If I could give this place no stars I would. We came in a group of 7 with three toddlers.First impressions where disappointing, smelt like mildew or mold.. sort of like an old basement. We were told by our server that there was a party coming soon and in other words "be fast". Also too our surprize there we were told their were no booster or high chairs and we had three children under 4 this was gunna be a struggle. One of us discovered an old booster seat sitting on top of a shelf which we were given. Once getting the seat it had no lap belt and probably wasnt the safest thing but since we had no choice we used it. Our waitress was kind and friendly and took our drink order which we waited a solid 20 mintues for an additional 10 for a beer. The menu was a good size but was laminated paper held on a clipboard...not sure if the owners are cheap or just lazy. I understand with a group of people there is an expected wait but the wait for our food was ridiculous.. took about an hour since sitting down. Anyone with kids can understand how this is a major struggle. When the food did arrive my burger was horribly overcooked. Ive felt hockey pucks softer than this burger. The bun was stale and it was just a general fail. The fries were okay! Each person that got a burger got the same thing. The kids got grilled cheese which my daughter didnt appear to like but probably ate because she was so hungry. After a wait for our bill the waitress screwed the bills up (expected since their was two families) it took 3 trips and 3 bills to figure it all out. This isnt to bash our waitress as she appeared new so it's understandable and she was very pleasant. All in all this wasnt worth the $53 dollars I spent for slow food that wasnt worth the wait. I will never recommend this place to anyone and we will never return. #gross

I went here for a beer and chicken fingers, I was told that they only had chicken fingers from the kids menu. I asked if I could sit in the corner in the shade, they told me it was reserved but I can sit in the sun. I told them that I will only stay for one beer and no food. They gave me the table in the corner, in the shade. I looked at the reservation time for the table I sat at and the reservation was not for over 90min, I could have had lunch and a beer and be finished before that 90min.

Stopped by this place while passing through Chatham for work. I generally like to try places outside of chain restaurants, if at all possible. My wife and I settled on frendz and was not disappointed. If you wanted standard pub fair, they had it. And if you were feeling something outside of the standard orders, whether it be in the food or drink department, they have that too. The local craft beer selection was well put together, and they didn't have so many on tap that the kegs go stale. The weather wasn't warm enough for the patio, but it was definately a place I would go again to be able to sit outside with some good food, nice pints, or some creative cocktails. Friendly staff, prompt service and good food at competitive price points. Ticks all the right boxes

Our waitress/bartender was very friendly. (I think she is the owner, but not sure.) I had the "Peruvian Picante" cocktail, which I highly recommend. You can tell a lot of care goes in to creating the drink/food menu to be a little different and to set it apart from other standard places. My husband ordered the thai soup and cuban sandwich, both were excellent. I had the Haddock hammocks and sweet potato fries, again, no complaints. Our waitress even asked if i wanted a dipping sauce for the fries which I LOVE because some restaurants are stingy and make you beg for extras, but not this place. We would definitely go back and recommend it to passers-by.

My friend and her husband were treated inexcusably by an off duty staff member. The staff member was belligerent and calling my friend inappropriate names. I used to love going to Frendz but will not be back as their staff cannot treat customers with the respect they deserve. It isn’t a very friendly place. The staff member in question needs immediate termination.

I wanted to enjoy my experience at the Frendz Restaurant and Lounge but unfortunately after todays lunch I will be leaving a 1 star review with no immediate plans to return. I was very excited to see a vegan burger on the menu advertised as beyond meat. After I ordered 3 beyond meat burgers I was brought 3 "Veggie burgers" in which I had to ask the server what brand they were. She kindly went to go check the ingredients for us and not to my surprise told us they were not beyond meat but instead Sol Grillerz (a much cheaper brand ). We said we would try them but both found the overwhelming taste of garlic and texture of the patty to be unappetizing. Neither of us ate our burger beyond a few bites (with the exception of a third who was not vegan and didn't mind as much). During our meal we were swarmed by wasps that had managed to seize our Pina Colada that had only been half consumed. Once our plates were cleared we were presented the check for full price. I was a restaurant manager for 2 years and a server for another 3 on top of that.... I would never have charged a client for something we we're falsely advertising and that they didn't enjoy. No one came to talk to us as to why we were being charged full price despite this experience and sending back our " food ". I truly hope Frendz hears what we are saying and pays more attention to their customers and less to their wallets. If you have any dietary concerns AVOID THIS PLACE!

