We had a team building event at Onyxx and we had an amazing time. We were situated at the pool table and our server was very attending to our food and drink requests. The food was yummy (wraps, nachos, wings, and shrimp), all basic pub fare but I have to say that the mountain of nachos were super tasty! The shrimp was a little too spicy for my liking but my colleagues had nothing but good things to say about them. We went there on a Tuesday and it wasn't full and crowded... Just right for the amount of people to make it lively when the sports teams playing on the multiple TVs score a goal. 10/10 would come back with my coworkers for drinks and light meals.

It was my first time visiting Onyxx. I enjoyed the nachos and oxtail poutine. The poutine could have had a bit more gravey but was good. My biggest compaint is the volume of the televisions and the music. I understand that this is a sports bar but it was very difficult to hold a conversation due to how loud it was. It had potential! I would have given it a five star. This place was recommend to me by a coworker who lives out in Brampton. It just so happens to be my wife's Birthday and I wanted to surprise her with someplace different. Now we commuted 40 minutes from Markham via the 407. Unfortunately I made the mistake of asking my wife not to eat. I told her we were just going to a Sports Bar so don't worry about getting dolled up. So off we went. I really didn't go to this place with any expectations, just an open mind. Upon arrival I liked the layout. It was spacious with a lot of tables and TV screen. Perfect ????, check. As you walk through the door there isn't any one seating you, okay a little different. The wife wanted a table near a window so we could imitate a romantic setting lol. We were tucked away in a corner near the pool table. Now our table was a little too high for the chairs we were sitting in. Now hold on if you are a fast reader you have already formulated an opinion but this is not that story. Here come the meet and potatoes. Now our server was working a large group on the opposite side of the place. I'll leave her name out. There was another server close to us which I thought would have made more sense if we were served by her but whatever it's their show I'm just the audience. Our server disappear for 25 minutes so I got up to asked at the bar if someone could take our order. Now when I got to the table I had texted my friend and asked him for any recommendations of different dishes to order so that's how I started paying attention to the time. Our server almost made a recovery by suggesting a drink for my wife to try and a certain dish for me to try. She returned with the drink for my wife to try however she lost track of the time and unfortunately forgot about us again. I canceled my main meal at the 30 min wait time. I texted and asked my friend if this was the norm. Unfortunately he agreed that the food was good but the service was lousy. I wish he had mentioned that part so I hadn't wasted a memorable evening with my wife. My wife didn't like the drink she suggested but I did, so I wanted to order something else for her seeing it was her birthday and not mine. So if don't mind waiting for your food and have an amazing tolerance for lousy service then make this your next time waster spot. Sorry for the novel but I wanted to be as honest as possible.

I really wanted to like this. First, I don't blame the servers because they are overworked. Why do you only have 2 servers for a whole resturant on a Saturday night. 2nd, food took damn near forever to arrive. More thsn 30 minutes for sure. The time I waited there I could've went to another well known restaurant and had my entire meal and paid the bill. Lastly, why are the portions so small. I've ordered plenty of chicken and waffles. And I have never seen someone serve half a waffle. Like are you serious. The chicken was good which is why made it a 2 star instead of 1. But Chile, I will not be coming back. My husband and I have been here 3 times now, and we have not been let down. Don't let the quiet atmosphere fool you...the food is amazing here, the drinks are a good price, and the staff are super friendly and aim to please. We got to meet the owner, who was wonderful and humble. The place is extremely clean and thoughtfully laid out. Try the pepper shrimp, jerk chicken, and cheesecakes! The atmosphere was really nice; clean, spacious and great music. Server was really nice and informative. (I wish I could remember her name but she was blonde and vegan). Food came promptly and was good, especially the dragon stout bbq wings. The oxtail poutine could have a more chunks of oxtail in it since the description says "chunks." I more so got a few shreds. But overall I'd go back!

This was the only spot in the area that was open past 9:00pm on a random Wednesday evening. We were pretty hungry after a night of working late so we ordered a bunch of apps. Wings are really good here with some interesting sauces. We tried the Dragon Stout BBQ sauce (which is one of their famous ones) and Honey Garlic. Both were delicious. We also got the nachos (which is a huge dish by the way) and the Classic Poutine. Not the healthiest dinner especially late at night but it was certainly all really delicious.

By the time the last person got their food, the first 3 had finished their meal a while ago. They definitely need to get their kitchen in order. Food was pretty good. I enjoyed my pasta alfredo, my wife thought the jerk chicken with ok. It was a busy night (Leafs&Raptors both playing playoff games). Service was friendly but slow. I was a little upset (as were a lot of others) when half was thru the Leaf game the majority of the screens (and there are a lot of them) suddenly switched to 70% showing the Raptor game, 25% Leaf and 5% TFC. Noticed a few ppl got up and left when this happened. They really should cater to their customers better than that. I thought the decor was ok, my wife found the lighting bothered her eyes. I'd go back - she said she wouldn't.

