At the end of November I took my family to enjoy lunch at the Bundle Bar and what a delightful experience it was! First, the valet offered complimentary parking as we had a handicapped pass. How gracious! Second, while we stood in line to have our proof of COVID vaccine reviewed and to then be seated, Vijit Ponnaiya (Manager) went to help his staff by clearing off a table for us. It was a very busy time and the table happened to be one of the best seats in the house -- right by the window overlooking the mountains and the valley. As we waited, a fellow and his lady rushed past us and seated themselves in the very spot that had been cleared for us. Mr. Ponnaiya addressed the couple by reminding them of the protocols outlined at the entrance and then sat them at a different table before coming back to attend to us. Thank you, Sir! We sincerely appreciated the attentiveness of the valet team and the decency of the Rundle Bar manager. This was a once in a lifetime experience for my elderly parents

This is a classy, high end lounge with panoramic views of the valley. There's comfortable seating and a nice booze selection. Service was surprisingly split for a place this tony; we got a couple rounds of free bar snacks delivered to us, but never managed to flag down a waiter for a drink.

Why skip a classic experience ... at the Fairmont ... in Banff? The experience doesn't disappoint. The views are stunning, the service is delightful, and the tea, scones, sandwiches, and desserts are perfection. I appreciated the sniffing station to help me with my tea selection. Stick with the regular afternoon tea. The addition of champagne and the cheese board is overwhelming.

Overall - This should be a must see for every traveler visiting Banff. Good - The sight of this hotel is breathtaking. It is strategically built that the back of the hotel overlooks the lake and the Rockies, take pictures in the balcony if it is open (it was closed when we went). We enjoyed a brunch in the Rundle lounge (also a must do activity) and it was very delicious. We had the Alberta Sirloin Burger and a Crunchy Fish Sandwich. The meal was absolutely flavorful and makes my mouth water just thinking about it. The burger and sandwich also came with a soup/salad, which were good as well. Bad - It is pricey. This was our breakfast and lunch for that day so we swallowed the price tag. Tip - You do not have to eat there to check out the amazing views or the hotel. Feel free to walk in and walk out. Parking could be an issue. If you do not find parking on the street you are looking at about 3 CAD to self-park.

Perhaps a one off, but we arrived at 9:10pm tonight , we were welcomed and asked to pick our own seats. waited til 9:40 without being served or even greeted by a server. No water, no introduction, nothing. Patrons to the left and right of us arrived later than us and were served before us. The restaurant was probably half empty. I ended up going to the bar to try and find a server, mind you at this point it is 9:50pm, we were fed up and just ended up leaving, no food no greeting. room service it is good luck to us, rundle bar servers, you have to be more on it. Disappointment as this was our little get away from the kids, at a beautiful hotel just to be left hangry.

This review is for afternoon tea at the Rundle lounge. The setting is beautiful. The experience is Instagram worthy. The service was casual and exceptionally friendly. The price might be considered prohibitive, but this is the Fairmont Banff springs. My last experience bordered on a 3-4. We just really didn't love the desserts. At this price point we should. The customer service is top notch though. I did mention it in my review and the kitchen manager did say he will address it so I am looking forward to trying it in the future. My last experience was a 4-5 star. That's why I'm doing a 4 star for now. Pro tip: One thing that isn't made clear is whether or not you can get extra items if you aren't full. I'm not a huge eater so for me, the amount given is fine. I'm pretty sure you can get more (no extra charge). I know some people might not think to ask even if they might be leaving hungry, so that's a good thing to know. It also makes their price point much better knowing that. You can also get different teas if they aren't too busy. It's nice having a switch especially if you can't handle too much caffeine.

Gorgeous bar with amazing views. The cocktails are inspired and the bar menu is simple but SO tasty. Seating is a first come first serve deal but you have great views from pretty much any spot in the bar, even if it’s just views of the bar itself which is fabulously decorated.

Came here for the afternoon tea which was $55 per person. It was very good and I feel it is better than the one at Lake Louise Fairmont Chateau. There are many teas for you to choose from and you can smell them before deciding. The scones are the right size, not too big. I loved the pistachio desert and savory food. The atmosphere is beautiful and modern. The staff are friendly and helpful as they were patient in helping us take window photos with the great view. I think it is less crowded than the one at Lake Louise which makes it more relaxing. Highly recommend!

I've been to the Rundle Lounge a few times for afternoon tea over the years and the first thing I'll say is it's expensive. Be prepared for $100+ for two for tea time. Their pastries are quite good (although I prefer the pastries during the other times I've been there). They do seem to cycle the menus with the season so it's always nice to get something different, I'm just not a fan of their winter menu items. I put in a reservation for a birthday (mine) the last time that I went, and I'll have to say that normally their service is on top of everything but it seemed very forced and not so personalized this last time. No mention of birthday or any of our special requests. That's ok, but for the price tag and Fairmont name, I expect service. Overall, I would recommend tea time if you are willing to pay the price tag. It is a beautiful environment to look over the bow valley while enjoying a tea time tradition.

