Poor service, was very slow, served my wife gluten after she was very specific many times that she was celiac. Then offered to comp 1 drink from the entire $200+ bill. Do not recommend whatsoever. Drinks were so so.

Went there last night for my birthday. Food was amazing but service was terrible. It started strong then our server would disappear. We wanted wine with our dinner and then chose to open a bottle of Pinot noir that I had received as a gift as we thought it would be faster. Just had to pay to corkage. At the end, my partner had Indicated the birthday when making the reservation and cheesecake would brought to the table. No acknowledgment. We chose our bills and left. Our server apologized and said she usually works lunches.

First time at this restaurant. It's tucked away by the water at the Gorge where years ago it was industrial but now it's condos and office buildings. Parking is terrible to find as there are only a few street spots and a small pay parking lot. The place itself was nice modern in a chic version of the Oak Bay Marina restaurant. Tables are spaced widely but we sat on the warm patio which was a little more crowded but covid passable. The issue on the patio was that that auto wreaking business is just across the Gorge waterway and you get a loud demonstration of cars being smashed and piled on. Still, the patio is a great view of the water and nice if the auto breaker is quiet. Food wise the restaurant served us meal salads which were healthy tasty and West Coast as I ate a blackened salmon salad where the portion size was surprisingly large vis-a-vis your comparable Earls, Cactus Club, and Brown's salads. Service as just ok. Nice enough but not as well trained or attentive as the above restaurant chains. Glo has hired wonderful looking people as is the trend now at these hipster restaurants but the days are over that looks are the only thing you need. One star away for service. Nice experience overall.

I went at lunch with a group of six. The service was good and the food was nice! The menu has something for every taste and the beverage list is interesting down to the kombucha. Great patio seating, nice atmosphere and view top off the experience. This is a place you could get dressed up for and the patio would make a nice date spot. I want to go back with friends!

The place has a nice atmosphere and the food was good. Even though the rest. Was not busy, the service was painfully slow. The wait staff was rarely around. We had a table of 7 and our dinner orders came out one or two at a time, so there was several minutes between the first and last plate to arrive.

Good service, Brunch menu looks appetizing. Ordered "traditional" Benny - was OK but not outstanding. Amount of hollandise sauce was underwhelming and lacked the rich mouthfeel and characteristic tang of a good hollandaise. Potatoes were tasty. On previous visits, had nice lunch and dinner items. Great patio setting along the entrance to the Gorge from Victoria Harbour as long as you're bot facing the mountain of cursed cars that are on an adjacent piece of shoreline.

Nice with good food. And it wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. The only slight damper was it did get pretty loud on the night we were there. Have only been the once, so don't know if that's standard or not. The chocolate dessert was amazing. The steak was good, but a little rarer than I expected(although I wouldn't be surprised if that was a proper medium rare and the cheaper places I've been to overcook)

Always a great experience and great food. But above and beyond is the staff. Kelsey always addresses me by my name and even though she may not be my server, will make me feel important. I left my camera at the restaurant tonight and another staff (I think) Justine ran out to find me and deliver this to me. I live in this neighbourhood and take many visitors there for brunch, lunch and dinner...often. Everyone loves the service and food. Not to exclude the location and patio...awesome Love having this service in my neighbourhood.

I was there about a week ago with a large group of colleagues, there were 14 of us. Not sure that is the reason but service was beyond slow, we literally had to wait 45 minutes to get our drinks. Most people in our group did enjoy the food. I ordered japanese sesame steak and was really looking forward to it but... Steak itself was ok. I mean, I had better steaks before. It was done right however I don’t think it was the best cut although I admit - I am picky with my steaks. So steak was ok but the sauce was bad. Terribly salty and not what I was expecting at all, I believe something happened to it in the kitchen I can’t see it being like that on a regular basis. To be completely honest, it is a fancy restaurant with interesting menu, great views and vibrant atmosphere, as well as reasonable prices. I can see how it’s liked by many and willing to give it another try say as a date spot for me and my wife. I just don’t think it’s suited for large groups.

If you want to enjoy beautiful summer weather on a patio with waterfront views, this is the place to go. Parking is relatively easy to find, the menu is great and the service is always outstanding! On a hot summer afternoon, despise the fact that the patio was unbelievably busy, our waiter kept refilling our ice teas without us having to ask. The location also allows for a nice walk around and across/over the nearby bridge if the weather is nice. The food: whether you feel like having a burger, a salad, wings, fish and chips and even pizza, this place has all of the above and more.

Good, creative dinner options and a fantastic deck with great views. I know they bill themselves as a lounge and not a restaurant but I think that this is a mistake on their part. The music is too loud inside to have a conversation in any group of more than 4 people and even with this number it is too loud to converse enjoyably. I would definitely recommend it if you can get an outdoor table on a sunny day but I would not recommend it if you have to sit indoors and are more interested in dinner than music.

A nice casual place to have a meal. Good food and quite a selection from vegetarian only to full on meat. I had the Buddha bowl and found it to tasty with a hint of spice. I'd definitely eat there again.

This is a walkable spot from our home and we had a very enjoyable evening. Our server was friendly, the bartender was helpful and we ended up with a table for a snack after a quick wait at the bar. Their bellini is excellent. The burgers had some neat toppings and we enjoyed the sesame sauce and mushroom topped burger. I like the overall ambience, the space is nicely laid out, the washrooms are clean and accessible and the views are lovely. Its situated in the Gorge next to the city refuse area so at times it is loud or a bit unsightly but I like to think there is always something going on and its fun to watch. Overall a great spot with nice staff.

This doesn't even deserve a star. Our last night in Victoria, the article we read about the chef sounded great, as well as the steaks. We make a reservation and after finally finding parking at are greeted by a hostess on the phone who cannot be bothered to look up and smile. Finally someone else arrives and we give our name,etc. We are shown not to three empty tables along the water view, but given the first table at the front where Everyone will walk by and nudge our chairs, not to mention the noise. Out goes the window a secluded spot for our last night. When we indicate we would like another table the hostess takes us back and we do not miss the Look she gives the other attendant! So then we are shown to a other table. Great just the same but on the other side of the reception area. We sit down with no words from the hostess and no server after 5 plus minutes. We get up and leave. I guess anyone in their fifties, well dressed are not the customers Glo is looking for!!! Perhaps if we were 20 years younger we would have been so badly treated. Our advice to anyone that is from our decade, beware, you could be given the child's table, or the old fogies table. Come on!!!!! Good riddence Flo and good luck if your employees continue to treat your clients that way!

Usually an amazing experience But On a Tuesday, the restaurant was pretty slow. we shad celebrated a birthday, we still had TERRIBLE service. OUr server Amanda was mannerless, wouldn’t tend to us in a timely fashion. We had to seek help from the wonderful hostess. Won’t be coming back to celebrate anything.

