Great pub for watching the game. Went here as a second option as the other more popular bars in the area were full for watching the Raps game. We thankfully were able to find this pub nearby and luckily there many table to sit at. I went here with my girlfriend and we got good seats to watch the game. The food was good too. We ordered calamari, nachos w/ beef and fish & chips. The calamari was good and crisp, the nachos were good too as well as the fish. The service could have been better as It seemed like there was only 1 server working the floor from what we saw and getting our food took some time. Overall I'd recommend this place for decent food or if other places are too busy to seat you for the game.

Their WiFi password is frigate1. I went here on a whim when looking for an evening out with friends. It has recently been renovated and reopened under new management. Our waitress was amazing and incredibly friendly and the food was great! I'm a little sad that they didn't have more selection of actual European beers given their status as a British pub, but all in all a great place to spend an evening. They have pool and darts available to play.

Food and drinks were very good, along with the staff. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the clientele and the atmosphere, it was terrible! We went on a Saturday night, the place was more than half empty and the music was terrible. Maybe it was an off night but it seemed like the theme was D-bags and skanks night. Other than having a pool table and dart board, it really didn't seem like a pub!

Suuuper oily shrimp and calamari. Lava cake had a weird after taste, the ice cream that came with it just tasted cheap. Caesar salad was small for $9, but it was good. The saving grace was the haddock - would recommend. Overall the restaurant was expensive with more misses than hits. But I'd probably buy the haddock again.

Keeps with the franchise model for atmosphere and service, as well as food and drink. Place is starting to get a little run down from last renovation and brand change. Night (after 10:30pm) crowd were a on the uncontrollable side. Hold on to your wallet & phone or else they will get pocketed. (Saturday night)

Great atmosphere and place to watch the game. A wide menu and great flavours to enjoy along with the game and friends. Pool tables and darts if you fancy a game of your own! Will be going back.

The servers we're nice & friendly & eager to help & well to be of service ! The food though was ok.. ish .. BUT the bathrooms for example were... ummmm pretty icky !! As a lady you learn to hover in public restrooms (if you have any common sense that is) however whaddya do when you're scared to touch the door handle or use the sink that's supposed to help you get cleaner & all that you can think of is... did someone use the sink as the toilet ???? Alas this just scares me.. cause if you think on it.. their keeping it up for the public .. soooooo what can't the public see ¿¿¿¿¿¿

Pub has been redone on the inside which has a nice feel to it, the sections of table, bar, and pool tables are separated nicely, but the food is absolutely horrendous. We had to karate chop a friend's fish from his fish and chips for it to crack open. It was also the size of a playing card. Go for booze and pool, not food.

This has quickly become my new favorite bar in Brampton. I never went prior to their recent renovations, but I'm told that it has changed a LOT. As for now, they have: great specials, a fun atmosphere, pool tables, dart boards, clean bathrooms, surprisingly good food, and friendly staff. Nice calm bar/dinner spot most of the week but can get somewhat wild on Friday/Saturday nights. It's basically everything I could ever want in a neighborhood bar. But what really keeps me and my friends coming back is that they have the best service. Especially Shanna, who is bubbly, unique, knows the menu inside and out, and never fails to bring the party up a notch! She's legit the best server I've ever encountered.

Friendly staff, good music, and a great atmosphere. Wednesdays are their unlimited billiards on their 2 arcade pool tables. They have a great burger called the firkin burger, highly recommend. You can also get a great tasting beef gravy for your fries. Would definitely come back!

We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we went to this fine place which friends recommended to us. We passed a beautiful time there with first-rate food and a professional stuff and a distinguished chef. We added this venue in our list and we shall certainly return very soon. We deeply recommend.

Thank goodness this restaurant has some really great front & back of the house staff, it's desperately in need of thourghou cleaning & then maybe do it again !! I've worked for bars like to in my (cough cough...???? younger year's..LOL) YET it's true & just is what it is.. Obviously whomever owns this establishment has either left it to someone else to keep er runnin.. OR they've just said.. screw it , whadda I care.. I bet it was fun & good once & could be again.. the Frigate is an alright place though not my favorite place to go. the layout is awkward and get pretty crowded near the bar and trying to find a spot to enjoy you're drink is even tougher. the food is delicious and the service was spot on so no complaints there.