Beautiful bar, great service, amazing cocktails - we tried most of them and each one of them was incredible. There's a drink for any taste. But besides the drinks, I highly recommend their food. Everything was delicious, specially the chips and the onion dip - we ended up ordering it again the day after.

I recently went to the Rundle Lounge for some appetizers and cocktails and was so happy with the quality of the cocktails that I received! Our server Meghan was so nice and even though the patio was busy she always came over and made sure we had everything we needed! When the food came down the porter Sarah was so informative with explaining all the different sauces and dishes as she was putting them on the table! Will definitely be returning in the future and will recommend this restaurant to anyone who is thinking about visiting Banff.

I called to see if they had reservations for a group of 10 for high tea for part of my bachelorette party, as the website they use for online bookings said they didn't have anything. I called late at night but the lady I talked to was so helpful and nice, and said someone would call back within 24 hours. They called the next day and could squeeze us in for 11:15 which was perfect. You do NOT show up late to high tea at the Banff Springs, but a few of my friends made us 15 minutes late. Our server was so accommodating and didn't mind at all. I can't remember her name, but she took us through what types of sandwhiches and desserts were put out for us, and how picking our tea worked. There were a couple of people who had intolerance's and food allergies, but the server and the kitchen staff were so amazing at accommodating them and making sure that there were alternatives that they could eat. The server was also kind enough to take some pictures of us all during the lunch. As per usual, the Fairmont Banff Springs went above and beyond to accommodate our large group to make the experience something to remember. Overall it was an absolutely amazing experience that I will definitely come back to, and I would not hesitate to recommend the high tea to others. Thanks for making this the highlight of my bachelorette party! :)

I'm sure they have great drinks here, but we dropped by for a quick lunch which was a huge disappointment. I ordered the bison sliders, I received two small pool-ball sized burgers with some chips for $24. The food was delivered not at all once to the table, but the first guest received their plate and we waited, and waited, and waited, all in all in took about 10 minutes for the first guest to get their food and the rest of the table to get their food, mind you, we were only a table of 4 people. I am not sure why but the value for the food is not good and having the kitchen send out the plates in such a broken up order was not pleasant. Will definitely not be going back to the rundle room!!! If you need to eat anything go to the other restaurants at the Banff springs this was a complete fail.

OMG how bad can food get? This hotel should be ashamed of this only lunchtime offering -worse than the worst regional Irish pub. The founders would be turning in their graves. I'm sorry but this is a truth you have to hear. For gods sake subsidise one of the decent restaurants in your gorgeous glamorous building to open for lunch and market it for them. Drinks are great!

Loved this place so much I visited it twice during my vacation here. Dinner with a jaw dropping view. You can come in and seat yourself however if u want u can also ask the server to reserve a table for u if u have to walk away for a moment. I tried the mexican restaurant on the balcony. These two stars are only for the environment and very friendly servers. But the food and presentation (containers) quality was below poor!!!! The main purpose of me going to this expensive place was to have a nice and different environment and eating experience but honsetly I felt like I was eating a $5 taco from taco time, but they even have a better creativity with their food containers than these guys who are so cool to use some shabby sketchy cheapass baskets.

I was at the Fairmont for a conference. As a person who eats a ketogenic diet, it's very important to find places that can accommodate. I went to the Rundle Lounge at the Fairmont and was hoping to find something that I could eat. After a slight misunderstanding, Chris, the manager made sure to go above and beyond to ensure that I had something that would fit my way of eating. Once I got my food, it was fresh, and exactly what I had ordered. Delicious! Kudos to the staff, especially Vicente and Chris. They were kind and apologetic for the slight error. Keep up the great work!

Our last visit a few years ago was great, there were more options for snacks then. I remember we had the best nachos ever. But they didn’t have the same food this time. We also had come this time for the afternoon tea, and there was nothing advertised on the website that reservations are mandatory, only recommended. We arrived before 1 pm and were told afternoon tea was sold out, so we had to leave. Was a bit frustrating and we also had already paid for parking.

Afternoon tea was my Mother's day gift to my two daughters. Covid delayed our outing, but we got away to Banff this weekend. We were all excited to be having afternoon tea. I designed and made fascinators for them, which added to their anticipation of the event. Most of my selections were comparable to their's with the exception of: the shredded cucumber and radish sandwich (which had NOTHING on the bread). I have catered (Calgary High Tea society) and wouldn't dream of presenting a bare sandwich... a pear and feta compilation (which looked like a pear which was rotting from the core outward). I like my food to at least LOOK palatable.

