos. Overall i cant wait to go back

A really excellent addition to the Guelph downtown. Flights are an entirely reasonable $8 and there a good selection of brews from Brothers Brewing and other local breweries. The Ease Me In session ale was the highlight of the beers we tried, followed closely by the Tropic Thunder American Pale Ale. The Lemon Ginger weisse, in sad contrast, seemed far more like a so-so pilsner: it was almost bubbly to the taste, and the lemon was too strong on the palette. In terms of ambiance, this place rocks. Good music, well decorated space, and friendly servers really makes this place shine. All of the neat little additions — from the funny wifi password, clever mirror games at the bar with their taps, and intent to get people to create their own coaster designs — makes this place a real winner. I look forward to when I’m here next!

Brothers Brewing is one of my go to places in Guelph. I live the venue, the atmosphere, the people, the staff, overall this is a great place to have a few beers. Speaking of beers, what a great selection. Fro. Their own beers to craft brews around the area, the selection is fabulous and always changing. Thus is a great go for a few beers, a night out, a gathering a quick drink. Go, enjoy yourself.

This one of the best and famous micro brewing places in town. Place is normally crazy busy. Service is really good. You can bring food from outside too. Have live music on Fridays and weekends. Parking is limited. Recommend this place with five stars and will definitely return.

Stopped by for a quick bite to eat. The mac and cheese was rich and delicious and with the pork belly added some smokiness to break up the cheesiness. But the real star of the show was the Nachos one of the best Nachos I've had in a while and could have ordered 2. It's not the most over the top and complicated nachos but sometimes simple is better. The sweet pickled onions were the perfect companion to the cheese, crema, and pesto topping. I am knocking off one star as the service was a bit slow and surprised that the kitchen had no lemons for water which is a bit strange for a food place. Also the menu did mention that the mac and cheese had a panko and Parm crust but was surprised that it didn't have any. The additional texture would have really made the mac and cheese stand out even more.

Cool brewery/brew pub right in downtown Guelph. Erin served us and she was wonderful, checked on us regularly and knew her stuff. The beers were good, the craft beer game is so diverse these days it’s hard to find something that stands out above the rest lately, but what Brothers offered none the less was tasty. A variety of seltzer’s also on tap for non-beer drinkers! Prices are fair for both food and drink, everyone has to make a living these days, especially after reopening a local business. Would love to visit again.

LOVELY! Honestly such a great little joint in the heart of down town Guelph. We were not disappointed. We reserved a table online & had no issue getting seated & changing to a table closer to a heat lamp. It was a windy day! We loved the brews we tried & my daughter was happy to be able to have a kombucha & of course pineapple popsicle. We brought some brews home & enjoyed all of them. Still hanging onto the stout as it’s too good to drink at once! During these COVID-19 days, it has changed our brewery experience, but this establishment is worth the sit down.

I love coming to Brother's. It has an exceptionally laid back environment but still serves excellent beers for all palettes. I am not much of a beer drinker but I find myself drawn back time and time again to try different brews and flavours. They also have a great policy allowing outside food as they only serve drinks. Kombucha is also offered on tap!

We showed up and ordered beers, all of them were sold out. Ordered some others and they were 8 bucks each. Waitress comes over and whips our menu away. We ask our waitress why and she tells us the food is sold out, all of it. Waste of time and money.

Giving three stars because hopefully they'll improve as they move forward but the complete dropped the ball on food offerings. It should also be a more "all hands on deck when busy". Looked as if staff/management were sitting near the back when it was taking guests 15-20 min to be served. They also asked for my credit card upfront before even ordering to ensure there was no dine and dash. That's never happened to me and don't think they need to start implementing a policy like that. Good staff should ensure proper service.

Waited to purchase take out bottles where it says to line up, group pushed passed and they served them anyways, then told me bottle service was done at 11(it was 1105) I had waited more than 5 mins for the customers that pushed passed.

$6.00 volcano beers.... if you want to grab beer to go, don't come here. They don't adjust their prices if you're taking their beers to go, and one of the eis-p-a beers we bought erupted all over me once opened. Pretty average craft beer, and only 3 to choose from.

Took my romance partner out for the first date night in a while: greeted by a super friendly server who explained clearly the wait times for a patio table we longer and they were working short staffed and welcomed us to wait inside: we accepted! A great selection of choice beers on tap with some tasty eats to pair them with. Even short staffed, we had great and friendly service: the team here was warm, funny, and genuinely welcoming. 10/10 would drink beers here again.

We take friends from out of town here and they have always had a good time, this is a great place if you're looking to impress someone. During the pre-pandemic times they also had a whole lot of fun activities. They also have a bottle shop for taking home beers. I recommend a visit!
