My friend and I recently visited this club while on a trip. The cover charge was very reasonable and so were drink prices. We got there around 11:30 and stayed till nearly closing time. It was packed and fun the whole time. The DJ played lots of popular music that was enjoyable, mostly mixes. The lighting and smoke affects on the dance floor are cool and there are layers to the dance floor so if you don't like the crunch there are other options.It is mostly for the younger generation. I saw very few people older than their 20's so not the place to visit if your older. Overall a fun place. my friend can't wait to go back and it was her favorite part of the whole trip.

Better than the upstairs alternative of Sticky. However, staff aren't trained on proper card payment procedures, as they frequently ask for the customer's card to be handed over.

I had a pretty bad experience here when I booked a VIP table for my birthday, for about 10 people. We were assured VIP entry, coat check, table service etc. but it was off to a rocky start right from the get-go. We waited in the so called "VIP" line up to get in, having already paid beforehand, and waited over 30 minutes in line. The bouncer was extremely chatty and there were a TON of people in front of us, so already a waste of money since the REGULAR line up was half the size. Once inside I was told I needed to track down this girl to get our VIP bracelet so we were allowed into the VIP section, which also took another 30+ minutes. Get to our table finally, and the waitress eventually comes over and says they are short staffed - what I didn't realize was that was code for "you'll see me maybe twice tonight" anywhere. I ordered every single drink I purchased over at the bar with every one else, so again, a complete waste of money. Supposedly you're only supposed to be able to get into the VIP area if you paid for it, but there were a ton of people just walking in using the seats so I don't know why I bothered, again. So by the end of the night we had basically wasted a couple hundred dollars for a VIP experience that included a place to sit down, and someone to hang up our damn coats. Absolutely ridiculous. Never again.

This club has potential, it is a nice venue but there is definitely some racism. The short, blonde bouncer at the door was literally only asking people of color for two pieces of identification. I witnessed it happen to multiple people. I had to walk back to my hotel to get a second piece, despite giving him my Canadian passport. He did not ask my white husband the same, however. I legit was trying to brush it off but it was clearly racism as he did not ask any white people in the line for two pieces of id, however there was a black man in front of me that also got asked for two ids. Coming from Toronto, this behaviour was completely discouraging...I've never been asked for a second piece of id... from bars on King St to all the way in Amsterdam.

Do not leave belongings unattended! Someone stole my wallet and phone out of my purse that was zipped and underneath several coats. They immediately drained my bank account at stores a couple blocks away. When I told the security guard he did not care and told me yeah that's been happening every weekend then continued a conversation with a random customer. Bartender didn't care either and told me to check the hotel lost and found the next day.

This club is hit or miss, if you go with friends its 'okay', but the music is way too loud and its also not that great. On top of that it gets really hot and sweaty because there is no ventilation. At least it's free to UVIC students which is its saving grace.

if you are lonely and having a hard time fitting in the club, i would advice you to bring an etch-A-Sketch. not only it would keep you occupied, you could use it as a tray incase there is a big line in the bar. Met Jamie there, great guy, at the time however he was doing lines of coke with Elon Musk. Or atleast that what he thought he was doing. Jamie, if you are reading this don't worry i have talked to the owner of the club, you can bring your Grower's mango cider next time you visit here. x

My first time ever at Distikt was this passed Saturday night to see the Wailer's! The music was so so fun but the toxic masculinity by bouncers on a power trip set the night off on a bad foot. I decided to not buy drinks and left immediately after the band finished. Bad vibes!

Only popular with people who are barely legally adults. It has an awful atmosphere. Constant groping by drunk, predatory young men and it is not policed at all. It feels really unsafe here, and unwelcoming, even when I was old enough to be interested in going here (and I aged out at like 19 and a half).

The establishment is pretty nice. The bouncers are typically nice and fair going as long as you are a respectful human being. My one grip is the counter people that will try to gouge you for as much as you got to just get in. *be aware*. It unfortunately puts a spin on the experience and makes you on edge for the rest of the night.

Despite the bad reviews and past bad reputation this club has; I think it’s the most fun club we’ve got in Victoria. It’s for younger people, who like to party and get drunk and make friends and spend money. I’ve been clubbing here for a year now and I’ve switched from Upstairs to Distrikt. I’ve never had a bad experience at this club, unless it were to be from the occasional creep but security is always quick to deal with any problems inside the club.

I’ve been to Distrikt a few times now, and honestly, the past few times have been extremely unsettling for me and have really made me reconsider if I ever want to go back. I’ve recognized a pattern of my female friends being targeted, getting their drinks spiked by some of creeps (that seem to frequent the club to leer at the younger women), and then getting kicked out by security for being “too drunk” when clearly they are under the influence of more than just the few drinks we had. This practice of separating girls (or anyone for that matter) from their friends and not even letting them get their coat or anything from coat check, and sending them out on the street on their own in a sketchy area to fend for themselves when they are clearly in need of aid (and have clearly been drugged!! But are treated like it is their own fault) is absolutely appalling. I don’t understand how this practice has been allowed and not considered negligent. Basically if you are going to go to this club, do NOT go alone and always be extremely wary. The people that work there do not care about you and only care about making money. The security is not there to protect you. They do not kick out the creeps, and it is highly unlikely that they are oblivious to the fact people are being drugged right under their noses.

Racism has no place in this beautiful society .Horrible experience at very entrance of district by security guy / bouncer (frog of well) .He abused his position of security multiple times, misbehaved me,offended me, used swearing words against me, he was was very proud of himself as a racist. This poor mentality guy (frog of well) looks like never travelled to any other places of this planet. He is enjoying offending people standing infront of gate of Distrikt. I have heard about lot of cases of racism by security guy in this facility, today I witnessed it. I informed was not drunk not even a single drink, still he continued harassing me and bullying me.Talked with mod she doesnot seem like interested in solving this issue.There have been enormous cases of racism by security guy in this facility and management is aware about this looks like, still management donot bother to resolve it.plz train this guy and discipline him appropriately and immediately else I need to talk with higher authority of city of Victoria or law enforcement agency of this city.
