Great service during the day but when I attended in the evening....I waited almost 20 minutes to be served altho it wasn't busy... the waiter cleaned tables and left me sitting unattended...I made my displeasure known and received lame excuses. I was not given any cutlery with my appetiser when the waiter finally took my order.

It didn't seemed like there was an manager or owner running the show. The lights were so bright for a Saturday night. Also, during the TML game there was no sound or music. Local beer was good and the waitress a new employee and was nice.

Very expensive, but the food is good and the portions are good. You may have to ask for things repeatedly though, but maybe my waiter was just having a bad day. Will update my experience the next time I go. Bonus is the free toy for your kid on the way out.

Great place to eat when your in Bancroft. Was driving through Bancroft with my young son and we decided to stop and get something to eat. We ended up going to the Bancroft Brew pub and all I can say is the food was great. They also had a nice selection of beers available. Would definitely recommend this place.

My wife and I had fish&chips here today. Portion size was good, the cole slaw was excellent, the chips reminded me of my young days in Scotland, and I thought the fish was close to perfect, and though my wife prefers a different style of batter, she enjoyed it too. My wife's dessert, carrot-cake cheese cake, was wonderful. Friendly server, prompt service, perhaps a little pricey, but overall a good experience.

Fabulous salad & soup! Piping hot coffee too! Service very fast & friendly... Decor was very trendy yet cozy & comfy. Husband’s birthday, so they brought him a surprise piece of birthday cheesecake. Washroom was nice & clean. Parked at side of restaurant... there is outdoor seating here but too cold in October! Loved the ambiance of this little gem ????. Highly Recommend ????

A good place for some basic pub and bar style food. Good cold beer, bunch of TV's all over the place so if you're going to watch the game or something of sports-related-importance, then you're solid. Foods good, my dad is in a weird love affair with one of the flavours of chicken wings there... the name escapes me, I want to say, like, moose? wings? I don't know. I'm useless. The foods good though, trust me.

Lots of great reviews about this place. Couldn't wait to check it out. Was a little disappointed. Sat ourselves. After 15 mins of not being acknowledged I went and grabbed 2 menu's. We decided what we wanted to drink and eat then had to ask for a waitress to come. They were understaffed and busy. I ordered medium steak and was cooked well done. My daughter had chicken ceasar wrap which looked good. It was a Sunday night so maybe they didn't figure it was going to be that busy. Waitresses were running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Another gem. We have been coming to Bancroft for years. But we never stopped in. Well, this time we did and were we glad?! Food was amazing and the Ceasars fabulous ????. Montreal meat on rye, brukrew chicken(my fave),steak w mashed potatoes and seasonal veg , For starters we had Bruschetta (yum O) and the pulled pork rolls I think. Soo good. If there is a line up, don't be discouraged. So worth the wait.

Seems to be the main (only) pub eatery in town; place is essentially a sports bar (given the TVs everywhere showing TSN) with local cultural decor adorning a faux-pioneer-esque architecture. Food is OK and suitably inexpensive. What makes it good isn't the food or decor (which isn't top notch) but the people. Very friendly, great sense of community. On a cold Canadian evening a good place to be.

We had the brew ha ha burgers and they were good. I'm not 100% certain, but I think the patties were made in house. If not, they've sources them from a top notch supplier. I also had the dark ale, which tasted suspiciously like a porter. Anyway, our first visit was a good experience and we'll be back again sometime.

Passing into town, I though there would be a lot of novelty in eating and having a pint at the Bancroft brewery in Bancroft Ontario. My love and I walked into the entrance, with a plain table for two empty in our line of sight. In the door, there was no visible sign inviting us to seat ourselves, so we stood at the doorway and waited to be invited in. We waited while three different servers asked us to wait in succession with a "someone will be with you shortly" as the table for two sat empty, wanting to be seated. After seven minutes of looking at that table in the entrance foyer, we decided to eat somewhere else.

We've been to the Bancroft Brew Pub many times. Without fail, service is friendly. Our visit this time was no different. Our waitress was busy yet bubbly. Sitting around us were many tourists but also some local residents. It gave a nice community feeling. The food was pub style food which hit the spot. There is a dedication theme throughout the photos hung around, namely showing the rich history of that corner of Bancroft and in particular the building itself. Overall rating...you won't be disappointed.

