The staff at Cowboys (and Cowboys events) are wildly untrained in Alberta ProTect policy (despite their claims that they are all trained, if that is the case than they are wildly neglectful of the rules and regulations of ProTect). The staff seem to resort to aggressive behaviour and violence as a first response to any incident, or they will just turn a blind eye. The City of Calgary and the Calgary Police seem to have a largely difficult time getting any traction whatsoever into the abundant amount of incidents and allegations. Bring a mouth guard and leave your valuables at home, truly embarrassing.

Typical Casino with an integrated night club. As expected, it's very clean and spacious. Games are also clean and the servers are polite. Went during Stampede so it's super busy and getting out of the parking lot is a bit hairy.

Very bad experience here. You are just another dollar sign with exceptionally poor service and disregard for any kind of overall customer experience. Cover charge is way to high and really it is just a place to drink. Nothing special and my recommendation would be drive past here as there are many other establishments that will welcome your business.

The casino security guard who looks like a busted and weathered Chad Kroeger needs to go. He is supposed to be a "supervisor" and he is the most unprofessional person in the building. I was denied entry, I was not drunk or beligerent and I am NOT underage. Personally going to find somewhere else to frequent, that doesn't have a power struggle within their staff. I have seen them react inappropriately to all sorts of calls, this was just the cherry on-top. 0/10 would NOT recommend.

Was stampede 2018 was trying to have a good time at the tent in the grounds. I had tickets to get to a private event in the tent yet the event holders were not at the gate to provide bracelets. Security (5 different people) proceeded to parade me around for an hour and not give me access to the tent without paying $150 after I had already paid to get access earlier but had to leave the tent to get into the private event. Cowboys did not provide any solution other than fork over $150 and did not understand my situation at all. I regret the situation I had and I hope they can provide a semblance of better service to other people because mine was terrible and I hope they learn from it after losing a customer.

NEVER GO TO COWBOYS unless you want to be treated horribly. Their customer service is terrible for all customers, regardless of age and demographic. Obviously they have been burned before by young drunk people (who hasn't) but that is no excuse for the verbal/physical abuse from the staff. This staff is notoriously harsh on customer's, and I didn't fully understand until tonight. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SANITY (AND SAFETY) AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Fresh 18 yearolds might have fun here for their first night, but after that it's a dumpster. Have had my items stolen from here on two occasions. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Should be a 0/5.

Go in with low expectations and you won't be disappointed. The building is nice with the casino surrounding the club entrance, especially during the colder weather. An absolute blast during stampede time. During the rest of the year the casino attracts an older clientele and the club consists primarily of freshly legal people. Just good to know in advance. A great time here and there.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL TIMES. Their security team are brainless and rude guys that don't have any idea how to treat guests. They let the ladies get drunk until they collapse and they tolerate everything they do, while a guy shows little or no sigh of being drunk and they are escorted out. I saw ladies having trios on the dance floor and practically having sex and no one said or did anything. The ladies touch in appropriately to any one they want of course and they are okay. I guy, however does that, even the police is involved, they are pictured and filed as sexual predators. I Happened to be there for the first time as I was the chosen driver for the night. I was sit dow on a barstool in a bar a side of the dance floor, just having water and I saw this lady in the middle of two guys indulging herself with the machos performance and actually few of guess were just kind of enjoying the view. One of the guys disappeared and she was left with just one guy in front of her. Another guy came out of now where and replace graciously the missing guy. As drunk as she was she got offended, I would believe and started to push violently the guy behind her. The guy as I could see, wasn't drunk. The guy decided to take off to avoid confrontation. Then out not where this drunk and filthy lady came directly to me and start pushing me and telling me why I have touched her in appropriately. I told her to please stop doing that as I have nothing to do there. Obviously she was 100% intoxicated. Then she went to security guys and complained about me. the security guy came and says they don't need any proof as she complained first and asked to leave the place. He wouldn't listen, wouldn't care about me and he added he was doing me a favour by not reporting me to the police. I am a fine gentlemen, well educated from a great family and with outstanding reputation, who was elegantly dressed and as always I was using the best of my social skills to greed and share the place in a polity and respectfully with every one, who was scored out in a rude and not even close to a professional way. If you are a great guy, great person don't take the risk of going there you are in danger. Of course not recommended at all...

