This is a great place. You are no further than 40 feet from the comics. They have all types of famous people come through there and the prices are decent price usually from 25to 60$ depending on meet and greet . They have a two drink minimum. Our drinks came out fairly quick and they refiled them quick. The food was out in like 5 minutes. One of my new favorite place.

Been there for amateur night Tuesdays a few times which is real cool. Free jokes if you buy food or drinks which is expensive and very mediocre, and the servers are real Scarce for such a small crowd.. As for the pro comedian nights I can't comment because it's always been too expensive for the comedians on the roster.

Good looking venue with good talent coming in, but beware the 2 item minimum. You're forced to buy 2 drinks or food items if you buy tickets to a show. And servers WILL harass you about this policy if you do not comply and threaten to add items to your bill even if you dont order it. We even got the 2 person package where the minimum shouldn't count. Still was harassed about it anyways.

I had a blast at my recent show (mark norman) i must say the bill becomes a little ridiculous when you factor ticket price, 2 drink minimum, and INCLUDED GRATUITY. The people i was with ended up topping twice because of that. Order everything on your 1st go. The next time you see your server they will hand you a check. All in all i will return , but im only spending the minimum from here on out. I cant be expected to keep float the tab of people who refuse to tip or employer who doesnt pay the staff adequately.

I really like it here. The reason I'm giving it four stars is because the have this two drink minimum for the room. Last time I was there I spent over $100 on the tickets and eating at the restaurant. I really thought it was unnecessary to make me pay more. I do understand that the servers need to make tips, but every other time I've gone I've bought at least drinks and food in the room. Overall, great place.

I've been here several times and it's always a fun time seeing some comedy. In the past some of the warm up acts hired by the venue have been pretty so-so and one memorable local guy was real bad. But that's comedy. The atmosphere is nice and some people have complained about the cramped quarters of the table. I don't find that to be a problem. It's a comedy club, it needs to be set up that way so that everyone can see. Food is okay, standard few appetizers and a few sandwiches/burgers but the markup seems high. I think it might be the beer? We ended up spending $30 on some dip and a soda and beer? The wait staff often seems overburdened, so my waiter didn't have time to ask if I wanted a refill.

It would be nice if you could have the tickets on your phone as the bar area before entering the main room is overly crowded and it's extremely difficult to pick up your tickets if you're attending a busy show. Also the waitress forgot my drink and took a while to come back for me to remind her.

Ok place for comedy but the drinks way over priced. Food not that good at all and small servings. Tables are tiny barely enough room for drinks let alone put food on it. Service is awful takes forever to get an order wether it's a drink or food. Also tables are so close to the next u can barely move without bumbing the person next to you.

The parking and the comedian were great, but the club was a bad experience and I will never go there again. General seating is based on the time tickets are picked up, but you'll have to stand 30 minutes before the doors are even opened, starting off with reserved seating, so if you have a handicap that is the reason you need to call ahead to be seated before others. Food was not good and my non-alcoholic drink had 3/4 worth of ice. The air conditioner was up so high, people came there with leather coats on in the summer. The seating is very tight (4 seats at a 2 seat sized table). The servers were all over the place, our server walked away before we could even finish ordering, we had to ask for our bill, and he took forever to bring our cards back. Cant forget about the server who spilled drinks on a customer. If you order your ticket online and it says No Phone Restrictions-know that you still can not take pictures. Bring cash if needed because there is no ATM onsite.

Just saw the Sklar Brothers there last night and had a great time. Although it seems like any seat in the house is a good one, it was worth a few extra dollars to get the reserved seats to be up close to the performers. The wait staff was attentive without being disruptive. It's also nice to be able to meet the performers after the show. I'm glad that Buffalo has a venue where nationally known comedians can come to perform.

This was our first time at Helium...We got the date night package...Which included two entree's...An appetizer and dessert plus your two tickets and then you didn't have to worry about the two drink minimum. Dinner was excellent...Our wait staff was great and our comedian (Josh Wolf) was hilarious! Oh I also won free tickets to another show from a contest they had! We will definitely be back!!

The bar tenders were excellent, the place was clean, and the comedians were great. Overall was not a very welcoming environment, I’ve been here a couple times before and already had an issue with the fact that they want you to come, before the show to pick up your tickets that you have already purchased online. That kind of defeats the purpose of an online purchase. Then I watched how they had very little to no patience with new customers!!! Then several people had problems with there orders or was charged for something they did not order. Also this is a social event and I understand that there is no heckling or loud talking to not disturb the performance, but there is a difference between talking and distracting the performance. “They seem to want you to be silent “ i don’t like when someone is as loud or louder than the performers this was not the case but I watched as they moved people because they were talking.. I guess making decisions on what to eat or drink!! Or verbalizing what the comic just said is out of the question. We are not at the movies!! If you are serving liquor it is kind of hand in hand that people get louder. But, maybe if people were not sitting on top of each other it would be less of a problem. I am guessing that trying to keep down overhead is the rationale to not having the box office open after 20 minutes of the start of the show. So don’t be late or your going to have a super problem. There is a difference between being organized and being difficult. There is a lot of ways that this could all be remedied but any ways. Let’s not forget the automatic 18% gratuity that is put on your bill!!! Not that I have a problem giving a good waiter/waitress 18%, but that should be a choice if I have bad service you should get a bad tip.. And when I saw that one manager was super multitasking trying to co-ordinate everything. I attempted to say ‘thank you’ and show a little empathy for the situation, when I came towards her to say something she backed up like I was the covid keeper himself and automatically pointed to the exit door as to say I was going the wrong way, when I then said I just wanted to say thank you for attempting to be patient, there was little to no acknowledgement, It seems they are accustomed to have the usuals and not ready for a full and or new crowd. ‘Disappointed’ I am guessing with this being one of the only exclusive comedy clubs in Buffalo they can do what they want. The 3 stars are for cleanliness, price, comedians and location.. #disappointed

