What this niche museum lacks in commonly shared interests, it more than makes up for in educational and heritage value. Also it's free.

It looked abandoned and if not it is so far from any museum.

This is an annual event held in August at Tuna wharf at Wedgeport. As well as watching the fishing contestants have their Tuna catch weighed, you can visit the museum and find out more about the history of the area and the history of Tuna fishing in the region. In addition to live music in the festival's tent, there are lots of home made, freshly made seafood and barbeque delicacies to be had at a very reasonable price. A great place to visit for a family or friends. Hope to see you there next August.

This is not a place I would send someone unless they had a particular interest in tuna/sport fishing, or in the history of the Wedgeport area. It's a long drive, and not overly engaging for kids (at least mine).

Really enjoyed the museum. Wedgeport has a very cool worldly history. Really neat. The old photographs are of great quality and depict the Tuna tournament well. Happy to see that tournament has returned.
