A great mix of cultures happening every Thursday night. Salsa and bachata is playing all night and the people is here to dance matter where you from or what language you speak. Most of the people will dance with you even if you are a salsa dance beginner and teach you a thing or two.

Great Latin music playing that night! The place needs some dressing-up. Old layout and furnitures. Didn't order food, just drinks. Not quiet inviting for a food order. They wouldn't allow ripped jeans and I was wearing one on my first attempt to get there. Outside Latin music, I'm not considering another visit there.

I'm a regular on Thursday nights for Latino nights. The food is very good, 1/2 price martinis until 11pm. Come at 9:30 - 10:30 for a free beginner lesson, no partner required then dj will play salsa, bachata, cumbia and regeton. The crowd is approx 35+ Great night out!

Our first time at Fregata and we were not disappointed. The place was clean and tidy and accommodating. It lacked a little charm for me, but maybe that's not the aim. The food was good, we had an appetizer, and the drinks were priced right. But we went there for dancing and this place was primed for that. The dancefloor was big enough and the music was good, fluid and energetic. Everyone was on the floor dancing. We had a great time and plan on going back again soon.

Loved the Wilson Manuel Bachata concert in September. Also attend the Halloween Party. I like the Zero Tolerance Policy. Dancing and Drinking with a open beer bottle in your hand is not allowed there.. So no sticky tile floor at Fregata (unlike at Mana). The age range seems to be 30 -70 which is fine for Social Dancing. Hazelyn does a great job connecting people through dance, whether you are of Carribean, Latin, African, European or Canadian heritage... There will always be a song you like. Some Dance Schools try you to come to their weekly socials, but the crowd at Fregata consists of more regulars. Dovercourt House is good on Sundays while Fregata is good on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Thank you to all the men and women who taught me how to dance Salsa, Bachata and Merengue. (For Tarraxinha and Kizomba one still has to go to El Rancho or Dovercourt House)

(Translated) Back in the days this was a polish nightclub ... Unfortunately, the club stopped with both the decor and the music in the late 90's. But what is surprising how young Poles from Poland are coming in so little is getting harder and harder to stay here permanently. Poles born here will go to Dowtown Toronto. Some 8-10 years ago it was great to see many young 19-30 years old. There was Cascada jumping there but it all fell. Complete lack of renovation the same DJ age Approximately 50 years releasing only old hits such as young pistons etc. The lack of specific changes led Polish clubs to backwardness. Now it's some Spanish music in the frigate, radio hits ... it's a shame to talk. Plus tickets on Saturdays for $ 25 !!! I would rather play at the Rebel in Toronto, the largest club in Canada, always the latest music and DJs from all over the world ;-) And it would be a shame, it would be a shame to have competence! A new Polish club with young DJs and great decor and I bet all young Poles and all the rest of those foxes would go out. I would like it to revive! In case of what I will gladly offer my help ;-) in organizing the sound system and as a DJ! I don't believe there is no rich Pole who could invest in this business! Ale co się dziwić jak młodej poloni z Polski już tak niewiele napływa coraz trudniej tu zostać na stałe . Polacy urodzeni tutaj wola pojechać do Dowtown Toronto. Jeszcze jakieś 8-10 lat temu było fajnie przychodziło dużo młodych 19-30 lat. Była Cascada tam się skakało ale to wszystko upadło . Kompletny brak renowacji ten sam Dj wiek Ok 50 lat puszczający tylko stare przeboje typu młode tłoki itp. Brak konkretnych zmian doprowadził polskie kluby do zacofania. Teraz to we fregacie jakieś spanish music, przeboje radiowe ... szkoda gadać . A do tego bilety w soboty po 25$!!! Za tyle to ja się wole pobawić w Rebel w Toronto największym klubie w Kanadzie muzyka zawsze najnowsza i dj-eje z całego świata ;-) A szkoda wielka szkoda przydałaby się kompetencja ! Nowy polski klub z młodymi DJ-ami i świetnym wystrojem a założę się ze powychodzili by Ci wszyscy młodzi Polacy i cała reszta z tych lisich Nor. Chciałbym żeby to odżyło ! Went there Friday night for the latín night, the place is cozy, clean, in good shape and not to crowded, all staff was friendly and early on the night they have dancing lessons, which is great for all to loosen up, get into the dancing floor and start moving; granted the lessons are for the basic steps but the important part is to break the ice. Drinks are reasonable priced and the assisting crowd is nice and fun loving. I didn't have any food so I can not say anything about the restaurant section however they brought some chicken wings to the DJ and they looked and smelled freaking GREAT!! I left the place craving those chicken wings, I don't know how come I didn't order them. There's plenty of parking, washrooms are very clean, entrance cost only $5 bux. S great nice and comfortable place to shake the bones for a while. I had fun