Been here a HAND full of times. I went to see John Witherspoon a few years ago and he was amazing!!! Any other time was to go see my brother do his thing with comedy... The food and beer is cool, not too pricey. I always find myself looking at their emails whenever someone is coming to town. There is usually a minimum when purchasing tickets as far as two items or an item and a drink so be advised if you plan to just come out for a show. The seating is nice and broad so everyone isn't cramped on top of each other like some places. You WILL NOT be disappointed with planning a night out here.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary and had a blast. We were fortunate enough to go on a night they had a highly rated comedian as the main act (as per google and a another site my husband used). The opening act was also very funny in my opinion. We did not realize there was a two purchase minimum per person in the comedy room. We had dinner just before the show at the restaurant inside the comedy club. Had we known, we would have waited and ordered in the comedy room instead, so we didn’t have to purchase more, when we were already full and had reached our alcohol limit for driving home. So either they need to make you aware before, when you make your reservations or give you credit if you eat at the restaurant ( it’s the same servers anyway). But all in all it was a great anniversary! We had a blast there and I would definitely do it again!

I was shocked to find that a comedy club in Buffalo wasn't a dirty rat-hole. Comedy clubs I've been to were usually like failed bars and restaurants. This place was ritzy. ( <-I'm old ) I went to a show just to try the place before bringing family or friends, and the show they were doing I normally wouldn't have gone to, but I had a lot of laughs, and a artfully prepared meal fit for a 5-star hotel restaurant. This place is a too well kept secret. I think the money they charged for the services delivered was very appropriate. I'll be back again and again.

The inside is pretty nice more than what I expected being the fact that's it's in Buffalo.. The food was PERFECT, steak egg rolls we're like a steak sub but inside of an egg roll ????????????.. I tried the Mediterranean Platter (trying something new) which was nasty to me but great if you like that type of food, it was presented nicely! I went to see Corey Holcomb which is one of my favorite comedians and the show was great.. I will definitely be going back to this comedy club..

I went to open mic night to expecting to see my cousin do a 10 minute stand up act, arrived to find out that he had been moved the standby list and he was never called to the stage. If that is how they plan to fill the house that night, I am sadly disappointed and so was my cousin especially.

Show started, nobody looked at us to find out about tickets, 5 people on their phones for almost 3 minutes so we walked in and than someone told us that tickets were done. No apology about just standing there with people on their phones. After paying $10 fir parking, I never have given a one star but no customer service rates this today!

Love seeing shows here, more intimate than a huge space. Food and drink prices are outrageous. 18% administrative fee plus you have to buy 2 items per person...ridiculous, it's the downfall of this place. Your affordable night out just turned into an $80-100 night.

Went to see Arnez J at the Helium Comedy Club after spending over $100 for tickets and food, they wanted to call police if we didn't pay for an additional 2 drink (a piece) Minimum, made us miss the end of the show & threatened to put my name on a list so I can't come there again... Seriously!?! Bottomline...if you go, DO NOT go to their restaurant first, we were told that the two drinks and dinner didn't count. The email I received offering dinner reservations was from the Comedy Club but then once you're done with dinner and drinks and you go to sit downto watch the show, you are told about the additional two items per person. And now all of a sudden they are two separate entities(same kitchen, same bar)...well hell had we known that we could have just waited #1 and #2 the way the General Manager handled it.......... Like I said they wont get my business again!

Every seat is a good seat, and the wait staff was attentive while also mindful about not interrupting the show at the peak of a joke. I only wish the featured cocktails had a wider variety - they all looked very sugary, and the one I chose tasted like bubblegum. But overall a great experience and can't wait to go back!

Went to see Kyle Kinane and had a great time, parking was free which was a nice bonus. If you don't see it on the website they make the two item minimum rule very clear while you are waiting for the show to start. The prices aren't terrible if you really don't want to spend much you can get out of there spending like 10 bucks for a pop and order of fries or mozzarella sticks. There really isn't a bad seat in the house and if you are concerned about being a part of the show, buy general seating as the reserved is all up front. Will absolutely be back

Tables are much too close in a still Covid conscious time (they have 6 chairs for a table 2 feet wide!). They never even used the upper level! And wait staff walking back and forth is distracting. Management t needs to rethink- maybe a break for addl orders or settling checks right before the headliner? It WAS a good time, hassles aside.