My Server Jordan was ripping around doing fantastic work really fast service I got a burger beer and poutine The poutine has a nice rich beef gravy really delicious. Not too heavy on the curds but there was definitely enough. Burger clearly hand pressed, well spiced, and good cheese. Sauted mush was a nice touch Beer also wasn't bad for craft im usually not a fan but fam its hard to find something wrong with this place. 5 stars really glad I stopped

Patio is dog-friendly! Huge plus in my books. Patio had a couple empty dirty tables, ended up being seated at one of the dirty tables and had to wait for a waitress to come by and clean up. Food is slightly expensive, but it is a tourist area so that makes sense. The salad was delicious, the pretzel bread was slightly burnt. Overall a good experience, but not above and beyond my expectations.

My coworkers and I came here for dinner, and none were impressed. My Black Bean burger was smothered in cheese, which dripped down and burnt along with the patty. As a side I ordered the cream of mushroom soup and it was extremely oily. My coworker ordered Buffalo chicken poutine, that miraculously came out without any cheese. Another coworker ordered the Bangers n Mash and could hardly eat it. Her mashed potatoes and gravy had to have come from a bag, and the gravy was mostly congealed when the food came out. To be fair, they did cut the price of the poutine in half and didn’t charge us for the Bangers n Mash. What was almost worse than the food was the non-stop chatter coming from the kitchen. During our entire time at the restaurant, we listened to what I would describe as an excessive amount of clapping two stainless steel spatulas together. We also listened to the staff hollering and joking around, and a member of the kitchen staff who was laughing extremely loudly and uncontrollably during almost the entire meal. I was not impressed by the food but I was shocked at the behaviour of the staff. It very much seemed like they were a group of teenagers who do not care about being professional at their job or about the food they are serving to customers. While the comp’d meals were appreciated, we would’ve rather just enjoyed a tasty, quiet dinner.

Amazing! The beer was delicious and the food was excellent! I had their take on a club house and it was fantastic! House fries were on point also! My partner's fish & chips was equally good! Amazing, perfectly crispy, batter. Can't forget the staff who were hustling full steam and still extremely friendly and attentive! Price was very reasonable. I will definitely be dining here again soon!

Food was great, but the prices were very high for a pub style restaurant, especially the onion petals - they were great and all, but $14 for what ended up being a tiny basket of them (I half expected a full "Blooming Onion" or something for that price) was just off way base. We ordered takeout burgers - delicious! The brewed tea bbq sauce on mine was a tasty addition and the drippings were great on the fries. The onion and tomato toppings were fresh, too. The service was super friendly. What does all this add up to? You should go there!

This place was recommended to me and I was told to enjoy the buffalo chicken wrap - it did not disappoint! Good food, the menu has good variety. They have local beer on tap and great staff. If you choose to eat outside it's nice but noisy as it's on a busy street.

The food was good and quite unique for pub fair. I had the special which was a delicious rib eye flatbread and my wife had the chicken tacos. Of course the beer was delicious. Unfortunately our waitress seemed to be having a bad day and wasn't exactly friendly from the get go. Patio was o.k. but a little noisy because it's next to the highway. The safety protocols for COVID-19 were done well. I'll have to give this place a second chance.

Everytime I go there the food is great and the ambiance is wonderful. the Local Brewery knocks it out of the park everytime. The only struggle is every time we go in there it is like they are under staffed so it takes awhile to get food, or hail a server to ask for something as they are run off their feet.

Not very impressed. Ordered tea & coffee 2 apps and 2 meals. My tea did not not even fill my cup and it took forever to get a pot refill. Had to chase the server for 1 coffee refill. Apps were good but not noteworthy (nachos and artichoke dip). The salmon was dry and burnt like jerkey. The bed of quinoa and vegetables were just gross looking. Over cooked and dull looking brussel sprouts with carrots and pea soup looking sauce. The mac and cheese was okay. The duo sausage looked and tasted like pork sausage and was cut in 4ths like a mom does for their child. $82.00!!!!

