Cozy pub with s friendly atmosphere, good food (I have yet to try something that I haven't at least liked... curry fries come close as the get soggy quickly, but I was also talking a lot so... ????). Tea, pop, hard cider, beer, etc. is available, but no mulled cider or wine even during the winter holidays ???? Free street parking, 2 hour limit as per normal Cambridge hours. There's live music throughout the week, but you'll have to check their calendar to see who is playing when. It's quite loud when there's a bunch of people inside, band or not. Also, they have the TV trivia games.

The 3 little Yorkies are far from little. The plate is heaped. The quality is second to none. Took a bit to get the food, but one bite I knew it was quality. Tanya is a great waitress/barmaid. Drinks came fast. This is definitely a place worth the stop.

Service was great. Very friendly and knowledgeable. My only concern was that when I asked for no cheese on my meal, no one paid attention to the ranch (milk based) dressing on the food I ordered. It was not on the menu, so there was no way for me to know that even without the cheese, my plate would still have dairy on it.

Good food and a nice atmosphere. Can get a bit noisy when it's busy but overall a nice place for a meal. Usually order the fish and chips and they do a great job of that. The batter is different from the usual British style but it's nice and thin and not greasy at all. They have it on special on Thursday nights.

If you're in the mood to have good drinks, food and conversation this is definitely the place. If you're not in a conversation mood there's darts and trivia. The drinks are reasonably priced and if you want to have a great cocktail try the Moscow mule: ginger beer and vodka. Deliciousness! They are the only place that I know of in Cambridge that serves this drink in its proper receptacle: a copper mug. I really appreciated that.

Good food, I had the original poutine and wings with honey garlic. The poutine was great, but had too much gravy for my liking. The wings are top notch, probably the best wings in Preston. Service was amazing, always checking in and very polite. The decor was okay, and since it's near Halloween they have some dollar store items hanging around. 4/5 for great food and service, but mediocre decor.

I had my second visit here Christmas Past, 2018. Sat at the bar and had my fish and chips and the place was packed to the roof. I cannot recall the name of the female bartender at this time but she was incredible and good looking as well. She made sure my glass was never empty. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, something I have not done in years. I had conversations with several people. I drive by the Fiddle every day and now I know what I was missing. Next Christmas and before, I plan on coming back as I live just down the street. A great atmosphere with a lot of regulars attending. I think a single man could find the woman of his dreams here. Wonderful staff and very hard working.

Typical small town pub, nothing stands out as exceptional, but the food is good, can get very busy on friday and saturday nights and the wait for drinks can take a few extra minutes. The only downfall is the area where the live music is, well the bathrooms are behind it and sometimes after a few drinks you worry about tripping over a guitar cord or mic stand on tour way to a very undersized bathroom.

My boyfriend and I are in love with this restaurant. We come here no matter what food we are craving, and have never been disappointed. We would both highly recommend the curry chicken primevera. The portion sizes are incredible (you will definitely have left overs) and the staff are all friendly. Great overall experience every time.

As long as V is cooking you will have excellent quality meals for a little higher than average prices but we'll worth it, waitresses are great, the size of the pub is a little tight for comfort but thats what you get with a pub experience. For dinner last night, I had the calamari and shrimp, hubby had the fish and chips. Today he said it was probably the best he'd ever had. I was finishing my leftovers and planning the next visit. Excellent food, and our server was great. Not annoyingly attentive, (hanging over your shoulder and asking questions when your mouth is full), but when I looked around to ask a question, she was right there. I may become a regular.

The best thing about this place was how it looked on the outside. The inside was lack lustre. The food and bar menu was a hodgepodge and had more Greek options than English pub food. Food was ok made but tasted like a person who didn’t know anything about cooking made it. The WORST shepherds pie I have ever had. Service was poor. I wanted to ask the manager to get us someone that cared about waiting tables. Needless to say the 4 of us were extremely disappointed.

We had 40 Creek wings and honey garlic. They were excellent although overcooked. They are the reason for the 2 stars. Aslo had bangers and mash- mash potatoes luke warm, peas waaay ovwrcooked and bangers were average at best. I jad the pesto club sandwich. Not so bueno. Greasy, lacking flavor ,and the side of gravy utterly unedable. I love salty but woh! Diet coke was lacking syrup. I feel bad but it seemed the waitress had an issue with anything we brough up and didn't apologize , was not friendly until she gave us the bill. Will not go back.

Went for a late dinner with friends. Get the big nachos! You wont be disappointed. Also the pierogies bread. Also amazing! Waitress was friendly and informative. Did a great job with our table. Only hang up was my friend asked for a shot of tequila twice and she still brought southern comfort. Other then that minor hiccup it was flawless! Highly recommend for a late night pub craving.

Preston is a much better place with The Fiddle and Firkin. Comprehensive selection of beer, excellent food, friendly staff, casual atmosphere... I, for one, hopes this place lasts a long, long time. The food is worth mentioning again - so good and right there on King Street - no need to go to the hellscape that is Hespeler Road; won't find anything better in my experience.

Firkin is one of THE places to go to see local live bands and entertainment. LOADS of craft beer choices and a cosy atmosphere.

First review. I placed an order through an unaffiliated delivery service called Doordash. The driver was stuck so I called the restaurant to see if the food would be cold. Before I could get a word out the woman, tonya, started berating me for sending a driver to pick up food. All she needed to do was explain the situation. Instead she scoffed and belittled until I asked to speak to the manager. The manager was more helpful and agreed to speak to the lady. Whether or not the food was sitting out or not is nigh the issue. The issue is simply how perplexing Tonyas demeanor was with a customer who would have gladly reordered through the restaurant and paid double for the inconcenience had it not been for a morsel of respect. Awesome experience! arrived 1045pm to great twosome guitarists...just right volume for conversation and appreciating the lyrics.Late night menu items ..chicken fingers, plum sauce and fries...hot and crispy.happy, mixed crowd.The place is decorated for Halloween...love the ceiling webs! 5 stars for this Saturday night venue.Kudos alround. Chicken pesto sandwich + side greek salad for 17.50. I've had this order many times and it's spot on every single time. The side salad is a full salad if you order it to go. Great taste, fresh ingredients and the best value of this order is the salad at 4.50. anywhere else will charge you double that. And the service is great. Keep it up fiddle and firken.

Just a follow up on a review from a mary Watson! Seriously inside of of pub is top notch for preston, staff are above top notch, food is and has always been above any other restaurant in the area, as for greek style mabye thats how you like it up your alley but definitely not on the menu at my local.
