The one time I went, I personally had a great time however I think that was due to the fact that we knew the doorman and were able to bypass the line up that seemed to never end. Already upon arrival the vibe was tense outside, the bouncers looked triggered and seemed to be arguing with people all over. On the inside was a pretty bustling and hyped crowd, the music was good and everyone seemed to be having a good time. I do believe a fight broke but luckily for me, my rapid feet evaded any sort of bodily injury. 3 stars for the good music, good vibe and pretty girls/ratio. 2 stars lost for the triggered bouncer and crowd that made their way in. If you can get in, go. If you can't there are comparable places to get into minus the headache.

Cool place with good music. Funny thing is I was with a big group that were all dressed up. The thing was I just had surgery the week prior and didn’t plan on going out so I was wearing baggy sweatpants running shoes and a t shirt. They didnt want to let me in being the short chubby way under dressed girl of the group but they turned a blind eye and we had a blast. Good on them, once inside no one cared.

Even if you get there early and there's nobody they still won't let you in without guestlist, doorman chooses who gets in based on what you look like. Don't waste your time. There are tons of good bars in the old Port.

Somwhr is a very poorly managed club. I flew from the UK and was in Montreal for my birthday. I wanted to go to somwhr to celebrate so made a guestlist reservation 1 week in advance as the tables were fully booked. The reservation manager Mykl Zadourian called me the morning of my night out and told me i was definitely going to get in as long as we popped 2 bottles of alcohol and arrived before 11:30(this was without me even contacting him). We arrived at 11 to be met by rude bouncers who told us the guestlist was done and we werent getting in. They were completely ignoring the fact that we were standing there, when you try to get information from them they say wait while the stand texting on their phones. The only person competent was Ally who tried her best to help us!! AVOID unless you want to stand in the cold and have your night ruined by their unprofessional, poorly managed establishment.

Somwhr was a great club. Went for a friends birthday on a Friday night. The club started out slow but got quite crowded by 12-12:30pm. The music was good however I would have enjoyed a little more rap and hip hop.

Don't waste your time going here, the bouncers are completely out of control. I didnt have bottle service and they wouldn't let me or my friends in when the line was empty. To be honest they barely talk to us, they're only concern about us was purchasing bottles.There is a great club across the street with cheaper drinks. We had an awesome time there

The manager of this club Michael Zadouryan has to be Montreal's worst night club manager. We wanted to reserve a table one week in advance but unfortunetly they were all booked. we were told that we can get a guestlist and this is what we did. The day of the reservation, when everything should of been set up already, I get a call from the manager saying that we had to get 2 bottles in order to get in. That wasn't a problem since we were already planning to get 3 of those so I told him that it was fine. He suggested that we get there early to avoid waiting in the queue for a long time, which we did we arrived there at 11. As soon as we got there, we had to stand in the cold for ages before getting told that we weren't gonna be able to get in because guestlists were cancelled. Absolutely ridiculous.

In from out of town, decided to eat in the old port with some girlfriends. Once we finished dinner Somwhr was recommended as a fun place to grab drinks and dance afterwards. The bouncers were nice but after that everything fell apart. The service at the bar was awful. We ordered and waited 20 minutes for 4 tequila shots. The barmaid was too busy drinking with people who ordered bottles of vodka at the bar and serving other people before us. I thought ok, maybe it's just this barmaid. NOPE. Waited another 15-20 minutes for more shots at another bar while the barmaid drank champagne and served other people before us. It seemed to us that the business model is pretty simple, ignore everyone who isn't buying bottles and care only for the people who are. We didn't waste the rest of our night waiting for another barmaid to make time for us, we just left, and so should you.

My favourite spot in the city! I love the music and the staff is always there to make sure you have fun. You’ll find Montreal’s finest in this club. I love the fact that the bouncers are there solely to protect everyone.

The place is small and cannot be manage. They don’t let you go outside even if there is a fire alarm. The bouncers are on a powertrip pushing and head locking everyone as soon as you paid and they try to justify it. Save your money, go someplace else.

Terrible Service Terrible Management Terrible Business Model I don’t see this place making it past 2018. This “you need to know someone” to get in model won’t support their financials any longer. Lost a lot of loyal business in the last month. I will be making sure to tell family, friends and clients to stay away. A couple of members of the staff are old Pinq Taco family, we go way back and I respect you. Anyone else is not team building material. Especially that short guy who handles the door and goest lists. Fist major change would be to kick him out.

Simply one of the worst club in Montreal. You'll find the ugliest crowd and worst management ever. I am from France living now for more than 4 years in Montreal and it's not even worth a bistro in Barbès. If you think of spending money to celebrate anything in Montreal (like I did), don't go there. Some people there will put you and your friends in danger. Intelligent persons learn from their mistakes, wise people learn from other's mistakes. Be wise, go SOMEWHERE ELSE.

There is not one night that this club disappoints. Top 3 Dj’s in Montreal cover all three nights as resident Dj’s. The service is next level and class everytime I go. There isn’t another spot better than this. Highly recommend any night. If you’re a hip hop lover. You cannot go wrong.

Was celebrating friend's bday and we had a table reserved for us for over 1000$. Ordered 3 bottles, staff was very rude and agressive. Music and the DJ was horrible, would be better to listen some virgin radio 94.5. Place is very very very small and definitely no good for a club. My friend sprayed accidentally the champagne while opening the bottle: NO ONE GOT WET OR WTV since we had our own booth thingy, bouncers immediately came to us and threw us outside and we didn't finished our bottles. They were very disrespectful and one of them insulted us and was very agressive by grabbing us by arm. Our evening was killed... Will not recommended this place, Ecole Privee much much much better and incomparable. Safe your energy and money, definitely not worth it.

I was there one night celebrating a friends birthday, besides the vibe & the music being awesome, the VIP treatment we received started at the front door in the beginning of our night and lasted throughout the following day. The barmaid was always smiling and happy! The crowd was fun a crowd! That night I unfortunately lost my purse and couldn't find it anywhere. The following day I received a phonecall from one of the owners telling me they found my purse. Not only was I happy about it but everything I had in my purse was still there! Now that's what I call HONEST people!!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!!!

Came for drinks at the bar ,we took the corner the small barmaid with black hair at the end of the bar near the tables was extremely rude .....she never smiles was giving us horrible attitude super rude ! And never paying attention when we wanted to order drinks! Because of that experience we will never go back again plz learn how to smile and be friendly to customers we are not there to get humiliated .manager as well was rude so as the bouncers ! If we ever visit Montreal we will never go back there again !

This place is BEYOND horrible! We had a reservation, spent over 700$ in alcohol and got attacked in the club by two drunken men. The manager, this tiny little guy with no professionalism what so ever, told us to leave. It was a horrible night. This place has a terrible management and I DO NOT recommend it if you wanna have a good time in Montreal.

We had a reservation for a table for a birthday celebration for over 750$. We reserved everything 3 weeks before and the day before our party, our reservation was canceled by the manager because some one was ready to spend more money than us and the management gave them our spot. Tried to figure something out with the staff but every body were very rude and disrespectful and seemed to be triggered. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else, like ecole privee for example, who cares about their customers.

I've been to pretty much all of the night clubs in Montreal and Somwhr is my new favourite. Great vibe, good music, affordable drinks and a good looking crowd. I strongly recommend you check it out at least one time while youre in Montreal.
