Love the redesign, great service at the main bar even when it's packed (pending the crowd is kind enough to not lean on bar), but there is a back bar to nab drinks from also. Should be noted there are a few flights of stairs to ascend to get in, but there is a service elevator attached, though I am unsure of their usage of it for patrons to get in.

Great spot. Fancy-looking, clean venue. A really nice safe place to go to be surrounded by accepting queer and LGBTQ+ people. A little intimidating if you are obviously strait, but you will still be treated in a friendly way as long as you dont make the space about you.

From the States and looking for a great drag show. The Look Out was recommended. Although it was advertised for 11:30pm, then an MC said it would start at 11:45 (while it was still before 11), it didn't start till 12:20. The queens delivered however. Was very impressed with the friendliness of staff. Very very tight space.

The staff and their service, location and somewhat modern design are what make this place 4 stars for me. Unfortunately like myself, if your not big on Drag Shows and / or Drag Race, non-stop Top 40 pop-dance remix-style of music (regardless of the time of day or night), Princess-y/Clicky/label-like personality types, ( Many Uni students and industry workers )the overall observation is generally more of a younger, fashion-image, consumeristic and somewhat superficial fun fun life's a party-type crowd, then you may want to explore other options first before making the trip. Especially if you are new to the city our visiting as a tourist as you may be somewhat disapointed considering that there is also frequently a cover charge walking in if your planning a nightly visit. My experiences have also been if they don't know you, you may very well never interact with anyone except the wonderful bartenders. Oh yes, and tread carefully if you dare to bravely venture on to the dance floor as well. The ladies generally appear and have freaquently demonstrated that they are territorial and protective of their personal space on tje floor as they are also to those of their friends and often will not hesitate to demonstrate their comcern or disaproval. My experiences over the years with the Bartenders have always been wonderful. Always friendly and engaging and will invest time to talk and laugh with you no matter how busy! Good people operate this establishment. There service levels are excellent.

Went to see a drag show and it was amazing. The bar got backed up near the end of the show, but the servers were so amazing about it. If you're going to one of the shows it might be a little confusing to how to get in but staff is super helpful to help you figure it out. Definitely will go again!

Hi! Some friends and I have been at this place this weekend by mistake and we totally regretted!!!! This is a very cheap and tiny place. Its infrastructure tottally poor, but the worst part is the custumer service! The Barman and the bar woman (which aldo are the manager and the owner) of the place are most rude persons we have ever met. We were and other costumers were treated very bad and we had to live the place. Don´t waste your money and please go to other place!

I went on Friday to see the drag show, the screening of Drag Race, and to have the 4 for $12 Fireball shots. Super fun time. Cozy atmosphere without being overly crowded. Average-priced cocktails, but they were really good.

We used to like coming here but our last 2 visits were awful. One of their servers (Jacob W.) was rude and aggressive with us on both occasions. They advertise that it's free to play Drag Bingo on Sundays but not only do you have to buy bingo cards to play, we were told that we have to leave if we don't buy a drink. There's nothing free about it. At their Saturday night drag show on the back patio, we paid for tickets and were stuffed behind the bar. There are only metal stools behind the bar with no leg room so it was super cramped and uncomfortable. People kept mistaking us for bartenders asking us for change and where the washrooms were. When we stood up to stretch during the break, he told us to sit down while other guests in the front row were dancing, grinding, and kissing the queens.

After having come to this establishment for years, all of a sudden, they don't accept ID's from Canada, demanding my crowd to get passports and lecturing us about how it's the law in the USA to walk around with them. Coming more than a few times a month to locations in and around Boston, most locations that want to enforce age or identity have readers that do read Canadian ID's. This guy lost a regular patron for incompetence, rudeness and serious BS. Very rarely do I leave a bad review but had to make a note about this. Won't be going back at all...

