Just had a delicous roast beef dinner that was melt in your mouth tender with yorkshire pudding and some of the best and creamiest mashed potatoes served with a skewer of fresh vegetables.. All that for the price of a hamburger at the whitespot. $13.95. Washed it down with some nice dark beer. And a coffee which tasted like it was brewed two weeks ago. Ok so the coffee sucked. If that was the only problem I think I will go back again and skip the coffee. So good work Hightide. See you soon.

Service - charming, the whole team made sure that we were cared for. Food - good, very good and enough but not gluttony enough. Atmosphere - not fine dining decor but friendly lounge/pub with tasteful decorations. Music - GREAT! I was so impressed! And the band was local!

So hit and miss, but mostly miss. Servers are inattentive, don't get your order right. The food, depends what you get, some is good, others are really not great. Tough meat, small portions, and all at a high price tag. When they don't get it right, they make it right.

Place started to go downhill before the change from Billy Ds, but I didn't think it would get worse. They were out of a few food items that are not on special on a Saturday at 5:30pm. That was our first reg flag, a properly ran place shouldn't run out of food. Ceasars were the worst any of us have ever had. They tasted like water and a stale clamato, I'm assuming the clam is on tap and that's why they were trash. Food was okay - not very good, not very bad either. Service was sub par. Looks like our long time favourite spot is no more. Overall very disappointing meal and experience, and sad that things have changed so much.

Too bad. Must have been a bad night. Only a few people in the bar yet table was dirty and needed wiping. Two different servers tried to take our order, Skins and Wings were 1/2 price and not worth that... all dried up and tiny. People came in beside us and asked for their table to be wiped too even though no one had been sitting there for an hour and wait staff were leaning on the bar doing nothing. Server gave us our bill and saw me reaching for my wallet, she left and didn't come back. I had to go up to the bar after 10 minutes of waiting while they all chit chatted at the bar. On the plus side... the Hoyne Dark Matter was good and they had the game on multiple TVs.

Second time visiting the newly rebranded High Tide pub and so far it's been very positive. Tried some of the sandwiches and starters and really enjoyed them. Prices seem reasonable and the live music we experienced was a treat we didn't expect. Will definitely be back again.

Had a wonder late lunch at the newly rebranded High Tide Public House yesterday. We enjoyed the sidewalk patio and had a great mix of charcuterie, lettuce wraps and battered mushrooms all washed down with a glass of wine and a pint of local beer. Needless to say, we'll be back.

Looking for a spot in Courtney, we got sucked in by the patio and decent looking menu. What a bad call! The food was the worst we've had in ages, stale bread, packaged salad, tasteless wings. Other than to deliver the food, nobody came by our table to refill our drinks. We drove back to Victoria with stomach aches feeling gross. I really don't get how there are so many good reviews because this place was just plain awful.

I've been a loyal customer of Billy D's and now High Tide for many years. Our Hockey team frequents the Pub on most Wednesdays for Wing Night and they make a great caesar. Their owner has also been a proud sponsor of our Men's commercial hockey team the Golden Eagles for the past few seasons. Happy to call HighTide my neighborhood Pub.

While some might judge the decor as a neighborhood bar it is far more than that. I had one of the best Ceaser salads I have had in a while. Real anchovies in the recipe and you can really taste the quality. Amazing service and I wish I came here during live music. Triple thumbs up.

Absolutely excellent food. Not just your typical pub fair, either! You can often find them serving true English dinners featuring roast, Yorkshire puddings and mashed potatoes. The menu is huge! Overall, a nice and cost environment. They allow minors, but aren't open very late. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

Love this place! Right on the street with a small patio out front. It's always been too warm for patio though. Inside seemed cooler and our server was very nice. I personally loooved the Caesar salad! I ordered the burger with salad and the burger was dry, even with cheese and condiments. I ended up eating the burger without the bun. The salad... looove. The dressing was amazing and just the right amount of garlic (I love garlic). Next time I will order the Caesar salad with chicken. I tried a cocktail, can't remember the name but it was amazing! It was Malibu with blue curcaco. It was delicious!!!

