We were driving north in late spring and drove past the museum but decided to turn around to see it. Of course but late spring it was not very busy but well worth the stop. The Museum is very well laid out and thought out. The display and dioramas and the animals are shown as they should be in their habitats. We highly recommend this pleasant stop over especially if you have children that will benefit from viewing the displays and the stories.

Even if the advertisement ("about local history") is somewhat misleading, it's a great place: they offer a concentrated broad overview of the local fauna, where the animals are shown in their natural environment. Weldone! And especially for kids! Outside, they offer a short but interesting documentation of the role of forest fires.

Tom Westheimer

Amazing collection and presentation! Worth a long visit!

A definite must place to stop

We were really sorry the museum was closed both times we drove past, but they have some nice displays behind the museum. They even invite travelers to stay in their parking lot overnight.

The staff at the front was very rude the bushy hair older lady. I get your not for profit but to ask ppl to pay to use the washroom especially when it comes to a child needing it. She needs better training in the yukon hospitality cause she lacks it very much. Having to make me find another business so my daughter could use the restroom. I guess she doesn't get people sometimes travel for hrs and when kids got to go they got to go. I will never stop there again and will be letting others know to

David Wilkie

An absolutely must stop along the Alcan highway! We stopped during a long day on the road. What a surprise! The museum is very well done and was enjoyed by our whole family. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The gift store had great crafts from local artists.

Best interaction on animals .

To be honest I figured you see one small town museum you've seen them all. Boy was I wrong! This museum is very well put together with dioramas and displays. There is a movie that loops so if you have time to sit and watch it's interesting. It takes about half an hour of really looking at the exhibits or 15 minutes of less on a run through. The movie is another half hour or so. This is one museum that is well worth the stop and it's only $5 cdn per adult! Talk about a steal.

Vickie Abbott

Very interesting. Worth the stop

Benjamin Huggons

Although it looks small from the outside, they pack a lot in with excellent exhibits and taxidermy. Very informative and with the stop.

John Sperling

This museum was a surprise. It didn't look like much from the outside, but it was beautifully done inside.
