We visited this restaurant just looking for somewhere to have a few drinks and chat. We usually visit Irish pubs so we wanted to try something new. We liked the cozy atmosphere and dim lighting for dining. We each ordered a couple drinks and decided to try the food as well. I got the nachos from the appetizer menu, not wanting a lot of food, however was surprised with a massive portion. It tasted great and I ended up taking the rest to go. My fiancé ordered the chicken shwarma and he said it was the best he's ever had so far. Great service as well.

In 2013 I visited this bar while on tour with my buddies band High Waters. They played a show to about 15 people. The food was great, the atmosphere was intimate so it was a pretty good time.

This place was exactly what we were looking for: uncomplicated, no frills, and open at 10 pm. We were greeted right away, the service was friendly and efficient and the selection of local craft beers was small but sufficient. We had the nachos and while they were nothing to write home about, they were above average. The decor was a mix of home style restaurant and tavern and I would go again instead of one of the pricier pretentious bars on Queen.

I enjoyed the music that was bring played here but I wouldn't visit this place unless my friends were playing again. It is a really cute spot but it is really small and the seating set up is a bit odd. That's just my own personal preference though! If you're into that style then enjoy it! It is a really nice and fairly popular spot.

I had actually wanted to go to Cedar’s Eatery, which was recommended by a local colleague as a place that accommodated food allergies. Cedar’s was full, but I was told by a server that the menu for Baba’s Lounge (upstairs) was the same. I'm wondering if the service at Cedar’s is different, however; I’m not sure why this place would be recommended for those with allergies when there was hardly any effort to accommodate. After receiving awesome service and menu modifications at restaurants all weekend, I expected more from Baba’s. I ended up with the garden salad, swapping out two veggies I couldn’t have with cucumber, though it surprised me that they couldn’t find something as common as carrots to also add to the salad. I had pulled chicken added as a protein, and I had thought it would be seasoned with herbs, but it was not. Given the simplicity banality of my meal, I felt it was overpriced. I've seen more robust salads at supermarkets and airport kiosks. If gluten is your ONLY allergy, there are several options here. However, when I recommend restaurants to others from back home traveling to PEI, Baba's will probably not be on the list.

Some of the best music and vibes in PEI. A locals spot, but they welcome visitors with open arms. Cozy place - very intimate when bands are playing. True music fans should check it out, and Baba's does a great job of mixing styles... Can catch anything from metal to jazz depending on the night.

Great music and very attentive service, our bartender was a hoot! I can see why they were voted a top 10 venue. Very intimate setting, probably only 20-30 people could watch comfortably without being crowded but we really liked the folk act they had the night we were there.

This place is a great live music venue.Small but personal and great atmosphere! Tommy at the bar was absolutely amazing. Super helpful, accommodating and hilarious. He took our orders, brought us food & drinks.Made great suggestions and made us laugh. He also ran the bar all night and was awesome all around! Hidden gem with this one. Can't wait to go back! I had the Kafta and it was amazing, hubby had the burger and couldnt finish it was so big(that's a first for him) Best Slang drink ever!!

The chicken schwarma is one of the best in Canada. Definitely the best on the island. Most other things I've had are hit and miss - 4/5 overall, but the schwarma is 5 star for sure. Sweet O is pretty tasty as well.

Baba's Lounge is great for bringing in acts from out of province and supporting local bands...it's a small spot so that has pros and cons. Intimate feel to be a band and see a band but.. low $$ for bands when counting on headcount at the door.