Waitress was great....but service was ridiculously slow, portions were tiny for the extremely high price tags. I'm not a huge portion person either and I was still hungry after scallop and bacon appie and the fisherman wrap. The wrap had one shrimp and a nugent of salmon literally. We used to come when it was Billy Ds and it was always great.....never coming again

Food was terrible. They have changed the name to high tide . Ordered a fish burger and fish was so thin you could hardly find it. Caesar salad was limp and heavy on the dressing. We also ordered a burger which was fine but nothing to rave about. Front few booths were nice but the back tables it was dark and dingy. Nice new ladies bathroom though.

Went once since they reopened. Ordered 19$ nachos and received a single portion microwaved nachos, had a hard time finding the cheese on it. The veggies were raw and uncooked. On the upside, the service, beer and live music was good.

First of all you are a public house not a restaurant. Myself and four others walked in at 5pm on a Friday we observed mostly empty seats all with reserved signs on them.the staff made us feel uncomfortable and not welcome as we looked through the joint looking for an unreserved seat . there were none ,5 people will not be returning .

Great spot for a drink and pub snacks. Dark and romantic, could make a great place for a first date! Used to have an extensive menu of martinis, but now it looks like their drink list is more evolved and includes a bit of something for everyone - good beers, good wines, good cocktails.

My visit was a tale of two extremes. I had the burger and fries, the burger had a really big patty which I didn't understand since it overpowered everything else, but to add to that it was burnt and cooked to a point where there was no juice or moisture and very little sauce, I can't describe what it was like to try and get through it. The fries on the other hand were some of the best I've ever had, perfectly cooked and seasoned. But the burger...it really was that bad. Service was excellent and nice atmosphere

We went here for happy hour while visiting Courtenay. The appies were half price and jugs of beer were $15. They did however run out of wings and everyone in our group ordered wings so some of us had to change our orders. But in the end we were all full and pleased with the food. We came to eat close to closing time which is 8 pm. Surprising for a pub to be closed that early however it was not very busy. One person serving patrons. She was awesome. Food took a little while to come. It was presented very well and tasty however my burger was just a tad too long on the grill. The bun and meat were too crispy on the edges. Prices are $$. But it is in line with others around the area. I do recommend this place.

Went to celebrate Jilli Martinis birthday but encountered very rude treatment by the management. Thats OK as we made up for it by going to the Whistle Stop to hear a great band BIG FUN and had a nice time.

I went here on the ''Name That Tune' night and it was quite enjoyable, albeit I did very bad at it. I cannot say how the beer or cocktails was, as I didn't have any. I had a burger and it was pretty good. A solid top 3 in the burgers I have had in Courtenay. Staff is very involved and friendly, and it's just generally a good vibing place. Would recommend highly that if you want a good place to hang, or if you're from out of gown, to go here.

Recently re-branded as High Tide. I was a fan of Billy D's. The new menu looks delicious and varied, if not overpriced. Ordered the Fish Tacos, 14.95 for two tacos, tasty enough, but nothing special and left me still hungry. The long thin plates they were served on were ill equipped to handle the usual droppings of a taco, paired with the slightly over crisped 'soft' taco shell it culminated in more mess on the table than the tiny plate. My lunch companion and I opted to share a starter of Yam Fries, for 8.00, with a side of garlic mayo for an additional 1.50. Sadly when the yam fries arrived, the portion was rather small, and could have fit in one fist had I chose to grab them all at once. We split them and ate what there was, dipping them in the chipotle mayo we were served despite having been offered and ordering garlic mayo. Service was nice enough, but quite slow- we ended up waiting about 15 to 20 minutes after all our plates were cleared with our waters just waiting for the bill. We tipped 15% and paid just under 50.00 for an order of yam fries, dip, and two orders of tacos. and both left hungry. Along with the overpriced, small portioned, underwhelming food, we had a less than satisfactory dining experience that left me wondering if they were still getting their footing after re-branding, and if I would ever return.

Great service from our server and there was live music - overall a nice ambience but the food was a little disappointing. A plate of nachos had about half dozen nacho chips, very little cheese and lots of garnish. Slightly disappointing and probably will try elsewhere for a pub meal.
