I have no complaints about my experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was amazing. The only reason I rated 4 instead of 5 starts is because they needs better organization. We were being served by 3 different servers throughout the night (all were amazing) and there was a lot of confusion about everyone's drink and food orders. It was very busy and I'm sure it was a mixture of being overwhelmed and being a fresh business. Excited to see what comes of it. The tappy hour and wing Wednesday meals are amazing .

First and foremost the staff here are amazinginly nice and helpful. Great launch night. The game selection is pretty varied. There was pacman, house of the dead bubble bobble, house of the dead (one gun), pinball machines,pong, deer hunter, strike1945,a punch machine, foosball, THEY HAVE NBA JAM. etc. They are getting in 20 more machines later, with a variety of them being fighting games! We had samples of all the dishes on offer and the fried cauliflower was the highlight. The jackfruit bao was really unique and interesting!The servers as I mentioned, were super patient as we did our vlogging and Photos, so that was super nice of them. The general manager is very down to earth and really great to talk to.The door staff were also very accommodating. Security was not intimidating and had friendly smiles. I only had the signature peach Bourbon and that was just right. The main area will be normal wed-thur, while fri-sat seating will be removed for more traditional dance floor. There is seating both for large parties and smaller groups. Not too much for intimate couple seating. The smaller seating is around 4 People. There is seating at the bar. There are two washrooms boy/girl. Theres a an atm as well. Coat check is also available. Great overall first impressions. Keep it up!

Although not my favorite setup, this is a decent venue for a show. Went there for the first time to see Badbadnotgood. They put on an awesome show. The sound was decent, but the chatter near the bar area can get loud. The drummer requested that the crowd quiet down for a couple of the songs to no avail. I think it was a combination of people being rude and the echo-y acoustics of the venue. All in all, I would definitely return for another show, despite a couple of minor annoyances.

Inside "security" at Metal concerts. Last night, I attended the Metal concert featuring Lord Dying, Obituary and Black Label Society. As a patron of whom paid to see the bands (as a long time fan of the latter bands), hear the music that I'm very passionate of, and have an appreciation for the venue, I was extremely disappointed in the obstruction and lack of attention to detail as to the purpose of why FANS OF THE BANDS are in attendance: it's to see the bands. Meaning, we're not there to have a person become a permanent fixture in any of the pictures or videos, that were supposed to have the band members in, known as "security". Now, I am fully aware of and appreciate the purpose of instilling authority figures for the purpose of safety. In fact, that's understandable and it's respectable because sometimes things do get out of hand. Of the numerous Metal concerts that I've been to, over the last several years, there's a relative sense of calm and respect that I've witnessed for what's supposed to be "aggressive" music. Anyway, and my point is, as I was standing to the far left of the stage, there was one security individual that practically became a permanent fixture in my pictures. Yeah, I eventually had to zoom in and do my best at eliminating his not-so-fit figure out of the frame, but even that was a challenge. For example, the next time that you go to a movie theatre, and someone in front of you stands up for the entire show, imagine the anguish and frustration that'll take place. On top of that, imagine paying $50+ for a ticket to watch the bands and hear the music that you love, and then having someone who's not even part of the show obstruct your viewing of it. And moving to another location would have forced me even further away from the stage, because the place was packed. Yeah, I'm beyond disappointed with the sheer and utter ignorance. Bottom line, yes, security is necessary to ensure the safety of the patrons attending the events. That should go without mentioning. But the placement of the security personnel should also play a factor, as well as these individuals fully understanding situational awareness. The main floor had a number of security personnel, right in front of the elevated stage, with only one of them standing right in front of me (and many around me), on the same level, and obscuring the view. That's unacceptable. Either raise the stage for better viewing, have the non-pit/center stage security sit down, or exercise something else that's effective.

Pretty wild time, I just wish there was a quite spot where you can go to just talk and relax before going back to the dance floor.

It’s unbelievable that the bathroom was left in the state that it was. 2/3 urinals full of vomit, bathroom stall floor covered in vomit and blood. I talked to a staff member and they didn’t have any interest in cleaning up the washroom. It was before 11pm when this all happened and wasn’t cleaned once.

Save your money. We were charged $8 cover apiece. They have no draft beer and charge insane prices for cans of standard cheap beer. DJ was terrible, and cranked and so loud that you had to yell to talk to a friend one foot away from you. The arcade machines they have are good, but there's not much selection and you have to pay for them too despite already paying too much for beer and cover. In the hour or so we were there we saw frat boys shoving each other and it took a long time for security to get involved. Wanted to check it out one time and it was one time too many. I could see this place being alright if it were open earlier, didn't charge cover and had cheaper/better drinks. Unless drastic change happens I'm never going back.