I went here a few weeks ago to see Jason Mewes. I will start by saying that he, and his opening acts, were great. If not for them being entertaining as hell, this would have been a one-star review. When you first enter the venue, the will call box office was closed, and centered against one wall, so we had to line up through the middle of the area to wait for it to open to then get our tickets. Then, once people had tickets, we were told we had to all go start near the tables in the restaurant area because we had to clear the lobby so people exiting the early show could buy stuff and then get out without all of us being in their way. Then, at around 10:15 (our show was supposed to start at 10:00) they started telling people to get ready to enter. They said anyone with a VIP ticket come enter first. There was no lines and no one was queued in any kind of orderly fashion so we had to basically shove our way through the crowd to be let into the actual theatre portion of the building. Then, of course, when we finally get in, we have to deal with the two-item minimum. And this wouldn't be a big deal if the prices were reasonable but it cost $4.25 for a bottle of water and $6.50 for some fries. And they weren't loaded fries, or even seasoned fries - just standard shoestring fries you can get at any fast food restaurant for $1. After the show, those of us with VIP passes were told to stay in the theatre area and Jason Mewes would come out and say hi, sign things and take pictures. That was great but then afterward, when we exited back through the lobby they had already packed up the merch booth. So if I wanted to buy anything for any of my friends that couldn't attend, I had no option to do so. I couldn't do it before the show because I was stuck in line and then ushered to the far side of the room and then after the show it was gone. Overall, the show itself was good but everything else about the experience was miserable and I can't see myself going there ever again. I recommend just going to Comedy @ the Carlson in Rochester instead. Similarly cheap event tickets but no minimum purchases and a much better waiting area, bigger tables in the theatre, and just a more organized and welcoming atmosphere.

I am at the Helium Comedy Club. Sadly, it was not a pleasurable experience upon just being seating for the first time! I am incredibly disappointed in my first encounter with this establishment! I arrived early and got seated way in the corner next to the wall. I could not see anything! I asked management if they could simply make an accommodation and I was also willing to pay more for a reserved booth seat but the manager was unwilling to do anything about it and told us we had to stay where we were. How upsetting considering I spent my money to enjoy my first ever concert at Helium and I got treated in this manner. Customer service is absolutely not there first priority obviously. I will not be back and I would not waste your money going to a club such as this one! They are truly rude and not willing to make accommodation for their customers and also unappreciative of the money you spend. Thanks for a much Ruined Night for me and my boyfriend, we truly appreciate the rudeness and corner seat you gave us and told us to deal with it. I attend comedy shows often, usually for Edge Comedy Night, and my date & I always have a blast. Seats for the shows are very intimate. Parking is free! And you can meet with the comics afterwards for drinks!!! ???????????????????? 5 stars all the way! Best Comedy Club in Buffalo!!!

Just went to see Jim Norton with friends. It was a great experience. We found parking right in front of the club, the doorman was helpful and picking up tickets was as simple as giving my name at the counter and which they checked against a list. Dress casual. The servers during the show were friendly and efficient. It's an old style comedy club where the audience is up close to the act for a really reasonable price. A great night out. We're going back this weekend.

I want to stress that this review is not of the comedians, but of the comedy club itself. The comedians I saw were all great! The headliner was Colin Quinn. The location is fine and the drinks were fine, but the problem here is the service and the lack of explanation for the 2 item minimum policy. My group was demeaned and mistreated several times throughout the night. It wasn't one staff member, but several. This is such a basic problem that shouldn't even exist and this club would be much better with this fixed. The next issue is the 2 item minimum policy. I find the policy itself to be stupid, but they can have whatever policy they want and that's fine. It should just be explained so we can act accordingly. We saw signs for and were told that there was a "2 item minimum". I figured the waitress would say what two things would you like, you have to get two things or you'll be charged a fee. Instead they just asked what we wanted and when we got our bill we were charged to make up for each person not getting 2 items. Instead of paying to receive some food and drink, we had to pay a fee for nothing in return because the policy was not explained to us. An easy remedy is to remove the policy and increase the ticket price. Or just explain to guests that if they don't order 2 things there will be a fee. Guaranteed guests will order 2 things, end up paying more money than the fee to the club, and still be happy because they bought food and drinks instead of paying a fee to get nothing. This is called a win-win; take notes Helium.

It's off of South Park,heading downtown. When you get there you will notice it's smaller than you would expect. When you go for a show there is a 2 item per person minimum, the prices are higher as expected. The club itself is nice, tables are tiny, but no terrible. The only issue I had was there was a funky smell at the entrance, seems to be entrenched???

Great show and extremely affordable. Less than $15 for both me and my fiances tickets together! It was difficult to get served at first bc we came right at the time the show was supposed to start. But once I got a server, it was fine. I ordered the greek salad and it was huge! But very delicious. We had our waters refilled a couple times, which also was nice. The performers were great. I definitely plan on coming back!

We came as VIP with a group of 4. We were told it was a 2 drink minimum. We each got 1 drink at 6:45 show started at 7. Our server Sam M did NOT return at all until 7:44 to give us our check? The show ended at 8:30… we were there for almost 2 hours and only served 1 drink? We were prepared to have drank and spend alot of money and we didn’t even get a second round!! I couldn’t focus on the show because we were trying to get her attention without distrusting the show. I was very disappointed as our guests with us from out of town and ourselves didn’t receive the experience we were expecting.

