This happened a few years ago hopefully things changed. The food great but the staff bad bad service. I called for delivery. The order was an hour late overcharged from online. There was a dog in the driver car with the food. When I called the restaurant the person wouldn't give a manger the phone was so rude and not very helpful. Dine in better service

The smoked meats are delicious, especially loved the smoked chicken. If you're not big on sauce, ask for it on the side. The whiskey apples are amazing and we loved the slaw. Could miss the mac n cheese, nothing special. The cornbread is some of the best as was the service.

Talk about a hidden gem. With large chain franchises popping up all over the place, Q BBQ is a one-of-a-kind that knocks it out of the park. Appetizers are fantastic with a wide selection to choose from and a BBQ menu to rival the best. In-house bar has an excellent selection as well and the staff are as friendly as could be. Our cups were never empty. 10/10. Bring the family!

Good was great. Service was great. Fantastic place to get together with good friends for a casual Saturday evening meal. Worth the 35 minute drive to meet up. Portions are large enough that everyone got a second meal from the leftovers.

Ordered from Q BBQ for the first time. The person who took my order over the phone was warm and friendly. The food was ready on time and hot. The server was lovely. The pulled pork sandwich was so moist! The meat was tender and very flavourful. I ordered the lemon potatoes and they were delicious. Would definitely recommend ordering from this restaurant.

Dang! Great assortment of food that's smokey goodness. Good comfort food at reasonable prices. If you like baked beans, these are the BEST. Huge chicken wings, awesome brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken and the ribs. Yes And they even have a killer veggie burger. Go figure. Great place indeed!!

Outstanding food, at a very reasonable price, great quantities and quality. Service was friendly and very good. Enjoyed ourselves immensely. 9 of us, service was prompt without being pushy. Two of us split the sampler platter, 3 meats. I can vouch for the chicken, beef brisket, and meat loaf, all bbq'd. Great corn bread. The full rack of ribs was huge. I could go on, but you've figured out we loved it. We'll be back. (Oh, and they take reservations and are open Sundays)

Ordered five meat platter for takeout. They didn't put the fifth (chicken) in the take out. Sausage was dry and bland. Ribs were over smoked and bitter. Briskets was very tasty. Pulled pork was the clear winner. All the meat was piled into a single take out container. This was kinda of weird. For the sides; corn bread was tasty, maybe a little under cooked, rice was way over cooked and basically a paste, I didn't like the mashed potatoes (thought they were dry, but the rest of the table liked them), and the potatoes gratin were a winner at the table. Overall impressions were disappointing. I would give 4 stars for meeting expectations, 3 stars for an okay place. They would have gotten 3 stars but they missed packing the chicken.

They use cherry and hickory wood as their smoke base to give you a general idea of the base flavor they work with. I'm usually not crazy about pulled pork in general, but theirs is great. They use pineapple chunks to sweeten the coleslaw and to offset the tartness of the vinegar. It works with their flavor of cherry/hickory smoke I guess, however not too many will be fond of it. Still, some would like it. There never seems to be a long wait, if any, for seating and the serving staff is approachable and friendly. They are easily worth the 5 stars and I highly recommend at least trying it once.

Great food and helpful staff. Unfortunatly there was an error with our reservation which resulted in a wait before we could be seated, however the staff were very considerate and honest, working hard to get us seated as soon as possible. We ordered the 5 meat family platter and would highly recommend the ribs, meatloaf, and smoked wings. The sides exceeded expectations, try the mac and cheese, cornbread, and whiskey cinnamon apples especially. We will be returning in the future.

This place is amazing! The pulled pork on a bun was incredible, and the ribs fall right off the bone. A slice of pecan pie really finished off the meal well. We will definitely be going back here on a regular basis.

Solo business traveler from US and found this place through Google maps. It was fantastic! Had the ribs and fried chicken special. Ribs were smoked well and fell of the bone and the chicken was cooked perfectly and juicy on the inside. I was pleasantly surprised. Pecan pie for desert was also excellent. Sat in the bar area and had fantastic service all the way around.

Amazing take out experience from start to finish! Friendly, knowledgeable service over the phone and at pickup, and the food was phenomenal. Pulled pork sandwich (with fried onions and cheese, do it!) with fries (and gravy, do that too!). With a side of onion rings to share with the family (amazing rings). The price was right AND the the containers were biodegradable with a few small clear plastic lids to recycle.

Found Q BBQ at random on a Saturday evening. Wasn't sure what to expect but the place was a great find. I had brisket which just melted in your mouth. Anyone can do pulled pork but brisket takes finesse. Speaking of pulled pork my wife had that and it was tender and juicy and smokey. Prices were reasonable and portions generous. The only reason I knock it a star was the sauce. It was ok in my book but my wife didn't love it. I didn't see another option either. She likes it sweeter and this was a bit tangy. Your mileage will vary of course.

