The view off the balcony was beautiful. The food was excellent. My only complaint was the when entering the restaurant first question was do you have a reservation. We said no, we were recommended by the motel we were staying at. They told us we might not have a spot for you. But all of sudden they had a table inside. What upset me the most was the whole time we were at the restaurant there was a lot of empty tables. I know during covid they have to space tables, but this was a lot of empty seats. I found the manager and the waitress abrupt and not that friendly. That is why the 4 star review. The food was excellent and loved the view.

The food at this restaurant is delicious! The bar downstairs is a great atmosphere! I recommend going to the restaurant, stepping downstairs and having a drink and enjoying the view of the harbor. I do recommend staying far away from the kayaking service. That is the whole reason I only give this place 3 stars. I'd give the restaurant 5 stars and the kayak place 1 star. We basically showed up and were put in a kayak and sent off with no information, no suggested places to go visit, no warnings of the afternoon winds that picked up, no offer to have a skirt for the kayak...nothing. When we kept asking about places to visit the girl got a bit rude and kept saying "welI already told you." We were given no safety info but thank goodness we've both kayaked before. We paddled out to Sand Island (the only place she told us about) and it went well but we were not warned about the afternoon wind and had a scary trip back to the harbor with blowing head winds and rough seas. We took on so much water basically I pumped water out of the boat while my husband paddled. We almost capsized everytime I tried to stop pumping. Only when we got back did we see a bunch of skirts hanging off to the side. We would have definitely appreciated the offer to have those skirts before the trip. My husband and I are strong paddlers and in shape thank goodness or we would have been in a bit of trouble. I'd stay far away from the kayak place and just enjoy the food and dock

Had a terrible experience. The scallops were small and tasteless(sautéed in garlic butter). 8 small scallops for $28. Very overpriced. This was early afternoon and nothing but fries was available, no other form of potato. Very pretty view and server was friendly, but such a disappointment when I waited a year and then flew from Ontario and then drove another 3 hours. For such a terrible meal the manager said he would discount 10%. Really! I wasn’t looking for a free meal, just an edible one. Had to stop at Tim Hortons (sadly)to get a snack. A family type restaurant is not so pretty but the food is good. I can’t even express my disappointment.

I'm from NS, so I'm used to good seafood; but I went to the Fundy with a group who were mostly from away. The patio provided a nice view and the place was very clean. The main menu I found to be lacks nag in variety. If you want seafood, you'll find delicious choices, but if you're looking for something different, a steak is all they offer. Prices are high. Service was very good and server was pleasant. An easy 150.00$ meal for three. But if you're looking just for seafood, Fundy's is very good.

Arrived in town around 7:30 pm. Didnt think we would get a table. Got a prime seat on patio with Barb as our server. Fantastic service. It really is the scallop capital of the world. And the lobster was fantastic. Paired with Nova Scotia wine and it was the best meal on our road trip so far (cod from NFLD is a close 2nd)..

I was there in 2016. The service was great, so was the food and at a reasonable price. It was a quiet time before the main season so I was able to just sit and relax and check out the views. They have a live webcam too so I was able to wave to friends and family back home. In general, Digby was a great place to visit, very peaceful and scenic.

It might have been because it was late and there weren't too many customers, but the server seemed busy with getting the place closed down. The food was great! I had the Scallop and smoked salmon chowder and the spinach, apple, cranberry salad. He had the scallop dinner. The price was reasonable for what We ordered. The view was very nice. The only problem I saw with this place was the staff. Idk if they don’t like their jobs or what the problem is. We placed our orders, our water was never refilled and it was our only drink. Our waitress was scarce most of the time. The restrooms/ washrooms are not out in plain site, You have to ask where they are located, and the girl behind the bar says,” through those doors and you will find it.” Ok! I am not a needy person and I do not ask for much, but how about a smile and be a little friendlier to the people who are keeping you in business. I will not be back and not just because I am a tourist. I will be here for two more weeks and could have eaten here more than once. Yes, we did tip her well but not by choice, the machine switched to French and she was no help in fixing that problem for him so she got a $9.and some change tip. This place has potential, the food was great! Kudos to the chef! I have been from Halifax to digby so far on my trip, I have met only friendly people up to this point. Fix the issue before it becomes a problem for your restaurant because people do read reviews.