I have been to this place twice now, once for wing Wednesday and once for Taco Thursday.Their Tappy Hour specials of Garlic Fries, Hot Dog and Beer are a must. Their Wings are good. I would Skip the tacos even at half price. Found the staff to be super friendly and attentive. My new go to for a reasonably priced weeknight outing,

Had a great time at Midway. Security is very professional and the staff is nice. Club has huge dance floor, music is great for the younger crowd and everyone had a great time. Drink prices are reasonable and entry fee is the same. Gets extremely crowded after 11, so try and get there to avoid the lines outside. Overall, amazing night and a great place to go to for parties and celebrations; one of the better spots to do so in Edmonton for sure.

Only had one Token Machine which was broken at the time, so none of the arcade games were playable. Not that any of them were particularly great. Lots of using pop culture related iconography trying to sell lame games. Food was average, the bar and dancefloor seemed to be the only draw to the building. Lots of space, but can get crowded. Takes a while to get in. Staff were all friendly to me though, I hold nothing against them. If you're mostly into drinking and big crowds, then this is for you. If you're into games, hanging out where you can talk and hear each other, or listening to music that isn't bland club remixes of pop songs I'd recommend elsewhere.

Fun but crowded. Definitely for a younger crowd. Only a couple arcade games that are always. Definitely not the place to go for a quiet night. No beer on tap and drinks are unreasonably expensive. If u are looking to blow 150 on 6 drinks this is your place. Finally, they don’t have a phone number to call that actually contacts a person. That being said u can’t ask the most basic of question unless emailing them and going through lengthy processes.

Bar layout is cool, Wouldn't recommend the food the poutine wasn't tasteful, Drinks are 20% pop and 80% Ice and they charge you for refills. Cool if you're going for the bar but wouldn't suggest the food. Took 10 minutes to get the bill

I came here to attend a concert and was pleasantly surprised. The sound was okay, better than i expected from a place this size. The place is definitely standing room only and you should plan on keeping your drink in your hand at all times because there's really no place to set it down but as live music venues go, these guys are pretty good. They're on my watchlist now and the next time they host a band I want to hear I will not hesitate to buy a ticket.

Visited during their opening weekend, and love what they have going on. Good food, great drinks, tons of games and so much fun to be had! Jan 2020: Revisited with colleagues after work for a Wing Wednesday, and again it was great food, deceivingly yummy nachos, and $3.75 happy hour draft! I really don't think a person can go wrong - still 5 stars for me. Keep up the hospitality hustle Team Midway!!

Nicely setup only half of the place is open on weekdays and could use some more games. Went for the wing Wednesday and was totally worth it the flavors were great. Would like to see a couple more dry variations like Cajun & lemon pepper in the future for those on limited diets but overall experience was good will definitely check it out again and leave another review at a later date!

Wings were not bad only issue was my order got missed it took long much longer to get my food than usual, staff did apologize for the error but they could have taken something off my bill to make up for it, still overall a good experience.

We had a great time here! We took advantage of their .25 cent wings and they were delicious. Drinks were reasonably priced, the games were significantly cheaper than other arcade bars we’ve been too, and when they couldn’t make our churros because the dryer was too hot from all the wings they offered us another dessert on the house. We are excited to have more date nights here! The staff were super friendly and had good menu suggestions. Just a friendly tip to bring cash for the token machine. They have an ATM but no one likes ATM fees!

Hu was A+. Venue is OK. Sound was little off and place was hot and crowded for pandemic, lotta maskless people. Nice staff though. Got my buddy water when he felt sick and showed up quick when someone collapsed but surprised they didn't pause show. Drinks are pricey but decent. Games are fun.

I was denied entry at the front door becuase my addidas 3 stripe pants (pants that don't stretch) happened to be styled like "sweat pants" with a waist band and zip up pockets so I wouldn't loose things/could be comforable. The fabric isint even close to that of sweatpants and they are more like khakys and the fabric doesn't stretch but whatever ive never heard of an arcade bar with a dress code lol.. two trips of cab fare and wasted time.