Nice little bar. Great service, friendly staff and the prices are really reasonable. The food is pretty good (maybe some of the best corn bread I've ever had). We had wings and smoked pork chops for dinner on a Saturday night. The wings were nice although not the typical smoked wings we're used to. The pork chops were tasty and the choices of sides were plentiful.

Kitchen is slow for a lunch group of 12 people who ordered ahead. 20 minutes to get salad on the table 40 minutes to get the entree on the table. Not acceptable when everyone has ordered ahead.

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's actually really attractive and welcoming. The food is delicious, the servers were efficient and friendly. We had a great visit, satisfied our BBQ cravings. Reasonable prices as well, especially for what we got. Will be back.

I'll start by saying, I look forward to going back and giving them another shot. I understand they just had renovations and had a lot of new kitchen staff. I'm not sure if there were chef changes as well. We ordered the popcorn shrimp appetizer and 3 meat platter with pulled pork, brisket, and chorizo with Mac and cheese and hushpuppy sides. Everything was just OK. The points that need improvement: the shrimp was overcooked, just like the hushpuppies (see picture)… the chorizo was dry (it was smoked too but still... Dry)… the brisket was chewy - probably wasn't cooked slow enough... the pulled pork lacked a bit of flavor and was kind of dry too. Everything came with the same sauce squirted over it. I'm the kind of BBQ guy that believes the BBQ should be able to stand on its own and let you sauce it at the table - there was no sauce on the table. The Red Velvet cake we had for desert was probably the best part of the meal but I'm not sure if it was house made or not. All in all, I'd go back because I believe they can do better and these kinds of growing pains are typical when going through a reno and having new kitchen staff. The service was pretty good but could use a few pointers in removing empty dishes when bringing out food (or in advance of bringing it out) vs leaving it and forcing the customers to stack plates to make room. Our server was very pleasant and working hard given the circumstances. Hopefully this review helps them tweak things as good BBQ is hard to find this far north.

I usually eat till I'm content, not full. But every time I go here, I eat till I'm stuffed and then keep going because it's that good. Incredible food. Favourite place to go. Great service, selection of drinks, and portion sizes. Just writing this review is making me want to go there right now.

Sat on the outside patio and although was next to the main road, we felt we had a protected place to relax and enjoy our meeeeeeeeat! ????. Pulled pork and chicken were on this plate along with cornbread, garlic smashed taters and a Caeser salad side! Delicious! All of it! We came at an awkward timing between lunch and dinner and waited a little longer for the food but it was worth it and felt authentically fresh! Great service! Was there last night with my better half and we both got the chicken strips. The food was delicious and I would most definitely recommend it! The server we had was amazing. He was so polite and friendly, and thought of everything we’d need before we even thought to ask. Casual environment with upbeat music playing made it very enjoyable to be there. Every time I eat here is an amazing experience. No matter what you order the food is guaranteed to be great and the staff are super welcoming and nice. There's one bartender/server in particular (I'll edit his name in once I remember) that is always awesome. My only complaint would be that their delivery can be a little wonky but they're a local business so it's understandable. You definitely can not get better BBQ anywhere else nearby and it my mission to get everyone I know to try it.

Amazing food, full of flavor. Had the pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw, so yummy! Kids portions were good. Recommend the ribs as well. The corn bread was moist and flavourful. Serve staff were friendly and wait time for our meal was about 15 minutes. Highly recommend a visit to Q's BBQ Public House if you have a hankering for some good BBQ. So happy to have found this restaurant. Keep up the great service folks. Will certainly be going back soon.

Ordered the full rack of ribs. They were great. Also had the cornbread, which was amazing, the Caesar salad and beans. The beans were so-so but everything else tasted really good! Service was friendly. Would go again.

Q BBQ really stays true to its name of BBQ and doesn't shy away from the fact. When you need to satisfy your BBQ cravings; this is the place you go to. The large portions, delicious food, and cheap prices will leave you feeling stuffed. The brisket and pulled pork are absolutely amazing and the ribs were so tender and juicy it fell off the bone. The gravy for their poutine is spot on. My only complaint is with the location. It's quite old and it shows. I'd consider it one of those, "hole in the wall" restaurants, but the food is really good and worth a trip just for that.

Was the absolutely best place i have ever been. Our server was an amazing guy and the food is to die for. They have genius chefs and genius wait staff. If i could give you guys more stars i would. Honestly, if you have never been here before, go. The staff know the menu and can always help you with the mouth watering choices! 10/10

I can remember years back, driving down Dundas and seeing the road sign that 'Oliver's' had a new smoker on site. Eventually this would become the new identity when the location became the 'Q'. Great for meals with carnivores. This became our go to location for social dinners as our group would split a 5 meat platter and sides. Cameras would be brought out to snap a picture of the evidence, because there was never any leftovers. Great value of portions for the $$. The quality of food has never disappointed. Definitely recommend the pork chops (although not an option on the meat platter anymore I believe). They do get busy - so give yourself some extra time around the dinner hour - or call ahead! A local favorite to be sure.

