It's easy to get in, make sure that your group isn't JUST girls or JUST boys and usually, they don't make you wait too long. The musical selection is great, new and old, nice mix. The drinks are a bit expensive, but since you get a beer and the vestiaire with the cover, it's not too bad. It's not very adult-like as I felt like a lot of 17-19 year olds were there and not really older. The dancefloor gets crowded fast.

Terrace looks nice but the bouncers are awful. My friend tried to go last week and was kicked out for wearing a tank top. Girls in the same group as him wore spaghetti strap tanks and cut off jean shorts and had no problem getting in, so obviously he was a little pissed. This week the bouncer "remembered his face" and wouldn't let him in. I tried to tell him that my friend was too drunk last week and didn't mean to insult them with whatever he said, his response was "well you're not coming in either". Cool, I'm never going back. P.S. Their Facebook page doesn't have a review option, I wonder why?

Least favourite nightlife experience during our week in Montreal. Line to get in was long. Coat check was an absolute moshpit. Totally unorganized. Things started getting physical, bouncers were barely in control and only making the situation worse. Ended up drinking our "free" drinks, then leaving. Waited around half an hour outside, then at least that inside before we finally pulled the plug. Crowd was rude and physical, and vibe wasn't great. Most expensive Molson I've ever bought.

Tokyo Bar is definitely a Montreal staple when it comes to bars & clubs. It's a different vibe from Thursday through Sunday, but never in a bad way. Thursdays they play a lot of old school, Fridays more hip-hop & club anthems, Saturday is a top40/remix night & Sunday is for the hip-hop lover. Great staff, great crowd, always a pleasure.

I came here with some friends last year on a Thursday night in July and it was totally packed! The rooftop is a great place to meet people and get drinks.We only had to wait in line for a short while. There was a good mix of music (although the DJ cut off songs a little too short I thought) and the drinks were good. Some young university age people in the crowd, but mostly young professionals or people in 20s-30s. I had a great time!

This club is mostly populated with people who are 18-25 and plays hiphop music as well as some top hits. As a group of 3 girls the bouncers were kind enough let us skip the line. The cover is $9 but includes coat check and a free shot which I think is very worth it! Everyone who worked there was very kind and the overall vibe was great. As a local I love coming here on the weekend and i can always count on having a great time here.

I go to Tokyo all the time, the staff are always super pleasant and make me feel at home. You get a free drink when you pay cover and free coatcheck, on top of that there are some amazing prices on bottles! The Djs are some of the best in Montreal and the dance floor is always happening. In the summer there are 2 awesome patios to hang out at. I'll definitely be going back!

Went to the club with some friends, the night was pretty fun right up until closing time. 2:30AM they turn on the lights signifying the night was coming to an end. 3:00AM they say the night’s over and thank us for coming out etc. Immediately after security guards are pressuring us out of the venue. My friend was with a guy she had just met and a group of his friends. I explained the situation to the security guards, and told them I just wanted to stand near the exit to make sure my friend could get out of the bar safely and she wasn’t being pressured into anything she didn’t want to do. The guards couldn’t have cared less. They told me not to worry about it and to leave. I wasn’t trying to continue my night in any way, or be difficult. If you’re hoping to have some fun with friends I’d recommend somewhere else. In the end I didn’t feel there was a lot of care for my friends safety or a care if anything were to have happened to her (I almost was escorted out because I refused to leave without knowing she was safe. )

In all honesty, I have never been so disrespected and maltreated in my life. I paid $9 entrance for VIP for a friends bday. I asked the chick at the front (who I paid) if i could run out for a cigarette and she said yes. When we came back in, I was stopped by an extremely rude individual who claimed my stamp was from the night before. Literally, I clocked out from work in Ottawa at 730pm last night. As if I WANTED to drive to Montreal to go to Tokyo, of all places... to be honest, your security guard needs to get a grip. I was mortified and was made to pay an extra $10 for that poor experience. Thanks for that. I've been clubbing in Montreal before and this is BY FAR my worst experience. We called ahead to ensure we were on the list, then paid $10x 5 people... and then I paid again $9 to your incompetent front desk chick... and she simply refused to remember that she made a mistake. It really was no big deal... until she started screaming in my friends face. Is it really worth $10 to get a terrible review? I will NEVER return. Nor will any of my friends... including Montreal locals. Customer service is key to a successful business and today, your employees failed.