First off, this place was open during COVID19. We were able to get seats on the patio, and by chance not another soul in sight on the same level. We sat overlooking the beautiful Digby waterfront looking out onto the Bay of Fundy on a warm, sunny and clear day with a perfect summer breeze. Did I mention today was the first day of summer , and the seatung, weather and company was a perfecr reminder of how important it is to get out and enjoy a meal and some good laughs. We all enjoyed our drinks and entrees. I had the sauted Digby Scallops that were cooked to perfectiom and paired with their delicious crispy coated fries, zingy and tangy in house made coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce, I was not disappointed by the portion size or the quality. Everything I ordered was bang on and my other dinner guests gushed over the pan fried haddock, fish and chips (fresh haddock) and their cheeseburger with fries and cole slaw. They also offer some local brews on tap and hard ciders if you're into craft beer or cider. I can honestly say that our waitress was a total sweetheart and made us laugh (it's the Nova Scotia way) and we all thoroughly enjoyed every bite and that view :) I suggest you get here and eat!!!!

I've been staying in the suites at the Fundy Restaurant regularly for years. The staff are amazing, the food is excellent, the suites are the very best, the view is undescribsble, and the owner is helpful and friendly. Book early if you want to stay because it fills up fast. See high and low tide pictures from the suite ... it changes from one to the other every 6 hours.

We stopped in here for late afternoon/early dinner last May as we were traveling through the area during our 3 month tour of wonderful Canada. We couldn't have been more happy. Our server, Rebecca, was attentive, courteous and friendly. Doris started with a glass of Jost Tidal Bay while I went with a tall cold Pilsner. We shared an order of Digby Bacon Wrapped Scallops then Doris ordered their Creamy Large Shrimp and Scallop Fettucine while I dug into my 1 1/2 pound Steamed Lobster with a side order Caesar Salad. Everything was very well prepared and mouth watering. We didn't have any room for dessert. Our total bill came to $ 124 CAD ($92 USD). We look forward to our return. Simply beautiful here. Amazing pictures and specimens showing Today was a bad day for Larry the Lobster. Those large claws came from a 40 pound lobster estimated to be 163 years old; a lobster as large as a small child! The Best We first found this place in 2016 and they truly have the best lobster dinners. Back again for another round in 2021 and the tradition continues. Great outdoor patio over looking the Digby warf and bay. Staff are wonderful and there is one fellow there who knows more about lobster then anyone on this planet. Was expecting a very good meal of clams and fish but was very disappointed. The clams were something I could of got at the grocery store which isn't saying much, looked like clam strips and the fish was just ok but being in Digby I was really expecting a lot more, the fries were slightly seasoned, which I didn't want, and all stuck together in a bowl, like I said was very disappointed.

Food was bland and unimaginative. Lobster chowder tasted of bread . . . Not much of lobster. Uncharacteristically, I opted to add salt and pepper to provide some flavor. Digby scallops were over-cooked and (again) bland an unimaginative. "Oven roasted" potatoes were actually two boiled red potatoes. My wife had the halibut, which was dry. The most memorable ingredient was the pesto sauce. Seems a shame since they fish for halibut just off the shore. Disappointing.

The staff was super friendly. The cook, Ryan, made creamed lobster for me that was not on the menu and it was incredible, my girlfriend had halibut stuffed with cream lobster that was to die for, a 5 star chef for sure. The manager, Kim, gave us a room upgraded with a patio overlooking the the harbour and the dock with all the fishing boats, just a spectacular view. The room was exceptionally clean and very modern. A friend and I ate here a week before our stay, the food, service and the view was awesome, this is why I decided to bring my girlfriend back to spend the night. I would highly recommend Dockside Suites to anyone that likes a great place to eat and stay.

