I went to see the Raggae band Gondwana at Upstairs Cabaret with my partner last night. The band was great but the music, in particular the base, was so loud that we had to enjoy it from the outside entrance of the club. The entry door glass was vibrating intensely from the loud base and so was my heart, which was very unpleasant. The noise inside was nothing short of ear-splitting. A Concord taking off would pale against it. After standing on the other side of the door for some time we were told by security that we could not be there as this was an exit. There was lots of room and only the two of us were standing outside. We ended up leaving as there was no way we could enjoy the experience. It's a shame it was so loud as the band really was good. I don't know if it's always that loud there but the attendants last night definitely risked hearing damage and worse. Disappointing experience.

This is the number one spot I go in Victoria because it’s not only fun—but it’s a wonderful environment with a sick staff. I always feel welcome n happy with my time here and have enjoyed b days and more events here because it’s a fav. 10/10 would recommend

Extremely rude DJ shrew! , didn't take any requests. Refused and turned down. They need to learn to interact with crowd. Basic etiquette wouldn't harm them. Disappointed with his music choices, looked like he was only playing for himself.

Awsome night club with some great music to shake up. Good bars with all sought of drinks you could normally get in a nightclub . Can get too crowded on weekend which is acceptable but i am being returning back all the time with my group to enjoy some drinks n dance .

Top 40, pop, hip hop, r&b on Friday and Saturday nights. Accommodating approachable, and professional staff and security hosting very frequent live performances of every genre from local talent to big touring acts. Charming Darcy's Pub below for good eats and sports beforehand.

THE BOUNCERS ARE RACIST. I can't even begin to describe how horrible my experience was last night. We got there with my friends at 11.30pm and waited till 1am to get in and we still didn't. Meanwhile the bouncers were letting in people from the back of the line for a fee of 20 dollars per person which was going into their pockets. When I asked one of them how much longer it was going to be he said that there were too many people in the club only for his mate to let more people in infront of our eyes after they paid him. I told him it wasn't fair to us because we had been waiting for hours and that its not right to take bribes from people who are at the back of the line and he said to me " you can give me all the money in the world and I still won't let you in". That's when my friends and I knew it was time to call it a night. It was the worst experience of my life especially because my friends and I drove all the way from Qualicum beach to have a good time in Victoria. Please guys if your black think twice before you attempt to enter this club. WORST NIGHT EVER!!!!

Probably one of the most fun clubs by the bar area in Victoria. A natural place to slide to after beers at the Irish Times or the many water holes on the main Street. Going until 2 or 3 am most nights

We organized a 19th birthday party for one of our stylists at this nightclub. The profiling and lack of professionalism shown by the staff outside of this establishment has made me think twice of our decision. I know we are not in our 20s, but we are business people and should be respected and not prejudged. It came to a point we had to get a neighbour business to talk to them about their behaviour after they tried to embarrass us and lie to our face about whether or not OUR entry was permitted despite the fact that I had already been inside and simply went outside to retrieve three of our guests. Would not recommend this venue if you are looking to host a variety of people.

They get back to you regarding guest lists really last minute or sometimes never. I’ve encountered some really rude staff there but some were also very sweet. The drinks are also way overpriced and the music all sounds the same (trash)

Had an awesome time here on a Saturday night. Liked it a lot more than distrikt. The lights, music and dancing is better imo. Downside is the 3 bars inside get too crowded because bartenders only take 1 order at a time and tend to get distracted

After waiting in guest list line for over 1 hour from 10:30-11:40 the girl at the entrance gave horrible customer service, couldn't move the line and refused to let any of us in without paying a ridiculous fee even tho I had guest list and am a student. She proceeded to tell me "honey you don't have to go here" talking to me like I was a child. Then telling me I had an attitude when I explained how long we have been waiting in the line. Will never come back to this place and deter others I know from going here.

If a good Friday night for you is getting verbally harassed at coat check, having your girlfriend grabbed by staff, and then being ignored by management when you voice your concerns then this is definitely the place for you. They also offer overpriced shots and the same trash music as Distrikt.

First of all, just here to boost the rating a bit. The club is actually quite decent. It is indeed a lot smaller than Distrikt and Sugar, but bartenders are relatively nice, and musics are competently produced and mashed together for a night's service. But you have to be super patient sometimes because it can be super busy. Have a nice day.

I went on a Tuesday night for DJ Pauly D. Maybe they were understaffed but the bathrooms were HORRIBLE before 11pm! There was vomit in the corner by the bath room door and a toilet completely out of use due to vomit. I was waiting in the crowd for Pauly D, and as soon as he came on grown men started pushing me around to the extent that a group of girls were screaming if my friend and I were okay (we are both under 5 ft). We moved away since security wasn't doing anything about the aggressive crowd. Later security comes in to remove a guy that ya might of been "too messed up" but he was just dancing and keeping to himself and in the process they elbowed me in the face! We left early and had a better time at the local 711

I'm disappointed!! Put my coat in coat check and tried to get my phone from my jacket a few minutes later. Had the ticket ready and the girl at the coat check told us we needed to pay $2 to get our phone. She said it was the policy, whereas the alleged policy is nowhere to be seen (neither on their price board nor the coat check ticket) Wish this was an honest business again disappointed.... Ripped off!!!

Terrible club, bad security...they do not ID people I've had to pick up my 17 year old sister here several times because it's so easy to get in, all they do is smudge ink on their arm and security let's them right in, not impressed and should really report the place.