Absolutely the rudest and most condescending customer service experience I've ever had, ticket protection process not clear enough it's mentioned once the entire checkout process and never again. Just a giant money grab will never be going here again and suggesting others don't as well. Edit: I just checked the policy is nowhere in any email receipt whatsoever the only two locations it is in is the main ticket page listed once in an asterisk and then again on the FAQ, helium stop making false claims. If you want to give the customer adequate notice send them an automated email separate from the receipt specifically labeled ticket protection. If I buy a warranty or protection plan on something the details for that come completely separate, don't just asterisk people out of their money. And finally please trust when I say the way I was treated on the phone by your employee was orders of magnitude worse than the $80 I lost so to see you not even acknowledge that in your response is equally insulting. Train your employees in customer service and basic human decency better.

Long initial waits and a tiny cramped dining area with little to no separation from the box office and bar. But once you get into the venue proper it is great! Good sounds, an intimate experience with the comedian and good food and drinks, if not a bit lengthy on the wait time to get it. Serving staff is friendly and come for orders regularly when you are seated. The earlier you get seated the better, but still a great time! 9/10, would go again!

The comedy show itself was great, Jason Mewes was hilarious! While in the dining room the waitress accidentally charged us for a different table and stated that she immediately reversed the charge. Days later when I checked my account the incorrect amount was pulled. After contacting Helium Comedy Club they said they were already aware of it and that they were refunding us. Again, after checking my account, we were not refunded. It has been longer than a month and they have not given us our money back. Instead we payed for our dinner, our drinks in the show room, and someone else's bill (which they probably paid for too). So someone at Helium just pocketed an extra $140.

Visited here for the first time to see Steve-O live and really enjoyed ourselves. Not sure if it's always so busy, but they handled the crowd well. We were well-informed ahead of time when purchasing tickets online about the 2-item minimum order, so that wasn't a problem for us. The mozzarella sticks were honestly not as bad a deal as I suspected. The seating was comfortable and everyone, even in the back, was closer than I would have expected to the performer. Parking right across the way and we paid $10 but well worth it. If the occasion arises, we'll be back someday!

I have been to this club at least 70 times. Anyone complaining about the two item minimum can get bent. It's all over the club website and they tell you before entering the showroom. That's your fault for having the inability to read. Not to mention if you go to any comedy club in the country, it's always a two item minimum. The staff for the most part is fantastic. Harland Williams November 3rd 2017 10pm show I had a douche waiter. Only came to my table twice. Drink prices seem standard to any other clubs I've been to. I've been to 7 clubs and Helium has the best food. The clubs I've been to usually have a standard bar menu. Helium has a little bit of an upscale menu for a comedy club. The best comics to see are usually not the special event shows. Dave Coulier, Marlon Wayons, and Steve-O were all below average with Steve-O being the worst comic I've ever seen. Robert Kelly, Jay Oakerson, Dan Soder, Dov Davidoff, Joe List, Nick DiPaolo, and Rich Vos put on some of the best shows. If you don't have anxiety and don't mind the comics using you in crowd work. Pay the extra to sit up front it's worth it. Sign up for the VIP text updates for free shows. If I get the text for a free show I'll usually go. I first used this when the club first opened and I had heard of Dov Davidoff but didn't know his brand of comedy. That show is easily in my top 10. Helium is one of the top 3 club groups along with Funny Bone and Improv. I have yet to go to an Improv club. I'd rank Helium above Funny Bone. I hope they never leave Buffalo.

Terrible ticket office. The line goes out the door and snakes around inside. To complicate things even more, when the early shows let out, the patrons are trying to exit through the doors that the next patrons are trying to get in!! We arrived at 8 pm for a 10 pm show and had to wait until 9 pm to get our tickets. WHY THE WAIT? ??

A man who identified himself as the general manager argued with a friend when she asked about an up-charge on her bill. The location is great, right in the heart of downtown and I enjoyed the comedians that were there. As far as the food and drinks are concerned there's a 2 item minimum that each person has to order while in the club which is normal. I've been to other comedy clubs that require the same thing. The drinks were I'd say a little on the high side but nothing crazy , I guess normal for that area now. And the food was good but man the portions were small. I guess that's my only complaint. I ordered boneless wings and these steak and cheese egg rolls each about $11 each and I received 3 pizza log sized egg rolls which I thought was a little cheap but still they were good .. all in all it's fun I will go back

I had fun at the 7 pm show. I'm giving it 3 stars because they sat all four of us at a cocktail table the size of a dinner plate. There is a two item min. per person, and we mostly ordered food. The show with Arnez J was Fabulous&SUPER FUNNY!!!..and the Helium Club was Ok. The Tables are so small tho to share with 4 people when it comes to ordering food and drinks. Very cramped up space when it's a SOLD OUT Show..PLUS...I was SURPRISED that U HAVE to order a 2 item Minimum (per PERSON)..inside the Show..whether it be 2 drinks..or a Drink and a Appetizer/Meal,Etc.. So it makes no sense to Order and Eat food at the Restaurant outside the Show because those Meals..Appetizers & Drinks.. DON'T COUNT !! You'll hv to RE-ORDER (2) MORE ITEMS During the show..(per Person) which is TOTALLY RIDICULOUS!!!! So just a HEADS UP People!! Other than that..for my 1st vist there..overall..it was a Nice Experience. I would go again.