Had a very pleasant lunch. My first time visiting and it was wonderful. Sat outside on the patio to enjoy the warm late summer day. I ordered the Vegan Spicy Kung Pao with toffu. It was superb. I had never had a vegan dish before so it was a lovely experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This restaurant is attractive and located very near the Galloping Goose trail. It has very nice views on one side, and an ugly view of a junk pile on the other. The food is good, as is the drink menu. In the spring and summer there is a beautiful outside seating area.

My family and I celebrated a Birthday here today????Our server Mia was sweet and kind to my Mom and ourselves. The food was delicious and arrived quickly. Our drinks were tasty and prompt as well. Tasty meals. Have never had a bad meal here. Fungi pizza with vegetarian or pescatarian soup is a favourite! Great for birthdays. Buddha bowl is also excellent. Ahi tuna salad. Lettuce wraps. Lots to choose from... yum!

First the good: the location on the waterfront is amazing. The patio is a great place to spend a warm and sunny afternoon/evening. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious. Now for the not-so-good: Food was expensive. Portions were underwhelming. Staff seemed overworked as drink orders took a long time and were missed. Overall the facilities are nice and the food was good but the service was lacking, especially for the price paid.

Had a delicious Budha Bowl by the water. Only downside for our group was some seats have was partial view of the scrapping/recycling operation but personally I found that interesting. Can't fault them for that and the food and service was excellent at a very reasonable value.

My boyfriend and I love this place! The first time we came was for a couple casuals before we went home for dinner. We enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere so much we decided to stay for appies. Glo is now our go-to when we want to go out. The food is always great and we love the whole feel of the place. We also absolutely adore Amanda, as she has been our server almost every time we’ve come in. She is always warm and welcoming and gives us nothing but great service. Highly recommend!

Glo continues to be our top choice for quality and atmosphere. The food is interesting and well prepared. The servers are attractive and pleasant young adults who want customers to be happy. My only issue is sometimes it can get very noisy probably due to too much volume on music and sports channels. I suggest you make reservations and ask for a quieter location. They are happy to comply.

Three people standing there looking blankly at a computer screen for several minutes before a line up of people were acknowledged at the door. Was rather irritating. This restaurant is in a great location with a very nice view. The drink menu and some of the cocktails are unique and delicious. The happy hour deals are also really good. However the food is hit or miss. The service can also be quite slow here, even when they aren't busy. Overall this is a very standard restaurant that meets buts doesn't exceed expectations.

Some people love this place,and I can see why. It has a lot of potential. But, the bar does not have a blender, they under set our reservation and then squeezed us into the tables they had set for us. No high chairs or booster seats. But, the food was alright and the service good.

This restaurant is beautiful and very nice. We was at the patio, and the view is amazing. I love the place and food is so tasty as well. I had the Bacon prawn, Tuna tataki and the classic Caesar salad. Creme Brulee as dessert. Everything was tasty and fresh. Tuna cooked to the perfect point. For drinks I tried Cardamon spritzer and Spresso martini, both was good, I just found the spritzer too aromatic, but just my personal feeling, it was soo good. We found the server a bit slow on service, but after we notice was her first time serving by herself, and then I just want to say thank you and good job. Looking forward to come back soon. !!

I literally should have known - The only thing good about this place is the patio and view. When Glo originally opened it was excellent but has increasingly gone downhill since then. It has been a couple years since we had been ( due to horrible service and food the last time ) and this time the exact same thing. We came in with 2 kids - waited almost 10 minutes until we were even offered water. My 6 year old ordered calamari - 45 minutes later our food arrived and no exaggeration , there were 5 pieces of calamari and the rest was deep fried jalapenos. My husbands pizza was soaked and soggy dripping with oil . The waitress did not come to ask how our food was once. Our toddler was acting up , so when she finally passed us we said we had to go. We brought to her attention the food and her response was ' oh weird"... and that was it...... We walked out leaving 3/4 plate of deepfried jalepenos, a full soggy pizza and 3/4 shanghai lettuce wraps. 67.00 dollars later. That truly 100% will be the last time we go back.

Excellent patio with view, ok service by young pretty women, ok food, small portion size, price is mainly for location on beautiful view and young vibey atmosphere. So, I wouldn't go there with massive expectations or a big appetite unless you're prepared to spend and spend until you're full. Very popular spot so make reservations.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary last night and two separate friends recommended Glo so we thought this must be a sign. Let me say this, we were NOT DISAPPOINTED. The food was delicious and good sized portions, the service was top notch right from the host, to the waitress, who was very sweet, attentive but not overboard, to the extra servers. The ambiance was perfect. Would highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back. Thanks to everyone who made our evening special.

The ambiance is so nice in the evening. All twinkly with the chandelier and Christmas lights reflecting off the windows. The server was charming. The happy hour menu has changed which was.my only disappointment. They used to have many choices of champagne cocktails for happy hour. Some of my favorite appies are gone. But the halibut fish and chips were a real nice surprise! 2 pieces and chips were enough to fill my friend and I up with chips left over! The desert was , meh.I think that it was supposed to be sticky pudding but it was small, hard and chewy. And very sweet. Neither of us ate more then a bite. I will still go back for its ambiance and location , which overlooks the water and it has a great patio in the daytime even during winter.

Such a great patio destination in Victoria! Food is solid, drinks are good, staff are lovely. Can be a little slow at times with newer seasonal staff on a beautiful day but all in all still a 10 outta 10 would recommend to a friend!

Glo is consistent with their service. The outside patio is amazing for evenings or warm days with water and city views. I would recommend going at happy hour for special prices drinks. It is more on the expensive side.

I am very disappointed with the hassle to book a reservation for 5 people. I tried to book at reservation online, only to be told my reservation of 5 PEOPLE was too big and to contact the restaurant. So, I did just that. However, they will not take reservations by phone, I now need to email a manager because they won't put one on the phone. I am frustrated by the lack of customer service. Booking a reservation for such a small number of people shouldn't be this difficult! We will be taking our business elsewhere this time and in the future.

Probably the nicest patio in town, very large and with a great view. The interior is quite nice and very spacious with big windows all around, providing an equally good view inside from the patio. The menu could be better, nothing on it really sticks out, and there aren't any pub favourites such as Nachos and Fish and Chips, which is disappointing. The waitresses were very friendly and accommodating, so that was great.

While the location is very nice and the service is attentive, I must share that I was terribly disappointed in the meal! I ordered a chicken curry dish that had virtually no Indian spice in it at all - it actually tasted like the Frozen Indian dinners that I can get at the supermarket. I even had to add salt to the dish! It's very disappointing to order an Indian dish that needs to be seasoned!