We had our small wedding of 30ish people at Fregata, and were blown away. Our wedding venue fell through at the last minute and my mom helped us find Fregata, a jewel!!! The food was abundant (LOADS of it), the service amazing, they even decorated the tables! We truly loved our experience and could not have been happier with the end result. AMAZING SERVICE & EVERYTHING ELSE.

The restaurant was most empty, decor was very aged, they were tops tricky with dress code making our birthday celebration uncomfortable, they didn't serve us water, the crowd was very mature, they wouldn't serve water at the bar. Otherwise food was good, dance floor was lively enough.

We had our staff party here to celebrate the new year. We had a wonderful time with great service, food and venue. The prices were very good for the amount of food you got! we had enough for dinner and lunch the next day. The music and environment was fun, with a dance floor if you wanted to dance. We had a fantastic time at Fregata at many occasions. First time for our Film Festival party with all our VIP guests. We had a special room, separated from the rest of the club, the tables was set up in a way we can all talk. The venue itself had a great relaxed vibe and the music was incredible. The food was delicious and no one left hungry (particularly the Steak And Shrimps entree). The wait staff were also very friendly and helpful and managed our large group without any issue. Any other time we visit the club, we enjoy the Salsa nights, with free salsa lessons. Thank you Fregata for making our party a great night full of unforgettable memories. We will definitely be seeing you again!

The only good thing was that the food and drinks were priced well. The pizza was at best a mediocre frozen pizza. The pasta was tasteful, but after a few bites it was no longer pleasant. It took 90 minutes to get a salad that was mostly the middle and end of the lettuce (the parts you throw away). From when the table got the first dish to the last one was 30 minutes, so some people were done or had cold food before the last person got theirs.

I started dancing here Thursday nights 11 years ago. As a dance venue Thursday nights are Latin. Salsa Cumbia Bachata. It's a small hard tile dancefloor, not a good floor so many serious dancers don't dance there. But there are good dancers there, regulars. The music has always been excellent. Maria teaches a class around 930pm, social dancing begins shortly after 10pm. Fregata is a Polish restaurant. The food is good. The staff run a tight ship and the management are serious. Grudgingly polite. Customer service is not their strong suit. The vibe of the people there is always friendly, a lot of people have been dancing here Thursday nights for years. Some groups of ladies come looking to enjoy and dance. So lots of ladies who want to dance. Although it's a dancing venue many people also come just to enjoy the vibe, some lookey lou's and guys looking to meet ladies. Some couples come to dance but generally people change partners all night. So very inclusive if you want to dance... I live very close so I've started to dance here again. But I don't like the floor and many ppl are beginners; wear jewelry, don't know basics or etiquette. Butt I've learned some valuable lessons here from true Latin dancers here over the years, was introduced to cumbia here and now have many friends and friendly faces who make mb time there a treat.

Very disappointed with the service and customer service! Made reservations for dinner for a group of friends to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were seated for over and hour trying to get the attention of a waiter who kept ignoring us after making eye contact and signal he would come to our table. We saw him serving other tables but not coming to ours. I finally went to look for him and found him by the bar/kitchen entrance. Then he informed he could only serv us drinks & couldn't take food orders because the kitchen was too busy (although we saw people dining all around us). When I went to talk to the manager he just told me they had a large group and confirmed we were not going to be served dinner. We could stay for drinks and dancing if we wanted to ????. As we were leaving it became clear they were trying to get rid of us as they needed our table for the larger group. It is too bad. My wife and I, along with many friends have been celebrating birthdays and get together occasions there for years and even recommend the place before. I hope that large group continues to frequent their place as often as we did because our group won't be coming back

We went there on a Saturday evening and the place was pretty busy. I ordered food, and the chicken was under cooked. The place is not well lit, so I needed to use the phone ‘s flashlight to check the food. It was definitely raw. The cocktails are watered down, maybe to compensate the fact that they would not put a watter pitcher on the table. The music was good though.