Beware the bartenders in cowboys short pour the drinks. During Stampede they raised drink prices up to $9.50 for well drinks, I don’t mind paying the door fee but you should pour a decent drink. I twice saw the bartender pour drinks and take money and never ring the drinks up. Short pouring allows her to account for the inventory changes at the end of the night. We are locals and will never go back.

This place is loaded with mind games. I've never gambled in my life, but if you do, then do so at your own risk. From what I've been able to pick up from my friends gambling here the odds are 1:4 in favor of the house. The night club is surprisingly packed near weekends and the music can be slow or awkward at times but I guess they're trying to go for a certain look... Saw Paris Hilton there once a couple of years back by chance.

My least favorite club in Calgary. The crowd is generic Calgarians, fake cowboys, and high-maintenance drunk chicks. The music is fine until they switch to country, and everyone tries their hardest to keep it groovin'. The hot-dog stand is good, though. Also, they had midget wrestling and that was the best. Go here once to get it out of your system, and see if it's your style.

My son loved Cowboys on Ladies night. Poker, dancing, drinking and craps all in one night. So for his his first birthday since he was taken from us, which is the day before mine I decided to ask Cowboys if they would take a group of 15 to 20 in for the night for us to celebrate. We completely enjoyed our evening with learn to play poker, bottle service and appies all complimentary. I am very grateful to all the staff that took care of my group and made my birthday so special I felt like royalty.

FIrst and last time at this place for the "Wing off"... We dropped $50 to attend and the "unlimited wings" advertised were non existant. We left without eating a bite. Everyone around us was talking about how terrible it was... a group of 5 behind us and a few people ahead of us all said they wouldn't ever go to this event again. Everyone was lined up and the lines didn't go anywhere but to empty trays of food. There was no explanation of how everything worked, and no food in site. We waiting for 30 minutes, and had arrived in the middle of the event. It was overcrowed and chaotic.

The casino and bars was a great experience. The main reason for my visit was for the night club that was a mistake the dj doesn't know what EDM is, so I guess if dancing to country music is your club atmosphere then you will have fun otherwise prepare to be disappointed for the lack of club music. There are better night clubs in calgary then this. My advice go elsewhere if your looking for a good DJ that is better. ????

As a club owner your responsible for your staffs actions. Having 4 bouncers beat one kid and causing serious damage is not a place I want my kid to be going. If you can't screen your staff properly you should be held accountable as well. I can only assume judging by the amount of damage your staff did to that kid they must have felt threatned. There was no reports indicating that this was Chuck Norris's kid so I can only assume you hire cowards with big Yellow stripes down their Back that like to beat up people smaller than them. Well, there's not much I could say about the place since I'm used to another standard, but my impression is that it lacks in many things, mostly on the music. The security told me that I could go to the washroom and get back into the party, when I got back, he didn't allow me to, claiming he said otherwise, had to wait for my girlfriend outside until the party ended thirty minutes after (2:20).

The cowboys security guards would not let my boyfriend back in "because he was too drunk" like yes he had a couple drinks, but he could speak and walk perfectly fine. They kicked him out because he repeated himself twice. I honestly think that's pathetic. We're celebrating our friends 18th birthday and they denied us access to water, and to dance and celebrate with them. This will be the last time I ever attend any event at cowboys.