We had a very good brunch here today. A nice table near the open door to catch the breeze and good service. We both had the Santa Fe Eggs Benedict with avocado, bacon and tomatoes as well as home fries. We came back for lunch the following week and had the chicken quesadillas which were huge with lots of chicken and other ingredients.

Dine around Victoria coupon at Glo Restaurant on the Selkirk Water Way, choice of two salads, 4 entrees & two deserts. Wife & I had the two different salads that we’re great, I had sirloin w/mushrooms, delicious; my wife had the Coconut Curry w/prawns-> WOW you gotta get some of that! Our waitress says it was made for the DIne Around menu but so very popular it’s being added to their regular menu. Very up scale casual dining atmosphere w/views of the waterfront. Attention to detail for everything!

Food was mediocre at best. However I went there with a group of friends with the prior knowledge that it was gluten free friendly, since my friend has celiac disease. Despite my friend checking 3 times to make sure her meal was gluten free they managed to give her non gluten free pasta and pretty much screwed her over. They apologized but it was still a very negative experience. Would not eat there again.

First post Covid restaurant. Glo has always been a go-to for us, good food good service, and our neighbour.

We were a table of 25, which alot of places will not take. The restaurant was packed and demanding. Our service was superb, with the waitress never really leaving us wanting. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and everyone left pretty darn happy. Obviously this is not the highest end place in Victoria but my two dark beers, (small) tasty maple pear salad, yummy cookie crunch ice cream dessert and main meal that included roasted veggies and pork all came to 56$, including tax. I gave 70$ and felt more than satisfied that I had received my money's worth.

Food is delicious and the location couldn’t be any better. However, the service isn’t the greatest. There’s constant conversations happening between servers and other staff. With Covid protocols the restaurant capacity was split in half so there should be more time serving customers rather than the employees prioritizing conversations with each other. I was so unimpressed that I would’ve preferred that my entire tip went to the kitchen.

A great place to hangout with your family, friends, or significant other. The place has a great ambience and has an exquisite sense of style. The food is excellent but may seem to have taken heavy inspirations from other restuarants such as Cactus Club. Also, some items are a little pricey especially considering what you get but this does not apply to everything on the menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those who are interested in casual fine dining.

My friend and I went last night and honestly we were placed outside and it kind of seemed like they forgot about us? Service was slow when the restaurant was like less than half full. Food was decent. The pecan crusted salmon is not crusted, more like sprinkled with.

The interior layout of this resturant is quite compelling. The central based plan makes everything feel connected. The patio seats are amazing, but if you want to ensure a spot without waiting, be sure to make a reservation. There's a good mix of fusion food and more western food. Drinks were also quite good. The red sangria was the best sangria I've ever had!

It was super dark, as soon as you walk in it smells overwhelmingly like the perfume every 19 year old girl wears to the club. It reminded me of walking into Distrikt or 9one9 for us older folk. Service was slow and we weren't asked about food until half the table was done their first drink. Food was emaculate, stunning taste, perfectly cooked absolutely perfect and delicious. I won't go in again, but I would order delivery.

Even in the dreary winter months the view is great. The location is superb and ambiance was modern yet comfortable. We were impressed by the food, although we only sampled the happy hour offerings, which were numerous. We thought it was great value for the money. Highly recommend.

Glo probably had the nicest view of the establishments that we spent time at in Victoria. It's truly walking distance from the inner harbour on a really nice trail by the Gorge. We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. The drinks were well priced, and they had a really great selection for happy hour. It's a very trendy place, and the service was on point. 3.5 Stars. This place is right on the Gorge Waterway, with a large patio and huge windows giving every seat a view of the water. Service was friendly and quick, and I felt comfortable with the COVID protocols So, why the mediocre rating? Much of the menu is "with jalapeno" this or "spicy" that. As one with I sensitive stomach, I ordered one of the few things I thought would not disagree with me, a flatbread. It was well prepared and very tasty, but had an overwhelming quantity of garlic. I really wanted to like the place, but I'd give it a miss unless you are a fan of the spice or the garlic.

There is a patio overlooking water along with an inside eating area. I ordered a burger which was high quality, about what i expected from the restaurant. The fries are spicy, which may be good or bad for some people. There is a car junkyard across the river from the restaurant, something which doesn't really fit in with the environnment, but is still interesting. Needs more experienced waiters

First time here, used Dine Around as an excuse to try something new... and boy was I glad to have done so. I've tried a lot of restaurants in Victoria and this has jumped right to the top of the list. Ambiance, service and food were all fantastic, a few hiccups (halibut was slightly overcooked and our mains were deposited on the table while we were still on the appetizer course), but they were minor and did not detract from the experience. Excellent overall, will definitely be planning another evening here soon. Note: make sure to place a reservation (which we did), this place can get very busy.

Beautiful building inside, great patio outside, with a nice view of the gorge trestle bridge. The daily cocktail caesar was nicely spiced. The food was very good but the staff are a huge down fall for this restaurant. From the staff greeting us when we arrived, the staff bringing food to the table, the way the staff handled most everything, even calling a taxi for us, at the end of our evening. We have no reason to recommend this restaurant or return for a second chance.

Food was fantastic and the server was very friendly. Only have one complaint and that’s the lack of any masks and multiple servers for one table. After visiting other restaurants around town who have their staff wearing masks and there being no problem in quality of service because of this (always was able to hear them no problem), it was very jarring to see this lack of masks at glo. There was also no six feet distancing which makes it hard to enjoy your dinner when worried that you might give or receive covid. Wonderful restaurant, just would recommend visiting after the covid pandemic.

We had never been before but not only were the hostesses absolutely wonderful, the atmosphere was both elegant and cozy making us wish we had planned dinner out rather than ordering take out. With that being said, the food was exceptional even in the comforts of our own home. Everything (appetizers and main courses) were flavorful, pleasantly presented, and cooked to perfection. They have top notch employees and a chef who clearly has a passion for what he plates. Not only was the food divine but its price point isnt bank breaking either. Worth every cent spent and then some; definitely worth a visit!

This is a hidden gem if you ask me. The menu is full of everyday favourites that you will likely see elsewhere as well, however they add a particular one of a kind version to most menus items that sets it apart from any other restaurant. The food has always been good!. However my favourite part would actually be the design of the restaurants interior and exterior.. its very open and airy and not cramped and dark like most places..the exterior patio is huge and offers a view different from the ever common harbour view.

Wonderful patio with large trees and shade umbrellas was perfect for a hot day. Beer was cold. Buddha bowl was very tasty. Staff were great. Only downside as with most restaurants serving fries as an appy is if you're going to charge me 8 bucks a serving provide more than a literal handful. They're friggin potatoes. They only cost a few pennies each.