The view from the deck, overlooking the water and the marina is really lovely. I wanted to try the famous "Digby scallops" so I got the fettuccine. The noodles were too undercooked for me, the scallops very dry/old, the shrimp had the shell on the tail (really messy to de-shell covered by Alfredo sauce). My waitress was very nice.

We came here during our honeymoon. The room was amazing. It's only a couple of months old and has a gorgeous fireplace in front of the king size bed as well as a private balcony overlooking the waterfront. The staff and services are beyond any expectations. Very friendly, helpful and caring. The food was delicious. I'd highly recommend the digby scallops, so tender. We came during the off season so it wasn't very busy but there was still plenty to do.

Had the four “World Famous Digby Scallops” priced at $14.00 ($3.50 per scallop) and asked the waitress to take them back and remove them from our bill. They were the size if a quarter. I have larger scallops from Costco in my freezer at home. The chowder was quite thin. Overall, prices are very high for the quality of food and overall experience.

We paid around $80 for two of us including a shared appetizer and dessert, 1 beer and 2 main courses & tip. The food was EXCELLENT and absolutely DELICIOUS! We had scallop chowder and scallop main courses. They were cooked to perfection and perfectly juicy and soft, not hard like most places overcook them. The waitress seemed a little busy when the rush came in but did a good job of staying on top of things. The view is spectacular, we were on the patio overlooking the rising lowering tide throughout dinner. The glass walls give some protection from the wind, but it can still get cold at night.

While in Digby we stopped at The Fundy Restaurant. I have not eaten there since the former Chef Carl was alive and working there but thought we would give it a try. Margie waited on us and was amazing. She knew the menu inside and out and went above and beyond to ensure they were able to accommodate my diet which I very much appreciated. The Chef even came out to clarify what I was able to have and not have to make sure I was looked after, which I really appreciated. I had the gluten free veggie pasta with gluten free bread which was very tasty. Please not this dish is not quite the norm as they had to substitute a couple of things to accommodate my diet but it was still very good. My 10 year old daughter had fish and chips with sweet potato fries which she raved about and asked me when will be going back again which is a testimony in itself coming from a super picky eater. My wife had the haddock fish burger with baked potato on the side and loved it as well. The atmosphere is second to none in the area, and it is obvious the owner has put a lot of time, money and effort in building this beautiful spot! They also have Koi in a small pond at the front of the restaurant which my daughter loved to watch. We were so excited to be in Digby to have scallops.....only to be very disappointed with this restaurant. We ordered the sampler platter with deep fried clams (flavorless), shrimp were cooked well and flavoured well, and the bacon wrapped scallops were cooked perfect. The dipping sauce were straight from a bottle a store bought container (and if not, very poorly homemade sauces). On to the entrees, scallops were very small and overcooked and unseasoned. The side vegetables ranged from brocolli overcooked to the turnip that was crazy al dentè. The roasted potatoes were poorly executed, russets are not meant to be a roasted potato as they were chalky. In total the bill was $200 and the food was so disappointing. What a poor representation of Digby scallops. The pictures are deceiving.

Since we were visiting friends in Nova Scotia we decided to stay at Dockside Suites overnight to celebrate our Anniversary. Our room was so comfortable with WiFi, 2 television sets and morning tea or coffee. We had a beautiful view from our balcony overlooking the sea at high tide and low tide. There was private parking for guests across the road. We dined on delicious whole steamed lobsters with roast potatoes and vegetables at the attached Fundy Restaurant. We enjoyed their amazing Turtle Cheesecake for dessert. The waitresses were so friendly and they took photos for us so we have photographs to remind us of our special Anniversary dinner. We returned to the Fundy Restaurant for breakfast and I had the most delicious scallop omelette. We will definitely return to Dockside Suites the next time we visit Nova Scotia.