Short Story: Cook purposefully threw my food to the ground. Full story: Went to grab a quick bite before my family left for the airport. We informed the waitress we were tight on time. About 5 customers were seated at the bar but we (also a group of 5) were the only ones there for lunch. My family made sure to order what seemed to be the simplest and quickest thing to prepare: soup. I ordered a bean burger, confirming first it wouldn't take very long to prepare (no meat, less cooking time). Even if it did take longer than the soup, it would have been okay as I myself did not need to be at the airport. After a half an hour (since we placed our orders), we are very antsy as the food has not come out yet. Even at busy restaurants, with full entrees ordered, the food often doesn't take more than 30 minutes. My family is very anxious about how tight we have become on time and kindly asked the waitress if we could cancel the soup, pack the veggie burger to go and we would still pay the full bill (soups and burger). We did not hold it against the restaurant, we realized things unfortunately didnt pan out. We were asked if we wanted the soup packed up but that wasn't an option as soup isn't a car friendly meal so we kindly declined. We just wanted to pack up the burger and pay the full bill. Well the cook then threw a temper tantrum and threw ALL of the food he had prepared to the ground. This was undoubtedly inappropriate and unprofessional. I have worked as a chef prep and realize cooks have a very stressful job, but a professional cook would not struggle to manage 4 soup orders nor should this completely inhibit their emotional processing. The waitress herself was very professional. She calmly informed us of the situation and removed my burger from the bill. My family still paid for the soups, and we all left the restaurant shocked and hungry.

We never got in the door. Some drunk dude challenging is at pool. Clearly over his limit and no Security to keep him in line . We Decided not to go in. Even though we heard the Food was amazing.. Maybe if the smoking wasn't at the door!!

Attended a paint night event at this restaurant. I've driven by yet never stopped in thinking it was more of a bar type establishment. I had my two daughters along with me. We came for appetizers beforehand, the food was excellent andour server was great. She had our drinks refilled before we even had to ask. We will definitely return

The staff is always great and friendly. Usually not too many people and the food is fantastic! They also bring in some great local djs for events and on weekends. Definitely suggest if you like to play pool, have good food with good atmosphere.

Used to frequent this place when I lived in brampton, wish they would set up shop in the milton area. Food is delicious, drink prices are reasonable, house brew is very good and priced well for the amount. Plenty of spirit options. Clean place with a pleasant atmosphere. Bar tenders are very nice and are will to have a conversation. They take the time to learn your name. Give it a shot!

They have a lovely patio to sit on. They have a wide variety of food options available. They have a bootleg whisky barrel aged cider that's delicious. Only giving 4 stars cause the bathrooms looked rather neglected. Their take out bags are funny and well thought out. Definitely pub styled with great food.

Ordered Meryl’s Seven Deadly wings and was excited for the challenge. These wings are barely spicy at all. What a huge disappointment, change back to your old ghost pepper wings. Those were really hot and good !

After 2 visits, we found that this establishment was very good, as the food was just fine, and the service was friendly. Then we found that the 3rd visit was a bit short-coming, basically because of the service. Our food-server was, as we say, "dressed for success". We were greeted within 8 minutes of arrival (after seating ourselves), ordered our drinks and had them delivered in a timely manner. Within 5 minutes we had a return visit to take our order. After 15 minutes we received our order (food was okay). I will skip to the end, as we did not receive another single visit from our food-server until I had to flag someone down to get a take-home container and ask for our check. When she arrived with the check, I did not hear any query of how good our experience was or how good the food was. I really wanted to ask if the other two tables she had visited at least 5 times during our stay had a good experience, but I did not. Bottom line here and I'm sure anywhere else is... Service does matter! Even one "check-in" from our server would have meant so much more than being totally ignored. Would I recommend this place? Yes... just be careful who serves you :)

I am now leaving the bar as I write this review. My husband and I went here to watch the NBA game 5 finals. As we arrived the waitress told us to sit anywhere available. We sat close to the entrance and hostess station. We watched the entire game and was never served by a waitress. My husband went to bar to get us drinks. We were never even offered a menu. I know it was an NBA finals but the place wasn't at capacity. I gave 2 stars because I've been there before and it's a nice place but this experience was terrible

Great service, pub crowd, updated interior.. I personally like somewhere with a dance floor and drink specials :D a live band would definitely be an upgrade! I have never had food here though so I can't comment. Worth the visit for going out somewhere in Brampton.

Really delicious food and a friendly waitress combined to make for a great meal. The shepherds pie had a spice that, while not overpowering, did take away from the authentic British taste, but if you find British food bland you'll probably welcome this addition.

Visited the Frigate on Friday for a party. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Regulars sat at the bar and some people came in for what I assume is their usual Friday night dinner. There is a good variety of beers. The staff checked often, cleared tables quickly and happily answered any questions. Everybody who ordered food was very happy and the portions were large. The sauce with the pretzels was a particular hit. Covid precautions are followed at all times.

Larry Isaacs of the Firkin Group of Pubs said today on CP24 that he has no appetite for ensuring his guests and staff show a vaccine certificate...not worth dying or killing your kids for a pint...wonder if they're equally uncommitted to any other public health and safety measures in the kitchen?