Disappointing evening at Glo. Location can’t be beat, it’s just perfect. It’s beautiful all around, the views are to die for. Decor and atmosphere is very nice, cozy, unique. Food is good. Not out of this world good, but good. What I have issues with is how this place is run. It spoils al those good things that they have going for them with how they handle it, I have been here three times now, and noticed the same thing over and over, and now that it’s busy - it’s more apparent. Can’t book a patio table, only inside. Okay, booked. Showed up a bit early to see that maybe we could get a patio table. When we arrived there were 4 tables at the patio, empty, yet the girl at the front said it’s a 45 minute wait. The entire 45 minutes we were outside waiting, those tables didn’t fill up. The entire time. 4 groups of people could have had dinner and left. 20’minutes into it I went in and asked and the girls said - oh well we have people before you. I said - where are they. She said - we texted them. Okay… so in 45 minutes those people didn’t show up? This system does not work. If people are not here, give their table away, or better yet - let people reserve patio tables, and there will be none of this. Other restaurants manage this somehow. It is very frustrating to stand there and see that for 45 minutes you have to wait while tables are open. Finally we got seated inside because we couldn’t wait anymore. Ordered drinks, they took a while to be made, then saw them sit at the bar for good 10 minutes before anyone brought them to us. Then it took 55!!! Minutes to get 2 appetizers, on a Thursday. I mean. It’s just not worth it. No one apologized, no one cared. Oh and our table was across from the bar, and there was this garbage can by the till, in our direct view, which was spilling over with garbage, it was so unsightly. And all the staff just continued to step over the garbage or even add to it, no one cared to bend over and clean it up. Just not a good feeling today, which is too bad because this place can really be very special.

Extremely inconsistent, everytime I've gone there which is 3 times. The food was different. The last time I was just there the food was the worst. We ordered glo flat bread and it was supposed to be warm fluffy medium height bread with warm gorgonzola sauce drizzled over top of it. But instead it was burnt to the point of being a large chip and the cheese on top was all over cooked and had a burnt taste and the cream sauce was cold and not over the flat bread it was in a container. What a disappointment. Will never return.

I had company visiting from Vancouver. I made a reservation at Glo in advance of their visit. I requested seating with a view - wanting to have an nice atmosphere for myself and guests. Upon arriving we were seated at the very first table as you walk in the dining lounge. I went to speak to the hostess about my advance reservation and seating request. She said they could not honour my request at the time I chose to eat - 7 pm...this made no sense, they new the time when I booked 2 wks before. I felt "lead on"! The food did not make up for the seating. Overall it was disappointing and the food was average.

Nice enough for lunch, but very noisy at dinner. Trendy to the point of being pretentious. Good menu choices. Went with a couple of friends. We all have disability challenges of various kinds. Staff were helpful and respectful of our needs. Typical of Victoria and I always appreciate that. A beautiful location on the Gorge Waterway. A real asset. Accessible entry. Accessible washrooms. You have to pay for parking and it can be hard to find. Some accessible blue tag parking in the area.

I first got to experience the amazing food and atmosphere that Glo has to offer when I took my wife there for our anniversary. The second time was an unforgettable experience. I was tasked with finding a place for the owner of the company I work for and a group of his friends and family to go for dinner before he left back to Alberta. Not only did the manager go above and beyond to accommodate all of us last minute, but she did it in such a way that everyone was extremely satisfied and thrilled with the experience. If you ever have a need to wow someone or some people, I highly recommend Glo. Two thumbs up.

As someone who is picky (read: I have the palate of a five year old), there is enough on the menu to satisfy anyone while still feeling fancy and adult. The staff are very friendly! The only issue I had was that the chairs are on the bigger side, so you may be pushed a little but to the edge of the table in order to have some elbow space if someone is sitting right next to you.

The girlfriend and I came here to try their Dine around menu and we were happy with our experience. The service was pretty good, drinks were awesome and the food was a 4/5. I got the tenderloin and it was a bit try for that type of cut and it tasted a bit more charred than I would like, it definitely took the flavor away from the rest of the dish and it was a bit more on the drier side. Besides that, I was pleased with this place.

My daughter and I were there on August 7. We were appalled that no servers had masks on; in fact no one in the entire place had a mask. To my mind, that is the most important precaution which should be mandatory. Why aren't all restaurants forced to comply? We will not go back. The food was delicious but we were ill after a few hours and very worried. The Owner got back to my complaint with a lot of mumble jumble but we are not impressed. We worried about salmonella from onions as that is the common denominator in our meal choices. Be careful!!! Covid is on the rise.

Amazing view and very relaxed, chill vibe. The menu was great and had a broad price range to choose some great meals or combos - be it after work apps or a 3 course date night. The service is what really disappointed me. It took 10 minutes after we sat down to be served - and it was not busy. Our apps and first plate came out at the same time. Our server didn't seem overly knowledgeable about the food, nor did the other server who was on the table beside us. Our drinks also sat empty for at least 20 minutes before our server came by and noticed, nor were we given waters when we sat down had to ask after we got appys. A lot of menus items were not available. It could have been that it was a week night or that we were in near the end of the evening. We rattled off a few items that we wanted, which were not available. I also overheard our neighboring table have the same issue. A lot of younger, pretty girls, but at this price point I'd like some more experienced or quality service. It didn't ruin my evening, but I'd be less inclined to recommend the location or bring guests there.

The location and patio can’t be beat if you choose to come here. I hate to say this, because it could just be an off night, but the food just okay, and the service was awful. I decided to eat here cuz they offered a drink with this special (very hard to find) tequila, and when the drink comes, I’m given the most basic of basic tequilas (el jimador) and I still paid for the more expensive drink. Not impressed. I ended up having to go eat somewhere else cuz I was still not satisfied. I will try this restaurant again, when I’m in town.

Great location and great place.has a great menu which offers a lot to choose from. Staff are exceptional at this establishment. This location has an awesome outside patio which has incredible views and is shaded off form the direct sunlight. Patio probably doubles the size of the restaurant. definitely try here if you already haven't.

It has been years that I haven't had such a bad experience, and specially today that I had not one but two birthday people at the table. Went there to celebrate my spouse and our friend birthday. Got there, service was a slow since the start, 5 min in our plant gets on fire from the candle that was just beside it. We quickly put the fire down. it was very quickly spread, I handled the burned and smoky tree to the server that was walking by and he barely acknowledges and no one brings another candle. Didn't care much but that's just the start of a very uneventful evening. Service is insanely slow, seriously. Upsetting slow. We get our drinks and server disappear. Finally comes around we order the food, our drinks end and we can't get a server to ask another drink. Our food arrive and we can't order the drinks because they are not the servers. We are almost done the food and finally the server comes so we are able to order drinks. As one of the birthday person has gotten wine as a gift we ask if we can pay for the cork fee and use the wine we have, worried that also would take forever to get the wine if we ordered a new bottle. At this point we had already finished our food but server doesn't take the plates. 10 min goes and server comes to get the plates. Time to pay the bill. Split was wrong, another forever to be able to get the server to come back with the machine so we can tell it is wrong. Wow. I seriously haven't had an experience like this in years. We got so upset, killed the nice bday vibe. Ah, not to mention that the deserts I had asked when booking was never mentioned. It was late, we were already upset we decided just to go and not bother. Had such high expectations.