Went to see Jimmy Dore tonight. Thanks for having him. First time at Helium. Club is overcrowded and tables are too small. I find sitting 4 people around a table the size of a TV tray unacceptable. Took an hour and a half to flag down our waitress to order food. My girlfriend (and I were both getting hangry). I did appreciate the bouncer making those who were pushing and shoving wait to go into the showroom,while letting those of us waiting patiently in first. ???? Food was ok. (Had taco dip and mozz sticks) Nothing to write home about. Again, the table was too small to really comfortably eat the food. Barely room for food and drinks for 2, let alone 4. Makes me glad our food was brought much later than the 2 other gentlemen sitting at our table. I can't imagine trying to fit their food and ours on the table at the same time. Easily met (and passed) 2 item minimum in showroom (was aware of it when buying tickets). Like that it's 2 item, not 2 drink. Food and drink a bit steep in price, but I wouldn't say unreasonably so. $4 for a pop is a bit steep, but not outrageously so. This was an expensive date night (over $100 for me and my girlfriend), and a disappointing experience with subpar service in my opinion. And I believe that poor service was the fault of poor management/ownership selling more tickets than they have the space to comfortably accomodate, not the wait staff.

I was in for the Carly Acquilino show & would not return again due to the quality of service we received from our server. We were greeted by our server, had our drink order taken. We then did not receive our drinks for close to 40 minutes. When asked, she handled it unprofessionally. We were never checked on, or asked for a food order. Instead we were just slipped the bill with no customer service. Sucks this review has to be posted as the show was funny. I would not return specifically for the poor service. Two item minimum which is fine, but i would order more if we had a server who attended to her tables.

I ordered the fish tacos and was delivered three fish sticks in a shell. Someone dumped ketchup on the ground on accident and it sat there for about 20-30 minutes before being cleaned up. However, staff was helpful enough to remind customer to avoid stepping in said ketchup. Paid for the 100 dollar date night deal and listened to Fetty blasting throughout our dinner. Would recommend eating elsewhere.

Good luck if you end up going for a popular comedian. This club does not know how to plan appropriately. They put our seats directly in front of a group of 4 who were already crammed onto a small table in the corner. Which resulted in us not having a table and blocking the people behind us the entire show. To make matters worse, we were also against the side wall immediately to the left of the performer. You would think ‘oh cool, I’ll get a great view’ and that’s true. But if you want to actually understand what they’re saying... well you’ll be sorely disappointed. The acoustics are terrible in that area. How have they not tested that out? The people behind us complained about it too. I don’t understand. Don’t sell that many tickets to a show. Easy enough solution.

I will say that this evening was the first time my wife visited Elements / Helium. It is safe to say that we will NEVER return. The reason for this decision is based upon our total experience at the business. We chose to eat at Elements prior to the first show at 7:30. We were quickly sat at one of their high-rise tables and our server was, Erin. We ordered tow soft drinks, two sandwiches, and an appetizer. We waited over 5 minutes before our drinks arrived. Soon after, our appetizer was served. We were not even half way through the taco dip when our sandwiches were brought to the table. The sever quickly set the plates down, said it looked as if we were still working on the appetizer and left. Our server never checked on us to see if we were enjoying the appetizer. We didn't. The taste was a bit bland and the taco dip tasted as if it was made by a fast food chain. The sandwiches tasted a bit better once we started on them. As i was about half-way through my Philly Cheese Steak, I scoured my plate to find the pickle. It was buried under the mound of fries. Finding the pickle should have been a good thing but it wasn't. There was a bunch of Parmesan Cheese. None of the items we ordered had Parmesan Cheese as one of its ingredients. I stopped eating my food. I was not happy. When Erin finally came to see if my wife or I needed anything, she noticed my napkin sitting on a half-eaten plate of food and asked if I wanted a box. Instead I showed her the Parmesan Cheese and explained that I had lost my appetite when I realized there was something on my plate that should NOT have been there. She started to tell me it was probably just melted cheese from my sandwich. When I showed her it was actually fresh Parmesan Cheese, she said, "That's weird," and walked away. I figured she was going to bring a manager to speak to us. Instead she just dropped of the bill and disappeared. NOT ONCE DURING OUR MEAL DID ANYONE CHECK ON US TO SEE IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING, SUCH AS A POP REFILL! I decided to just let the issue drop and payed the bill and proceeded into the comedy show. Inside the show there is a two item cover for people attending. We were not obligated to purchase anything once inside. However, since we were going to be there for a bit of time, my wife and I ordered two soft drinks. When the server dropped off the check, I put down $10 to cover an $8 tab. The waitress took the money and never brought back change. I do realize it is only $2, but it is my decision to decide what I want to do with it. I do know that some people would just let it go and treat the change as their gratuity. If an establishment or workers in the hospitality industry wants to receive an individuals' gratuity, it should be earned not expected.

