I went to Cafe 13 for the first time on a recommendation from a friend. This place is great! Multiple local brews and unique food (try the chorizo-stuffed, bacon-wrapped dates). Service was very friendly and quick, and the atmosphere was very casual. Would highly recommend, and I will be back in the future!

It was my first time going there and I was really looking forward to it. The inside is very Pub like. Very cool and clean. We went around lunch time and I think they were short staffed because there were only 2 servers looking after both dining room and bar. Asked for a Shirley temple for my son, came back 7up and grenadine. Had to explain to the server what a Shirley temple was. There was a dead and dried up mosquito on the rim of his glass. The kids cheese pizza had very little cheese on it. However my poutine was delicious and had an abundance of cheese. I'll eventually go back to see if I have a better experience.

Went here twice in the last few weeks. Both times the waitress was friendly and asked us if we wanted more beer when we were getting close to finishing it. The first time I had the daily special which was pulled pork taco. It was a little different than I thought it would be, the meat wasn't really pulled that much and little sauce on it. However it was very delicious and I was happy with it. The second time I went I got the Hot Chicken Wings. I found that it was not hot at all, although I really enjoy spicy food so you may find it hot. Also though the temperature of the wings themselves were not that hot which was kind of disappointing. Overall though they tasted good and are good size wings. The menu does have a lot of fancy/expensive food like duck confit. They have a large selection of beer on tap, over 20+ kinds! If your a beer drinker it would be a nice place to go to have a pint. This place is also called 'Thirteen' now not Cafe 13. There is a patio seating, and the inside had a nice decor with different pictures and things on the wall.

I really want to like this place. I'm trying really hard to like it. But every time I go there there's one or two little things that just make me not want to go back. Then I give it some time when I think I'll try it again. And then it happens again. It's really sad too because they have a great beer list with rotating taps, which I love to try. What I don't get is that they charge you $3 to try any of the beers even if you just want a sip of a sample to give it a try. And that's just one of the small things about this place that bugs me. Great beers all the time but it's just missing a great experience.

I have gone to Cafe 13 two times. Both times, the service was extremely slow even though the restaurant seems to always be deserted. There is a very limited menu and next to no vegetarian options. I have a nut allergy, making the walnut veggie burger impossible and leaving hardly anything else to eat. The flatbreads (I've tried the chicken and the veggie ones) are boring, uninspired, and sparse with toppings. There are better places to eat in Cambridge for sure.

I realize this is a place for the locals and I’m sure that Cafe 13 has its share of regulars, but this place was way below expectations tonight. A very limited selection of wines and service at the bar was friendly, but not overly efficient; no quality check done on the food and not offered a second glass of wine. The menus is well presented but the quality was terrible. I had the short rib flat bread and it might have been the worst app I’ve ever had...bland, soggy and tasteless. Will I be going back...I’ll check out other places downtown before I do.

Fantastic menu with ingredients you don’t see on a regular basis. The smokey mushroom appetizer was delicious. The jalapeño burger was fantastic and the toppings really complimented each other. The french fries were fresh and perfectly seasoned with sea salt flakes. The staff was friendly and attentive to all of our needs. The decor was simple and show cased amazing local art work, photographs of Cambridge and stunning stained glass.

A friend and I had delicious sausage pizza and beers in the upstairs lounge this past weekend. I love the decor with the exposed brick and awesome furnishings and the massive central table for big parties! This is a very cool building to have a bar in! We were really there because they have awesome pizzas and a great beer selection, which they did not disappoint on. There is a different vibe between the upstairs and downstairs, with the latter having more of that old timey pub feel that I'm a bit less interested in, but it is nice to have that option.

I spent a great evening on the 2nd floor last night, we were both amazed at the meal we had. The salads were delicious and fresh. Our pizza, we both commented, was one of the best and freshest (if that’s a word) we’ve had. The wine (we both ordered white wines off the menu) was delicious. Jackie was our server and she was sweet, attentive and gave us some great options too.. I can’t wait to go back! NOTE: Local Tap Room is on the 2nd floor and has a different vibe than the main floor which is called Local 13. I thought I would share that because photos of the main floor and 2nd floor are shown in the same album but are 2 different spaces...I felt the 2nd floor was a notch above the main floor in terms of decor and atmosphere.

Haven't had the opportunity to have a pint on the patio since the pandemic started until now. Patio tables were well spaced and the taps were full of all sorts of goodness. I asked my server to recommend 2 darks and they were delicious. Great service and great beer.