The Walmart Supercentre of bars, Cowboys is good at pleasing a variety of crowds but great at pleasing none. There is something for most people there, but there's no consistency. Since they play such a large variety of music, you can be jamming out one minute and wanting to cut your ears off the next. The place was also surprisingly dead the Friday night I went. There is plenty of security, but their staff sticks with the theme of no consistency by picking and choosing issues to deal with while letting others slide. I'll probably find myself following friends here a couple more times this summer, but it's not my top choice. Surviving mostly on its reputation, Cowboys is tough to recommend.

I went there for the patty which was extremely disappointing, it felt like a kids party. A very immature audience and very rude service. On the way out, one of the guards in black told me I had been kicked out of the place and that was asked to leave twice, which never happened. After being confused as to why I had been kicked out, the only thing the guard was able to whisper to me due to his insecurity, was that I had been previously been asked to leave so now he had to make sure I left. If you are hopping for a night of party, I hope you’re a fan of bright lights and Kids bop.

This place obviously makes enough money to deny access to people because they "supposedly" saw me and my friend on camera drinking in the parking lot, when we both have been sober for months! When asked to see the tape because it isn't true at all, we were told we needed a lawyer to do so. My friend couldn't even go use the washroom ,which is the only thing we wanted to do. Literally! How can people also, even ask customers to leave and go back to our car if they're so convinced we were drinking!? We asked them to call the police on us cause that's their responsibility to do so..protect other people from us?!?! The head of security which was the management on duty changed his reasons why we were denied multiple times while we were on the phone with him. 1st we both were drinking, then my friend was the only one drinking that's why SHE was denied, then when we asked them to come and search the car, they said we could've hid the alcohol, then he said we probably threw it away?! ***you saw us drinking on camera but can't see us throwing it away??*** anyway this place is disgusting! We both have spent SO MUCH money in that place and this is how they treat sober people??? No respect whatsoever, and the rudeness from that bouncer. Never ever going back.

Went to play poker there for the first time. Nice room with a lot of tables and a good game selection. Food is also quite good as is service overall. Only down side is that the Cowboy's nigh club is in the casino as well and the entrance is right outside the poker room. So, through the glass wals you get to see security check and deal with a never ending stream o f people coming into and going out of the club. If you leave late you have to travel through a crowd of club goers who hang out in the casino as well.

Stampede first Thursday. Unorganized, understaffed, could not keep beer tubs consistently full. Credit card platform takes too long and beer tub girls consistently ran out of change.. Need more people at the main bars to accommodate flow. The platform above the bar was leaking water below probably from an above bar. Bathrooms were disgusting. I won’t be spending my money this year at Cowboys. You’d think by now they would really want to wow everyone on the first opening day but it was a complete wash!

Very fun company to work for during the stampede. Best security team in the country. Provides for a very safe atmosphere and welcomes some of the largest names in the music industry, and not just country ;) I’m not one for clubs so I won’t say much. They have a fun dance floor and the casino is pretty nice. I find the casino fairly small, however, maybe that’s because of the many restaurants that are inside.

On July 11, 2019 4 of the cowboys staff/ security decided it was acceptable to brutally beat a young man after kicking him out. Kicking and kneeing him in the face causing serious damage. When his mother called the owners, management and staff refused to even answer her calls. I WOULD SAY DO NOT ATTEND THE COWBOYS TENT!!

Great place, great staff, great community outreach. I have been to many concerts, special events, charity events and nights out after a flames game at cowboys over the last 10+ years and have always had a great time. Not just a nightclub as Cowboys also puts on incredible events for the city such as drag shows, comedy events to raise money for cancer and many more.

Went there on at saturday night at 10pm for lip sync battle.They had no shock top, coorlight, kokanee or budweiser. What kind of club doesn't offer those kinds of beer. Also women are allowed to dance on the tables but men are not allowed. Seem a little discriminatory. Place is a joke

This place could have so much potential, the location is great as well as the size of the club. Unfortunately, the incompetent, rude and prejudice bouncers and staff at Cowboys make this place unbearable. The bouncers are especially sexist and racist, and makes the whole experience uncomfortable. I hope this place will improve in the future, and will hire more competent and friendly staff that are able to deal with and handle situations in a mature, equal and fair manner.