The worst! $20.00 to park. We had a party of 9. They gave us 2 tiny cocktail tables and were told not to push them together. The event was no where close to being sold out we were crammed together like sardines all on the lower level. I did ask if we could move up top so we could be spaced out and socially distanced. I was told no. Totally in need of a management overhaul. Terrible service because they didn’t know what they were doing. And the overpriced grub was brought out in take out containers. I went to a show a couple weeks ago. The comedian was funny but club is clearly poorly managed. The lobby area was a mess and way too crowded, people were shoving their way into the venue for the next show while people from the first show were still trying to get out. There was an 18% “service fee” added to our bill inexplicably with no forewarning. It stated on the receipt that this was not a tip but was unclear what it was for. During the show people in the crowd started yelling at the comedian and at one point literally started a Bills chant. The comedian had to completely stop his set and wait for people to quiet down. Club staff did nothing. It was truly embarrassing to be a part of. I would not recommend.

Overbooked the event and had to cram everybody in way too close together; we paid for a table and we couldn’t even sit at the table. If you want food or drinks, there’s a 2 item minimum per person. Whether you order food or not, you also have to pay an additional $3 (plus tax) per person for literally just being there. We even had to pay for the 2 people sitting at our table who we didn’t even know, so it was an extra $14 on top of what we already paid for the tickets. Terrible establishment, will never go back.

My husband and I saw Preacher Lawson! The show and once you got into the comedy club area was great. The show was awesome, the wait staff was nice , drinks were good! It was before the show that was an awful experience. There was so many people that noone could move, we were getting screamed at to move back but obviously there was no room to move back. We were packed like that for at least an hour if not more. If there was a fire or had to evacuate we would have been screwed. There has got to be a better set up or a better way. For that reason I probably will not go back.

I went to a comedy workshop. I enjoyed it and felt welcome. I didn't give 5 stars because it was very cold inside the building. I assume they don't turn the heat on until the customers arrive. I have attended to see a show. Just be aware you are required to purchase two items from the menu in addition to the price of your ticket. This can make for a very pricey evening, especially if the comic isn't good.

Went to the 730 show to see Brian Posehn. Very disappointed from the start. We had 7 tickets and they would not seat us until all 7 people arrived. We wanted to sit and order drinks and food before the show started. We had 1 person running late and therefore we were unable to sit until they arrived. We had a few minutes before the show to place our order. The waitress finally brought our food after the first comedian was finished. The waitress dropped off our food and drinks and never saw her again until she handed us our check half way through the headliners act. We were planning on ordering another drink. The 18% gratuity was added to our bill. I would not have given her more than 10%. A tip is based on good service and we did not receive good service. Brian Posehn did not seem up to par the first two comedians were much funnier. We felt very let down by Brian's performance.

This was my first time attending the Helium club. I bought my tickets in advance back in February to see Mick Foley. However, when we got there, they had signs up for a “minimum of 2 drinks per person” which we were a little confused by. So we got in there sat at a table and a waitress came by and asked us for our drink order, at first we said nothing.. but they she said you HAVE to order atleast 2 per person it’s the policy. (Which i think is dumb) it didn’t say it on our tickets that they charge a 2 drink per person so I had no idea what to expect. If I would’ve known that I would’ve came prepared and had extra spending money. My pay day is legit tomorrow and I only get paid 2 times a month so I’m dead broke by now. Anyways I wanted to walk out, but I paid over $75 to go to this show and I wasn’t going to let that out the window. So we ordered 2 drinks and the waitress never came back to get us an additional 2. So she gave us a check at the end and charged us for the 2 that we ordered, and a base charge for 2 we didn’t because of the policy. OBVIOUSLY I wasn’t happy because I had to pay for something I never received but I think this policy is ABSURB! First of all, when I go to a dinner I barely finish 1 drink and I never get refills... so why the hell would they think people want 2 drinks? And why charge them an additional fee? I’m just so mad and upset that we weren’t told this ahead of time. Definitely a rip off and wish I never went there. I’m absolutely furious and if they want to charge someone an extra $20 DOLLARS then they should do that for admission fees. NOT FOR SOMETHING SOMEONE DOESN’T WANT!!!!!!! Never again. By the way, this situation would be completely different if they would’ve told us ahead of time.. so you guys be the judge! And make sure if you go there you don’t drink anything before you go, cause your going to need to suck down 2 drinks to get your moneys worth!!!! ABSOLUTE BS!

Terrible experience and I will never be coming back here again. The crowd was atrocious, constantly interrupting the acts, yelling out rude and obnoxious comments to the point where Drew Lynch literally stopped half way through his bit to say “this is the absolute worst” and the staff did nothing. Just getting into the show an hour early was a super spreader event with over 50 people jammed in shoulder to shoulder picking up tickets, at the bar and waiting to enter the showroom. To the people that attended last night - thank you for ruining this experience and further proving why Buffalo is literally the worst.

