This place is good as an overnight stay. it serves as a functional stay. it's not somewhere I would book to hang out indoors, but we were passing through and needed to sleep for the night. Room smelt like smoke and that was irritating. Otherwise for the price we paid, I'm okay with it.

My review vanished. My stay was terrible. In a time where cleanliness is paramount to the ongoing health of society, this hotel has chosen to ignore guest safety. I was first assigned room 208. It had a dirty band aid in bathtub and urine in toilet. I complained and got assigned to room 108. This room had an unmade bed and the tv was on. I think there was someone in it. I complained again. Was assigned room 302. Looked good so I took it, only to find mold on shower curtain. Clearly the hotel chose to ignore COVID-19 cleaning protocols. I attempted to have issue resolved with hotels.com and Howard Johnson corporate. I was unable to have this resolved as the hotel in Gananoque lied and said I never complained. Strange , how I was assigned 3 rooms without complaining?? I have contacted the local health unit and filed a COVID-19 protocols complaint as no one in this organization would take responsibility. This is a terrible hotel. Lying about your customers is low.

Comfortable for a motel. Clean.good beds looks like it's recently renovated. Breakfast wasn't great , but probably normal for this type of accommodation. Had microwave coffee fridge tv which was great. Nice reception staff Would stay again for sure

Rooms were great. Comfy beds, love all the pillows! Would highly recommend anyone passing through Gananoque whether it be for work or vacation to stay at this Howard Johnson location!