My Aunt and I have been here every weekend since July 24th and we LOVE it! We usually go in the afternoon and it's pretty quiet, but we don't mind. The atmosphere is amazing! There are TV's everywhere, so you'll always have a great view no matter where you sit if you go to watch a sporting event. The music is always on point and the service is also AMAZING! All the servers are great, but out favorite is Latisha (hope I spelled it correctly lol) She's super friendly and it feels like I've known her forever! Her bartending skills are great and the drinks she makes us are always delicious. Now for the food - The food is delicious. I'm obsessed with their chicken wings. They're always hot, fresh, crispy & juicy. They have a wide variety of flavors, but my fave is Chipotle BBQ. Their fries are also amazing and I'm not a fry lover. Their Oxtail Poutine is so sexy! Rich gravy and hot, crispy fries are an amazing combo. Their salad is also amazing. It has the perfect amount of dressing and the portion is perfect. I could write a book on the good things about this place lol. Go check them out!!!

Holy mother of God....the restaurant was empty on a Monday night. Ordered no drinks, just an appetizer and burgers. It took 30 min to get the appetizer and 1 hour to get our meals. Only 1 server, but hardly anyone to wait on. Will never go back. Food was OK, but definitely not worth the 1 hour wait.

I've been here 3 times now with different friends. The good: nice vibe, great priced drinks, DJ on Saturday nights. The bad: Each time - service is POOR. Very slow, staff seem very confused. My third time was HORRIBLE. I asked for a vegan dish, it came with Parm cheese despite my numerous reminders for no dairy and waiting so long for food. The second time my meal came out the portion was literally half the size of the first time. I was charged in full for my bill after my friends finished their food before I got mine. The server was very nice though, thankful she came back and told me there was actually dairy in the pesto! She didn't have to and saved me from being sick. They could really improve customer service especially for a new restaurant it's disappointing.

First time and probably won't be my last. Who knew this plaza had a decent bar tucked away in the corner lol. Huge space with lots of seating area, plenty of Tv's and lounge couches if you are a bigger group. Food was delicious and drink prices are really decent!! (Don't ever change that! Lol) The service I received today was really good, didn't get the servers names but...thanks for making my first visit a pleasurable one! ???? Bit more food options and I'll be 100% satisfied customer lol!! ???? Nonetheless, still a great spot!

Food good but never ever. When we arrived...This place was pretty empty (15 guests maybe) for a Wednesday night hockey/basketball playoff game and baseball on. One of servers turned around and looked at us as we arrived but didn't greet us and went back to watching the TVs. About 5 seconds later she turned around again and looked at us but didn't say anything yet again. Then as we start to walk in and seat ourself another bartender came from the kitchen, passing the other server, said hi to us and said that we could sit anywhere. We decided to go to the bench seating as it looked comfortable and welcoming. But the bench seating was way too firm and too high up compared to the table. When we sat down your legs would slant forwards towards the floor and also our legs were well above the table too. I'm 6ft tall and my legs would barely touch the ground. One of the first things you notice is the massive Onyx logo on the wall. If you ask me a big 4x4 tv setup to form a large screen would have been much much better. The rest of the TVs were all way to high and pretty much on the ceiling. To sit there and always look up to watch was a little uncomfortable after some time for your neck. There was a few key spots on the walls that were completely bare and lower so that people didn't have to be staring upwards at the ceiling all night. The live game music was pretty loud and we couldn't hear our server talk. Server came by at one point and said something but we had absolutely no clue what was she said and just nodded our heads. There was a cleaning spray bottle and cloth just hanging on bar chairs in front of us. There are these HUGE Napkin dispensers at all the tables which I thought was really ugly for this nicer looking place. Not that I'm expecting a fine dining restaurant but when the server brought us water in a jug she didn't pour for us nor were there coasters for our mugs on these brand new looking tables. I really can't believe how much onyx advertising there was all over the bar. It's odd. So the food....really damn good to be honest! With a little hiccup. The deep fried artichokes were so good! I've never had them before and I recommend them to anyone. But be careful the first bite can be burning to the roof of your mouth. Our main dish was the Vegan burger and it was massive! Presentation really nice but unfortunately very impractical to eat and not enjoyable. I ate most of it with a fork and then the bread almost on own. Nothing stayed in the bun and it wasn't going to happen either. I said we were sharing and it didn't come with a knife or a second plate to share. A nice extra step would have been cutting the burger for us in the kitchen. I waited a bit for our server to come back and check on us so I could ask for a plate and knife. But she never did. I got up and went to the bar to ask the other server for extra plates and cutlery. Server never did come by to check on us about the food. Only at the end when she cleared the plates did I mention it looked good yet was complicated to eat. She didn't seem welcoming of my constructive feedback. We also asked for a 2nd bottle of water and it took about 10 mins to receive it. Waiting to ask for the cheque also took about 10 mins. On the way out I think I noticed a pool table in a back room but lights off and no one able to play. Why? In the end I wasn't impressed at all. For some people in here saying that it's great service I question that big time! Although some staff are different from others and so forth but we were there with a dead bar of only about 15. I did enjoy the food. I usually give places a 2nd try just in case it was a one off experience but unfortunately this time around I have to put this on the list of never again. Suggestions... Soften bench seating. Staff more friendly. More TVs like where the UFC banner is beside the bench seating. And more in corner by the kitchen door area. Remove your 2x2 tv setup and swap space with the logo. Now make the TV set up 2-3x bigger. TVs in tables where benches are.