Amazing food and GREAT staff. I wish I would have got the name of the blonde lady that was working because I would have specifically mentioned her. She was friendly, provided great conversation and made you feel so welcome! To the chef, AWESOME quality! I had the baked haddock with creamy dill sauce and sweet peppers, Cesar salad and mashed potatoes. Those potatoes... OMG.. flavour was so incredible and they didnt have the consistency or taste like they were fake potatoes that have sat around all day. Which is usually what you get ordering anywhere else. The pastry that the fish was baked in, cooked to perfection. Golden brown, flaky light, tasty and flavourful are all things that can describe this dish. I am very fussy when it comes to Cesar dressing, so I was a bit iffy to order it but did anyway. It did NOT disappoint. Dressing was so creamy and not that disgusting kraft tangy dressing you get in most places. Also, to whoever made my Pina colada, YUM! This is one of my favorite drinks anywhere I go, but you made this drink like no one else ever has! Not sure what you did, or what you use to make it, but I will be having another one tomorrow (lol). Your devotion to quality is admirable. Even though the steak that my spouse had was quite thin, you still somehow managed to cook it very well and he said the flavor tasted so good! We planned on going to try somewhere else tomorrow, but after this will just most likely come back there to try something different. Thank you!

We arrived late at Dockside Inn and Suites. You have to check in through this restaurant. It was 4 minutes till close and I could see the chef cleaning the grill. My children had not yet eaten dinner. The receptionist, Angel, was so nice and insisted that they ate so I asked what the easiest thing for them to prepare was. They said the fish and chips. We ordered two orders of fish and chips with two extra fish and a large bacon Caesar salad. Angel brought it up to us while we got the kids out of the cold. The food was excellent and not just because we were all hungry. We are from Florida and we were amazed by the size of the fish. It tasted great! My 7 year old is not a fan of Caesar but she said she loved it. Next time we'll dine in. Thanks so much for the great food and hospitality.

The service was slow and there were only two other customers in the entire restaurant. The scallop chowder was their special of the day and it was the blandest, most tasteless chowder I have ever had. I had to add salt and pepper just to have any flavour. It was stock full of large scallops, which many people would love, but I found it over the top. It had nothing else in it. There was barely a potato in it, and the few small chunks of potato there was undercooked, hard, and crunchy to eat. Worst Nova Scotian chowder ever, which shames the rest of the province.

Decided to spend a bit more and eat at a "fine food" restaurant on our vacation , as I thought this place was; by the atmosphere of the lobby and uniformed staff and prices. We ordered the scallops, being in Digby. What we received was laughable, looked like mixed frozen vegetables and the mashed potatoes (the only choice other than pilaf) were dry and tasteless. The scallops were ok, but no better than what you could make from frozen ones bought in a supermarket. Oh yes, we received a bread roll (kind you buy for a dollar a dozen at the grocery store). I actually asked for another, because the amount and quality of the main dish was so lacking Definitely a less than good cook trying to act "fine food" I stopped and laughed during the meal, because I couldn't believe it.

Don't be fooled by the exterior of the building! Unfortunately, no pictures of the "I" suite with Water St. view (others are H & J) on the second floor. Private entrance. Stairs, at least 25 of them, are steep. This room is very luxurious with dark furniture, thoroughly modern with 2 queen beds, pullout couch, huge entrance closet, additional bedding, microwave, bar fridge, tableware, bath shower and two sinks. Very clean! Associated wonderful Fundy gift shop/Fundy restaurant 2 doors down on ground level, where I ate THE best pan-seared Digby scallops in my life!!! And I'm a scallop fanatic. Period.

The restaurant looks pleasant and the balcony has a lovely view. We had the seafood chowder which was mostly warm cream and potato, and very little seafood. It was the poorest seafood chowder we've had on our Nova Scotia holiday. My wife had the lobster fettucini which was not very hot, was mostly fettuccini and very little lobster. I had the haddock in filo .. It was smothered in cream sauce and quite soggy.The veg accompaniment was very sparse and undercooked. We were most disappointed with the meal overall and felt that we were overcharged for what was served. The meal including a drink each came to over 100 dollars. The poor service there meant that for the first time, we did not leave a tip? My advice would be to try elsewhere.