The food was very good but the staff are a huge down fall for this restaurant. From the staff greeting us when we arrived, the staff bringing food to the table, the way the staff handled most everything, even calling a taxi for us, at the end of our evening. We have no reason to recommend this restaurant or return for a second chance.

Just had an incredible evening at Glo. To start with, and I cannot emphasize this enough, I had a pleasant interaction with Kayla. So impressed with her professional and welcoming attitude. She set the evening on a very fine mood! For food, I had the peppercorn steak which was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was nice, and we were lucky about the view. 5 out of 5!

The service here is amazing, as is the food and patio. Unfortunately, our dinning experience was marred by the owners son and his drunken group of friends. One came over to our table, after the owners son spent 5 minutes dramatically telling him to keep his composure he grabbed a chair to throw at him (a joke but ridiculous given the atmosphere and setting). He pulled a chair up in between my 2 female friends and grabbed the butter knives off of the table and started waving them around behind their backs. He sat at our table and finally after perhaps 15 minutes, our server stepped in and asked him to return back to his group. When you're averaging bills of about $75 per person, the last thing you want is the drama of 20 year old men being aggressive and boasting about how they know they know the owner. Poor form, and an irritating/disturbing end to an otherwise lovely dinning experience.

Service came with a lot of smiles - ones you could see through the masks. I had halibut and chips and it didn't come through as fresh caught or fresh potatoes. The fish was mushy were it should have been firm. The recommended was off and a tad bitter. I was looking for a 2 - a dessert wine - I know strange mix for halibut. My wife had wanted a Majito but not a stick of mint could be found. Her dinner wasn't bad - it was a salad of sorts and she enjoyed it. Our friends were celebrating their 45 wedding anniversary and both enjoyed their meals. The entertainment was outside - the wind was blowing up a storm and the umbrellas were flying and staff was a chasing ... the whole time they kept a smile on and a great attitude.

She told two other people they could leave if they couldn't find a seat and she would not let us put any other chairs around the table. She got mad if you got out of your seat to say hello to someone. I was a waitress in my younger years and would never speak to any customer in that fashion. I don't think I'll go back.

First time here, used Dine Around as an excuse to try something new... and boy was I glad to have done so. I've tried a lot of restaurants in Victoria and this has jumped right to the top of the list. Ambiance, service and food were all fantastic, a few hiccups (halibut was slightly overcooked and our mains were deposited on the table while we were still on the appetizer course), but they were minor and did not detract from the experience. Excellent overall, will definitely be planning another evening here soon. Note: make sure to place a reservation (which we did), this place can get very busy.

I come here often since I work in the same building and it’s convenient. It’s amazing how every time I go (every time!), it’s like the staff are confused and not appreciative of their clientele. It starts at the door where the hostess greets clients. It takes forever for them to determine if or where they will seat you. You’d think they have figured out a better system by now. Only once my server was on top of her game, friendly, helpful, happy and attentive to her tables. The food is not bad and the other redeeming feature is the patio and the view on the Selkirk waterway.

Had a countless happy hour meetings with a group of besties. The happy hour , and the entire menu is great. Love the patio sitting but inside is good too, nice and cosy, however it can get loud at times. Oh well, this is a common problem with all restaurants that are busy - for a good reason! ;-)

I enjoyed the food with one exception - the chef is clearly not a vegetarian as the tofu I ordered with my meal was the worst I've ever had at a restaurant- like no flavor and barely cooked. The seafood pasta was delicious and so were the drinks and artchichoke dip :)

On Thursday, June 21/18, my friend and I went out for dinner at Glo Restaurant + Lounge. Seated on the outdoor patio, we enjoyed the experience of sitting in the warm early evening sun while watching the various activities on the Gorge Waterway. The service was excellent. The servers are well-trained, and the menu contains a wide selection of very good dishes. On this visit, I fancied a Bacon + Aged Cheddar Burger, a side, and finished off with Sticky Toffee Pudding. Delicious.

Ok, service is 10/10. Don’t sit at the bar, bartenders are pretty quiet. Servers are incredible. I’ve eaten several things on the menu. DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN WRAPS. It’s ground chicken that taste like dog food. Otherwise this is my favourite patio in Victoria period. Drink menu is super nice. The Bellini is a bit of a miss but otherwise awesome. Glo has been a favorite place that we go every time family comes to town. The food, setting and service are always excellent. However our most recent experience this past weekend was disappointing. After being seated we waited 20 mins before a server came to acknowledge our table. I know many restaurants are short staffed right now so that would be understandable, but when I asked our server about it she said Glo has all of their usual staff back. So I'm not sure why there was such a delay. Anyway, the real disappointment came when our meals arrived. I usually have the same salad every time I come but this time when it appeared on it was 1/2 the size as usual and missing several of the components that were supposed to be on it. It was literally a handful of greens with a couple sad strands of vegetables. Family members commented that their portions were much smaller than usual as well - yet the prices are the same. Our server said it must have been a kitchen error and brought out the missing items on the side. But I left hungry because the salad (which is normally a nice meal size) was still so tiny. It doesn't seem fair to keep prices high but skimp on portions and hope customers won't notice. I'm sad to say that next time we will be looking for a new lunch spot for our family get together. UPDATE Oct. 21/21: The manager kindly followed up with me to address the issues from my last visit and invite me to return. I appreciated the personal response and do plan to go back; will update at that time. Thank you.

The location is absolutely gorgeous, amazing view, great ambiance and the staff were very nice to interact with, aka professional and remembered your order. I recommend the place for an evening of chatting around with your friends. If you're going there fir lunch, expect longer times as there's quite a few office buildings around the location. If you tell them you're on your lunch they will expedite the order. Oh and sometimes they have their own DJ mixing lounge music so another + for them.

Glo Restaurant has been a favourite dining spot since it opened under a different name. Under the Glo banner we consistently have had great service & food. On Monday night we were surprised and happy to see the patio dining area full and didn’t mind waiting. The young lady who greeted guests and managed the wait list was very professional and friendly. You can tell the staff are well trained and happy at their work. My husband & I want to thank the anonymous diner who paid for our dinner last evening at Glo Restaurant, a favourite spot. We hadn’t mentioned we were celebrating his Birthday and while we hadn’t been there for almost 1 year, as usual the food and service (Catrina) were exceptional. The beautiful evening on a sunny patio was made even more perfect when our server informed us that an anonymous diner in the restaurant had paid our bill. There was no one we recognized who may have been so generous. In a year full of challenges and so much negativity it restores your faith in the kindness of humankind. You have inspired us and some of our friends to ‘pay it forward’ in a similar fashion. Thank you for a perfect ending to my husband’s birthday.