Went there last Saturday with a few people. Service was good and the server was very patient with us. We were welcomed instantly and stayed for more than two hours. I ordered the grana cheese di(can't remember the exact name) , mac n cheese balls and i had their salmon as an entree. The food was great and the portions were generous. However it did take long come out. I didn't like how a few of the servers were kinda lounging in the corner. Indeed, at the time we went it wasn't the busiest so the servers probably didn't have anything to do Great place nonetheless

The only reason why I’m giving a 1 star is because 0 is not available. It’s a beautiful atmosphere however the owner has absolutely no idea about customer service. The food is mediocre. I’ve been there more than a few times In order to come to this conclusion. Went there to watch the basketball game a few times as I met friends there and each time I went there, seating was an issue. He refused to have my friend and I sit at a table while we waited for our other 2 friends and wanted us to sit at a the bar until all parties were present. I’ve never heard this ridiculous rule in my life. We told him our friends were on route to meet us and basically it turned into a confrontation with other customers looking along asking why he was being so unreasonable. He said the seats cannot be reserved but there was a gentleman sitting at the lounge beside us waiting for his friends. The rules only apply to specific customers. My friends and I left and went elsewhere. I’d never go back there to support a business owner like that.

Just had dinner here with a friend earlier this evening! I had the gar par chicken wings with dragon stout BBQ sauce on the side and crispy, sweet potatoe fries. Nvm that the jerk chicken came 20 minutes before both appetizers... Smh. THEN THEY WOULDNT TAKE IT OFF MY BILL. LMAOOO. I first started working at Onyxx as a server when it opened in 2016. Right off the bat I knew the place had potential to be a success; the the food options are spectacular and the decor is stunning. I left due to personal reasons and returned January 2019. Upon my return, I realized that a lot of the customer complaints were about food being late or not prepared to the customers’ liking. A specific incident occurred on February 16, 2019. One of my tables had an issue with their meal and I went to the chef to inform him. The owner sent me to the front in a rude manner to “seat guests”. Then he proceeded to say that all I do is stay in the kitchen and do nothing. Now, let’s dissect this shall we? Two things are wrong with that scenario. #1. It is imperative that front of house and back of house have a good professional relationship to ensure that the customers’ needs are met. Therefore, for the owner to imply that I am wrong for communicating with the kitchen whenever there are issues concerning guests just shows that he shouldn’t be in the industry he is in. #2. It is very unprofessional to speak to your employees in a disrespectful and degrading manner. Employers should lead by example. Therefore, if I, an employee, am not treated with the respect I deserve, I will stand up for myself and make that known. I did just that. On the following day, I received a phone call from the owner’s son informing me not to come in for my shift that night. Super professional. ????????‍♀️ *note sarcasm* Onyxx has the potential to be great; the concept is impressive. However, management is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. The owner has no clue how to run a business, and refuses to work with his team. He is a dictator who will soon be out of business if he continues on the path he is on.

We found this place on Google and decided to check it out because of the good reviews. We were pleasantly surprised once we went inside. We didn't catch her name, but our waitress was friendly and a great server all around. It got pretty busy since it was Friday night and a raptors game was just finishing up, and I had ordered from their happy hour menu, which were SO good thanks to their great bartender. She managed to still be very attentive to us even though it was getting busy.

The owner is the most miserable old man I have ever seen in my life. He has no clue how to run a business. Beautiful atmosphere and good service. Just try your best to avoid the owner. He physically touched someone I was with inappropriately when instructing them to move. There was absolutely no reason for this disgusting behavior. which could very well be considered an assault. From the owner. Completely unacceptable. No one from our entire group will be returning to this establishment. I'd leave a 0 if it were possible.

First time going to this bar to watch a Raptors/Leafs game. The atmosphere was amazing! Had friends come from Markham and Guelph and they were very impressed with the bar setup. Flat Screen TV's everywhere, the DJ was simply amazing playing music during every commercial break and once the game was back on the audio from the game was loud. Felt like you were at the game. Food and drinks were on point also.