After a busy day out and about, this bar is perfect for the wind down. Our server, Jeff, was fantastic. He was super friendly, very knowledgeable and helpful with drinks and snacks. We crashed in the Rundle for four hours trying almost every cocktail on the menu and enjoying appetizers. We started with chips & dip along with Popcorn. Then moved on to the BANH MI BAO BUNS and Pork Dumplings. Everything was top notch. If you’re looking for a chill spot to relax and unwind, the Rundle Bar is the place to be.

Overall the restaurant looked nice but when you sat down for tea, you can tell how dated the whole area is and it gave off a gloomy vibe as well. One of my two favorite bars in the world, the other one being at the Chateau Lake Louise. Great spot to grab a beverage and a snack in the late afternoon while you relax, enjoy the view and ponder your adventures of the day or your plans for the evening ahead. Be sure to chat with the wait staff beyond your order. They are always from another part of Canada or the world and are such interesting young people!

Went in expecting a wonderful experience as the reviews were so good but instead was left with old bland food and an expensive bill. The food was hardly consistent with anything that should cost as much as it did. And even some of the items seemed old and stale. The food made me have a rather bad stomach ache which unfortunately I dealt with for the rest of the day. All the items are so small and underwhelming, and it seemed more desert options then actual food. We ordered the celebration afternoon tea and we didn't even recieve the advertised champagne. Though to be honest by the time we should have got it I was already feeling so sick from the bad food and experience. The atmosphere in this place is amazing and the tea was great, though the tea pots really were poorly shaped and leaked tea easily. For the money you pay a nicer tea set would have been appreciated. Even my tea cup had slight stains and seemed a bit worn. Really a major disappointment for me overall as I was highly looking forward to a nice meal and a great afternoon tea experience.

Extremely knowledgable, take genuine pride in their jobs, and care about each and every guest. It is quite expensive, but you are paying for an experience, not a drink or meal. My sister and I decided to take my mother out for high tea. We got the Traditional platter for around 65$ per person. The high tea sandwiches and pastries were amazing! They all had different flavors. The service there was amazing, quick and prompt. Our server listened to our dietary concerns and had some recommendations. We tried the mint tea, and masala chai tea (ordered a side of steamed milk to go along with the chai tea). The macarons were a little too sweet, but the cucumber sandwiches were divine! The scones were marvelous! The staff at Fairmont Banff Springs employees were amazing, they were very friendly and polite. Definitely worth it and would have it again!

Loved the atmosphere and the varied seating arrangements. Was there in late November and the scenes outside were beautiful! Wifi was good enough that I was able to Skype with my husband. Also, you should definitely have the chocolate cake. They give you a little cup of chocolate sauce to spread on and yummmmmmmmm!!!

The view was stunning! I would go back for the view! Afternoon tea was ...somewhat disappointing. I loved their tea selection but scone, pastry stuff was disappointing. It would have been better if it was warm. It was worse than what 3 star hotel in London, UK serves.

We went for High Tea on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was so lovely. We did feel there could be a couple more savory items to even it out, but all items were delicious and so was the tea. You only get to chose one tea per person, it would be nice to try others as well. The view is spectacular, as was the service. It was pretty expensive but definitely worth the trip. We dressed up and I was disappointed there weren't more people getting into the spirit.

Where should I start? It was a disappointing dining experience. I paid $188 for two FESTIVE afternoon tea at Rundle Bar. Unfortunately, the food was obviously not freshly made. The scones were very dry to begin with. There was a small burger filled with CURRY egg salad, which is VERY CREATIVE, I suppose. Food, overall, was extremely bland and lack of quality. The experience was unpleasant. I left there with empty stomach and went straight back to downtown to get more food.

Rundle bar is an elegant and luxurious place to enjoy a drink. The service is fantastic, as you would expect from any Fairmont venue. The bar has a cool layout with an upper level they offers views outside or elevated views of the rest of the bar. The drinks are on point, but also as you’d expect from the Fairmont, expensive. Overall, a great bar for everything other than value but you do get what you pay for here.

The Rundle Bar is the central lounge in the Banff Springs Hotel, the space is very large and has the old world charm. The views out of the windows at night are beautiful. The drink menu is expansive with many unique cocktails to try and a large selection of wine, spirits and beer. The food is also very good, you absolutely need to try the crisps and dip, that dip is seriously the best dip I've every had in my life. They need to package it up and start selling it because I would buy a huge tub of it. The sushi was also really good, but everything pales in comparison to the dip!

Always have a great experience here, this time was different, ordered 5 steak sandwiches which are usually the best anywhere. I asked for medium, was told that I could only get med well. My parents and fiancée wanted well done. All 5 steaks came out rare as rare can get. I am very disappointed ????

We had Afternoon Tea at the Rundle during our stay the week before Christmas. Our Server Ankit was excellent and very knowledgeable about their teas. The cakes, salmon and tea were all excellent. My only regret is that we cannot visit more often. The view from our seats of the mountain was spectacular.