I liked the environment there. In comparison to the smoked house in Kitchener, you can talk to each other. The food is better except for the brisket which is better in the smoked house of Kitchener. They should have a drink menu, not everyone knows what you can provide therefore I had a glass of water. Our order were mixed, the hubby had my side and I had his. The waitress confused my dessert, but brought the right one as soon as she saw the mistake. The portion are less big than the Waterloo smoked house. The corn bread is perfect, and the corn is well done.

Placed an order at 6:17pm, took almost 2 hours to get our food with Skip. Needless to say it was cold, stale and not a good experience at all! I didn’t even bother asking for a refund. Based on this experience this place will need my money to get through... cause we won’t order from the Q anymore .

My wife and I just moved here from Toronto, where i previously worked at many smokehouses as a chef, so, needless to say, i have high expectations. Q delivered. Meats are smoked and seasoned to near perfection, the house bbq sauce is a tangy, sweet, Texas style that accompanied the meats quite nicely. Mac and cheese and baked beans were fantastic too Coleslaw could use some seasoning, and cornbread while generic, was delicious as well. Portions are great for the price point. And the service was grear for takeout. Safe to say im happy to have found a great place for good bbq close to home

This place is a total joke, completely gone down hill in the last two years . In the middle of the day they lock the door and stop taking customers , they close early , they don't have things on stock . They are short staffed , they don't have cooks and the owner clearly doesn't care about what's going on . Please stay clear

We used to love this place. Ordered skip the dishes. Portion sizes very small, some of the meat was so grizzled we couldn’t even eat it. We think unfortunately we might find a new BBQ spot for the future.

Good portions, the meat was cooked well, great sides. Unfortunately the flavor profile was one note. They use the same BBQ sauce for everything. As well they do not give you BBQ to sauce yourself. If you ask for more BBQ sauce they charge you $1.00. It is also a vinegar based sauce, with a very strong vinegar taste.

I am new to Galt and was thrilled to find Q BBQ Public House. Love the Ribs - excellent smokey flavour and huge portion for the cost. Out of town family visited and 5 of us shared the Family Platter (great suggestion by our waiter). My absolute favorites were the smoked meatloaf, baked beans, ribs and cinnamon whisky apples. All was yummy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Nice eating environment. You must try it. I will be back regularly as I cannot get enough of their delectable ribs.

My meal was great, my wife's meal was great. Unfortunately my mom's fish seemed old or wasn't cooked fully, didn't taste quite right. I wish I could say this was the only time the fish didn't come out quite right, but the last time I went there my fish didn't taste quite right either. The BBQ meat is great though.

Was there on Sunday. Place was packed. It looked like we got the last table. We did the all you can eat special which was a great deal. Food was great, service was good. Kitchen was probably a bit slower than normal but to be expected on a special occasion when they were full. Glad they were able to fit us in and will definitely be back!

Service was decent, prices are decent. When this place first opened I would of given a 5 star review. Last 2 times I've been, I've had issues. So I've decided to make a review. Which I never do. Chicken cartilage in the chicken Cesar wrap! Gross! Shows lack of effort on Chef's part. Friend asked for Rare steak sandwich, it came out well done! Did he leave it under the hot lamp for awhile? Incompetence. Lost a customer who truly enjoyed the product!

We trusted the Gotta Eat Here reviews, and have now been here twice. During both of our visits, the staff were friendly and the food was good. It is a little scary to see someone walking across the parking lot with the smoked meat that they cooked in the neighboring home, but that's Kitchener/Cambridge! If you are looking for some delicious comfort food then this is the place to go to in this area. It is a cozy, barn-like atmosphere (with the wooden chairs and tables). I'd love if they had seasonal menu items that they changed the menu with every now and then - just a suggestion. Thank you for the good food.

This is our #1 place to dine in for BBQ in Cambridge. All of the meals we have had in the restaurant have been great. The food is cooked to perfection and service is always friendly and courteous. It's to bad they are back to a take out only format but we will continue to p/u great food at a reasonable price.

I wish I could give no stars. And I wish I could say I had a good experience but I didn’t.. it’s Friday night before 7 and our order was refused to be taken. The LOVELY lady who answers the phone fumbled on her her reasons why they aren’t taking orders anymore. Hard to support local when you don’t even allow people to order. I have zero intention on trying to order again. What a bad taste left in my mouth and I haven’t even tried the food yet...

Really good food! Place was empty when we got there but the food was great. Cornbread was warm, crispy and moist like it was fresh baked and straight out of the oven. Pulled pork sandwich was great, too. The bun tasted just as fresh as the cornbread and was perfectly paired with the pulled pork. Also had the Caesar salad, baked beans, mac and cheese and coleslaw. All were very good as well. Service was fast and pleasant. Would definitely recommend.
