Absurd drink prices ($9 for a can of blue buck). Awkward coat check prices ($6, so you need to have a larger note or break one to even coat check). Seems at a glance it isn't wheelchair accessible... Unacceptable in 2020. However they put on good shows and its the best small-mid sized concert venue in town.

Great place to dance. Good sound system. Excellent service. Friendly staff at the door. Security that makes you feel secure rather than intimidated. My wife and I had a wonderful night out.

This place sucks. Not very big, shitty layout, overpriced drinks. Avoid if you smoke, you get ID'd every time you go out and have to wait in line again. My girlfriend and I both put out sweaters in her bag. The girl at coat check said we would have to pay for individual coat check even tho both of our sweaters fit in her bag. Been here twice and left early both times. Save your money and time and hit up distikt. Hopefully this place goes tits up.

always have a blast at sugar ! friendly staff, they really treat their customers well! good music, DJ's know how to keep the dance floor alive! and it's usually a really good crowd of people! definitely going back again and again

Not impressed about the layout of this club and the staff is a little rude - I asked for a drink and they didn't even looked at me..- I danced a lot and leave early so, it's not a place that you want to spend all night in.

I'm feeling a bit divided on the space at the moment. As far as an event space it feels well managed, clean, with amazing staff that are there to help. My previous experience is that it is a welcoming space for diverse people. On most fronts I would give them 5 stars no questions asked. Where I am currently feeling conflicted is that at every event I've been to previously they have offered gender neutral washrooms. Last night, however, the washrooms were labeled "men's" and "women's". I am not sure if this is a policy change or if it is something that they change per event. Based on my previous experience at this venue, it feels like a step backwards instead of a step forwards.

Cancelled an event with zero notification to ticket holders. My friend paid for a hotel and transportation only to show up and find out the show was cancelled. No information on ticket refunds….. wow.

Attended Merkules at this venue. It was a sold out show! But plenty of space, awesome bartenders, clean bathrooms and awesome security!

I'm not much a club-goer, but Sugar is an excellent venue for concerts. I'd say it's got the best sound for live music out of all the clubs in town.

Really good as a concert venue! More seating would be possible and nice, and their drink menu isn't exceptional. It's pretty friendly and a very respectful crowd though.

I would not recommend this place for concerts. There are a few stepped floors that helps with the view, but it is loud and cramped. The drinks are reasonably priced and so is the coat check. The staff are friendly if you are friendly with them.

Sugar is an incredible venue, especially for concerts! - Security and staff are both professional and very accommodating, they really do go above and beyond making sure you have a great time while at the club. DJ's know how to keep the dance floor bumping plus awesome sound and light show! 5 out of 5!

Great spot to see a show. Not a bad seat in the house. Plus my lady lost her phone, Dylan and Dean went out of their way to get it back to us on the mainland. That's hospitality!! Thanks guys for a great night!

Great venue for music. Black mark is the Bartender scammed several people on change. Handing out quarters ($0.25) to patrons rather than correct change of a loonie or toonie. Not a good way to "earn tips"!

An absolutely pathetic venue. We went to see Creed Bratton and the venue absolutely ruined the event. Staff allowed the back of the venue to continue to loudly talk even after Creed requested they stop. It absolutely ruined the show for everyone that was paying attention. Also, the sound at this venue is one of the worst concert venues that I've ever been to. You couldn't hear anything from the balcony. Very unimpressed. Will not ever be back.

Awful experience. Workers were super rude, the rules were so strict, and the crowd in general was just awful. Place attracts an aggressive and rude crowd, just like the workers. We couldn't even stay until the main venue came because the DJ was just that TERRIBLE. I love to dance and this is the WORST place to go if you love to dance and like real music/don't want to be treated like crap constantly. Avoid this place at all costs. Such a waste of time and money.