In regards to the last comment to the past review..... Wow boy you must be bitter.... What happen did you get shut down by the female staff.... That is a lot of anger coming from just one visit...... Hmmm I must say if you didn't like the environment from the beginning why stay and order food..... and you say that you stayed and continued to order a couple of drinks and watch to see how many people arrive sounds far fetch.... Next time you wanna trash talk a place .... try to sound a little educated and put your story in line so that it sounds believable..... if it was trashy and out date you should turn around and leave not stay and place orders.... unless that is your cup of tea and then once again you must of got rejected somehow by the establishment.... hmmm coming to think of it maybe you are one of the people that got kicked out by the bouncer and people like yourself should not be returning plain and simple...... As for me I like the place, but not every night is my cup of tea that is for one to try out and decide...... Sorry for your bad experience but it sounds like your a miserable guy anyways.... Hope you get better....

The Fregata offers great food and drinks, nice ambiance and good service. The owner is very open to all kinds of ideas and recently accommodated organizers, volunteers and supporters of a beautiful charity campaign from Poland collecting money for medical equipment for pediatric wards in Polish hospitals. Fregata opened its doors and let us have a great event with a concert, auction, etc. It's a great place for events but also a good place to come to dance and/or eat.

Every time I come to Fregata I have a fantastic time. The food is great, the DJ spins music that everyone enjoys, but most of all, the people of Fregata are fantastic. Fregata has a great zero tolerance policy that keeps the trouble makers out. If someone is causing trouble you're sure to never see them again. Fregata is a master at the "night-out" experience, offering a place for anyone of any kind to come, enjoy the music, the people and most of all have a great time. The only thing I wish for Fregata is to increase the size of their dance floor, because it usually gets too crowded and people have trouble finding a place to dance. I also wish there was a larger wine and champagne selection that I can enjoy without having to buy the whole bottle. Other than that, the place is great. I highly recommend it and hope to see you all there. Cheers, 10/10!

My wife and I had a wonderful time on New Years Eve at Fregata. We've been customers there for over 20 years, the drinks are excellent, and the food is delicious and the music is amazing. The staff and management are always ready to help. However, the dance floor gets too crowded after 12... overall fantastic place!!

I've been traveling around the world past 15 years and this is the worst place I have ever been. Me and my gf went on a Saturday and the cover charge was 15 dollars which I could have been paid a club like Rebel. People who came to club was all old people looking for young girls and club had their own call girls. Never recommend this club for young crowed. It advertised as a salsa club but played all house music. Pls don't waste your time in this..

Highly recommend this place, they've been around for two decades, still going strong! They should try playing more slower songs...

Went for salsa Thursdays. Website says it's free except for special occasions. We get there and they are charging cover. When asked repeatedly what the special occasion was they answered "it's a special occasion". There was no occasion. He told the lady behind us if we don't like it we can leave. If you want somewhere to go on a Friday or Saturday night then you can't go wrong with Fregata. Not only is there more than enough parking space (free of charge) but, if there is a lineup outside, it will take a minute at most for you to get in. Once you're inside, you'll quickly realize that everyone there is only there for one reason...to have a good time. Every time I go, everyone is always dressed to impress and I am definitely impressed by what everyone wears there so two thumbs up.

The music was playing from the main room so we didnt need a DJ. They were very accommodating with our decor and personal requests. I would definfitly recommend this place !

I recently threw a surprise 50th birthday party at Fregata. I had close to 30 people and the staff was very helpful. Jerry (the owner) went above and beyond to make the night memorable. There's a reason why this restaurant is still around after 20 + years. Great job Fregata. Keep up the great work.

The food sucks. The service is very bad. They serve vodka with water to maximize their profit. Deep in a side-dish was a long wet strand of hair. Guys, polish food is delicious but if you want to experience that NEVER GO TO FREGATA. Music sucks. This is a low life, immigrant drinking hole and I recommend that every one avoids this place. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE.

Na kacu w Polsce robiłem lepsze imprezy w weekendy gdzie było minimum 600 osób na wejściu. Kobiety miały wstęp wolny. To były imprezy... Nie to co teraz tu jest w Kanadzie...