Pending review While I am hard pressed to find comedy genres that both my husband and I can agree on, this place fit the bill. Hubby and I found Bret Ernest and his openers to be extremely comical! We were both equally impressed with our drinks and satisfied with the overall ambiance and seating arrangement. As others have previously stated, the appetizers are fine, they just lack any real pizzazz. A simple solution would be to invest in Williams Sonoma frozen food appetizers. It would not entail any additional work and would knock the socks off of your guests. The talent, the staff and the venue are otherwise top notch. Final note: Expect to pay about $50 with tip for 2 people at the current rates and 2 item/per person purchase minimum.

Great fun, lots of laughs, this is my favorite comedy venue in the area. We ordered a few drinks that were fantastic. This time we also shared a (huge!) slice of peanut butter pie, which was one of the best we've had! And plenty to share.

Not a fan at all. Seating is awful we were packed in was practically siting on the person behind me lap oh and the person to the right of me as well. I understand wanting to seat people close to the stage and work your way back. But this was not a sold out show by any means no reason to be that close to each other. I didn't even order any drinks cause if I had to go to the bathroom between comics I'd never get out!!! If you are claustrophobic or like some space don't go. You will be so uncomfortable. Parking was free which was nice but that's about it.

Everything was great except Elements "restaurant". Saw Craig Robinson a week ago. Greeted by a barstool with a liquid spilled on it. Shuffled over to our seats and found a menu with a gooey hunk of someone's dinner on it. Ordered arrancini (risotto) balls. What arrived were breaded rice balls deep fried to the point I thought they were coated in Grape Nuts cereal. Then came microwaved salmon with cold teriyaki sauce. Beef on weck that resembled lunch meat on a hamburger bun. Wife got a $9.50 cosmo. My PBR was delicious. Show was great, seating is very cozy but not exactly crowded. Very intimate setting. Bathrooms were a mess. I'll be back but not to dine.

I accidentally bought a ticket for the 10 pm show instead of the 7:30 show. I showed up at 6:30 and politely told them my situation and the woman at the role call counter was very rude and did nothing to help my situation. She talked to the “manager” but neither did anything to help. Overall poor experience with the staff and I was embarrassed for how they treat their costumer and how they work their business. I ended up going to the later show but I will never go to this venue again. The food portions were small and were over cooked while the drinks were over priced and weak. If you’re looking for a good night out I would recommend going anywhere else but here.

I really love going here for comedy shows, but the “two drink minimum” is a little outrageous. The tickets are already expensive (not to mention you can’t even save on fees even if you purchase at the door). The food absolutely sucks, and of course is expensive as well. It’s a nice place to go to for date night or night out with friends, and I love being an insider to get access to some free shows once and awhile.

We went last night, my first time at Helium. Saw Whitney Cummings; she was great, as usual. We ate there before the show, food was good. When we asked for a table, the man told us we would still have to get two drinks inside the club, which we knew prior bc we’ve been to comedy clubs before. I don’t understand the anger of some of these reviews. It’s a normal requirement of ANY comedy club. I’d definitely go back to Helium!

The show was amazing the venue was trash. My meal was $75 after drinks and before the 2 drink minimum inside the club which the previous meal doesn't apply to. My medium burger was burnt to a crisp and the bacon was so old and dry it was gross. The hostess and wait staff were rude and slow. Then they make you line up like cattle with no organization for 30 minutes . Thank God TG Miller saved the night. Helium is horrible.

I have been to Helium a couple of times now. The first experience wasn't bad, but also was not on a busy night. I was excited to see one of my favorite comedians last night and knew it would be busier than the show I had previously been to, but I did not expect this much of a difference. I am never one to complain or write bad reviews, especially without speaking to the business first, but this was the worst experience I've had at a comedy club. They jam packed way too many people into the venue to the point that my date and I were "sharing" a table with 4 other people that were previously sitting there. We were crammed in in front of them to the point that we were all annoyed that they couldn't see, when there was clearly a table right next to us that we could have sat at and remained empty all night. We were also against the east wall and honestly could not hear or understand more than half of the show because of the awful acoustics. I heard the people behind us say the same thing. We tried to tell the waiter that we could not hear nor had a table to put our TWO ITEM MINIMUM on and he just said "Sorry, no one has complained before". I understand he was busy but there was an empty table next to us, and it was obvious that 6 people to a tiny table was ridiculous. Needless to say, we left extremely disappointed and sadly wont be returning to this Venue for a show.

