Hard to sum up in a comment. So many beautiful nights at Stereo, and tho this is way overdue, this club needs no vote from me. I've been there in big groups, I've taken dates and I've gone solo and have loved it literally from downbeat to last everytime. The floor, the sound, the people, the management (except when they briefly decided to provide free HOT water lol (forgiven), have made it a club that just feels like home. It's warm, welcoming, diverse, unsketchy, super vibey and amazing sounding. Did I mention how fkn deadly great it sounds, like everywhere inside? I've been to ranked clubs in London, Amsterdam, Shanghai, NYC, Chicago, Miami, SF, LA etc. and they've all been great, but not like Stereo. It is somehow always cool yet totally un pretentious, surprising every tome but magically and predictably cool. Stereo ain't huge, but it's enormously correct on so many levels - highly recommended for any age, gender, sex pref, music pref, freak or foil. Stereo is perfect. Enjoy!

They have bar time and after party time. Both the same deep house. Same music just bigger room. And when I was checked by a security, the guy cut the line, didn't say anything. Worst club I ever been to. Not worth the money. 10 for cover 20 for after party.

Intolerable. I took friends from the US here and I was so depressed and embarrassed. They took my GUM at the entrance because they considered it contraband aka they sell it in their vending machines and want you to buy it. Having gum confiscated out of my pocket was actually the most classically grotesque Montreal experience and it made me want to leave here and never ever come back. Policies like this are why this city is dying :(

Great place to finish off your night dancing till wee hours in the morning. The sound system is incredible and the dance floor is great. Although I’m not so much into techno/deep house, the DJs were pretty sweet. Or I guess the sound system made up for it. Only giving it 4 stars because the guy:girl ratio was pretty terrible.

Seems to be the only place open in Montreal late. Dope sound system. If you're coming from New York it's somewhere in between Space and Schmanski/Verboten. Bathrooms were disgusting but that's expected. Also since it opens at 3 they don't serve alcohol... :/ Bar serves water/soft drinks/ red bull. The bartenders do expect a tip, I really didn't think you should tip for a bottle of water but since I got a little attitude the second time I learned they do expect a tip.

Was thinking three stars but I'll rate 4 because the music was actually pretty good. I really liked the lights, man were they on point ???? Drinks we okay, dancing was very fun and everyone wears kinda whatever attire they want... Even shirtless haha. They manage the place well and I'm sure they have to since many young kids go 18-21. Peak times were from 3-6am.

We entered about 11, paid 4 bucks for wardrobe and that's it, cheapest entrance in my life:) Music is techno-house-trance style, so not for everybody, but really great for dance and some head clean-up))) The place is dark style, with great sound and light system, there's always people dancing around, so you won't be alone to rave:) I really recommend and would come again and again.

The woman at the front was incredibly rude to us. She humiliated us because we couldn't speak French. She wore glasses. She was rude, insinsitive and entirely unprofessional. Saying "she wouldn't repeat herself" when we couldn't understand her accent or were unsure of exactly what the rules and regulations were. Never going back. And if you're a tourist, I definitely don't recommend going back. Rude and unprofessional. If I could rate it a negative rating because of this woman, I would. She should be fired.

It cost 30$ per person, the music was way too loud and the music was ultra repetitive like the same beat for 20 minutes none stop. I really feel you need to be drunk or on drugs to enjoy this place. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Don't even bother to go here.m.just go to the club until 3 am. I left after 30 minutes... really disappointed

One of my sanctuaries. The sickest world renowned DJ/Producers and mind blowing sound system. Yes, steep entrance fees but totally worth it. They sell out quickly depending on the artist. You don’t even need drugs to enjoy dancing to the music here, let yourself loose. Leave your judgmental self at the door.

Edit: I'm ready to give ((())) another chance when things reopens. Horrible experience. I was with 3 friends with valid tickets for the Stephan Bodzin show. The staff members refused to let me in with a physical ticket because it was damaged by water. The ticket and hologram was still visible & I arrived a few minutes before it was open. They didn't even allowed me to pay for another ticket before 5 AM when they finally reopened the sales. Best nightclub in the world. I've been around different techno clubs in the world but this is a whole other experience. Especially when Hernan Cattaneo and Nicole Moudabber play there. They kill it. I love the crowd, the staff and the sound system which is amazing and well studied. Even the lighting. Keep up the good work stereo, hopefully you can extand the business around the world so everyone could have a chance of trying the stereo experience.

One of the best clubs in the world, continually attracting top name DJs. Amazing sound system and awesome atmospheric lighting. Crowd is generally pretty mixed straight/gay and usually very open and friendly. Everyone is there for a good time and to dance to some great music. This is an after-hours so (obviously) there is no alcohol served and entry fee is usually pretty steep. Shows often sell out, so plan ahead.

PROS: kick-ass sound system and dope beats CONS: entrance cover way overpriced at $55; girl taking my money at entrance was condescending; door guys searched me like I was a terrorist; small bottled water for $6 each (price gouging to the max); girl tending bar who sold me the bottled waters was also condescending in regards to tipping. Wow, just wow. Words wouldn't do this club justice. The sound system is phenomenal. I have traveled throughout Europe and been to many clubs including some infamous Berlin ones (you know what I am talking about) and this is up there if not even better. The atmosphere is fantastic it's just one of love for both music and each other. It's an experience like no other. If you love music and dancing there's no better place to do that than Stereo. Bravo!