Called to make a reservation for my girlfriends mothers birthday dinner. They were very accommodating and although they can't guarantee a spot on the patio, they did everything they could to get us a table out there for her special birthday dinner. They made notes on our reservation and the manager / owner made sure we had a great spot on the patio the view was amazing! Ive read lots of reviews about bad waitressing but ours was great very friendly and helpful with the menu. Food prices were modest and food was amazing. Everybody was extremely happy with there meal. Will definitely be going back.

We enjoyed dinner on the Patio July 5, 2021. Huge Gluten Free selection was very much appreciated. Vegetarian Buddha bowl (also available Vegan) was delicious and filling. Appetizers included Ahi Tuna and Spinach artichoke dip was fabulous. Service was prompt without being intrusive. Excellent drink selection. Patio has some heaters to take the chill off if necessary. Was a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend for a visit.

Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. We were a group of 20 people who came to celebrate a special birthday. The staff were extremely helpful and efficient. You didn't even know they were there. Food came quickly and tasted delicious. Thanks for making our evening special.

Last night i was at Glo to celebrate my birthday with 6 of my bearest and dearest. From the moment we walked in, it was incredible. Our table was in a fantastic area, our server, Jaydra was EXTRAORDINARY! We all know restaurants have been through a lot the past 18 months so i feel like the amazing service deserves ti be highlighted. Jay made sure to cover every detail for us, no matter how minor. Last night was one of the best nights i have had this year and I sure hope you have a similar experience when you go! The food and drinks were also incredible. We had 3 appies and each ordered an entree. Everyone loved their meals! Especially the Spicy Kung Pao bowl with tofu and the lettuce wraps! Soooo yummy! I can't wait to go back! Thank you! Great atmosphere and ambience. The food is nicely balanced and plated. The side and starter are more creative and delicious than the main. The small table is croweded with candle, flower, wine menu, shakers, etc. I had to personally move them out of the way after the beverage arrives to make room for the main course.

The cutlery was dirty ( check yours if you visit this place) and had to be replaced. The food was ok for the price charged ( nothing special). The coffee served was cold and I had to ask for a fresh one. The Service is extremely poor - As if these waitresses didn't even know how to serve and were just hired for their looks .On top of that they have a pre-built tip system on their credit card machines ( insulting given the service they give). Anyway , the location is nice so visit if you prefer ambiance over food or hygiene or service quality - else no.

Enjoyed the food and menu options on prior visits. Having Said that, I recently tried to book a larger reservation weeks in advance for my university graduation dinner (which I was really excited about having here) and have had zero follow up....I called in and was directed to email the manager which I did promptly after and have yet to receive any sort of response.... I get if they are unable to host my party but the professional thing to do would be to let the person know. Rather disappointed and have had to take my business else where :(

A beautiful venue, lovely ambiance, and very good food. The sangria was tasty, and the bartender went out of her way to double check allergy information for me. It is rare as a vegetarian, let alone a vegan, to be offered an actual protein in a salad. The pan-fried tofu in sesame oil may have added to the cost of the salad, but it's probably the first time I've been offered, so I'll take it! We'll definitely be back.

Glo was a dim experience for us... While visiting Victoria for the first time and coincidentally in concurrence with the night of the annual Symphony Splash (August 4th), my wife and I felt it might be best to dine somewhere away from all the massive throngs of people gathering for that event located so near our hotel, the Fairmont Empress. We had previously done some poking around online and decided to try Glo mostly based upon description, online reviews and that it was well away from the concert area. Arriving on time on a Sunday evening the restaurant was between half and two-thirds full. We were greeted by the maître d' and given seating options of either indoor or outdoor. We settled on an outdoor table and had a nice view of the gorge waterway as was mentioned in the reviews. However, not mentioned in those reviews is, directly adjacent, an automobile crush junkyard. And from our table we could see it all! No worries and we later engaged in some fun banter with the maître d' about it. Our server, Lauren, introduced herself and we ordered a couple sparkling wines (Prosecco) to get the evening going. The wife asked for water as well. We then proceeded to drill down on the menu. After some delay and a 2nd request for water, Lauren delivered, but without Prosecco. We asked a few questions about menu items and I requested the vegetarian/gluten-free version just to see what, if any, additions there may have been. Lauren left to fetch it and to get our bubbly. That was the last we saw of Lauren until much later. More time passed and we finally flagged down a waiter tending to another table and asked her to find Lauren and our wine and that we'd like to order. And oh, by the way, now going on 45 minutes wait time since seating, it would be a nice gesture to comp our Proseccos. She said she'd get the manager who turned out to be maître d' Claire. Claire came right over and she kindly and without hesitation comp'd our still to be delivered glasses of wine. She also took our orders. I ordered a Caesar's and the Butter Chicken Bowl but substituting prawns (a slight up charge) for the chicken and requested easy on the butter. The wife had the soup special, vegetarian, and the Grilled Chicken Penne Pasta. We also ordered a bottle of Sav blanc wine. At last Lauren showed up with our Proseccos. Lauren apologized about the slow service and explained she had "gotten busy". Both the salad and soup were acceptable but nothing to write home about. In fact the bread that accompanied the soup was nothing more than a common grocery store warm 'n serve dinner roll. No complains from us. Our bottle of wine arrived soon thereafter, followed by entrees and they looked good, but I had to have Claire return mine because it was chicken rather than the specified prawns. I insisted the wife go ahead and start and I hoped the kitchen would flash re-fire my order. The wife was plodding through her dish and I asked if it was good. "It's OK I guess but the penne pasta is definitely not from scratch and the chicken rather chewy". In the interest of time she did not want to send it back. My redone order arrived and it was acceptable, no issues, but not what I'd refer to as memorable. We declined desert. I gave this review three stars however it really should be 2.5. Epilog: We booked our reservation through Open Table who later sent a message that Glo reported us as a No Show for the reservation. We reciprocated by providing OT detail on our arrival time that clearly could be supported by the parking receipt (in the hands of the restaurant), items ordered and cost of the meal. Perhaps this was a clumsy attempt by Glo to circumvent our tendering a less than stellar review?

Glo is situated in a business/residential area on "the gorge", which is a quieter and less busy area compared with the downtown Inner Harbor area. In a newer building, it has modern decorating which remains warm and inviting. There is a large outside patio with a relaxing environment. The menu is varied. The service was exceptional. Unfortunately our main course of steak was disappointing. I was very pleased with how graciously our concerns were handled. Anyone can have an off day! I feel sure that next time I visit, I will see the concern addressed. You can be sure if anything isn't to your satisfaction, genuine efforts will be made to correct your concern.