I like this club and I was going to go there to celebrate new years Eve. I was expecting the cover to be more then the usal $10 so I was prepared to pay maybe $20-30 for cover. But when I got there I found out the cover was $50. That is just ridiculous for a cover charge and I walked right out of the line because i felt that was seriously over priced for new years. So maybe as a future reference? If you want people at your bar on new years or really holiday maybe make your cover price a more reasonable price. I wouldn't have minded $20-30 but $50 just seemed way too much. Just my two cents.

If you're in the casino during Stampede and want to finish the night off, go in the club at the last minute. Wanted $20 cover at 1:40 AM and free at 1:50 AM. Bartenders will keep your change assuming its a tip.

Your casino bartender is very nice but the rest of your staff are tip hungry, all your bouncers want a big tip jus get in even with a party list. I would rather go to a liquor store where they charge 5 dollars extra a beer than go back to your establishment.

Horrible service from one lady, apparently there was too many First Nations surrounding her and she told us "I can't serve you guys anymore" "you guys are cut off" although it was the second time we went up for a drink. Never had problems with this place till now and the fact that I asked what the problem was but did not receive an answer even from someone in a higher position than the bartender. And to add onto that there was two males fighting whom were not native but we got the security called to us. Racism at its finest. Other than that it's always been a great place to go.

Cowboys is known for their slick bouncers who believe they are the police. They will ban people just because they can they will kick out whoever they want. Yesterday I was getting i.d by a bouncer and he had the unintelligent nerve to point out the fact that I am a black male wearing a D.C jacket and "that my people usually don't wear those type of clothing". This coming from a person of asain persuation youd think he'd have better judgement however they get away with everything so whose to stop them. Look at all the reviews. It all roots back to the powerhousing security. Just remember you work at cowboys.

This won't let me post less then 1 star. I would give it a -10. Our dd got kicked out for not giving the bouncer eye contract. Said he was too drunk. The bouncer needs to figure out what drunk people look like. Pathetic. Won't go back or encourage our friends to go there. Waste of time for entertainment. Funny thing is our dd didn't have anything to drink. Poor people skills and shouldn't be working at a front door. Maybe he should be cleaning the toilets instead.

Cowboys is my absolute favourite bar to go, not only during Stampede, but after Flames games and other Saddledome events. And seriously the best staff in the industry! They also host amazing concerts, both during the Cowboys Music Festival and throughout the rest of the year. LOVE this place.

I used to like going here. Unlike many of the previous reviews on here, I have actually never had a problem with the bouncers/security and found them professional. That's just from my own experience though. Lately, I have just found it too packed and the music to be lacking. It tends to be the same every week too. It's always the same remix of "This is America/Calabria" etc. The patrons can get very rowdy to the point of getting violent and I find it takes away from the experience. Very young crowd.

Amazing fun place to have a date or even better a girls night. Every Wednesday there is a woman night 7$ fish bowls and and the best part!!!!! THE BOYZ! Boys dancing on stage what a night! By the end you just can't have enough! Anything from sexy fireman. Police man or construction workers. What a sexy bunch! Oh and can gamble and play slots or poker tables.

This company burns down historic buildings just so that they can put up a party tent. The security is not very well trained and uses excessive force. Not the place I'd like to be. Buyer beware

Have been going here since I turned 18. Went to the club after having two beers, not even tipsy and the power tripping security guards were trying to tell me I was stumbling when walking in last night and got refused entry. I have heard of issues with security guards being total scumbags but last night topped it off for me. Will never go back to cowboys again. Management really needs to look into who they're hiring. The security were basically laughing that I couldn't get into the club, trying to switch their words to make it seem like I was wrong and misinterpreting them, when I was not even tipsy, and then to top it off they let some guy in who drank a full 26 of vodka. (Was talking to him outside about it) Neckbeard security guard literally followed me to the other entrance to deny me entry a second time. And what makes it funny is that we came on one of their party buses, which was supposed to show up at 9:30, but ended up showing up at 10:15. Such a joke, if you're thinking about going to a club with country music, go to Knox or Ranchmans.