Great sound system, however ridculus rules such as no in & out after an hour of opening, no jacket inside the club even if you're cold, too much security checking as if it's an airport etc. The music wasn't too bad, wasn't spectacular either. Stereo, one of the best sound systems in the world thats for sure! Clean bass is amazing... This place is located near the gay village so expect gay people, no place for discrimination here. People are amazing and respectful everyone is on their own vibe. This place is an after-hours rave so it starts at 2AM, but the best starts around 5AM, they do not serve alcohol because its an after-hours however there is StereoBar which is downstairs but there is fee after midnight(-_-). Recommended but, It would be nice if they play different style of music sometimes and if the bouncers would be less rude, and the bathrooms are dirty sometimes.

Everytime is an amazing experience unlike the generic Hip Hop and RNB club scene in the city. The crowd is awesome and it is a great place to socialize. Shoutout to the world renowned DJs and artists playing there! Fancy bathroom stalls and VIP seating area. Pro tip: Despite tight security, there are people doing hard drugs in the smoking area. Be very careful to not attempt to sneak in any.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I felt inclined to review this place because of how bad it was, and I never do reviews. As an 18 yr old female in a foreign country, this place gave me the absolute creeps. looks nothing like the pictures online and no disco ball. There are plenty of good clubs in Montreal, but this is not one of them. First off, we get to the night club around 11 PM. We walked down the stairs into complete darkness. No sign outside saying the name of the nightclub, but the address was right. The bouncer says it is free before 12. We’re excited because we look this place up on trip advisor and it has very high ratings. We go in and pay for coat check. Then the security guy frisks me and my boyfriend. He stamps us on the arm with the phrase “URGENT!”, a little weird but whatever. Finally we get in. We enter a room full of older people. Almost everyone I saw was at least 35 years old. The DJ was playing some terrible creepy techno music with no words at all. My boyfriend goes to the bar to get a drink and they tell him that he has to pay for a whole Redbull to get a Jager bomb. It’s expensive so my friend declines and gets himself a beer and a (seriously overpriced) bottle of water. We normally tip at bars, but the guy so rudely told my friend about the prices that he did not think of it. The guy then proceeds to lean in and tell him that hey just so you know tip is not included so you need to tip. My bf reluctantly obliges. No one else said anything like this the whole time we were in Montreal. Bartender then gave us some made up story about how he makes no money bartending there. We leave to sit down and are surrounded by old bald men and 45 yr old women. Even tho I am clearly there with someone, men are creepily staring at me intensely the whole 45 mins we were there. This isn’t out of the ordinary but I was not dressed up or anything and it was relentless. I did not feel safe. I had to use the bathroom so we go ask where it is. He directs us both in the same direction. We walk in to discover everything looks like an optical illusion. If you were heavily drunk you would probably get seriously hurt or lose your group of people you are with. The lights are so dim we can’t see anything. The bathroom is unisex and there are men just pissing in the open and the bathroom stall had concrete floors and wooden walls. Really scary. I go out to find my boyfriend and get lost. Finally I find him after some creeps tried grabbing at me in the bathroom. We come out and I agree to stay and wait it out until at least 12:30. I try to take a pic of the nightclub on Snapchat and some dude comes over to me and yells at me saying “no pictures of video allowed.” Finally when it started getting “busy”, I realized that everyone on the dance floor was clearly on something. Everyone swaying creepily, and no one really actually dancing. We finally left around 12:45 and the coat check people wanted us to pay extra just in case we “came back.” We said no thanks and left. If you’re looking for a younger crowd, decent music, decent prices, and overall good vibes, this is not the place for you.

This place was misleading and a rip off. If you are not into techno music then I wouldn’t recommend this place. The cover charge is $15 and they have a MANDATORY coat charge of $5. The bartender AND coat hanger were very rude. The bartender lied to me and said it would not be techno music the whole night which it was. The strob lights and stereo system are great but definitely not a footloose dancing vibe. Also, it is a very young crowd and there is no second floor. The reviews are very misleading so I just wanted to inform everybody of what it is really like before you drop at least $20 which is not refundable.

Giving this two stars because the sound system is very good, but techo is not my cup of tea. Lots of ppl on clearly drugs, most people can’t stop moving back and forth. No drinks served as it was after hours. Staff does give effort to be efficient. Not a bad place, just don’t personally like techo (went for a bachelor party and the bachelor likes techo so didn’t want to be a sore thumb)

There's no place like ((( HOME ))) ! If you like good music and dancing all night long, this is the place to be ! The 5$ water bottle, which sounds overpriced at first but isn't if you think about it for a second (after hour club = no liquor = their only income with entrance fee, which is relatively cheap (usually 15~35$) considering the quality and quantity of time spent in there), is ESSENTIAL. I will repeat this once more, always bring an extra 5 bucks to buy a water bottle for you and your friends, you'll thank me later ;-)

This is a must check out place if you are in Quebec and if you enjoy drag shows. If you are not into drag shows then they do have a club as well but it seemed a little dead to me. This place gets packed very quickly so it's best to check the show time and arrive on time otherwise it might be difficult to see anything.

great night club. Love the music, the crowd. The only drawback is the staff. The very definition of low rent. Here's a few of the line of regulars who work there that you can not miss. The very tall ginger bouncer with a big pot belly in his late 20's or eary 30's (You cant tell under that beard and jello look) who is always dropping the F bomb on any random patron he takes a fancy to. You would think with the music at that noise level would cancel his raging cuss words but unfortunately no such luck. Seems like he's a banshee in addition to being the pillbury doug boy. Then there's always the cant find a job so I am checking stamps guy. If you ask him anything he does not know. Seriously try it. I sometimes wonder if he knows how to take a bath. Not the nicest smelling chap But hey works wonders in getting people to climb the stairs faster to get to the music. However the club is still great enough to overlook the ginger banshee and the human stamp machine as the music and ambiance is just that good.