The guy with long bear came and said we are not welcome if we only wanted to order coffee and have our own birthday cake. I offered to buy deserts from them too but the same guy said they only care about their business and we are not welcome because we're not gonna spend a lot of money !!! Never seen such an unfriendly and money-oriented cafe in Canada especially when I went to their cafe with my senior mom and dad and he literally didn't let us in

Very disappointed in the upstairs menu. There is basically nothing on it except pizza. Wine was expensive over 10$ a glass for a 6 oz. Our waitress was very pleasant but forgot a few items. This place has very very poor service. My friend and I were waiting for the bill for roughly 20 minutes after speaking with 2 waitresses and even the owner. Once the waitress gave us the bill we had to wait another 10 minutes for the machine to pay dept. Even the food wasn’t amazing. It was very small portions and not filling whatsoever. I do not recommend if you are on a time crunch and or hungry.

A great little place. The food and enviroment are great, the staff are fantastic, and the prices are adequate, albeit slightly on the high side. That being said, the food quality more than makes up for the higher prices. This place is a local favorite. Additionally, they have artwork from local artists hanging on the wall, and a large public lot is right next door, which is a signifigant benefit considering they are located right downtown.

I used to like this place a lot. I love the decor and I loved the feel. The food was hit or miss depending on who was manning the kitchen, but that happens. Now it's a hipster garbage dump where you get "meh" food at "ow my wallet" prices. I'm sure the beer is fine, but I'll never be back.

I had café 13 tonight I found your Cayote take out portions is quite small for the price that I pay compared to most places that I eat downtown over all the food was quite good and the wife found the spaghetti a little bit runny I ordered the chicken and bacon mac & cheese I found it good.I am writing them over all the two because of the portion size and the fact that they use paper lining in the bottom of my meal that wet soggy and went into my food

This is one of my favourite spots! They have some of the absolute best customer service I've experienced in the area - their staff is friendly, extremely attentive without hovering, engaging, genuine, warm, and funny. And their food is EXCELLENT pub fare - every dish I've ordered here so far has been so delicious, flavourful, and satisfying! My top favourite is their fish tacos - they're utterly delicious. And their drink menu is good too.

Was there for lunch Monday April, 24/2012. only 2 wait-staff (1 girl, 1 guy). Both were attentive, polite and personable. We were being served by the young lady and she was awesome. Always looking for ways to make our experience a great one. She was extremely engaging and didnt rush even when we hsd paid the bill. Both were great, but the young lady was outstanding. I can't remember her name, but she uses an iPhone and her mom uses a Samsung. Shes a credit to Cafe 13. Visited again for a birthday party September 15th..... Big shout out to Mark. He was awesome too.

And that was because the Cesar was good. A shame to see this little quaint restaurant go down. My wedding reception was here 14 years ago and we celebrate every year here...no more .. No menus just a place mat for your selections. Thought I was at fish and chips place. The prices are ridicules. We paid for our drinks and left. It looks more like a watering hole to me. The New Royal hotel.

Really enjoyed my visit to Cafe 13! My waitress was so kind and knew exactly what kind of beer my friends would like - she wasn't wrong! She even let us stay almost 15 minutes past close to finish our game of Battle Ships! Haha.

Had the fried chicken dinner entrée and my Mum had the beef dip, both were incredible. The beef was moist even though it was thinly sliced. The chicken was crispy and better than any other fried chicken I’ve had in a while. The server was polite and we managed to find street parking easily. All in all I would not only recommend but I look forward to returning soon to try more items off the menu.

Love this place, I've lived in Cambridge for years and never realized there was this place above Cafe 13, go into the same door as 13 and stairs are just beyond the bar. Views from the windows put you in the heart of Galt, food and local ale make this my new favorite place, wait staff was friendly and plentiful. Reservations recommended for prime time. I will be back.

Lots of craft beer on tap, food is good quality. They try to have an artistic flair and sometimes the menu doesn't spell out exactly what you are getting (beats and goat cheese). Menu is smaller but everyone can usually find something that suits them. They have two menus, one downstairs and one upstairs. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The crowd differs from professional to townies to middle age somewhere in the middle. Lots of parking in the rear, but it's pay parking after the first two hours (I think- make sure you look).

Went to this place for the first time tonight! The food selection all sounded so good it was hard to choose. when I eventually got the classic burger it was better than expected! The waitresses were so sweet and made the place even better. I even lucked out and there was live music playing! Everything was wonderful! I'll be back for sure!