Hands down the worst club and casino in Calgary! Would rate it zero stars if offered the choice. I hope this place burns to the ground and the owner leaves town, so the convenient location can be taken over by someone who knows how to run a club and casino. On the other hand if you have no social skills and weigh about 145 pounds, consider applying for the bouncer jobs as there are a ton of degenerate bouncers you'll be able to relate to.

The only terrible experience I had at this venue was realizing we didn’t have one in the town we live in. Beautiful women, great mix of music (even though I’m not fond of country) great vibes everywhere in general and you’re bound to have a good time. Tons of bouncers but we had no issues with them, the blacklight stage was a time of my life but be warned, never put your drink down...it will get swiped.

Hands down the best bar in Calgary, and the ONLY place to party during stampede. There's a reason this place has been around so long. Smoking hot staff, great drinks, and the best music to dance to. There's no where else I would choose for a night out, and it's perfect for after events at the Saddledome. Added bonus - the entry into the club is indoors, no standing outside in the freezing cold.

Tried to buy a $5.50 beer with change and was met with extreme rudeness. The beer bucket girl, counted out 3 loonies that I gave her, which were exceptable to her. Then poured the next $2.50, which consisted of all qaurters and 2 dimes and a nickel into her "change cup" saying I Owed her that amount back. She said they were all nickles and dimes which wouldnt be counted at the end of the night (after taking them) and it was ridiculous and I shouldn't be buying drinks if I didn't have any money, I'm rude, etc. Yes I know, paying with exact change I got out of their casino isn't the classiest but keeping it, then saying I owe more isn't right. I then got a $1.50 from a friend which she took with a disgusted look and excepted as full payment. Yes, I still tipped, with change. I'll be back at Cboys again because it is a great place to go with friends; Just one beer bucket girl who wasn't pleasant that night. Next time I'll bring a $5.50 Bill for my beers. Classy Cowboys.

This Casino is the best! I usually come to Centre Bar after hockey games or events. So much to do and It's really busy! Great service! Plenty do do, whether playing the tables, enjoying the slots or just enjoying a beer in the casino area. Cowboys bar depending on which night you go in can be awesome. Plenty of dancing, live bands, stripper nights. Dance floor is quite large and plenty of people to dance with, the bar tenders we're always helpful and quick to serve you. Plenty of bar drinks available or waiting staff circling with a variety of shots on trays. I've always had good nights here to be honest, no matter what day if the week it is.

came here for a birthday party we were told there was going to get picked up in a party bus and there would be $100 cash but we got picked up in a school bus and couldnt play our own music and never got the money horrible experience will never come back

This place is an institution!! Legendary times, epic concerts...literally the most fun you can have with your boots on. If you come visit for Stampede, a trip to the Cowboys tent is a MUST! A once in a lifetime experience. Put it on your bucket list and check it off...YEEEHAWWW!!

From Concerts, drags shows and live charity comedy events to parties after the flames games, 75 cent draft night and everything else in between, this is a true world class party venue! And, let’s not forget about Cowboys Music festival during stampede! If you’re not at Cowboys during stampede.... you are seriously missing out on the most legendary party! If this place isn’t on your bucket list, it needs to be! One of the best parties in the world!

Terrible expierence for a stagette party. Paid $125 for a 8 minute limo ride with a terrible sound system. The staff were extremely rude. The stagette scavanger hunt was completely inappropriate. Was told I wouldn't have to wait in line, but waited in line for 15 minutes. Didn't even stay past 11pm. 10/10 do not recommend for any sort of function