Been all over the world and I have to say this club is by far one of the worst clubs I've ever been to. Last weekend was the first and last time I'll ever spend my money at this establishment. Ladies be warned, there is a single step that elevates the tables from the "dance floor" I use quotation marks because the dance floor is the size of my living room. The step is not lit and when you add high heels and alcohol to the equation well you have a lawsuit waiting to happen. Who the hell designed this place? Who thought it was a good idea to have a single step about 4-5 feet from the tables? I have massive bruises on my knees because of this step. Aside from falling down, the music sucked, the people were ghetto, the bouncers wouldn't let us back upstairs to our bottle service table because apparently cops were watching the place, and it's not in the downtown core. Lastly, if your club is being watched by the cops that should be a warning to all to stay away from this club.

Due to my experience im afraid j had a terrible time. There were three factors that made this a unacceptable and unbearable experience. There is a few factors to come into play. It was a friends birthday and reserved a list for 20 people. Told it wasnt going to cost anything. 1. Problems with confirmation of the guest list. For my friends birthday we decided to go to this location. All ready to go and ready to have some fun. When we tried to enter, we had a specified time to enter. Let alone they did not communicate well on what hour was the appropriate time and to what was the the current status of our guest list. 2. Unexpected charges. When we finally were able to find out when we were able to enter. The door man indicated us that we still had a cover. When we were told that there would be none. Hence a fair bit of people did not have cash on themselves. 3. Ignorance and negligence. This is what made me upset the most. The fact that after all this, several others and i were still trying to enter. After waiting outside for a few dozen minutes. We get told that the guest list has been filled. I informed the man that was impossible, for the fact that only about 10 of the group have arrived. He proceeded telling me that he counted every person personally and i was wrong. But i was talking to my friends who were inside who counted and said there was 10. Even after this the people inside tried to come explain and communicate to inform them that we were on the guest list and they must of made a mistake. But due to ignorance and negligence of them just ended if frustrations and disapointments. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Bad management. Bad hospitality. And bad service. I would much rather pay more money to somewhere better and i wont be returning nor bringing friends here.

Do not go at this place. The staff doesn't care about their clients, they will treat you like carbage. I even see someone get punched in the face by the doormen just for asking if can get back inside after he payed the cover. Even the manager encourage this type of attitude from his staff. Just stay as far as possible from this club, they are way better places to go out in montreal!

Was the spot to go to on Thursdays during first year in university. Young crowd with 18-20 year olds. Cover gets you a beer which is nice. That being said If your 25 and over I wouldn’t recommend going since you will feel like a chaperone. But it’s an awesome place for drinks and jaeger bombs and gets super crowded on Thursdays, get there early to avoid lineups.

This is by far the worst club i have ever been to. The management is horrible, and the bouncers all need to be fired, they are aggressive and disgustingly ignorant. My female friend was pushed to the ground and passed out by one of them and when her boyfriend went to tell him he harmed his girlfriend he received aggression and punches to the face so bad that he now has a broken cheek. He spent 15 hours at the hospital in total that weekend. This club needs to be shut down or out under completely new management. For your own safety don’t go to Tokyo nightclub.

We paid $200 for a bottle to enter Tokyo Bar. We were denied entry to re enter the club from a smoke. Is this how Tokyo Bar treat their Clientele? I could have easily spent money on another club in Saint Laurent but I chose Tokyo bar because of its marketable name. These bouncers were denying us entry despite it being 11pm and a emtpy house in Tokyo Bar [19 April 2019- Friday] Whoever is considering to spend money on this club, think again. first off, it was my first time in montreal, everyone told me to avoid this club but i wanted to try it for myself. worst choice i ever made. the staff were so rude from the start and made everyone feel unwelcome. later on in the night my friend was defending his girlfriend and got attacked by the bouncers. you have to wonder what kind of place is hiring people like this? I would never go here, and stay far away. also considering no one has done anything about their staff abusing people is disgusting and should say more than enough.

I've heard so many bad things about this place and from my own experience that I felt compelled to write a review. The bouncers are racist and will kick out anyone they decide is not cool enough. I've had my friends kicked out before while we were in the bar. They were not drunk, as they were the dds, but the bouncer decided to kick them out anyways. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place to my enemy, especially because Montreal is filled with so many other great bars that can deliver better service. Looking forward to seeing this place close one day.