Great location and beautiful historic building. We went after seeing Kim Mitchell at the Capitol theatre across the street. Good crowd and wonderful band played. Seating is conducive to meeting and chatting with other patrons. Ordered one serving of coconut shrimp and they were tasty. Service was great and bill with shrimp, glass of wine and a beer was $37 plus tip.

It was late afternoon when our party arrived. However, two of our group were informed ten minutes apart that the (same) menu item they had ordered was no longer available. We then watched as members of the band, who were eating before playing, were served the same dishes. Not cool. Since it was early there should have been sufficient food on hand to handle the orders. I should note the restaurant was almost empty. I would give five stars to our server Rebecca...she did a very good job.

Experience was not good for me. I am Vegan. I went with family and all of us ordered what is on Frendz menu "Beyond Meat Burger" which was not true. They gave us one with different brand and let me make it very clear; it is not even close in term of taste. Beyond Meat is top brand and we paid $14 per burger for that. They didn't even apologize or give us discount. We didn't eat whole veggie burger because it is meh. Frendz falsely advertising their vegan option as beyond meat which is full on false.

The Frendz restaurant is known in the area for their unique drinks. Add to that the fact that they have a quality kitchen, and this is yet another great place for a night out in Chatham. It's also very common for people to stop in for drinks just to enjoy the scene.

Ordered a medium rare steak. It was mostly cooked medium well. Sent it back, then the waitress comes out to ask me to go with her. I follow her to the kitchen where my first steak is all cut up to show me it's cooked medium rare. No it's not!!! 3/4 of it is medium well. I expect more then 1/4 of my steak to be cooked properly. Then they tell me how my second steak will be cooked more around the edges then in the middle. It was pretty much the exact same as the first. Yes I ate the second one as all my friends were pretty much done eating. Then when I say to the waitress that it is inappropriate to be dragged back I get a oh well that's the restaurant business. No it's not normal to bring a paying customer back to the kitchen and treat them like they have no clue . Thanks but it's not my first steak. The manager never came out to talk to me. The waitress brought a free dessert that I would never had ordered so it was completely waisted. And I paid full price. I'm completely unimpressed and will never go back after being treated so poorly.

We went on a Saturday evening, ordered the BBQ whiskey burger, and the pulled pork nachos. Food arrived in a very reasonable time, and tasted great! Wait staff was very friendly and attentive, music outside was very nice. Fantastic atmosphere. Loved the belt driven fans. Will be returning often.

Really disappointed. I came from out of town to visit my family. Two are vegans - we chose this venue because Beyond Meat burgers were listed on menu. False advertising - they weren't Beyond Meat, was an inferior competitor's product instead. I'm not vegan - but if I order a Strip Loin steak and I get a Sirloin steak at the same price, I'm gonna feel ripped off. That's how we felt. I actually like the Beyond Meat burgers better than the carnivore variety now, so I too felt disappointed. We also lost over half a cocktail to the wasps - invest in some wasp traps. The waitress did make an effort asking the kitchen what we had been served instead, but my problem came when we were presented with the full bill, no effort at discounted items. Given the circumstances, when the product was not the same quality as the menu listed and clearly two out of three of us were quite unsatisfied with the substitute product, it tells me this place is run by a management that doesn't care at all about ensuring any standard of customer service. Hardly lives up to the name 'Frendz'.

Good menu and super friendly servers. The atmosphere is is welcoming but the tables are very small with tight space in between them.

Great place for lunch! Mark and Brenda always take great care of everyone. The daily soups are off the hook! I asked Mark if you could make a Lobster Bisque one day, two days later he called me to come in for lunch to try the Bisque - was awesome. I have never had a bad meal here in my 25-30 visits.

Servers treat the customers poorly when they are no longer on shift. I will not attend frendz after a heated altercation with my friend whom was innocent. Poor business practice.

Frendz has the best ribs in Chatham-Kent. Anytime they have a rib special, be sure to get it. Their waiters are also excellent.
