The club is really small and there is not much crowd. People are not dressed nicely and too casual. The lady at the entrance didn't take any money from her friends which is unfair. We went there after seeing the good reviews on Google. Didn't enjoy much, music wasn't that good as well. I would have rated it a 1 star but gave 2 because the entry fee was $8 which is inexpensive so I guess you get what you pay for.

Have to be a fan of the style. Went here on a friend's recommendation, shocked by the $16 cover charge. Happy we decided to pre-drink, as nothing on the booze menu was worth spending any money on. Spent about 45 minutes on site, trying to enjoy a dance floor that felt more like a cattle car with a subwoofer. Left as soon as another patron vomited on my shoes, then tried to make conversation. If you really like house music, and being stoned out of your mind. Sure, this place would be great. I tend to like remembering what I did on my weekends though.

Sad to say that such an amazing city has a terrible nightlife...except for this little pearl that brings a kinda of "european" style to a night scene where all you can find are bars with wannabe djsets, and drunk 20 years old. Real atmosphere, real people, affordable prices, and most of all an energy that keeps you alive all the times I have been there.

Habitat is the cornerstone of the house music scene in Calgary for many years now. They host the dirty tones DJ competition annually in March and April on Saturday nights. I love whiskey and they serve an amazing Japanese whiskey that I've never had before. The space is a little bit awkward as far as a dance floor goes but it's very quaint and inviting at the same time. I really like their graphic design theme for their event posters as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover such a place in Calgary: good quality music, chilled people of different ages, everybody was expressing himself how he wanted, nice stuff, i felt very comfortable here. I was completely sober and experienced pure euphoria, couldn't stop smiling. Also was glad to see many good dancers, many people were doing nice footwork! P.S. Sorry guys for not ordering any drinks and special thanks for barkeepers for giving me tap water and offering some orange slices :)

I showed up at the bar while they were doing last call, the last dj of the night had maybe 2 songs left in his set and the doorman still charged me full cover. I get stuck working overtime at work, I get there way later than I wanted to, then I have to pay full cover just to have one drink and hear 2 songs before the bar closes. 2 songs I heard were good, but I've never been back since

Dope place, and really different, underground house music. Staff is all friendly here, and prices are cheap here (don't know why everyone thinks this place charges so much?). Been coming here every now and then to see some local DJs spin. Always a pleasure to see Vinh spin as well, love his sets! People who hate on Habitat just don't appreciate the positive atmosphere and good vibes, along with some pretty cool people. The club itself is a little small, but not necessarily a bad thing at all. It's nice that it's confined. Bigger doesn't mean better. It's always clean as well, which is rare for a lot of clubs in YYC. Habitat is dope if you're looking for a different kind of scene, but an awesome one at that.

This club was AMAZING. The bartenders were soo cool to chat with. The security wasn't rude or pushy at all. The term respect is not given it is earned applies here. Everyone in the club was lively and accommodating(even if you happen to spill their drink ????). Lastly the owner has some of the greatest comebacks I have ever seen ????. Overall this club is a must go if you are into any of the following clubs, attractive people, DJs, EDM, Bass drops, lights, alcohol(not listed by importance or prevalence).

Based on your response, I guess I should justify the review for this place. When I go to McDonald's, I'm expecting McDonald's. Not a nightclub. I can review different places based on the expectations for that place. A great stay at a mediocre hotel can warrant high review, but a 'meh' stay at a high class hotel can warrant low reviews. When I came here with a group of 4, we walked in and saw essentially everyone but two people standing around doing nothing. No energy from the crowd. There was no dancing, no energy. Now, that's not necessarily the fault of the club by any chance, but I definitely didn't enjoy it as a party venue. I'm not sure how it can be improved, but I'm not a consulting firm, just a guy looking for a place to hang out.

Never really seen any decent club type environments in Calgary for the short months I was here however it being my last week my roommate, friend and I decided to go out. Based on reviews I chose this place and it was one of the best decisions I've made. The staff were very polite. Went on the Reprise night and this fit my type of scene perfectly. The people that were there were not there for alternate reasons, they were there to have fun, dance and have a fantastic time. And that's exactly what me and my friends did. The music was amazing never a dull moment and I was absolutely exhausted after (sign of a good night). Drinks were moderately priced, nothing overly priced however it was not a cheap scuzzy bar. Fantastic night at Habitat, if I was in Calgary for any longer I would definitely revisit.

Very strange crowd here. I went at 10pm on a Friday night and there were only 11 or so people. All older crowd, not dancing just trying to talk over the loud music. Dj played what seemed like the sane EDM song over and over for 2 hours. A lot of older men bought me drinks and offered to take me to their hotel rooms, I politely declined and they politely went away. Drinks were good though! I would recommend for anyone who is a true EDM music fan that is 25-45. Cool atmosphere, they were playing The Never Ending Story in the back room my friends and i were sitting at. Weird place.

I was trying to get in with some of my friends, who were in before me and they were coming in after their smoke. As we were walking in the bouncer, I think his name was Jim was asking to see our stamps, I did not have one. He stopped me and asked were mine was, I told him I did not have one, he then asked me if I was even in the bar that night. I never was, I told him my friend who knows him was trying to get me in, but he was to drunk to talk to the bouncer. So the bouncer said back of the line. I was not going to cause any trouble so I said, " no problem I will wait in line." As I was starting to walk away two young guys who were waiting in the front of the line said, "hey you should have lied to him and told him you were already inside." Bouncer looks at those guys and said, " you two back of the line. " Then he looks at me and said, " you can go inside. " That was so awesome what he did. He did not have to do that. So thank you Jim the bouncer, ( I think that was his name, big guy ).

Music that is fun to dance to, real DJ's that know what they're doing, in a smaller space filled with people that generally aren't difficult to be around. If you like electronic music, house etc. and a space to dance to said genres without being oppressed by gross club people. This is your spot. Cover is reasonable, bar is expensive but I appreciate the atmosphere so much that I don't mind. It's as if this is where friendly people that love dancing escape from other clubs to find shelter here.

A truly wonderful, intimate little club (if a little cramped when packed). The Studio Social events were wonderful opportunities to see that there's a thriving underground of electronic music in Calgary - perhaps the city where you'd least expect such a thing. Been there once so far, great DJs and they seem very friendly, did not even notice the bouncers, because maybe they did great job very seamlessly. Drinks are really reasonably priced. The crowd is not very young people, which I personally like, although I don't mind, as long as there is a wide range of ages. I wish it was a bigger venue. I think if they become bigger they will definitely have even more people coming, as long as they can maintain the culture they have there now.

Habitat living sound is not a place to get crazy drunk and act stupid. Its too small for that you will get noticed and most likely put in your place. Which I like. If your into deep house, techno etc you will definetly enjoy habitat music compared to other calgary clubs. Djs like Carl craig, Pablo bolivar, hernan cattaneo, lee foss, chus and ceballos etc have played habitat if you are into avicii, axwell, tiesto, hardwell I would go somewhere else. But if you have an open mind and willing to hear more underground house or techno please go !

Habitat Living Sound has been in my life for many years. They have been a staple in the electronic music culture in YYC they feature local artist and also bring in the big names in the industry. I would highly recommend this place if your into the electronic dance culture you won't be disappointed.
