Stayed over the Christmas holiday weekend. I have 9 and 6 years old kids. They love swimming so I read a lot about the swimming pool before deciding to come here. It is indeed located at a weird place where a lot of foot traffic is. The outdoor pool is closed for the season. The indoor pool and hot tubs are open. The hot tubs are one next to the pool on the lobby floor and the other on the 1st floor terrace outside. The pool is not heated so prepare yourself for the cold water. My kids don't seem to mind it at all though. It would have been great if it was heated, at least for the winter. The hot tubs are nice, especially the one outside. But couldn't stay long. It's really cold outiside! You can feel your face freezing. But very interesting experience. For the kids there are inflated bouncy castles next to the spa on SS level. My kids liked them. The staff also put on a magic show for the kids. My kids loved seeing actual bunnies and guinea pigs etc. They took the turn taking pictures while having the bird sit on their head. Most of the staff here is nice and friendly, except for the bellman who seemed not like the idea of working on the Christmas day. The hotel sits on a hill. I wonder if my van could climb up to the hotel if there were heavy snow. You would definitely need snow tires and better yet a 4 wheel with snow tires. At night it was really beautiful with lights on for the night skiing. The town near the hotel is very small but has everything you need. Restaurants and two grocery stores (Metro and IGA).