We recently moved from Vancouver to Ottawa. The scene here is much smaller but at first we found a place we really enjoyed called the lookout. This last time we went we were standing in line on stairs and we got to the top and the security let half our group in then disappeared into the club and told us that we will go in once she gets back. By that point we were at the top of the stairs and this other security guard (female) told us to back down onto the stairs. By this point the line had moved up and people were leaving and we couldnt step backward. It was not safe for us to do but the lady kept yelling at us and getting intimidating. We told her we can’t and I don’t feel safe. Then she kept saying I don’t care do it. Finally the other girl came back and the lady said we are not allowed in because we didn’t go back onto her stairs. Many people in the line found the security very rude, and trying to intimidate us. I have worked in the industry for 10 years was not intoxicated. I found the security there very unprofessional. If you can’t do your job as security without feeling like you need to be intimidatin for no reason then you shouldn’t be security. Whether they are female or not or it’s how they are told to act this is supposed to be a place of enjoyment and they ruined it for us for no reason. They took a place that we felt was fun and made it so we will never go back again. I get the job is stressful but pulling a power trip when it’s not needed is not a good way of running a business. I hope these security ladies either change there ways or get more training on how to be security because they did a terrible job at knowing when to act and when not to. The club is great the music is great. It makes me wonder if it was because we were gay men and it’s run by females if we were discriminated against. I am not impressed with how the security holds themselves as professionals in a supposedly fun environment.

One bartender was a total jerk. I ordered a drink (the first one I had ordered myself) and he refused to make it because he was pissed off other people I was with were not tipping well (I am confident the tips were fine).He had a totally empty bar, and went on to justify "one bad apple ruins the bunch" as he was drinking a beer. He was also telling me the prices of drinks were higher "for me". I definitely wouldn't go back or recommend this bar until this bad apple is gone.

Honestly The Lookout has improved so much and it honestly is one of the funnest places if not the funnest place you can go to in the National Capital Region. This is why i feel like this. As a regular i go there once a week usually on a Friday or Saturday for their nightclub nights. Pros: 1. The sound is very nice and feels like the sound system has been recently upgraded. 2. The new open space by the bar on the left side when facing the bar is honestly amazing. Good job on the owner. Nice place to sit and have a drink with a great sight overseeing the stage/ dance area. 3. Drinks are priced reasonably and having premium cold draft beer is a very big plus that alone in my opinion is very appealing. 4. Jeff the bartender and Sue do a very good job at the bar serving fast and efficient. 5. Washrooms are always clean and dont smell bad. 6. Security is polite and the door lady always is treating everyone in a kind manner. 7. The new lady DJ they had on Saturday October 13 was one of the best DJs i have ever heard. Please bring her back ASAP. DJ jumpinjim is awesome too please stick with this 1.2 punch! Cons: 1. The line up can get long during midnight but does move fast to get in. 2. Washrooms usually run out of soap and kleenex midway through the night. (Easy fix just have a staff member replenish thise supplies middway through the night). 3. The drag shows sometime take too long and kind of kill the vibe when you want to dance. In my opinion the shows should not be longer then 20 mins tops. 30 mins is a long time to wait to start dancing again. Something to consider. 4. Sometimes there are too many people simply leaning on the bar or clogging the area around it to buy a drink or move to the other side. (A simple sign or using a rope screen that banks use for line ups in that area could help in eliminating people who are not buying drinks there to move to another area) Overall: A very nice place keep up the great work and keep the amazing DJs you have! Lastly maybe introduce a VIP list or VIP card for your best and most loyal customers so they dont wait in line if they come every week and spend money there. Simply introducing a Guest List VIP card for faster entry would serve to make sure these people feel valued. Even considering a reduced yearly entrace fee paid annually that allows that person unlimited entry would boost profits and also make some of the loyal patrons happy.

Physically assaulted(one-way) by one of the drag queens Savannah Couture on Apr 20. Got bruises on my arms and scratches on my face and neck. The drag queens just get paid to perform, so apparently she is not their "employee" as they claim, still they need to be selective of who they put on the show.