The phenomenal view is equal to the delicious food at Glo! There are lots of vegetarian and vegan options which was wonderful. The Thai Peanut Salad ($15) was a perfect mix of veggies and noodles and was light on the dressing. It was super delicious! The poached pear and brie pizza ($15) was also amazing! The pear gives a nice freshness and acidity and the dough was perfect. The service from Patricia was very wonderful, quick, and friendly. She was a wonderful server and we wish we could come back but we are just visiting Victoria.

I ordered the lettuce wraps but they were not very good. The chicken looked like hamburger meat and was quite spicy. There were not many toppings either. Parts of the lettuce was brown too. I was very disappointed as they are considered a top notch high class restaurant. They need to go to the Cactus Club and try theirs, as theirs are amazing so I was expecting the food to be at least as good as the Cactus Club. They gave me 25% off which I thought was not right to even charge me for such a disappointing meal and perhaps given me a coupon or note to come back and try something else rather than how they handled it.

Arrived and was seated a bit farther from the water than I had hoped, but Chantel and her team were graciously accommodating and moved us to a new table. Food was average at best, definitely paying for the view and atmosphere. I had the Japanese burger and it was simply just a salty, greasy hunk of meat with a generic seasame sauce. The burger also literally fell apart in my hands as I tried to eat it. It was just very one note meal, salty being the primary note. For the price point ($17) I would have liked some depth in the flavour and maybe some contrast in texture. Would come back for the view and company but will skip the burger.

I've ordered from you several times and my spouse and I have throughly enjoyed our meals, so something must have been severely off last night because 2 of our 3 entrées were terrible. I am always excited to order from glo, but that sentiment has certainly changed now. We even had to call the restaurant because the Skip the dishes menu wouldn't allow meal mods. I hope management sees this and takes some action. Is the poor quality because our meals were leaving the restaurant for delivery? Or because we had made modifications? Times are tight and we don't really have money to waste on bad food. So we probably won't be ordering again until something significant changes.

Nice location, unfortunately very windy that day. The view of the waterway was enhanced by the gigantic pile of crushed cars soaring into the sky surrounded by a halo of seagulls. Rushed service due to pandemic rules which only allows 90 minutes to be seated, eat and leave. When asked if we wanted dessert, I suspect it would have come in a "to go" box. Have been at Glo before and have quite enjoyed it. This trip can't give more than 3 stars.

Every visit I've had at Glo has been great! The 1st time was for a large Xmas work party, and it was well organized, friendly staff and delicious food. There's a good variety of menu options for food sensitivities, a beautiful patio overlooking the ocean and Happy Hour specials from 2-5pm, like the lettuce wraps, that are SO yummy! Two years and many visits later, and it's still the perfect experience that I've learned to expect from Glo. Thank you for continuing to be one of my top choices in the city.

Went here to celebrate my birthday with a few friends on this past Sunday. Although our server was nice enough, I was not given what I ordered. Not a huge deal but I am a paying customer and I don’t think this is an overly complicated job, to write down what I say on a paper to give the kitchen. The location is okay enough if you’re not looking at the barge of crushed cars. Portions were on the smaller side and pretty average food overall - not worth returning for in my opinion. Server took ownership for her mistake but I was offered no compensation in any form. Likely will not be returning here... disappointing, I wanted to like it.

I hadn't been to Glo in over 5 years so I was looking forward to last night. The food was good and the atmosphere were fine but the service was brutal. They were severely overstaffed and you would think the service would be good. Not so much. I sat at the bar for 10 minutes as I watched 5 different staff members completely ignore me. Usually when one sits at the bar, they want a drink. So finally I ask someone if the bartender can get me drink. I shouldn't have to ask. Once I get my drink I order some food which was good. But when it came, I got no cutlery. Instead of waiting around for the girl who dropped the food off to bring me something to eat it with, I grabbed some off a nearby table. Usually I'm pretty easy going when it comes to restaurant experiences but these two instances of poor service will keep me away from this place for another 5 years.

I ordered a hamburger with jalapeno cheddar soup on the side. The soup was great but the hamburger patty was not seasoned and was overcooked and dry. The caramelized onions on the burger were not caramelized, just sauteed until they were translucent. My husband's dish of crispy fried shrimp was really good. I did like the atmosphere and the service was ok. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant. I believe that they probably just overlooked the condition of the burger.

Great service and a good selection of gluten free food. The kitchen forgot to put chicken in my bowl but our server was quick to fix the problem and get me a new one, so no problem there are all. The food was delicious, but we did notice that the portion for the sesame steak bowl was quite a bit smaller than the kung pao bowl, and both could use a bit more sauce.

This restaurant is in a great location with a very nice view. The drink menu and some of the cocktails are unique and delicious. The happy hour deals are also really good. However the food is hit or miss. The service can also be quite slow here, even when they aren't busy. Overall this is a very standard restaurant that meets buts doesn't exceed expectations.

Great place to eat and have a drink with your family and friends. We went there to have a brunch. One of my friends had something called 12 hours brisket and that was really good. I had the prawn carbonara and spinach and artichoke dips to share. Worth of trying, portion was good enough and taste was great but little salty overall. It also has a great view with a river in front. They have friendly staffs , live DJ music and great customer service. The main food can be out little slowly so it can be a good idea to have something to share while you wait.

Superb patio, fantastic service and really good food! Glo have nailed it. I have food sensitivities and I appreciate good value. I had the Cesar salad with salmon. The salad was not too drenched in dressing (as some places will do) and the salmon was melt in your mouth FRESH and a decent size portion. It’s all you can ask for, really. Our server was a total darling, very accommodating and attentive. I will definitely go back when I am craving an awesome patio experience!

One came over to our table, after the owners son spent 5 minutes dramatically telling him to keep his composure he grabbed a chair to throw at him (a joke but ridiculous given the atmosphere and setting). He pulled a chair up in between my 2 female friends and grabbed the butter knives off of the table and started waving them around behind their backs. He sat at our table and finally after perhaps 15 minutes, our server stepped in and asked him to return back to his group. When you're averaging bills of about $75 per person, the last thing you want is the drama of 20 year old men being aggressive and boasting about how they know they know the owner. Poor form, and an irritating/disturbing end to an otherwise lovely dinning experience.

The food was pretty good. There garlic parmesan fries were quite tasty and certainly worth it. I ordered a scallop and prawn pesto pasta. The flavor of the pasta was good but I would have liked to have had more prawns in there especially for the price. The overall price of the food was a little too expensive for what it was so I personally wont go back again but I will say their outdoor seating was really nice and the staff let us take our time there. If I was going there just to have drinks and a nice place outside I would recommend the place.