Little on the pricey side but the food is always excellent. Loads of craft beers and even cider on tap if you are into that. Only issue I've ever had is with somewhat slow service as they seem understaffed but the waiters/waitresses are always very friendly and helpful anyways.

Went on a Friday night after work; it was busy but not crowded, we were seated right away. Good, relaxed atmosphere. Great food and service, really enjoyed it. Especially loved the fried cauliflower appetizer. Will be back.

Very loud; running a very weird loud coffee machine, not once but 2 times???? loud music and what sounded like people bowling upstairs above our head. While we were trying to have a nice meal and visit.The food was over priced and mediocre! Our server was more concerned with the two men that came in after we did. The only reason I tipped her was I worked in the service industry and I relied on my tips to live. Will never go back to "Cafe 13".

We did enjoy the atmosphere and the type of food here was good. Our waiter was new, and 100% was trying her best, which doesnt subtract from the star rating --- she did great for her first table! The main thing was, I was still hungry after ordering a poutine, a burger, and swiping some fries from my SO. I am not an overly large person so it was a little disappointing the portion sizes --- It seemed to be enough for my SO but she ordered something completely different from me --- Would go again, just to see if maybe i ordered the wrong sizes for things? Or just the drinks as they are decently priced ????

Nice place to relax for a bite. I love the back stained glass. Try the cauliflower bites ....they're amazing! Veggie burger was tasty but mushy and there should be a vegan bun as it's a veggie burger.....but i was fine without one and would definitely be back. Great service!

Three stars for the three times I had my meal brought to the table. I had a mixed green salad with pear, grape, candied walnuts and goat cheese for 10 bucks, for an extra 6 I ordered it with chicken. The salad was heavy with dressing. The mixed greens were drooping under the weight of the dressing, the chicken was a small little fillet, and the goat cheese was less then a 1/2 tablespoon. Okay. I sent the salad back citing too much dressing, asking for the dressing on the side. A few min later the same salad came back on a smaller plate dressed exactly the same way. I sent that back too, restating dressing on the side. It finally came back with dressing on the side, while my partner was just about done his meal (three chicken fillets breaded with sauce on mashed potatoes and corn for 26 dollars. He enjoyed it very much). The salad dressed properly, with a more reasonable amount of goat cheese and walnuts was great. My only remaining complaint was 6 dollars for about 6 bites of chicken, but whatever...The collingwood pilsner on tap was good and the Korean bbq beer battered cauliflower we had as app was great.

Clean looking restaurant/pub that will likely have whatever you’re looking for (booze wise, that is). The menu options are good but the food we got was bland (Sriracha/honey wings and Caesar salad). I was pleased with their Covid-19 protocols, like wearing masks and asking all patrons to sign in for contact tracing. Although we couldn’t see our waitress’ mouth (as it’s covered by a mask), it was obvious that she was grumpy - and that’s not what I’m looking for in a server... Bring a welcoming smile ???? or GO HOME! ????????

The first time we went to the taproom we were very impressed with the pizza and service. Today not so much, we went simple with a pepperoni pizza... pretty sure it was a frozen pizza. Compared to the sausage pizza we had before this was a serious downgrade, also our server was almost inaudible when asking for drinks and didn't seem too interested in us.

We rented the local tap room. Communication was unclear with management. The food was late to arrive and people had to wait over 10-15 minutes just to order each of their drinks at the bar. It was a Tuesday night and even though we booked the room months in advance they were extremely unprepared.Many times the bartender washed dishes instead of serving guests.

First time there, not a pleasant experience. The straws for the drink was too short and sunk inside the drink, when asked for a longer straw, the waitress( Sarah?) replied harshly that they were out of stock of longer straws while we all see my friend has a long straw in her cup. So we asked a guy waiter, he kindly went to look and fetched some long straws. I ordered pasta and was given a soup spoon to eat it. I did not bother to ask for a fork because did not want to deal with the waitress and ruin my friend’s party. In general, I felt a nice restaurant with good cookings but having an unfriendly, uncaring and unprofessional waitress is just a pity.

My friend and I enjoyed a great meal here for lunch. Each of us had a caesar salad and fish and chips. The salad was loaded with fresh romaine, bacon and croutons, and the fish was perfectly prepared. The servers were pleasant and efficient, and our whole experience was great. My friend and I enjoy lunch about once a month and we'll be sure to make a return trip in the near future.
