We were visiting from out of town, went here to watch a friend perform which was great. However I'd have to say for a gay bar it wasn't very friendly and is super outdated. The DJ played music from early 2000's only. No updated music and the mixes were very bad. It would go from an upbeat 2001 song to a downbeat 2000 one hit wonder type song. I'm all for playing old music but seriously there are some better songs from that era that would have had the dancefloor dancing. We went out to the door person to ask if we could put our drinks there while we went out and smoked, I never seen a security guard move so fast and literally yanked the beer bottles out of our hands. We weren't even outside or up the stairs we were literally at the main bottom door asking a question. Unless you're a local and well known to one of the owners don't even try getting around the edge of the bar to get a beer. back to the line that is forming on the other side for "non-regulars" One of the owners has his image on every single poster for upcoming events. We found that a bit odd. Because it's the only gay bar in Victoria, I gave it 2 stars. But I wouldn't return again unless I had a friend performing and was there to support. But I would come right before show and leave directly after.

Paparazzi, is a diamond in the rough. Being Victoria's only prominent, gay establishment, it has a lot to offer but you need to be open minded. Victoria is not Miami, or LA - it is an older cultured environment. There is history in Victoria, and it carries down the flight of stairs into a warm embracing nightclub. Don't go there looking to cause problems, or expect to have an all night rager. The venue and people (of Victoria) are calm, friendly and inviting. It's a place to be free - of judgment and expectation. Have an open mind, to meet new people - talk with locals and enjoy a beer. Have Fun!

The only place I've felt truly safe going dancing in Victoria. The owner and employees are very nice people! It seems to draw in a really varied crowd, to whom it is very welcoming, which is a nice change of pace from other clubs in Victoria.

Overpriced drinks I must say, it's difficult to justify patronizing this establishment when they simply gouge their patrons on drinks. A perfect example was the evening of February 11th: The bar had a drink special of $4 shots yet a single vodka/soda in a short glass was $6.50. We each ordered a single vodka/soda - $13.00 for two small drinks. I don't understand how so many people say the place has been renovated recently when it looks so outdated and drab. I'm happy there still exists a place for the LGBTQ community in an age where technology has killed the bar scene, but it will never be my first choice. I prefer to go across the street to Saint Frank's where there is a good selection of drinks to choose from, a beautiful room with an interesting mix (gay and straight)of patrons and some good food choices.

I have visited this bar three times, every time hoping it was just an off night for them, and every time the experience has been worse. The staff were unbelievably rude, I am guessing the owner must have deep pockets and not require the place to turn a profit, as No business could be run so poorly and survive over a week.

If you’ve been there you know why it’s two stars. One thing I don’t get is why do all the advertisements feature a 75year old man and woman full of plastic surgery??? Why not have normal younger models, the club doesn’t otherwise seemed aimed at elderly patrons.

This is the only gay bar left in Victoria city. And more and more straight people are going there as well. It's very slow during week days. On weekends after 11pm, there usually are some nice young crowds showing there on the dance floor. The night club sometimes throw very interesting queer events worth going, which usually are hosted by the owner's son (FTM) and daughter.

It's too bad this is the only gay bar in Victoria. Obviously the owner doesn't need to make a profit from this establishment or simply doesn't know how to operate a nightclub. This place is always empty and for good reason- Rude staff, badly in need of a renovation, terrible music, dirty bathrooms, just not a fun place to be at all. They should just turn it into a bingo hall or something. It's so obvious by reading the "5" star reviews that they are fake- "Wow", "Fun"- lol. Also, everywhere in Victoria is a safe place for the LGBTQ community- seriously come out from under your rock if you think otherwise.

You see everything at the Paparazzi, & have been coming here for 20 years under 3 different owners. This is a safe place for anyone in the LGBT community & their straight friends, as there are very few incidents here. I know a lot of locals who love this place & the music!

This club is a disappointment. Some of the staff is rude, the music is stale, and the drinks pricey. As the only official gay club in Victoria right now, I've tried to give the club numerous chances. From the looks of it, a lot of people agree with me as the place is more than likely empty. I've started going to so-called straight clubs, and to my surprise way cooler and there are guys dancing together! Now I know where the cool gays go.

Not welcoming at all. A group of us went there and then I waited at the bar for 40 minutes waiting for a drink as the man went to everyone else around me, then eventually went to me after I complained. Then they played fun music for a bit until the fire alarm went off, which I totally understand is not their fault, but as my friend was saying to a security guard, we just bought a drink and he was asking when we would be allowed back in, the security guy literally pushed him over and over and just said "forget it, if the bar burns down I'll give you $5". He was very forceful and violent. The security guards were laughing together the whole time so we know it wasn't a serious situation. I have been there a couple of times and I will never go back.