Had family here from out of town for our daughter’s 2nd birthday and we chose Glo to enjoy some food on their beautiful patio. Too bad Glo hasn’t put the effort in to providing high chairs for their clients. Will not return as they’re clearly not a family restaurant and we will spend our hard earned money elsewhere

Friends and I have enjoyed regular patio dining even before Covid, and Glo has always been a favourite of ours. The expanded patio is even more lovely now and Paul and his team have created a special atmosphere with comfortable seating, amazing food and service along with the best waterside view in town.

Small portions was here for a birthday and ordered the ribs and the sauce on them was just ketchup and Tabasco sauce which was bad. The second time they can out with out sauce and the plate was almost to hot where I could have burned my self and the ribs were cold mixed with barely warm. The server was ok very nice but had no care about what making sure the food was right. Honestly for the price I’m not sure I’ll be coming back here any time soon a little over priced for food that I can get better some where else for less the price and more food.

Glo nas nailed it. Definitely ten out of ten for lunch on Saturday. We have been to several reopened upscale restaurants in Victoriarcently, and Glo was by far the best.......from the greeting, to the safety measures,, to the ambiance, to the view, to the classy staff, to the menu choices, to the food, to the friendly and attentive service ....so the Glo Team nailed it. My favorite for Happy Hour. Huge area of outdoor seating on the Gorge waterfront (Selkirk neighborhood). Very beautiful, mellow vibe. Rowing club next door so you can watch the crews warming up and training on dragon boats, getting ready for racing. Love the menu too. Look in the opposite direction from the rowing club and you will see one of the largest junk car recycling operation I’ve seen ????????

Arrived at 7 for our reservation. Order taken around 7:15. Appies took at least 30 minutes to arrive. At 8:30 the manager came and told us they were out of my wife's entree (and most other entrees for that matter), so she ended up choosing a salad. Both entrees arrived after another 20 minutes. Having just been started eating the server came by told us it was last call if we wanted to order anything else. We were not inclined to order dessert yet. 40th wedding anniversary dinner shot to hell. The appies were great. My entree was good. My wife's salad was limp and mushy. Service was average at best.

I have never had a disappointing night here at glo! Service can be slightly slow sometimes but I put it down to the restaurant always being packed with people. Cocktails are delicious, prices are reasonable and the food is phenomenal. My mother and I had two courses under 45 minutes recently with fantastic tasting steak and keen attentive service from Lena! One of our favourite places to go when in Victoria but not this time. We asked to sit on the patio, they said there was no room, it was half empty the whole time we were there. The waitress was greatly lacking which showed in her tip. I had the halibut and chips, disappointed with the chips, not traditional british chips. Frozen from a bag and had Italian herbs on them. Sorry that is just wrong to me. I didn't eat them and the waitress didn't notice or ask. I got very sick later in the evening and I think it was the fish. My son had a burger which he said was good and he didn't mind the frozen fries with herbs.

Update: Went again this past week and I now believe that they would rather have a 1 top go elsewhere than seat them at a table. The bar is heavily pushed. On a side note, Google contacted me to say that this review has had 1000 views and still no response from the restaurant.... Had a great experience as seen below. Have been back several times and always get the black and blue 10oz. I have had issues twice and it always seems to be with the hostess. The first time I waited several minutes as the hostess was flirting with someone and didn't want to be bothered. She eventually came over, gave me the menu to hold and let me know that I could carry the menu to the table and seat myself. Today I went in at 4:30pm and was told I could be seated but would have to leave by 5:15pm. I asked how come and they said they were booked. That would be fair but when I looked at booking online they were wide open, including a seating at 4:45. Not sure why I couldn't take that opening instead on being squished into a time that had already passed. Obviously not wanting to order my 10oz black n blue steak, my Old Fashioned, eat and pay all within 30min I went to the old Spaghetti Factory downtown and tipped the difference on what my meal would have cost. Sat at the bar and ordered a Orange Grove. Tasted exactly how I expected. Ordered the 10oz Black n Blue and it was cooked to my specifications. Was disappointed to see potatos as the in season side when I ordered the warm Potato and Bacon Salad. Thank fully they turned out to be beets and were cooked perfectly. Switched to a standard Old Fashioned with my meal and is was also mixed perfectly. Well done to the Bartender and Kitchen staff and I will be back. -Beard Mann

On second round of drinks our server informed us that our dog (very much a part of the discussion when we called beforehand and checked in in person) wasn't actually allowed. That's fine but let us know up front. And don't further spoil the experience after sitting in the wind and faulty sprinkler system. We were the only ones on the lower patio, and not having food, only drinks. Management was woefully inadequate, slow to respond, and tried to walk away with a flip of her hair after an apology lacking in any substance. As of May 1st 2021, working the Saturday shift, she has long dark hair, bangs, and light blue eyes. Glo can and certainly should do better in filling their management positions and in providing overall positive customer experience, at least trying to end on a good note. Edit: thank you for the bylaw link. It doesn't really touch upon how tying your dog up along a walkway is also against bylaws, which was your suggestion. We asked and you neglected to tell us.

The COVID plan was poorly implemented. None of the wait staff wore masks. I was told that they took a vote and felt that masks weren't necessary. Despite having the usual excellent fare, I will not return nor recommend this restaurant to my friends until they take my COVID risk seriously.

Ok, service is 10/10. Don’t sit at the bar, bartenders are pretty quiet. Servers are incredible. I’ve eaten several things on the menu. DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN WRAPS. It’s ground chicken that taste like dog food. Otherwise this is my favourite patio in Victoria period. Drink menu is super nice. The Bellini is a bit of a miss but otherwise awesome. Fav meat is the tenderloin and the Caesar (add olives)

First time not being here during the summer months; definitely a much different vibe. Either way the restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere. Found the calamari a bit to salty; the Mediterranean pizza was taste; prime rib burger w/ cheese was also good. Had two drinks during happy hour and between two people the bill came just over $50 w/ tip. Summertime vibe much more entertaining for the socialites.

I've visited Glo on a number of occasions and have always been satisfied with everything. This last visit I enjoyed the Beef carpacio which I thought was a bit expensive, but ended up being quite enjoyable and filling. The service was outstanding on this visit. The server was very attentive, polite and professional. Great to see in a somewhat saturated industry in Victoria.

I didn’t have to look beyond the special sheet as the 3 course meal special was great. We had a group of 8 people who get together infrequently. Post dessert, we shifted seats to accommodate conversations for people who sat at the end. This apparently presented a problem when providing accurate billing for a few of us. Better observation by the server or clarifying final drink orders would solved the billing issue. Great food and drink, a little service fine tuning is needed.