Had a terrible time last night got to the bar around 12 and stood in line for a hour. The friend I was with just found out one of there close friends had just died and was hysterical tried exaplaining everything to the bouncer and he told me to get lost. We just wanted to warm up and try to calm down but he would have nothing to do with us. People were getting in fights all around us and some guy punched me in the face and the bouncers did absolutely nothing they just watched

Was here the other day.. Food was alright; nothing to brag about. Some of the arcade games were used and showing their age. With one token machine and atm in the pace. I can see that being frustrating for customers. Greta and Rec Room doing the wristband/card and having newer games/technology Midway just seems like it was a rushed business model. Now that beercade and what was denizen have been around for a while. The arcade bar hype in Edmonton is gone. Nothing really puts this one over the top. In my opinion. No need to return. I don't think it's going to last past the cold months

Great club, came on a Saturday night, place was packed. Unfortunately I was standing in the wrong line. There was heating in the line if you got lucky. Place has a massive dance floor, bunch of arcades and a centralized bar. Coat check uses your phone number for verification so no more losing your ticket which is great. There is a in house kitchen with some food items. Arcades run on tokens and currently take cash only. Place is very open and there is limited seating. Moderate amount of parking. I think i remember only seeing one washroom and it was small.

The staff were really nice, but didn't seem to know much about the room. For example, the games were shut down during the headliners performance (appreciated!) But no one seemed to know if or when they'd be turned back on after the performance. Very good sound in the room. The bathrooms were pretty disgusting. There is even layers of dust on the toilet paper dispensers. They advertise craft beer but only have cans of cheap domestic at premium prices. It would be nice if they had more games, not nearly as many as you would expect.

I went here and I was able to see GWAR and play Mario Kart in the same room. The beers were cold, decent price and coat check didn't lose my stuff. 10/10 would see GWAR there again.

The atmosphere is good, drinks are good, bartenders are great. Dj is terrible, bouncers are terrible, had people throwing stuff at us and choke my friend all that the bouncers did was give them a warning and look like decorations. Hire better bouncers.

I went here with a group of friends on the 13th. We were all perfectly healthy and it’s the only place we have all gone together. We all have covid now. It’s pretty obvious we caught it at Midway….would recommend not going if you don’t want to catch covid. It was fun though ????????‍♀️

This is the place that had to close and rebrand itself after killing 2 people. Now it isn't doing vaccine passports or following any covid protocols whatsoever, possibly killing even more people. How do they still have a license? There are TONNES of ethical clubs in the city that actually do care about their patrons, I have no idea why anyone would choose to go to this one.

Unfortunately this isn't the first time I've had an issue like this at Midway. Firstly, showing up for the Gwar show on the 4th, they didn't check ID, proof of vax or even our tickets upon arrival. They just opened up the front doors and let the entire lineup in at once which was very surprising. The thing that disappoints me the most is the bartenders. Same drink order, 4 different bartenders, 4 different prices. The first bartender shorted our change, which we had to confirm "wait...how much was that? Yeah you only gave us $0.50 instead of $5.50." Second bartender quickly defaulted to premium liquors and then when he went to give us our bill and it was astronomical, my friend informed me that she had seen him grab the top shelf liquor(it was also a flavoured vodka when we said JUST vodka) and then we clarified that no, we only wanted the well liquor, he was irritated and hastily poured another. He also grabbed a bottle of Crown Apple, went to pour our shots and I had said "no no, we asked for Jack Daniels." He said, "I don't have any, you can have this". I said, no thanks....that's not exactly an acceptable replacement(to which 10 minutes later there was a bottle of Jack behind the bar. Third bartender, different pricing - we questioned it(SAME drink order) and she said that after a certain time of the night, the drink prices change. 4th bartender at a different satellite bar was back to the original pricing from earlier on in the evening. I know good help is hard to find but honestly I find the price issues a little shady.

Came in Saturday went to one bar and ordered a double. The guy pressed the button once and gave me a single. Went to another bar with my girlfriend and we both ordered doubles. The girl pressed the button twice and sprayed across both cups. We both got a single. Both of us are bartenders. The shortpouring here is SHAMELESS, no managers in sight

Good deals. Wasn't busy while I was there but it's off season. So no complaints. Tokens are bigger reward for the bigger bill which is a change for its competition. Thursday are half off tacos and tequila. Downside no dance floor but no need if it isn't busy.

Have only gone on wing night never been in the club side my bf has and he loves it. The wings were amazing and great pricing now that things are opening again I plan to hit the club side. I only knew it as the ranch but am excited to see what they did with the place everyone I know goes here so I have no doubt it'll be a great time

Ventured to Midway tonight for wings and wasn’t disappointed. Flavours were top notch and selection of beers on tap was very appealing. Their spin on happy hour (4-7pm vs the regular 3-6pm) was a nice change. Atmosphere is fun for any group size. Our waiter was hilarious and attentive. I’ll definitely be back.