Great staff, good food and ambiance. Would recommend! I had the beef dip and sweet potato fries.. the beef was lovely! Tender and juicy and the bun was soft and tasty! This place is Amazing! Went here back in July and still I remember it as though it were yesterday. In following social distance protocols the group of 4 I was with got a table at the edge of the patio. The weather was finicky that day so the possibility of rain was uncertain and we didn't have the Canvas over head, it was just a flimsy umbrella that likely would not save us all from getting wet, if it did rain. Thankfully it did not. Their menu is great with a lot of options and accomodations for those with atypical eating habits (ie. Gluten free/ veg head/ etc). I got the Black Quartz Burger, cool ring to the name eh. This was a made in house black bean burger that was very delicious. I asked for extra mustard, thats my condiment of choice and I was pleasently surprised when they did not bring out French's or the other Quality Choice generic kind. They brought me something I hadn't seen before. From the city, I was definitely happily surprised. Additionally, I ordered a side of the lattice fries. When faced with the choice of fries; shoe string, sweet potatoe, or lattice the choice can be a hard one. I got the special lattice fries because I was feeling extra special. Our sever was a server extraordinaire! They made us laugh, was professional in their demeanour, they were friendly, and simply went above and beyond. The total of my order with a root beer too, came to just over $20, which is a pretty remarkable price. And to top off my experience, they have these old saw wheels on the wall outside. Pretty sure this one was painted. Their indoors looked equally creative and artistic. Definitely a top- notch experience all round. Would 100% return, when given the opportunity.

We had high hopes, the staff seemed nice, it was very clean, and a big menu. Unfortunately, the food was ‘meh’. For $12 you can have pulled pork egg rolls, but only 2 and they are small. A plate full of fries was $4, which seemed appropriate. We both had salads, I ordered the ceaser salad, which was also $12. Nice generous portion, but there was SO much of some weird bacon crumble (not fresh) it was gross. When I said something to to waitstaff their answer was, ‘ya, there’s a lot.’ We paid the bill and left. Wouldn’t recommend.

Great location, nice beers, good food. Service, very slow. When I got there all the empty tables were dirty. I sat at the cleanest and waited quite a while for someone to clean it. There was a large closed section, but a family of four was seated there rather than someone cleaning the four seat table in the open section. Beer and food took a long time to arrive. The marquee burger was good, though the thick party was uninspiring on its own. If I am in the same area I will go again; the slow service may not be common.

I have to say, the most noticeable thing I experienced was how fast the service was. The food came so quickly that I didn’t have time to think to grab a pic of it. On top of that, the food looked delicious and it WAS delicious. Highly recommend the thunder crunch sandwich, and their beers are tasty as well as reasonably priced. When we are back in the are I am sure to come back.

I went in a week ago Thirsday night. I waited at the door for about 15 minutes til the couple in front of me was seated then went to the bar to order takeout. The guy at the bar completely ignored me for more than 10 minutes so I went home and called. After 10 rings they answered. I ordered a dozen wings. I went to pick them up and waited another 10 minutes. The guy working had time to talk to girls at the door but still completely ignored me. A girl finally brought me my wings. I got home and realized I paid over 17.00 for twice cooked shriveled up wings. I was in for wings once before and they were really good, different people working. This last time I got completely turned off.

This is a lovely pub. Staff was actually helpful with food and beer choices. As it is a pub we stuck to food we felt the kitchen would be good at. Simple, standard fare like burgers and quesadillas. We were right. Burgers are made with fresh, not frozen patties. Fries were crisp and not greasy. The quesadilla was grilled perfectly with small pieces of chicken in it. Both were substantial. This is a Brew Pub and they had several options. The recommended brew was flavourful. Due to COVID we could only eat on the patio. It's a lovely spot with a great view up Hastings Ave and the Eagle Nest park. The only hitch was the volume of loud trucks and motorcyclists. We will go again? Absolutely.

Had a great meal here. Only complaint is they deep fry fish in the same oil as the chicken strips... allergies to fish makes that an unfortunate situation. Had steak instead. It was good. There's a great variety of food and drink choices. Perhaps sit away from the fans as they cool the food down not to mention the people sitting under them. All in all it was a great experience.

The only problem yesterday was none of the sidewalks had been cleared of snow We had to step out of our car with snow over ankles and walk up the the street in snow/slush to the restaurant. Most of the town sidewalks were the same Yet two banks had someone clearing their sidewalks. We are in our 70’s and the snow is a big problem with a mobility issue.