First, the pros: - It has a nice set up. Relatively clean, you can see the stage from pretty much everywhere, the seating is comfortable. - The food is passable. I wasn't expecting gourmet food from a comedy club, but what they had was tasty enough, and not too expensive. - Pleasant service. The servers were all jovial and well-mannered, and they came to check up on the table multiple times throughout the show. And now, the cons: - You couldn't print your tickets. You are forced to wait in a line and get the ticket from a teller, despite pre-ordering the tickets, and force no discernable purpose. - You can't order any food or drinks before getting into the show room. Despite there being a bar and restaurant outside, and the lone to get tickets curling around the majority of the room, you can't order from them. - You aren't allowed to get your check until AFTER the show is done. So, this also means you can't pay before the show is done. And, since everyone is getting their checks at once, it takes forever to get to you, and the server is preoccupied with three dozen other customers all attempting to get her attention at once. This is bad enough, but is compounded by... - You aren't allowed to leave until you have proof of payment. In concept I see the reasoning for this; you don't want people to skip out on their tab, since half the profits probably come from drinks. But, it's a nightmare the way they have it set up. Since you don't get your check until AFTER the show, you're trying to give the server your card or cash at the same time as everyone else. And then the server has to make change for you, or dash to the back to run your card, and god forbid you were in the bathroom or talking to another table when your check comes, because the server won't just leave it on the table. You'll have to wait for her to come back with other people's receipts and hope to flag her down. Plus, they had servers running about with tablets that could ruhm cards, but they would only run your receipt if you were in THEIR section. You better hope you're not in the back corner, or it'll take you at least half an hour to get back to your car. In short, don't go here unless someone you absolutely have to see is coming and only performing here. And, even then, see if they're performing anywhere close by around the same period, because it's probably a better use of your money.

The Joe Koy show was disappointing. He seemed high on something, unprepared and spent an inordinate amount of time sipping patrons drinks and eating from their plates. As for the club, the bar management needs improvement. Before the show, we waited for no less than 20 minutes for service. The food menu tastes just like any other bar food; highly processed, salt-infused and microwaved. I'd rather they just raise the ticket price than mandate that you order one menu item.

The show we saw last night was fantastic. The show itself gets five stars. However, the table service was terrible. A crowded room with only a handful of servers. It took 45 minutes to get our drink order taken and even then we had to desperately flag a server down. Instead of taking our order, he said he'd look into it. Our order was taken a few minutes later. Then we were kinda guilt-tripped about not abiding by the two drink minimum but by time we ordered and finished our first drink (after an hour of sitting there while the show went on), there wasn't time for a second drink. Problem seems ongoing with Helium and would be solved simply with more servers. We watched as people around us ordered round two of drinks and got their food. Need a better selection of beer too. Please do better with the table service. Again, the show itself was great.

It was wonderful to be out among happy people again. Although we purchased more costly tix for better seats, we were seated all the way to the side of the stage. Acoustics were terrible and we couldn't hear the comedian much of the time. Our draft beer was served warm but the server obliged us with a cup of ice to remedy that problem. Maybe, things will get better as covid-19 recedes in memory but I won't return for awhile.

We went here to see Preacher Lawson from America's Got Talent. We had never been here before and we were quite impressed! Very comfortable seating. We were in the very back and still had an excellent view and purchased our tickets for a very reasonable price on Groupon! Would definitely go back again.

Private businesses that provide goods or services to the public are called "public accommodations" under Title III of the ADA. Public accommodations must comply with basic nondiscrimination requirements that prohibit exclusion, segregation, and unequal treatment. This means that removing the barriers is easily accomplishable and able to be carried out without much difficulty or expense, given the public accommodation's resources. To comply with the ADA, a business must take alternative steps to ensure that disabled persons can still reap the benefits of the business or building if barrier removal is not readily achievable. If a business is not open to the public but is only a place of employment like a warehouse, manufacturing facility or office building, then there is no requirement to remove barriers. Such a facility is called a commercial facility. Really love Helium but if they try to make me show medical papers proving Disabilities or single me out for questioning over my Disabilities I have a right to call the police and file discrimination. You legally can not make a disabled person tell you their Disability or provide proof. Leave disabled people alone. B district has seen my medical papers proving Disabilities preventing mask wearing and face shields are legal in NYS for All people.

Listen, it is by far the best comedy club in western ny, no doubt. However, the people who are in the audience are drunk, rude and heckle the comedians almost after every spoken sentence. It really bummed me out because the tickets are too expensive to put up with that nonsense. No one did anything to stop it! I was really disappointed with the people who go there.

The place is a typical comedy club venue. The waitresses are what is questionable. They take you money and do not bring your change. Even if you planned to tip them they would want your change and a tip over $20. Your service was not that good and the drinks were watered down. If I ever go back I will pregame..

Woof. We went to the Drew Lynch show tonight. From the moment we walked in the door it was absolute chaos. There was no organization for picking up tickets. There were over 50 people jammed in from of the bar area shoulder to shoulder with a poorly placed table obstructing a bunch of space. When the show began with the MC, there was a very very drunk women who was talking and being obnoxious. She then proceeded to talk with the opener. When Drew came out she interrupted the show for about 10 minutes before he could continue. The staff did nothing. This set the tone for the rest of the night. She continued along with other guests feeling like they could carry on conversation and yell out and heckle with nothing done again. This women was on two separate phone calls and was not told to leave until he was just about to wrap the show up and then they allowed her back in! I am pretty sure Drew did not get through all his material. We spent over $160 and the show was ruined because the staff was careless. I feel bad for Drew and for his sake I hope he never comes back to Buffalo to do a show after that awful experience.

Excellent show. Excellent room. I can appreciate you want to turn tables between shows, but don't interrupt a guest's enjoyment of the show to collect a tab. WAIT! Answering the reply...thanks for getting back to me. I didn't mind the check drop, it was the continued attempts to collect. Working in a club for 5 years, I understand what could happen, but we weren't going anywhere. And we will be back.