Excellent service, deliciously fresh seafood! We were surprised at how quiet it was for a friday lunch. Prices a tad high but you gotta come for the world famous Digby scallops! I was served a generous portion of fish and chips, and the house made tartar sauce was great! My family and I stopped here, and being famished from the coastal drive we were currently on, you would think any food would be good food. Not the case with this restaurant! First we though, we should order the scallops because they're "world famous" Well for a place that is world famous for their scallops, they sure haven't taken the time to learn how to cook them. Maybe they had a new chef, maybe they were under staffed or maybe they just don't care about the product they serve. $20 for a few scallops you would think that they would have someone proper in the back to make sure they are done correctly. Terrible! , a viewer of the T.V. show Hells kitchen could cook better scallops. When I sent the scallops back because I said my Medicare doesn't cover poising in a sarcastic but these are crap way, the waitress took it upon her self to display the attitude she has been so gracefully working on. Gratuity at this point was greatly deducted. Secondly, the serves was terrible. you would think that for a place that needs tourism to maintain a business through the shoulder seasons that they would be grateful for the folks from out of town. Wrong again! The young lady was to busy fraternising with the locals at the bar to realize we have been seated and awaiting what most folks call "service" Thirdly, the washroom were a flashback from the movie Trainspotting, great movie but not to the point were I was big enough fan to let such filth not disrupt my call to nature. So I thought to myself, "while in Roman" kidding. I did not urinate on the floor like the hundred locals did before me. Lastly, I'm not one to write reviews on places I have visited along my travels,but this one had to be reported before salmonella and a urinary infection take my life. People of the world you have been warned!

Wow this place is amazing,. When you see it from the street it looks totally different when you walk in. It has such a grand view . It has an upstairs deck,a downstairs deck. It's has a dining room and another dinning room with a large bar that has a large dance floor . It also has suites so you can actually stay there. We went for breakfast and dinner, our waitress was so friendly she showed us around . The food was good. Definitely would go again.

Food was so overpriced and very underwhelming. I ordered scallops since we were in Digby and the pictures made my mouth water. I was presented with tiny little flavourless scallops. So deceiving and extremely disappointing. The other dish ordered at the table was their special of the day: lobster tail with chicken and shrimp dumplings. Lobster tail was undercooked and flavourless. Dumplings had a little bit of flavour but were not great. Both dishes came with flavourless vegetables and dry tasteless potatoes. These plus a kids meal and a couple drinks came to $100. Absurdly too much for the low quality of the food. The best thing served were the before dinner biscuits for which we were served one each. We left feeling less than satisfied. The server was friendly and the view was nice. Unfortunately these alone were not enough to save the experience.

Well, for being at THE SCALLOP CAPITOL OF NOVA SCOTIA, it was a big let down. 13$ for 4 of the tiniest bacon wrapped scallops I've ever seen (and I've had bacon wrapped scallops in Tennessee)..Then ordered steaks. Requested medium. Apparently GREY is medium in this place. Got a 1/3 of a piece of corn that was barely warm and chewed like rubber. However, the little red potatoes were edible. I thought it was a Chinese restaurant pretending to be something else. Save your $, eat at home. Service was good, not her fault the food sucked.

They say they are famous for their scallops. Well, it seems they were right. Many scallops have little pieces of sand in them. Not one here. This is a good place to watch the tide come in and out of the Bay of Fundy. The staff was friendly, and there are a couple fun things to look at in the restaurant. Kid friendly!

We had a great meal here in October 2019. We started off with the 3 ways of serving scallops appetizer as Digby is where scallops are famous. It was delicious. We have never eaten scallops so tender as these. My husband had the grilled lobster tail with a skewer of shrimp and scallops which was the special that evening and I had the cod in phyllo pastry. All the food and Nova Scotia wine as well as the peanut butter cheese cake desert were perfectly presented and served. A great place to eat and you can get 10% off if you book the Dockside Suites. The restaurant itself was beautiful , it was a very special experience.