Service was slow told to seat ourselves and waited a while to even be asked for our drink order which by then we were ready to order our food. Not a lot of items on the menu came with sides. When I asked if I could get a side of poutine the waitress was kind of hesitant and said I guess that’s kind of a loophole in our menu right now. I think she said this because the sides were supposed to be add ons for the sandwich’s but when adding a poutine as a side for the wings that’s not the way it was supposed to go? Food tasted all right now. Pretty generic pub food.

Food is boring predictable pub fare lacking flavor. Don’t order the salmon, not sure what the red sauce it was coated in was supposed to be but it’s was not good. Suggestion for the cook - tour some respectable pubs in Peterborough or the GTA & take notes. Food can be good without being fancy and Bancroft can benefit from more good food.

Visited Bancroft this summer and went to the Brew Pub for lunch. We had a fairly large group but the staff were accommodating to seat us. The Patio has great people watching. The food was excellent Pub style food. Burgers, sandwiches etc. The only complaint I have is the truck traffic going through town was excessive.

Thoroughly unimpressed.. not only was it overpriced but there was an automatic 12% gratuity charge for pick up, without being told, and then tipped when picking it up on the machine when prompted because we were not aware of the additional charge. Alright, so my husband and I went there last September during our extended honeymoon tour through Ontario and the fact that I actually took the time and looked up the place ONE YEAR LATER (because I forgot the name and even the town it was in, we were really just passing) simply because my husband will absolutely not shut up about the burger tells something for itself I think. Servers and the place were nice but the food really slayed it for us! To this day my husband still swears this was his favourite burger he had while we were in the country.

My mom and I came to the Bancroft Brew Pub for some patio beers and dinner, needless to say we got that plus more! The pub is located on a corner, and when sitting on the patio outside on the weekend, you have entertainment for hours! The chicken wings are BY FAR the best at any pub I’ve been too, even in downtown Toronto! They have lots of salad options for different palates as well. Nice spot, attached to brewery . Good beers brewed on site and pretty good menu but very busy. Service was bad as they were noticeably understaffed. Other than that, I would definitely return if I was up cottaging.

Wow. Just left there. A great spot but service is terrible. Wait 15 min for a refill. Orders screwed up. Charged more than what was on menu. I understand its busy but it was a clusterfk of mistakes all afternoon long.

Absolutely fantastic! The food was amazing! The flavor as we savoured each morsel left us craving the next bite. The portions as well we're better than expected. Without a doubt I will definitely return for more of this wonderful place. Bancroft Brew Pub, keep up the good work!

We were there on Saturday June 16 for a Drag Queen Show .This was out first time at this pub and can't say enough positive things about it .... The experience was warm and very welcoming! The staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was so inviting ????Food was delicious and prices are very good . There is something for everyone at this little pub .If ever in Bancroft it's a great place to wind down and meet some nice people ????

The staff is wonderful. Clearly very hard working and trying to do the best under crazy circumstances of patio only and take out. The wings, which is what we had, need work. For a classic pub food, very disappointing. The so called ghost wing sauce lacks ghost peppers and spice, the hot is mild at best by any standards even if u try to throw in catering to non spicy eating touristy audience. The recipe as well could improve, when an air fryer can produce better tasting wings, marinate and salt might help.

Best quality craft beer I have had in a long time. Lines are clean, the food was amazing. The staff work hard but when it gets really busy sometimes it can take a while to get a drink/ order food. Eclectic atmosphere Kareoke nights. All round cool place.

my first experience here was okay. In June 2019 my mom and so I spent an evening enjoying chicken wings and beverages. It was good. Customer service could’ve been more attentive but food & prices were fair. Today (09/26/20) I called to see if they were accepting reservations. She said yes, but she couldn’t promise patio. That’s fine, but she kept saying “good luck” as if that was an impossible and irrational request. Sorry? She never took my name or number down, either. Safe to say we didn’t even bother. Good food and experience(last summer) but the service over the phone was so rude and dismissive today I didn’t want to even go. Dave’s Place down the road is always happy to see us (we come from far out of town) and I regret ever giving business here over Dave’s.
